Prologue

In the aftermath of the war with The Metarex, peace finally reigned across the galaxy despite great loses from the war. However, nothing lasts forever, back when Cosmo's people were still around they were at war with an unknown enemy, who it was remained a mystery for the days to come, but now the unknown foe has once again awaken.

In an unknown region of space, a station was seen hovering in the middle of nowhere when it slowly powers up, inside, several creatures were seen waking up from deep slumber and roaming the halls, they were a giant Brain like alien with pink tentacles and one eye called Xordas. Their leader who was bigger then the others slowly woke up and was greeted by a male A.I.

"Good morning, Your highness," the Xorda A.I. greeted.

"Morning, what's our status?" The Xorda leader asked.

"Well we have been asleep for nearly 10 years and in hiding ever since those Metarex showed up, systems are fully operational and we are at full power, you should also know that our enemy the Seedrians have long been eradicated, declaring us the victor of the war we've been locked into for so long," the Xorda A.I. Explained making the Xorda leader happy.

"Perfect, if there's one thing I hated it was those seedrians," the Xorda leader pointed out.

"You should also know, one of their kind survived and with the help of a few unknown animal like humanoid specimens defeated the Metarex," the Xorda A.I. continued.

"And is this survivor dead?" The Xorda leader asked.

"Yes," the Xorda A.I. answered.

"Good. Nearly ten years and we are back on top, let's see what this seedrianless galaxy has to offer," the Xorda leader said taking a seat and looks out to a massive fleet of ships similar to his, "this galaxy will be ours."

Chapter 1

On an unknown planet, a male human in a red jacket and black pants, a orange mustache named Dr. Eggman is seen overlooking his base which was on full alert.

"Doctor Eggman, the entire bass is under lockdown and with the help of the salvaged Metarex technology, he shouldn't be able to break through like last time," a tall golden robot named Decoe who was accompanied by a male thin grey robot named Bocoe said.

"Good, hopefully it'll keep him out long enough," Dr. Eggman said before getting back to work, outside a blue male hedgehog in red and white gloves named Sonic is seen racing across Dr. Eggman's base destroying robots along the way.

"Tails, what do you got?" Sonic asked, above him in a grey futuristic fighter jet with four wings in the shape of an x was a male orange/yellow two tailed fox with red shoes and white gloves named Tails was seen scanning the base and finds that its containing technology from an alien race called the Metarex.

"Knuckles was right, Sonic, Eggman's definitely using Metarex technology to enhance his," Tails pointed out before he spots several canons aiming at him, "that's not good." The canons started firing at Tails forcing him to maneuver away from the shots. Nearby a male red Echidna in red, green boots and gloves with spikes named Knuckles was seen watching with a female white bat in a black jumpsuit named Rouge.

"It's looking like a war zone over there, you sure you don't want to help?" Rouge asked.

"Hm, you know that I have to protect the master emerald, besides, it could just be a distraction," Knuckles answered looking behind him to see a giant green emerald completely fragmented from their war with the Metarex.

"Hmm, suit yourself," Rouge said before flying off. Back with Sonic who attempted to break down a sealed door, but was unsuccessful.

"Hey Tails, give your big bro a hand here would you?" Sonic asked before Tails fires a missile at the door, but when the smoked cleared, there was hardly any damage.

"Your kidding me!" Tails said surprised.

"What now?" Sonic asked himself.

"I'm not sure, Sonic, there isn't really any way to get through and without the chaos emeralds I don't see how we can possibly outmatch him," Tails answered.

"Hate to say it, buddy, but for the first time ever, I think Eggman has won," Sonic pointed out.

"Let's get out of here, he may have won the battle, but he hasn't won the war," Tails pointed out before him and Sonic retreat.

"A-am I dreaming, or are they literally giving up?" Dr. Eggman asked.

"Looks like they are," Bocoe answered.

"Hm, something just isn't right," Dr. Eggman pointed out. Back with Sonic and Tails who were at Tails' workshop thinking.

"First we forget to look for the chaos emeralds before returning home and now this happens?" Sonic asked passing through the hallways.

"I guess that's what we get," Tails said.

"Well we cant just give up, we need to figure out something, but what?" Sonic asked himself.

"It would take us forever to find all the chaos emeralds since they're all scattered in space," Tails pointed out.

"It just makes me wonder where they are," Sonic said. Meanwhile in another planet shaped like a star with two rings named Popstar, a decent sized castle is seen in a field, inside, a giant lavender snail with a green shell sideburns and boutique named Escargoon was seen looking out the window thinking to himself.

"Hey your majesty, what do you suppose happens now? Escargoon asked before a giant male blue duck with royal clothing named King Dedede turns around and starts thinking himself.

