1 month later

"Please welcome Domino City's graduating class for the spring!"

Everyone got their diplomas as the music played, and their school's national anthem is heard throughout the auditorium. A lot of people either cheered, cried, hugged each other, or try not to get upset now that they're done being high schoolers.

Because today, they are stepping into the adult world. 3rd year students will be either going to college, work, or do something to achieve their dreams. Usually it's a career choice to make a decent salary, or some would choose to move away and live somewhere else. As for Yugi and his friends, they're happy to finish school and get their diplomas.

After the school's national anthem is done, everyone ran out of the auditorium and they threw their black diploma tubes high in the air. They were able to accomplish high school, and now they must figure out what to do next.

As their certificate diploma tubes landed back in their hands, Tristan noticed something and looked around. "I'm surprised Kaiba isn't here to get his certificate. Did he skip or something?"

Joey shrugged. "He said that it's a waste of time, and opted to get his diploma mailed to him. Said something about an important business meeting, though he did congratulate me for graduating and saying I'm a very smart dog." He grumbled while folding his arms. "No matter how many times I tell him I'm no dog, he still likes calling me dog! Well, how would he like it if I call him a beast!?"

"I say go for it," Tristan encouraged him.

Yugi smiled a little at their antics, while Tea sighed and Ryou sweat-dropped. Duke already got his diploma, and is busy talking to a group of girls in the corner. Probably to exchange buttons as a way to remember each other. His eyes spotted something at the entrance, causing him to look over and smile wide as he waved them over. "We're over here, other me!"

Ryou looked over at where he was waving at, and he gasped as he saw a few people he recognized at the entrance: Bakura, his father, Yami, Solomon, and Mrs. Muto. They're here to congratulate them on their graduation.

Not only that, Bakura wore a decent outfit that looked good on him: a red tank top with a leather jacket over it, ripped jeans, and army style boots. There was also a necklace hung around his shoulder, which is a silver necklace with a snake charm on it.

His father wore a traditional business suit, as most fathers do or something else that's considered fancy. He's happy his father came to see him graduate, since this is something he wanted to happen.

Yugi jogged over to them, and jumped into Yami's arms, who held him and spun him around while laughing. Ryou chuckled at what they did and ran over to Bakura and his father, giving them both a huge hug. He could hear his father sniffing while choking back a sob and Bakura patted his back, returning the hug.

Tea and the others joined them, as they greeted them and showed them their diplomas. Mrs. Muto happily clapped her hands together while smiling at them. "Congratulations, all of you. You've all accomplished high school, and are now ready to head into the adult world."

"Too bad for me. I gotta work at my dad's factory," Tristan groaned.

"Sucks to be you!" Joey snickered. "I'm gonna become a famous pro-duelist, so watch out world! Joey Wheeler is coming!"

Tea sweat-dropped at his proclamation. "Good luck with that. At least this time, you don't have to worry about your grades dropping."

"Hey! I was able to pass my classes! I too have a brain!"

"You barely passed. You're just lucky to get enough points to be able to pass school."

"Because I made sure to always have B's and C's on my tests!"

"Which surprised the teachers that you were doing so well in their classes."

"Its all thanks to my tutor!"

Tea placed her hands on her hips. "Its Seto Kaiba, isn't it?"

Joey turned red, and quickly looked away. "G-Guess again!"

Tea shook her head at him, while Tristan teased him blushing and Mrs. Muto smiled softly at their antics. She glanced over at Yugi, who is still hugging Yami. She's happy that her son graduated, and is now ready for the adult world. He'll most likely help out at the game shop, though she has no idea what else he wanted to do. Does he want to go to college, or do something else?

She glanced at the sky, wishing her husband is here. She didn't have the heart to tell her son that his father is no longer with them. Instead, he is in the afterlife. She had to make up the story of him being away overseas on business so he wouldn't feel sad that his dad passed away while he was still small.

Hana is thankful to Solomon for letting them stay at his game shop, and agreed with her plan to never tell Yugi about what really happened to his father. It was hard on Yugi when his grandmother passed away, and she really didn't want him to experience another loss in his life. Maybe she'll tell him the truth when the time is right, but not today. Today is a joyful day to celebrate him and his friends graduating high school.

