Chapter 1

A 17 year old Ezra had surprising found sanctuary on what he now knew as the planet of Mandalore. He was currently staying in a cave after leaving the Ghost. He didn't know whether it would be forever or just temporary but he needed to be away from them for now.

They had just recently freed Kanan from the clutches of the Empire and his endless torture. It had taken Ezra days to find out where Kanan was and where the Empire was moving him to. He had to bribe, offer favours and manipulate people's minds using the force.

Once he had found out that Kanan was being moved to Mustafar, he knew he didn't have much time and acted swiftly. Getting into the Star Destroyer was easy, too easy. There had been almost no stormtroopers in the docking bay and had gotten through it quickly.

Arriving at the holding cells had taken a bit longer due to some resistance but had arrived unscathed. He had gone into the Destroyer himself and left the others in the docking area to keep the Ghost secure from the Empire. The holding cell Kanan was occupying had a lot strong resistance around it and would take more time to get pass. Getting passed the heavy stormtroopers had not been easy but he dealt with them nonetheless.

Opening the cell to of Kanan's prison he spotted him sitting on the floor meditating.

"Come on, we are leaving" said Ezra quickly.

"You came for me" said Kanan surprised.

"Yes, now let's go" said Ezra.

Helping Kanan up off the floor, Ezra hands over his lightsaber. He had found it on the guards standing outside the cell and took it for kanan.

"To the Ghost" commanded Kanan.

"We need to disable the tractor beam" replied Ezra.

"How?" asked Kanan.

"The engine room" offered Ezra.

Arriving in the engine room, the two Jedi padawans started destroying anything that looked remotely important.

Suddenly a voice sounded from the doorway. Standing in the doorway was the reason for many of their problems recently and most recently Kanan's imprisonment, the Grand Inquisitor.

Going somewhere asked the Inquisitor, mockly.

Kanan didn't reply and just got into a defensive position.

Ezra didn't remember much else as he was knocked unconscious shortly after but something the Inquisitor said had actually scared Kanan.

Shortly after arriving back on the Ghost, Kanan had instantly started going into Ezra about his recklessness and his lack of discipline. He had even blamed Ezra for his capture and basically said that everything that had gone wrong was Ezra's fault.

Deciding he had heard enough from Kanan, Ezra just walked away to be somewhere quiet in the Ghost but ended up thinking about his past with the crew of the Ghost.

He had spent the his time, since joining the crew being belittled, untrusted, blamed for everything that went wrong and given the dirty jobs. What Kanan said though had hurt him a little. kanan had said, nothing will stop him from turning to the dark side.

He decided to steal one of the Rebel ships. After their help escaping the Empire the Ghost had docked onto the mothership of the Rebels and had been in contemplation about joining the rebellion after their offer.

This is how he found himself on mandalore.

Being caught up in his faults, Ezra didn't notice the two Mandalorian warriors approaching him. Feeling a hand on his shoulder, brings him back out of his thoughts. Looking up he sees two warriors and gets nervous.

"What are you doing here?" asked the closest.

"Just trying to survive" replied Ezra.

You can't stay here. "What is your name?" asked the other warrior.

"Ezra Bridger" said Ezra, confused.

"Take him to Lady Kryze, she can deal with him" said the first warrior.

Being dragged into a throne room, Ezra was pushed onto his knees before a women sitting in a throne.

"We found him in one of the caves. He says his name is Ezra Bridger" said a warrior.

"You may leave" said Lady Kryze.

Once the warriors have left the room Lady Kryze gets up off the throne and walks to him.

"Rise, I wish to see your face properly" ordered Lady Kryze.

With a bit of hesitation Ezra gets up and looks directly into Lady Kryze's eyes.

Upon seeing his face Lady Kryze lets out a gasp, "you have his eyes" she exclaimed.

Who's eyes? asked Ezra.

My son, my son that I lost and have been looking for since said Lady kryze, sadly but without showing it.

"You think that he is me?" asked Ezra, amused.

"I have a feeling that you are" replied Lady Kryze.