"That's a good question, with nightmare enterprises out of commission and us changing our ways, I really don't see what we can do other than let our people live in peace," King Dedede said

"What about the salesman?" Escargoon asked.

"He most likely didn't make it, considering the fact that the phone he gave me disappeared," King Dedede answered before a light can be seen in the sky catching their attention.

"What's that?" Escargoon asked.

"That's a good question, it's too early for stars to be out," King Dedede pointed out before the object got closer till eventually they noticed that it was coming right towards them, they jumped out of the way in time before the object crashed into the floor behind them. Escargoon and King Dedede looks as soon as it lands to find a blue gem looking object in the crater.

"What is that?" King Dedede asked.

"Looks like a jewel of some sort," Escargoon pointed out before King Dedede grabbed it.

"It sure is interesting," King Dedede said looking closer at the jewel. Later in a dark swamp like area, a giant wooden totem looking figure named Kabu is seen consulting with King Dedede about the emerald he found.

"This is an interesting find, what you have is not from this world," Kabu said.

"Then What is it? It can't be some kind of jewel," King Dedede said.

"It is no ordinary jewel, it is one with great power, beings from other worlds called them chaos emeralds. There are seven in total and they hold great power," Kabu explained.

"So why is it here?" Escargoon asked.

"It was involved in a great battle, one that we almost got involved in," Kabu answered, nearby, three figures are seen watching King Dedede talk to Kabu, the first one was a pink ball shaped creature with short arms and red shoes, his name was Kirby. The second was a female creature with blond hair, no legs but has feet with orange shoes, pink and green on her body and had yellow skin, her name was Tiff. The third figure was a male similar to Tiff, but had green and dirty blonde hair which ent over his eyes, had darker skin then Tiff and wore dark green shoes and blue overalls with one red strap, his name was Tuff.

"A chaos emerald? Never heard of such a thing, must have King Dedede real concerned," Tuff said.

"Since He has had a change of heart by the looks of it, he does sound concern," Tiff said. Back with King Dedede who was listening to Kabu talk about an evil race of alien robots called the Metarex.

"Aside from Nightmare enterprises, they were a great threat to the galaxy, they sought to eliminate all non plant life in it, until they were stopped by the inhabitants of the planets It came from," Kabu explained as King Dedede and Escargoon stood there shocked by what they were learning.

"Is there a way we can return this chaos emerald?" Escargoon asked not wanting to be involved in what he heard.

"Return it? With this I can work on some new projects," King Dedede said before running off.

"New projects?" Escargoon asked before running after King Dedede, a few seconds later, Kirby, Tiff and Tuff walk up to Kabu.

"You need to convince him to return that emerald to where it came from," Kabu said.

"What is it about that emerald that's so special?" Tiff asked.

"They could potentially teleport us to another world if he doesn't use it correctly, the emerald holds power that is beyond his control," Kabu answered shocking Tiff and Tuff. Back on Sonic's planet, Sonic was thinking about what to do other than use the power rings while Tails was paying attention to a flower pot with a plant in it with tears in his eyes that his friend doesn't notice.

"Tails we need to find those chaos emeralds if we want to stop Eggman, I'd say we get the X Tornado ready and..." Sonic said before he spots Tails crying a little and stops talking, "Tails?"

Tails looks at Sonic before looking back at the plant.

"You miss her don't you, buddy?" Sonic asked.

"I don't think we should go to find the chaos emeralds just yet, it would be too hard on me," Tails pointed out.

"Well we have to defeat Eggman somehow," Sonic said before sitting next to Tails.

"But why space? That's where she died and I just can't-can't..." Tails said before breaking down in tears, Sonic pulls him into his arms and started to gently pet his fur trying to help calm him down.

"Me and Shadow tried, buddy, but this was the best we could do," Sonic pointed out. Meanwhile, Dr. Eggman realized that it was almost too quiet since his recent victory, so he checks his cameras for any movement and sees nothing.

"Something's not right, it isn't like Sonic to give up this easily, then again who am I to judge, for the first time I managed to beat Sonic," Dr. Eggman said happy about what the Metarex technology he salvaged has helped him accomplish.

"What's the next call, Doctor?" Decoe asked.

"We attack and make sure Sonic doesn't interfere with my plans again. We move tonight when they least expect it, this will be the good time to test out my new project," Dr. Eggman explained confusing the two robots.

"Your new project?" Bocoe asked.

"You'll see soon enough. While it's on the mind, has anyone seen Bokkun?" Dr. Eggman asked.

"We haven't seen him since he delivered that message to Sonic and Tails," Decoe answered. Meanwhile somewhere near Tails' workshop, a small male black robot with horns, a belt with a big yellow M on it, white gloves and red shoes. His name was Bokkun and was one of Dr. Eggman's robots, he was looking at a necklace with a heart shaped locket on it when he spots something coming from the sky, he looks to see a bright object falling towards the planet at high speed. The object crashes nearby, Bokkun quickly flies towards the crater and finds a green emerald inside.