"Do any of you all have plans for today?" she asked the group. "I was thinking that we can celebrate your accomplishments by having a dinner party at the game shop. I'll make a bunch of yummy meals for everyone."

"We're in!" Joey raised his hand. "And we'll help with the food!"

"We'll help her make the food and place it at the right spot. You're not gonna taste the food nor inhale it," Tea wagged her finger at him. "The same goes for you, Tristan."

"H-Hey! I do not inhale my food!"

"Chinese food, Tristan."

"That only happened one time!"

"And it was so good!" Joey drooled at the thought.

Yugi chuckled at their antics, and then felt his head turned as warm lips pressed against his own. Hugging his neck, he deepened the kiss so they can move in synchronization. He didn't care if anyone else is watching, because he loves his Yami and is allowed to be intimate with him in public. Plus, he noticed Bakura kissed Ryou in front of Ryou's fangirls who wanted to either get a button from him or confess.

As Yugi and Yami parted, they both hugged again and let themselves be comfortable in each other's arms. Yugi inhaled his scent: Egyptian spices, cinnamon, apples, and something else that confused him. Sniffing again, Yugi broke the hug until they were arms-length. "Yami, have you encountered any cats today?"

"No," Yami quickly said.

Yugi arched his eyebrow. "I know you're lying. Let me guess, they tried to kidnap you, haven't they?"

"I swear they're attracted to me! They wish to kidnap me!"

"Just like how you mentioned Bakura almost got kidnapped by snakes?"

"Because they see him as food! The cats see me as one of their own!"

Bakura glared daggers at Yami. "Oi! Snakes respect me! They will never eat their master!"

"Only because you have Diabound at your side!"

"They see me as a powerful cobra! You're just a varmint to them!"

"You dare call me a varmint!?"

"I'm saying you are!"

"H-Hey! Easy!" Yugi cried out, preventing Yami from going near the thief king.

Ryou did the same thing with Bakura. "We are not here to fight! Please be on your best behavior! And I mean it!"

Seeing their lighter half's stern expression, they calmed down and chose to ignore each other. This caused everyone to sigh in relief; especially Mr. Bakura since he remembered Bakura is known to fight sometimes with the pharaoh. Luckily, he was given the whole story on what happened so he has a pretty good idea to why Bakura and Yami would squabble with one another.

Solomon placed his hands behind his back. "Now then, shall we all have the celebration this evening at the game shop?"

A few days later

The airport was a little busy, but not too crowded. People were getting ready to head towards their terminal, look at their flight, get their luggage, or arriving here from their previous flight. However, today was very important. Tea will be leaving for New York this semester.

She got accepted into a study abroad dance program in the big apple, and was able to obtain a scholarship for it to cover her school expenses. Thanks to her part-time jobs, she saved up enough money and found a good apartment not far from her school. All that's left is to go to New York, get the keys to her apartment, settle in, and be ready for her dance school. Maybe she'll see Serenity there since she's also living in New York.

Her friends arrived at the airport to wish her off, and she's glad they're here to support her. Not only that, she knows they'll be fine because they all found their own dreams and happiness: Yami & Yugi have a stronger relationship than before as lovers, and the same goes for Bakura & Ryou. She even remembered the time he gave Ryou a flower because it matched Ryou's personality, which made Ryou nearly pounce on Bakura because he never thought his darker half could be so sweet and caring.

Joey & Seto are getting along well, and they've gotten really close with each other. Mokuba already sees Joey as another older sibling, and is hinting on when Seto would pop the question, causing her to laugh since Seto would definitely be too nervous to do that.

Tristan found a job that involves fixing cars and motorcycles, and liked it better than working at his dad's factory. He even got his own place and is saving up money so he can come to America and visit New York. Tea is sure he wanted to not only see her, but also Serenity. She'll have to remind Tristan that Joey will figure it out, and won't hesitate to hurt him if he dare flirt with his little sister.

As for Duke, he'll remain working at the Devlin Café with his father. Right now, business is going well and they're thinking of expanding. They wish to start here in Domino City, and then expand all over in Japan and over to America. Either way, they'll get there since their treats are tasty.

Looking at the flight information display system to let her know that her flight will arrive soon, she turned to look at her friends. "This is it. I'm actually going to America."

Joey gave her a thumbs up. "You'll do great! Dat program is lucky to have you since you worked so hard to get in!"