Shaking himself out of his shock, Ezra replies "How do we know for sure?" asked Ezra.

"We can have a DNA test done on you and me to check" explained Lady Kryze.

After waiting for 30 minutes for the results of the test to come back a healer comes in with the results. Handing them over to Lady Kryze she opens them, "matched" whispered Lady Kryze.

"My son has returned" exclaimed Lady Kryze, happily.

She grabs hold of Ezra and hugs him like he would disappear at any moment.

"You still haven't told me your name" said Ezra, awkwardly.

Still holding onto Ezra she looks at him and replies, "my name is Bo-Katan and I'm your mother".

Ezra was shocked and didn't for a few minutes but then hugged her back as well.

Releasing him, Bo-katan said she would show him to a room to get some rest.

"Thank you, I am tired" replied Ezra.

Standing outside a guest room Bo-katan explained his future rooms. "This will be your room until we have initiated your return to the rest of the clan. Once that has happened, you will be staying in your quarters in the royal family chambers".

"Ok" said Ezra, tiredly.

Once the door had closed Bo-katan went to the healers to discuss her plan for the next day. Arriving at the door she opened it and looked around for the same healer as earlier.

"Manda" said Bo-katan.

"How can I help you, Lady Kryze?" asked Manda.

"Tomorrow when Ezra wakes up I want you to do a full health assessment on him, check for everything. Understood order" Bo-katan.

"Yes, Lady kryze. I will make the top priority for tomorrow" said Manda, obediently.

"Good" said Bo-katan and then left for her room for the night.

The next morning, Ezra had just finished getting dressed when he heard a knock on the door. Opening it up he saw a Mandalorian warrior.

"Can I help you?" asked Ezra.

"Lady Kryze has ordered me to take you to the healers" said the warrior.

"Alright but why?" asked Ezra, confused.

"She didn't say, now let's go" said the warrior.

Entering the healing chambers, Ezra saw the same healer from yesterday setting up something and his mother standing nearby. It was still new and slightly weird calling her his mum but he was beginning to like it.

"You may leave" said Bo-katan to the warrior.

"Why am I here?" asked Ezra.

"You are going to have a health assessment" replied Bo-katan.

"Erm, ok" said Ezra, nervously. He knew he was that healthy from living on the streets but he didn't know how bad.

The nervousness did not go unnoticed by Bo-katan but needed this done.

"Come and lay down underneath this machine, it will scan your body for anything pertaining your health" said Manda.

Once Ezra was laying under the machine Manda turned it on. Once they had been waiting for more than ten minutes to finished Manda and Bo-katan started to get worried, it normally only took five minutes for the scan to be completed. It was another ten minutes before the machine finished and it only meant one thing for the scan to take so long, there was a lot wrong with him.

Reading the results, Manda let out a gasp.

Name: Ezra Kryze

Age: 17

Parents: Mother: Bo-katan Kryze, Father: Unidentifiable

Species: Human

Homeworld: Mandalore

Health Status: Alive

Health Warnings: Malnourishment, Scars, strong Force inhibitors, Mind inhibitors.

Heir of Clan Kryze

Possible Heir of Darth Revan

"What, yet me see" demanded Bo-Katan.

After reading the results of her sons test, she was angry, happy and surprised. she was angry with his malnourishment and inhibitors but not much about the scar as Mandalore's believed that scars held stories and were apart of warriors. She was surprised about him being force sensitive but not as much as him being a possible heir of Darth Revan but she was mostly happy that he was still the heir of her clan.

"I want his malnourishment corrected, do want needs to be done to ensure it's completed. Get rid of the inhibitors as well, they serve no purpose on my son" ordered Bo-katan.

"He will have to be put to sleep for a few weeks while we correct the malnourishment. We will connect him to a food supply so it doesn't make it worse. We can remove the inhibitors at the same time" explained Manda.

"Good, I will come by to see him during the evenings" said Bo-katan.