"And what do you think your gonna do with that?" A familiar male voice said before Bokkun looks to see Sonic leaning against a tree.

"Hey I saw it fall from the sky!" Bokkun shouted before Sonic quickly grabbed it before he could.

"Look it's already hard enough with Eggman salvaging Metarex technology, the last thing I want him to get his hands on is a chaos emerald," Sonic Pointed out before running off, Bokkun then gets enraged by what just happened. Back at Tails' workshop, Sonic walks in to find Tails fast asleep on the couch the way he left him, so he places the chaos emerald on the table and sits down next to him. Tails then stats to toss and turn in his sleep.

"Take it easy, little bro," Sonic said petting Tails' head helping him calm down before laying back to rest himself. Back on planet Popstar, Kirby, Tiff and Tuff arrive at King Dedede's castle and sneaks in to see where King Dedede was hiding the Chaos emerald.

"I cant believe believe this emerald is gonna cause problems unless we get rid of it, can't we just keep it?" Tuff asked.

"We can't, you heard what Kabu said, if King Dedede's not careful, he could potentially teleport us all to another world by accident," Tiff pointed out before they reach a small room to find the blue chaos emerald sitting on a pedestal with a glass cover on it.

"There it is," Tuff pointed out before trying to run at the emerald, but gets stopped by Tiff.

"Not so fast, you know that King Dedede may have alarms set up," Tiff said looking around for any type of security system that may have been set up by King Dedede, Kirby looks at the emerald with curiosity and gets amazed by it. Tiff noticed this and stopped Kirby before he could move.

"And just what do you three think your doing?" Escargoon asked startling Kirby, Tiff and Tuff, they look to see him standing in the middle of the hallway with a grumpy look on his face.

"Trying to return the emerald to where it came from," Tiff answered.

"Well you know I can't let you do that," Escargoon pointed out.

"Why not?" Tuff asked.

"One the king wants the emerald and two it isn't my duty to determine where the emerald goes," Escargoon explained.

"Does King Dedede realize how dangerous it is?" Tiff asked.

"I don't want that emerald here either, but as I said before it isn't my call to make," Escargoon answered.

"Fine! But don't come crying to us when we get teleported to another world," Tiff said before grabbing Kirby and Tuff and leaving.

"Those three are right you know," a male voice said, Escargoon looked behind him to see a male figure in the same shape of Kirby but wore a mask, had a blue cape with purple on the inside, wore gloves and purple shoes, his name was Meta Knight and was a star warrior.

"Oh what do you want?" Escargoon asked.

"I'd like to know where you got that emerald?" Meta Knight asked.

"It just fell from the sky, that's all I know aside from the fact that it was involved in a war with the Metarex, whoever they are," Escargoon answered making Meta Knight move his head a little before running off, "was it something I said?"

Meta Knight enters the throne room and confronts King Dedede.

"You? Word of that emerald sure does get around," King Dedede pointed out before he finds Meta Knight's golden sword touching his neck, "hey what gives?!"

"You are gonna do what's right and give me that emerald," Meta Knight said.

"And why should I?" King Dedede asked.

"Don't play dumb, you know very well why," Meta Knight answered before Escargoon ran in despite being a snail.

"I know you and I want that emerald off this world, but I didn't think you would threaten his majesty," Escargoon said.

"You stay out of this!" Meta Knight shouted.

"You have no idea what I can do with it," King Dedede said.

"And you have no idea what it can do with this entire village, that emerald can teleport us all to another world if your not careful, that's by you need to return it and if you won't then I will," Meta Knight explained before Escargoon whacked him with King Dedede's hammer, before King Dedede gets up and Walks over to him.

"Here's how things are gonna work, you are gonna leave quietly and forget that this ever happened," King Dedede explained with an evil grin before an alarm starts going off, he goes over to see that the chaos emerald was missing.

"It's gone!" Escargoon pointed out.

"Fine, I guess you'll have to parish Meta..." King Dedede said before stopping to see Meta Knight was gone, "Knight?"

Meta Knight ran along with Kirby, Tiff and Tuff who had the chaos emerald towards the village.

"Thanks for the help, Meta Knight," Tiff said.

"I'm just doing what is right, once we reach my ship, we'll figure out where the emerald came from and return it," Meta Knight said. Back on Sonic's planet in Tails' workshop, was was seen relaxing when something gets on his mind, he looks down to find Tails fast asleep on his lap, luckily for him, he only had one arm around him. Sonic carefully slips away, without waking up Tails.

