Black.

To most it is an endless expanse. Something to be feared and avoided. It represented darkness, despair, and danger. But not to Izuku Midoriya.

To him it was a wondrous color. Plenty of pro heroes used it in their costumes to great effect. He always thought Takoyami's shadow was cool, and he felt the same about Mr. Aizawa and Ectoplasm.

It had been present throughout his life.

The night sky intrigued him. Complete darkness scared him. The right placement on a costume excited him. It had brought many emotions out of him as he grew, but at this moment he found himself feeling a new sensation.

"Izuku, dear. What's wrong?"

Momo placed the freshly prepared tea under his nose. Lavender. The smell was always appealing, he had only just started getting used to the taste of it.

"Are you still sore from yesterday?"

Deku's cheeks burned red the longer he looked into her concerned eyes. They were the same shade as her hair.

"N-no I'm fine!" He'd had enough. He quickly looked away. "I was just thinking about something."

She smiled as he fidgeted. Even after all this time he couldn't look her in the eyes for too long.

"Well don't get too lost in thought. We have to leave for work in an hour."

"R-right."

Deku slowly sipped the tea as Momo returned to the kitchen. He watched intently, his ears perking as she began humming. Her long hair swayed back and forth in the light. It wasn't often she let it down, but he was thankful whenever she did.

Black.

To most it is an endless expanse. Something to be feared and avoided. It represented darkness, despair, and danger. But not to Izuku Midoriya.

As long as it belonged to her, it was the most beautiful color in the world.

A quick and dirty one shot about one of my favorite MHA ships. I've been thinking of doing one on them for a while, but I could never find a topic to write about. Then I saw a picture of Momo with her hair down, and the rest is history. Inspiration does strike at the weirdest times.

As always leave a comment/review letting me know what you think. Thanks for reading! :)
