So I was looking through my old stories and clearing them out when I saw this one. I was like ight what the hell and so now I'm continuing it again.
The next morning I woke up and hit my head on the bed above me, forgetting that I was on the bottom bunk. Still shaken up from Jack's threats, I groggily rolled out of bed and into the bathroom. After brushing my teeth and getting dressed, Ostin and I went back to the tenth floor to eat breakfast.
Jack, Ian, Mikayla and Julia shared a table, as did Zeus, Tessa and Abygail. Nichelle sat alone at a far table in the restaurant, shutting the world out with her headphones in.
I sat down with Ostin at a table that Taylor was already occupying. "Good morning handsome," she said, ruffling my hair with her fingers.
"What are you eating?" I asked, jerking my chin towards her plate. Half of it had already been chowed on, but the remainder looked really good. "Fried bread and egg pancakes with rice balls," she replied cheerily.
I signalled for the waitress and asked her for what Taylor was having. Ostin ordered the oven baked cake. She nodded curtly before leaving us to talk privately.
"How are you feeling?" asked Taylor as she pressed the back of her hand against my forehead. "Good," I said, brushing her hand away. "But tired."
She nodded. "Yeah, I went to bed pretty late last night too."
Our friendly chatter was soon drowned out by screams as men in black in black gi burst through the window. "Time to go," I said, grabbing Taylor's hand. She pulled away from me. "I have to get Nichelle!" she shouted over the rising volume in the room. I lost her in a sea of people running for the exit.
The rest of the Electroclan was looking at me, unsure of what to do. Julia pushes out of the group, then sprinted for the stairs that led to the roof. Of course! The team followed after her, and I pulled out my phone and called the Christmas Ranch. I took one last glance sound the room, searching for Taylor and Nichelle. They were nowhere to be seen. I followed the Electroclan onto the roof.
We were the only people up here, other than the Lung Li. A helicopter was touching down a few buildings in front of us. I ran towards it as fast as could, but that's when I spotted Taylor out of the corner of my eye.
One of the Lung Li slammed a baton across her collarbone, and she crumpled to the ground like a paper bag. I screamed her name, but Julia was there to help her. She attacked the man from behind and choked him. She leaped onto his back and brought his head down against the clay shingles. He didn't get back up.
She threw Taylor over her shoulder and ran faster than any human should be able to towards the chopper. The Lung Li gave chase, but she zigzagged and dodged their punches, all while closing the gap between her and the helicopter.
I started running toward it as well, leaping from rooftop to rooftop until I made it to the ladder. I hoisted myself up, leaving Julia and Taylor as the last to board the chopper. One of the Lung Li managed to grab her ankle, and she stumbled before she was able to kick him in the face.
But she had lost a lot of time already. She wasn't going to make it.
That's when Jack leaped out of nowhere, knocking out Lung Li left and right. Julia was able to make it to the base of the ladder, as was Jack. They began their ascent, grabbing rung after rung as the helicopter took off, leaving the Lung Li as black specks in the distance.
They finally made it to the cabin, breathing heavily. Julia gingerly laid down Taylor, and Abygail began healing her. Julia collapsed on the ground and her eyes fluttered closed. Jack scooped her up and took a seat on the bench, holding her in his lap.
The ride to the Christmas Ranch was eerily silent.
That's it for now. I'm going to try and keep these chapters short and sweet.