Four weeks later Bo-katan walked in to the healing chamber to see Ezra getting out of the bed. He looked a lot healthier than he did before the treatment. He had now put on some weight and his muscles were visible. He stood a couple of inches taller than her and eyes were bright and full of energy. Thanks to her insistence, his hair was shorter as well. His hair was cut short around the back and sides underneath his curtains and the curtains itself had decreased by half of it's length, still the same hairstyle but a lot smarter and more practical when fighting. His hair no longer clumped up into lots of locks but flowed more freely.

Bo-katan was happy, she finally had her son back and he was now healthy.

"How do you feel?" asked Bo-katan.

"I feel more powerful, more connected to the force. I can feel it's flow within me" said Ezra, happily.

"That is good news but I meant physically" replied Bo-katan, amused but still happy the treatment worked.

"Oh, I feel stronger like I'm no longer weak and fragile" said Ezra sheepishly.

"Excellent. Now I would like to know more about you and what you have gotten up to since you've been gone" requested Bo-katan.

"Alright" sighed Ezra.

Gesturing for his mother to sit down Ezra explained everything about his life, starting from his now adoptive parents, moving onto his life on the streets, working for the gangs, joining the spectres, learning about the force and then finally his missions with the Ghost crew, fighting the grand Inquisitor and the Empire to saving Kanan and his argument with Kanan afterwards.

Bo-katan was feeling a number of different emotions. She felt a large amount of pride for her son, his ability to stay alive in hard times and fight the empire face to face without training was amazing and she knew he would become a great warrior and leader but his bravery wouldn't go unrewarded. She was angry that there was no one to look after him when he was on the streets and how the Ghost treated him, she knew what would happen to them if they ever met.

"I'm proud of you Ezra. You won't have to go with the spectres again, if you don't want to" said Bo-katan, a little afraid he would leave her again.

Noticing this Ezra replied "I'm not going anywhere, without my family".

Smiling Bo-katan moved on the discussion. "In six months time there will be a ceremony in the throne to announce your return to the Clan. For now I will have some of my warriors teach you of our culture and traditions as well as our Clan traditions. You will also learn how to fight in the many different forms of martial arts, mandalorian fighting styles and our Clans own variation of the martial arts forms" informed Bo-katan.

Six Months Later

The aftermath of his training had only produced positive results. Ezra had packed on a lot of muscle but was still just as agile as he was before, this made him a dangerous opponent in a fight. Ezra could hit with either strength or speed and it would really hurt and he was fast at dodging his opponents attacks despite in knew found body mass.

Ezra had also learnt from the Clans elders all about the traditions and culture of Mandalore and more importantly in his eyes the traditions of Clan Kryze. He had still yet to learn the mandalorian language Mando'a but luckily everyone spoke basic.

It was now the ceremony and Ezra was kneeling in front of his mother who was sitting in her throne.

"Today we do not just celebrate the return of our heir, my son but of his courage and bravery in the face of danger. Today we have the honour of awarding Ezra Kryze with Jaig eyes" said Bo-katan with pride.

Bo-katan gestured for one of the warrior to bring the helmet she had made for Ezra, it was the same colours as hers light blue and gray. Once receiving the helmet Bo-katan pressed an imprint onto the helmet above the eyes. The colour of the Jaig eyes were black and had the same design as captain rex's from the clone wars. Once it was done she imprinted a wolf's head above the Jaig eyes also in the colour of black, she left this would be appropriate considering his connection to the planet Lothal.

After Bo-katan had finished with the helmet she gestured to another warrior holding the rest of the armour she had made. Taking it from him Bo-katan got up and walked over to Ezra.

In her hands where two blasters similar to her own and his armour all the same colour as hers except for the Jaig eyes and the wolf.

"Rise my son, take your place as heir and wear your amour proudly" said Bo-katan.

Getting up Ezra took the armour and changed into it. Once the helmet was on Bo-katan step forwards and attached a ribbon pauldron to the left side of his chest. The pauldron was only one line instead of the two lines that his mother wore, it showed his rank as heir.

"Welcome home" said Bo-katan, happily.

"Thank you, mother" said Ezra, Just as happy.