Tristan agreed. "You won't be alone. Sweet little Serenity will keep you company."

Joey gave him the stink eye, and placed his arm around him in a strangling pose. "Remember, you and Duke are not allowed to flirt with my baby sister! Ya hear me!?"

Tristan got out of his grip and placed his hands up in surrender. "Okay! Okay! Sheesh! I'm just reassuring her!"

Solomon slightly chuckled at their argument, and gave Tea a firm nod. "Take good care of yourself. Eat healthy, get plenty of rest, and focus on your studies. Don't let anything distract you from your goal."

Duke flicked his hair back, and winked. "Remember, Devlin's café makes the best ice cream. The ice cream shops there can never beat ours."

Ryou gave her a small wave. "If you have trouble with their language, don't hesitate to call me. I'm good with the English language."

Bakura kept his usual expression, and chose to ignore her. However, he did mumble something. "Learn how to fight so you won't put yourself in danger."

Yami gave her a gentle smile. "I'm glad you are able to accomplish your goals. You'll be able to reach your dreams soon. Remember to believe in yourself, and don't give up. You were able to reach this far, so don't let it go to waste."

Yugi nodded, and smiled at her. "We're here for you, Tea. Give us a call once you reach there. We got your back, and we'll throw you a huge 'welcome back' party once you're on break. You'll do great, and we'll cheer for your performances."

Tea gave him a grateful smile. "Thank you, Yugi." She smiled at the others. "Everyone, thank you for supporting me. I won't rest until I achieve my dream in becoming a professional dancer."

She remembered something and glanced between Yami & Bakura. "Yami, promise me that you will keep Yugi happy and you'll never make him cry or hurt him. The same goes for you, Bakura. If you two ever upset Yugi & Ryou, I won't hesitate to strangle you both with my own two feet. The same warning applies to Seto if he never hurts Joey, and I know Ishizu will hurt Mariku if he ever makes Malik cry."

Her killing intent frightened them, and Yami quickly nodded his head while Bakura tried not to be afraid. Sadly, it's too strong and Bakura held onto Ryou's hand. "I think she'll be okay in the big city."

Ryou gave him a comforting smile and squeezed his hand. "She's strong and smart. She'll know what to do."

"I'll let Seto know on what you just said," Joey commented.

Tea beamed. "Good! Now, wish me luck you guys. I'll see you all soon in either Thanksgiving or Winter Break!"

Giving them the victory sign, along with high-fiving everyone, she held her carry-on bag and spun around to head towards the security checkpoint. As she went through the checkpoint with ease, she gave them one final wave and disappeared into the crowd, arriving at her terminal.

The gang waved back, and went outside to get a clear view on the planes flying near the airport entrance. As they waited, they spotted Tea's plane flying over into the air. Tristan and Ryou waved, while everyone else watched it fly away as the wind blew against them. They were happy for Tea, and glad she is able to study abroad in New York for her dance program.

Yugi softly smiled, happy for his friend. He's also glad they had a heart-to-heart talk a few days ago. She knew that his and Yami's bond went beyond from partners to lovers. He couldn't avoid the topic any longer. Luckily, they were able to have a conversation about it and she accepted it. It did surprise her, but she was happy for the both of them. As long as Yami is treating Yugi right, she'll give them her full blessing.

He had a feeling she would threaten Yami, but had no idea she would also threaten Bakura, Seto, and Mariku. He's glad to have a kind, protective, and understanding friend like Tea. She's like the mother in the group, and she makes sure they're safe from harm.

"But don't forget, I'd like to be the godmother once the two of you are ready to get married and start a family together. I'm also great with babysitting."

His cheeks turned red, remembering that conversation. Right now, they just finished high school and it's a little too early for marriage. Yami is working at Kaiba Corporations, mostly with duels, and they are making a good income. Combined with the game shop, they're still comfortable living upstairs. They'll wait and see when they're ready to take the next step forward. Right now, Yami recalled his past memory as pharaoh when he played with some cats.

"Aibou?"

Yugi turned his head, noticing Yami looking at him with worry. "Is something wrong, other me?"

Yami tilted his head, and poked Yugi's cheek. "Your cheeks are red. Are you okay?"

"I-I am. Just happy that Tea is close to achieving her dreams."

"Me too. She worked extremely hard to reach her goals, and she's getting close."

