Loop 70

There's a cloud causing chaos in the mafia.

He—as many claimed the cloud to be male— has been causing havoc in every famiglia. It doesn't matter of the famiglia is big or small. They would all be under the mercy of the unknown cloud's pranks.

Yes. Pranks.

The cloud would enter the famiglia territory undetected, cause disarray in the placement of everything, and take anything valuable to implement it on their pranks. It's safe to say that the valuable treasures won't be found unless you pit yourself on the way of the cloud's pranks. A note always on the end with an infuriating smiley face. And it's driving every victim mad.

The fact this unknown cloud sends a note in advance before doing all this and still be successful just adds fuel to the fire.

This brings them at Vongola's doors. A safety precaution as they say, although Verde simply snorts at this. Calling them, the strongest elements—and missing a cloud because Luce told them he suddenly couldn't be found— can not be called as simple safety precaution. Not with the mission papers.

Verde can't fully predict how this mission will go. Too many factors to consider and too wide of range. And seeing as this unknown cloud hasn't been caught yet even with the mafia's efforts, they're bound to be good.

Perhaps this is their missing cloud even.

That however is not worth the efforts of patrolling the Vongola's ridiculously long halls. He deeply wished he isn't dragged into this and going through theories that can cause scientific breakthroughs in his lab. Unfortunately, idiots aren't all that reliable and this ridiculous group of theirs Luce calls a team is proving to be annoying.

"Skull would love this," Reborn said from a distance, inspecting a painting.

Take the World's Greatest Hitman for example. Arrogant beyond belief and a lot of things Verde doesn't want to waste his time listing. The most annoying thing about him however is how absolutely smitten he is on his civilian partner.

The most feared man in the mafia, said to be an epitome of a mafiosi even, turning out to be this.

Verde doesn't even know he can still be disappointed in humanity.

"Is that so?" Verde hears Fon ask. His voice is lacking the underlying annoyance most of them have the moment Reborn utters the name of his precious civilian partner again. How he can have such temperance with storm flames running in him, he can not quite understand.

(But then again, all of them doesn't exactly fit the traditional element criteria.)

"Yes," Reborn said with a gleam in his eyes. Viper seems to have recognized it as they hissed.

"Do not."

Reborn arches a brow as he face the mist. "Do not what?" he said with a challenge in his voice. There is a thinly veiled threat to that as well, one that made them tense a bit.

A lovesick fool he may be, Reborn is still the strongest in the room. The fact he never really lets an opportunity to set his superiority clear is the reason he is still respected. No one wants to poke a sleeping dragon, much less an awake one that made it clear that they're staying simply for amusement.

"Yeah! As Viper said! Don't even think about stealing that painting!" A voice echoes in the halls, and it's not one Verde recognizes. It made all of them tense. All except Reborn, at least. Oh no. The bastard actually lights up.

"Skull," Reborn said with the familiar fond tone he usually directed to a phone. Now however, it's actually directed to a person. A person that, according to Reborn himself, should be a civilian. However they're currently standing at Vongola's halls.

Turning to the direction the hitman was looking at, Verde did a double take. He dully noted the others doing the same.

There, at the end of the ridiculously long and fancy hallway stood the proud and flashy form of a purple—and very much cloudy—man with excessive make up. He was grinning rather brightly and his voice was rather obnoxious that it made Verde wonder as to how this kind of man is the one Reborn would ever choose for a partner.

"Ren!"

(The following events after that is downright chaos. Because of course the hitman would fancy such a person that weaves it like it was a natural rule of the universe. Why did he even question the Hitman's romantic preference?

The fact that Luce insisted on chasing said cloud is all Verde needs to know in confirming that he is indeed their missing cloud.)

Loop 88

Tsuna doesn't really know the real nature of Reborn and Skull's relationship. He really thought he did, with Reborn calling Skull a lackey and all, but the scene he saw earlier proves otherwise. It honestly makes Reborn look a bit more human?

No, that's not it. Reborn is still the Spartan devil, and nothing will probably change it. Just, gentler? Soft, as unbelievable it was that Tsuna almost combusted out of sheer disbelief in the hospital's hallway if it weren't for the nurse that asked him if he's alright.

(It was really embarrassing how he flinched when the nurse touched his shoulder and Reborn will surely know and make him go through hell soon.

But he can't help it!!)

"Idiot," Tsuna remembers Reborn saying to the bandaged Skull as he hits the Cloud Arcobaleno's head. It doesn't look like it hurts at all.

Skull apologized softly, and there was something in his voice that made it vastly different from his loud and boisterous one before. His voice being that soft being unusual in the first place aside. It made his intuition react a bit, but Tsuna isn't sure what it means. Nevermind that he was freaking out at the door.

It was only the view of the wide sky at the balcony that made him safe to wonder about it for a bit. Until a familiar weight landed on his head anyway, and then he was pushed to more worrying events afterwards.

(Tsuna looks and can't really tell the exact difference until years later—and Reborn actually lied about his hitman friend since it was actually him— and oh.

So it's like that.)

Loop 1

They were in a cave, a weird rainbow gem at the middle. They were sent here to retrieve the strange gem that was said to be causing problems. Tsunayoshi got the bright idea of sending both the former cloud and sun Arcobaleno together in hopes of resolving the tension between them.

Wrong move really.

Both of them don't remember how the argument started. All they know is that they ended up having a screaming match (well, only Skull is screaming) right in front of the gem they were looking for.

"So look lackey, I don't want to deal with that dame student of mine's annoying disappointed stares. He won't stop giving it to me even if I give him challenging training. So Cooperate." The hitman glares at his companion, looking absolutely furious.

"No, I'm done. Deal with it!" The stunts shouts, a complicated expression on his face. One the hitman never saw before.

He paid it no mind as he insisted with gritted teeth, "It would be just us getting along for a few weeks lackey. Stop acting like I wanted this."

"Oh yeah? Well it would take a hundred lifetimes for me to get along with you, so suck it up you asshole!"

The gem suddenly lights up, making both men stop and turn to it in surprise.

"W-wait, why is it suddenly—!" the stuntman tried to say but was cutted off as rainbow colored light engulfed both of them.

When the light dimmed, the cave now quiet, it looked like no one ever entered it at all.
