I DO NOT OWN INUYASHA OR OURAN HIGHSCHOOL HOSTCLUB

Cogito Ergo Sum

Chapter 68

"Somehow, I really can't understand this guy..."

"Maybe because he's not meant to be read like a book?" Kyoya hummed and stared listlessly at Tamaki who was bouncing all over the place with a camera. They were currently in the middle of their Kyoto trip and Kyoya was more than ready to go home any moment now. The blonde's energy was certainly chaotic, slowly driving him insane and it was Kagome's grip alone that kept him stable.

"You know, instead of sulking and stressing yourself over Tamaki-chan, how about you have fun yourself?" She said to him, poking his cheek teasingly.

Brushing away her hand, he scoffed. "This isn't exactly my definition of fun. I rather stay home and read a book or paint something... I'm not fond of staying outside."

"And this is why you're such a stick in the mud." Kagome goodnaturedly huffed. "Would it kill you to let loose from time to time? For example, I know you want to go take pictures yourself-" She saw him rearing up to deny her claims. "-don't play your tsuntsun act on me Kyoya-chan I can smell your denying ass from miles away."

His jaw snapped with a click. Kyoya glared at her, tips of his ears turning a cute shade of pink.

With a few quick prods and lowkey threatening, Kyoya finally humored her and began looking around the place, his own camera slowly getting acquainted with his fingers as he relaxed enough to take some scenic shots. She smiled as she watched Tamaki naturally gravitate towards the Ootori boy, the blonde blinking in surprise at seeing Kyoya's barely there smile as he looked at the shot he took. Tamaki tilted his head with a grin and decided to not disturb the raven haired boy, opting to keep her company instead.

Kagome smiled at him. "It's your first time seeing him like that huh?"

"Un. Kyoya's smart but he's quite stubborn huh?" The blue eyed female glanced at Tamaki's soft smile and marveled at his ability to blindside people. He might act like a goofy idiot most of the time but she observed him enough to see that he's actually quite perceptive and emotionally sensitive towards people surrounding him.

It made her wonder as she looked between the two boys.

'Who's actually leading who?'

Kyoya finally noticed that Tamaki was done looking around and walked to their position, his fake smile once more plastered to his face as he told Tamaki their next stop, not noticing the blonde frowning as he noticed the mask slip on back in place.

Behind the two boys, she watched and studied.

Try as he might, Kyoya's already getting influenced by Tamaki, his hold on his emotions slipping from time to time whenever the blonde started doing something stupid or obnoxious. Then, there was Tamaki who she can smell was purposely trying to bait Kyoya into acting upon his genuine feelings, going as far as to making himself look like the idiot just so he can coax Kyoya into dropping his overly-friendly facade.

Already, she can see Kyoya cracking.

A nervous tic started taking place inside Kagome's mind, a seed that has burrowed, slowly festering from within.

'What is my position in this? I feel as if...' As she watch Kyoya sigh in exasperation at Tamaki who grinned at the Ootori's genuine show of annoyance, she felt them grow a little bit farther.

'I'm not supposed to be here.'

Because youre in the wrong anime girl, of course youre not supposed to be there.

Do I care?

No.

Am I breaking the fourth wall-?

Maybe.