"Now, its our turn," Yugi smiled, and held his hand. "We gotta work hard on our dreams as well."

Yami smiled and nodded. "Agreed. You will design an amazing game, and I'll continue to duel as the King of Games until we're ready to pass on the title."

"Or until Kaiba tries to defeat you."

"He can try, but he'll never win."

Joey snickered. "Mokie and I will make sure he doesn't get too obsessed with defeating you, Yams. After all, he has a company to run."

"Along with needing mental help," Tristan added.

"Amen," Duke replied.

"Agreed. Kaiba must learn there is more to life than dueling," Solomon sighed.

"The priest is nuts. He's too stubborn to listen to anyone," Bakura placed his hands behind his head. "He needs a good hit to the head."

"Kura, violence isn't the answer," Ryou scolded him.

"To me it is. The priest's brain is broken."

"Its still not nice to insult Seto Kaiba."

"Don't care. Still don't like him."

At night

"Mou hitori no boku?"

"Yes, aibou?"

Yugi placed his hands on his stomach, dressed in his sky blue pajamas with stars on them while lying on the bed. "What do you think will happen if you had never came back from the afterlife?"

Yami gazed at the ceiling, dressed in a black tank top and silky black pajama pants while lying down next to him. "I do not know. I'll probably live the same lifestyle over and over again." He turned his head to gaze at him. "I would've been unable to save you from Goddess Wadjet, and you would probably be taken into the afterlife with her. That is something I cannot allow her to do."

"You also wouldn't get all of your memories back," Yugi turned to lie down on his side to face Yami. "You wouldn't remember Heba, Viola, or the snake gems. Even though they took those memories away to spare you the pain, you still felt it linger in your heart."

Yami frowned, nodding his head as he also turned to lie on his side to face his aibou. "It still hurts more than anything. I understand they had no other choice, but altering my memories is worse than anything. If Goddess Hathor hadn't allowed Akefia, Heru, and me to return to the land of living, we wouldn't have known parts of our memories were still missing. We would've been too late to save you, Ryou, and Malik, and also not get all of our memories back."

"But now, you 3 were able to return to the land of living and save us. We're thankful and happy that you guys have living, breathing bodies now."

"That we are. We managed it, and did everything we can to save you 3 from Goddess Wadjet. Not only that, we even faced Nehebkau and saw the snake gems."

"And now, there will be no more danger. Only love and peace."

"You're right about that," Yami smiled, and caressed his cheek with the back of his hand. "I am happy you're safe, aibou. I'm also happy to return back to you. If I hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to figure out that my feelings for you were deeper than anything."

"And I would still be hung up over your departure," Yugi intertwined his fingers with Yami's hand. "I missed you so much. I can never stop thinking about you, and I never got the chance to tell you how much you meant to me." He held Yami's hand close to his chest. "I had no idea I was slowly falling in love with you right before you departed. I didn't even realize it until Nehebkau nearly took you away from me. It made me realize that I loved you. Not as a brother, but as a lover."

A tear slid down Yugi's cheek, but he chose to ignore it. "I won't lose you again, Yami. As your light, I promise to protect you no matter what. You are my whole world."

Yami wiped away his tear, and kissed his nose. "You are my entire life. As your darkness, I'll always protect you and stay by your side for all eternity. I'll never let anything separate us."

"Not even death?"

"Then death will have to take both of us. It's hard to live without the other. Both light and darkness need each other."

"Without the other, its hard to survive. Its painful to endure living without the other half of your soul."

"Which is why I won't let anything take me away from you. You mean so much to me, akhu. I love you with all my heart."

"I too love you with all my heart, kwwy. My heart only loves you and only you."

They leaned in and kissed each other, embracing each other as they deepened the kiss. Yugi's fingers ran through Yami's hair, while Yami is feeling Yugi's figure. Whispers of 'I love you' were heard throughout the room, either in Egyptian or Japanese. They knew what the other is saying, along with their emotions are feeling through their mind link.

The room felt hot to them, but didn't care since the only warmth they felt is from each other, mostly by touch. As their bodies rubbed against each other, their kisses became passionate. Soon, they discarded their clothes and continued to kiss and touch while feeling each other up.

