Twenty-three years had passed since Lloyd and his father reconciled. Lloyd was much older, now forty, and the other ninja were teaching their own students. Harumi was rehabilitated, and Lloyd reluctantly took her in. Turns out, she wasn't as bad as Lloyd thought she would be, and their love rekindled once more. They married and had a child, Sakura Elizabeth Garmadon. Lloyd and his father continued to remain close.

Until one fateful day...

Lloyd was in his father's room meditating

"S-son...come here..." Garmadon whispered weakly. "I cannot stay for long..."

Lloyd tensed and knelt beside his dying parent. He didn't want to watch him go, but he knew these would be the last moments he would spend with him. "N-No...father, stay with me..."

"I'm sorry...it has to be this way..." The older man's voice was raspy and low, and it hurt for him to even speak.

"N-No..." Lloyd pleaded. "Don't leave me..."

"Lloyd..." Garmadon reached up to stroke his son's cheek. "I love you so much... I will absolutely miss you..."

"DON'T LEAVE!" Lloyd gripped his father's wrist, sobbing uncontrollably. "NO! I CAN'T LOSE YOU!" His voice broke. "NOT AGAIN!"

"Please son, stay strong... I'll always be a part of you in your heart, no matter what happens to me..."

"I-" Lloyd stuttered in shock at the sight of his father's life slowly fading away. "I don't want you to leave..."

"I understand, but please stay strong... I cannot live much longer... As I have said, there will come a day in which I will truly leave this realm... And as much as I hate to say it, that day is today..."

The once-former ninja of energy let out a shuddering sigh at his father's words, collapsing to his knees, his head in his hands as he cried softly for a moment. He looked up and replied, "I love you too... I never wanted to see you leave me... I'll miss you...so much..."

"Shh..." Garmadon hushed quietly. "Please calm down...I know it hurts, but you'll have to pull through someday..."

"F-father..."

"H-Hey, it's alright... It's-" He let out a shuddering breath and passed on, his eyes fluttering shut.

"Please...NO!" Lloyd shrieked. "No..." He concentrated, summoning his golden powers, placing it gently on his father's chest. "Oh, please..."

It didn't help.

Deep within, Lloyd felt Garmadon's words come back to him: 'Remember, I'm still with you...'"

He closed his eyes for a moment, then smiled contentedly. You are... I loved you...I still miss you... I'll finish what you started...

"I'll see you...again..."