"I'll be back, little bro," Sonic said before running out the door with the chaos emerald in his hand, thanks to the emerald's power, he was able to run faster than usual and reached Dr. Eggman's base in no time. Sonic then ran through the door without any trouble and ran down the halls destroying any robots that stood in his way, he eventually reaches Dr. Eggman's main room.

"I've been expecting you, Sonic," Dr. Eggman said.

"Now that I have an emerald, you really don't stand a chance, so you mine as well just give up now," Sonic said.

"I'm aware, Bokkun told me you found one as soon as he came back, but I have a little surprise for you," Dr. Eggman said before pressing a button opening a door, Sonic looks to see a robot that looks just like him but had yellow robot eyes and had grey limbs.

"What the?" Sonic asked.

"Meet metal Sonic, your perfect double," Dr. Eggman said introducing Sonic's robotic clone.

"This is definitely new, Eggman, let's see what he's capable of," Sonic said before Metal Sonic rushes at him and throws a punch, but he jumps out of the way and kicks him across the face before he gets up and throws several punches that he dodges.

Sonic quickly spin dashes into Metal Sonic knocking him into a wall, he gets up tries to spin dash into him, but he gets out of the way with the chaos emerald's power and elbows him in the back of the head causing Dr. Eggman to let out an angry grrrr.

"Even with Metarex technology, Metal Sonic doesn't stand a chance. You win this time, Sonic, but you haven't seen the last of Metal," Dr. Eggman said before him and his robots retreat causing Sonic to laugh.

"In your face, Eggman!" Sonic shouted.

"Self destruct sequence initiated," a voice said. Realizing what it meant, Sonic quickly ran as fast as he could out of the base and ran back to Tails' workshop with a few seconds to spare, he walks in to find Tails the way he left him. Sonic grabs a warm blanket and covers Tails up with it do he wouldn't get cold before sitting down next to him, he places the chaos emerald on the table in front of him before deciding to get some shut eye not noticing that Tails' plant was starting to glow. Back on Popstar in a hidden hanger, a gigantic ship is seen being constructed by two knights, one was a aqua green knight named Sword Knight, the other a green knight named Blade Knight.

"As you can see, after nightmare enterprises collapsed, I decided to reconstruct the Halberd and make it better than it normally was," Meta Knight explained.

"I just have one question, where do you suppose the chaos emerald came from?" Tiff asked.

"That I don't know , but the trip will be worth it," Meta Knight answered before signaling Sword Knight and Blade Knight to prepare the Halberd for launch then massive banging was heard at the main entrance before King Dedede who was wearing a helmet and carried a powerful hammer walked in.

"As you can see, I've already learned how to wield the emerald's power, so if you be as kind as to give it back that would be much appreciated," King Dedede said holding his hand out as Sword Knight and Blade Knight join Kirby, Meta Knight, Tiff and Tuff.

"It needs to be returned to the planet it came from," Meta Knight pointed out before King Dedede tried to whack all six of them with his hammer, but they get out of the way in time and scatter, Sword Knight and Blade Knight quickly attack, but he blocks every attack. Several attacks later King Dedede back hands Blade Knight before whacking Sword Knight with his hammer knocking him out cold thanks to the Chaos emerald's power, just as he was about to finish him off, Meta Knight blocks the attack with his sword using all the strength he could. Kirby quickly open his mouth up and tried to suck King Dedede's hammer into his mouth, but all it did was make him turn towards him and move an inch or two before Kirby was forced to stop from exhaustion.

"Not this time, Kirby," King Dedede pointed out before trying to whack Kirby with his hammer, but gets whacked across the face by Meta Knight before Tiff grabs the pink puffball and runs.

"Even with the emerald's power, your still a pain in the neck," Meta Knight pointed out as King Dedede got up.

"But you have to give me credit on figuring out how to use it," King Dedede said proud of himself before Meta Knight rushed at him and tries to deliver the finishing blow, but he blocks the attack before pushing him back, he then delivers several quick attacks with his hammer that he dodges and blocks. Meta Knight then delivers several swings with his sword that King Dedede blocks before slamming his hammer to the ground causing a shockwave that knocks his opponent and everyone else over, he then walks over to him, "time to pay, Meta Knight."

King Dedede gets ready to deliver a finishing attack, but something knocks him to the ground, Meta Knight looks to see a figure standing in the shadows with his opponent's hammer.

"Impressive, you figured out how to harness the emerald's energy," The figure said before coming into the light revealing himself to be a black male hedgehog with red stripes, a whit patch of fur on his chest, wore white gloves and had shoes, the hedgehog tossed the hammer in front of King Dedede.

"Who are you?" King Dedede asked.

"You can just call me Shadow," The hedgehog known as Shadow answered.