Kisses became hot, along with their touch, and their bodies were covered with red marks. It was hard not to make too much noise, but the bed continued to squeak as they continued to dance with one another. Sweat started to appear, along with panting and moaning. They continued to go at it all night long, as the moon and stars shined their light on them, creating an alluring night.

In the afterlife

"Goddess Wadjet, it is an honor to meet you."

Wadjet, in her human form while wearing Egyptian clothing, ushered her guest to sit down on the chair across from her. "No need to bow, my dear. I am pleased you came to visit me."

Akila, who is also Atem's mother, bowed again and sat down on the chair across from her. "I must show my respects, my goddess. You are a very powerful deity, and I do not wish to anger you."

Goddess Wadjet waved her off. "There is no need." She gave Akila a gentle smile. "Tell me, are you worried about your son?"

"H-How did you-

"A mother knows best. I too feel the same for my son. There's no need to worry. They're both okay."

Akila bit her bottom lip. "My goddess, I fully supported Atem to let him reunite with the one he loved. I am happy for him, but I still worry though. Is he doing okay? Was he able to reunite with his soulmate? Is he keeping himself out of trouble?" She placed her hands together on her lap. "That is why I came to you. You're also a mother, and you have 3 sons. How do you know they're okay?"

Wadjet pushed a strand of hair behind her ear, humming for a minute and then gazed at Akila. "At first, I still mourned over their deaths. I wasn't ready to let them go, which is why I left the afterlife to look for their reincarnations." She gazed at her lap. "I was so blind at gaining my sons back, that I almost lost full control of myself. I ended up breaking my promise to protect the pharaoh, and never cause harm to the mortal realm. If it weren't for the pharaoh and his friends, then I wouldn't have regained my senses."

She touched her snake necklace. "I couldn't stop crying when I was able to talk to my sons again. They were able to move on, and found me in the afterlife. Now, their souls are at peace and reunited with me, our snake family, and with their mates. I realized that as a mother, it's our goal to guide them on the right path. It would be hard because you're letting them go, but it's for the best. Our children are growing up, and their happiness is important to us. Its our duty as parents to trust and support them."

Akila let her words sink in, and started to understand what she's saying. She too was unhappy when she died young. She missed the chance to see Atem growing up from a baby to a man. It was hard having to watch from afar while dead, but now she was able to reunite with her son and her husband. Everyone was happy to reunite with each other in the afterlife.

She and Atem were able to talk and create a bond as mother and son, something she truly wanted. He even told her stories on his recent adventures, and how the Millennium Puzzle got solved to release his spirit, thanks to a boy named Yugi Muto. The one boy her son can never stop talking about.

The one who held a special place in Atem's heart.

Akila had a feeling their bond is stronger than partners, but had to wait and see what Atem's feelings are towards Yugi Muto. Luckily, he was starting to realize his feelings when he couldn't stop missing over Yugi and his loved ones. That's why Akila let her son leave the palace with the bandit king, so they can both be with their soulmates. Even though she won't see her son again until he dies again and comes into the afterlife, her son's happiness is very important to her. Atem's smile makes her smile, and its something she'll always cherish.

"You are right, my goddess. As parents, our children's happiness is important. We want them to have a good life, and be ready to face the world head on."

"I am happy to hear that."

"I know they'll never forget us. We'll always remain in their hearts."

"For all eternity," Goddess Wadjet smiled. "Now, the next thing we must watch out for our children is for them to start a family." She hid her mouth with her hand while giggling. "There's a chance Yugi, Ryou, and Malik have the same abilities like my sons did."

"Abilities?" Akila asked.

Goddess Wadjet ushered her closer, and she whispered the answer to her, causing Akila to lean back in shock while looking at her in disbelief. "A-Are you certain, my goddess?"

Wadjet nodded her head. "I am certain, my dear. Its thanks to my snake blood they are given this ability. I'll also have to see if their radiant friend Joey would like to have the same abilities my sons did. He'll be able to start a family with his mate."

Akila blinked, and then realized something. "Is there a chance we'll both become grandmothers?"

"In due time. The first thing they must do is get married before they mate."

"Do they even know they have that ability?"

"They will soon once their symptoms show."

"I pray that Atem will follow tradition and marry first before mating with his lover."

"If they can control themselves," Goddess Wadjet giggled.

The End

Thank you everyone for reading this story! I am so glad that it became this popular, and everyone from around the world is viewing it!
