Hi, everyone, MarcellusMiro66 here! This is a DuckTales story that (if the title didn't give the plot away) is a reversal of "Is He Jealous? Jealous AND in Denial" by Artsystar357. I loved that story so much that I decided to reimagine it in reverse: Webby in Dewey's position, Dewey in Webby's position. That's all there is to it. I don't own that story, nor the cartoon that this story is based upon. I'm just a fan of both. So, with that said...

Enjoy! If you can...

"Who the heck is that girl?"

Webby stormed into the triplets' room, hurling her backpack as she flopped onto Dewey's bed. She, along with Huey and Louie, had just returned from school, with the exception of Dewey. The blue-coded sibling had decided to walk home a temporary exchange student for the time being. The last thing they ("they" being Webby) saw before returning home was the exchange student softly sneaking a hand into Dewey's.

"That's the new exchange student from Denmark, Webby," Huey commented as he worked on his homework with one hand, his chin propped up by the other.

"New exchange student? Name of Rita? From Denmark? ...Who also happens to be a FOX? Ever heard of any those?" Louie paused the video he was watching to turn towards Webby.

"Yes, I know. But why Rita is holding hands with Dewey? I'm sensing some kind of strange danger...possibly human trafficking."

Huey's pencil snapped at that thought, not caring how or why Webby knew such infernal subject matter. He turned to face her with an annoyed yet concerned (mostly the former, though) frown just as Lena walked in with corn chips.

"All right, Webby. This is where I draw the line. You're overthinking this scenario WAY too much. I'm sure that Dewey merely desired to be a Good Samaritan, that's all."

Lena watched as Webby sat up and turned away from the two boys...and for very good reason.

"Besides, why would you care so much about this? It's basically Dewey to trying to make friends outside of us."

"Because I... I just don't trust Rita!"

"But why? Just what exactly is wrong with Rita? All she did was hold Dewey's hand as they walked home!"

"THAT'S EXACTLY THE PROBLEM! CAN'T YOU SEE? WHY WOULD RITA BE THE ONE TO DESERVE HIM?! I SHOULD BE THE ONE TO HOLD HIS HAND!"

. . .

Damn.

The moment Webby realized her mistake was the moment Webby was too late. She clamped her hands over her beak, the blush on her cheeks turning tomato red as sweat dripped down her forehead.

"Wait...what?" Huey tilted his head in confused intrigue.

"Aw...shoot." Webby kept muttering the same word on replay, well aware that there was no taking back that ill-timed confession now. In addition to the blush and sweat, her entire body felt as if it were on fire as she hugged her knees.

Genuine bewilderment was Huey's strong suit in this situation, but it certainly wasn't Louie and Lena's. The two of them immediately caught on when they both exchanged knowing glances. They then started to bust a gut or two in the midst of their fits of laughter; Lena formed tears, while Louie clutched his stomach.

"Oh, my Land!" Louie howled out, "I can't stop!"

"This is too good!" Lena cackled out, "I'm calling this...Debbigail!"

Debbi...what? Huey glanced back and forth between the two laughing ducks and the one sitting duck, still plagued with confusion galore.

"Huey! Do you serious not get what's happening here?"

"Louie, shut up..."

"Get what...?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

"Lena, not you too..."

"No, I don't."

"LOUIE, LENA, I SWEAR – !"

"Webby is blushing, Huey."

"AAAHHH!"

Webby had just turned to scream in utter agony at Louie and Lena...which proved to be her ultimate undoing as Huey got a clear view of her entire composure. Shades of pink and red (redder than the clothes he was wearing) was all he needed to take in, the gears in his head grinding as he reached the inevitable reasonable conclusion.

"OH! You're jealous?" Huey smirked as he crossed his arms.

"I... I am not."

"Yep, that's a lie," Lena chortled just as Louie acquired the nerve to regain his laughter.

"So..." Huey couldn't help but comment on Webby's situation, "You're just jealous that Rita has her paws all over Dewey?"

"JEALOUS AND IN DENIAL!"

"AAARGH!"

At Louie's remark, Webby snatched up a pillow and slammed it over the back of her head, shielding any visible facial parts as she knelt on the bed...to which Huey commented on again, "Webby, take the pillow off your head. You look like a turtle."

CLICK! SNAP!

Huey and Webby turned to find Louie and Lena taking pictures of the latter on their phones.

"HAHAHA! YOU'RE REDDER THAN HUEY'S OWN CLOTHES!" Louie guffawed.

Lena snickered in return, "We're totally using this as blackmail to show Dewey."

At that, Webby scowled at them both and marched towards them with a death glare, Huey attempting desperately to hold her back, "No, don't you dare..."

"Hi, everyone! I'm back!"

Needless to say, that was not the scene Dewey was expecting to see when he strolled into his bedroom. Absolute puzzlement crossed his facial expression. While they all were staring at him, Louie and Lena were taking photos of a clearly panicking Huey pulling back... A furious Webby? Well, riddle me this:

How did Lena get here, when did Lena get here, and why did Lena go here?

"Oh my gosh. Webby, you okay?" Hurling his backpack onto his bed, Dewey placed one hand on Webby's forehead and felt the heat being transferred to his feathered hand. Webby herself somehow felt her cheeks turn darker than they already should, and not because of the embarrassing state Dewey found her in. It was also because of her close contact with him; in fact, she mentally moaned at his touch.

"I... I'm just not feeling well."

"Ha! Yeah, it's just nothing but butter – "

CRUNCH!

Lena winced/Louie yelped out in pain as Huey had stomped down on the former's foot hard. Amazingly enough, Dewey never noticed the hijinks occurring right behind him, but this lack of attention to detail can be attributed to the fact that he was more concerned about Webby's wellbeing. He exited the room and headed downstairs, but not before calling out to her.

"Don't worry, Webby! I'll go get Mrs. Beakley and Uncle Scrooge! They'll know what to do!"

Webby managed a smile as Dewey left the room, but that smile quickly disappeared the minute her ears perked up at Louie and Lena's laughter. She hugged herself as she curled into a ball right on the floor, Huey approaching from behind to pat her back and shoot her a sympathetic look. It was the moment that nobody wouldn't never live down.

Actually, it would be one of the many moments.

A/N: The fox character named Rita is not an OC. There's this animated movie from Denmark called Jungledyret Hugo that centers on an anthropomorphic mammal called Hugo; his best friend/love interest is a fox named Rita. I decided to add her here because it's one of my guilty pleasures.

A second chapter is incoming...
