Chapter 24: Sweet nothings

Another restless night, and then she was summoned to give some of her blood a few nights after the whole Esther trying to kill her encounter. To have said she was wary was an understatement.

Klaus held out his hand, both he and Rebekah having returned from hunting Finn down and apparently finding him. To have said she was uncomfortable with him so near was also an understatement. She eyed his hand and the blade that rested on the table wearily. "More blood of mine? At this rate I'm going to have none left." She stated and he chuckled, gently taking her hand and leading her over to where the table was. She could see a woman with a darkened complexion sitting on a nearby sofa, reading through a large grimoire, or witches cookbook as she'd heard him call it before a few times.

The dagger gleamed in the light as he picked it up and removed the sheath. "A little blood, and then I'll heal you right back up- it'll be as though it never happened." He promised and she shook her head. "No vampire blood." She stated and he raised a brow. "Are you sure?" He replied and she nodded. "I don't want to take any chance. Just these things I believe you call painkillers and fresh bandages will do." She spoke slowly, as if afraid she'd gotten the terminology wrong, but he nodded once, understanding and respecting her motives behind her decision.

It wasn't pleasant, as the dagger sliced through her flesh, but he did it with the utmost gentleness possible, and he held her hand over a small glass vial, filling it up with her blood. She winced softly, and he pressed a kiss to the back of her injured hand before walking from the room to retrieve those painkillers and bandages.

She knew the dark skinned woman behind her was watching, and her blue eyes met her chocolate brown ones. "I know you from somewhere," she breathed and the woman looked a little uncomfortable. She then frowned. "Bennett witch, correct? One of them who helped Esther with her plan. I am a little confused as to what you have against me though. I didn't do anything to harm any of your little group of friends, and yet you all seem to want to kill me."

The woman sighed, looking up from the book properly. "I don't have anything against you, but I do against Klaus, and from how he just behaved around you, I would say you're more than mere frenemies anymore."

That word confused Elle and she frowned, about to ask but the hybrid who strolled into the room beat her to it. "And you'd be right Bonnie, but you don't have time to make idle conversation, witch." He stated, the witch going back to her reading with a scowl.

She saw the bandages in his hands as he pulled her over to the chair, a wet cloth in his other hand. She hissed under her breath as he carefully cleaned the cut on her palm, the cloth coming away a scarlet red colour. She grimaced and he gave her a slight grin. "You know, my blood would heal all this and I could make sure you don't fall to foul play so no possibility of turning until it's out of your system."

A gentle hum, although strained, broke from her lips. "Yes, I am quite aware. But just because you have the ability to heal my wound doesn't mean you should." She acknowledged and his grin widened, continuing to clean her palm carefully. He reached for the bandages and she kept her hand waiting, steady and still as he turned back, the Bennett witch watching closely from where she sat reading what she knew to be something akin to a witches cookbook.

Elle sighed softly when he finished, just as a scream echoed through the manor house. She jumped, the sound making her look around with wide eyes, and the dark skinned witch looked around, alarmed with the scream. "What was that?" She demanded, Klaus giving a smirk. "I wouldn't let it bother you love," he stated coolly.

The witch glared. "Well it does bother me; you bother me." He mocking placed a hand over his heart, feigning a hurt look. "The way you use people to get what you want, it isn't right."

His own eyes narrowed a little at her. "You're being emotional, Bonnie," he warned, his voice calm, for the time being. "I understand things have been rough for you, you know, with your mother leaving, again. It's very sad." He walked forward until he was stood in front of her, his expression falsely empathetic. "I can help you find her, if you want. I have people who can find people, I can bring her back to you, or if you choose, I can bring parts of her back?"

She pulled her arm from his grasp, a smirk spreading across his face as he retreated back to Elle's side, the raven haired teenager watching the exchange closely. "Isn't it obvious that I'm just going to continue to hurt the people you love until you do the spell? Now I know its in the grimoire and I know it requires the blood of my siblings and Elle to unlink us, so here we are-" he retrieved a small leather case, unzipping it to reveal four vials, filled to the brim with crimson blood. He pointed to them each in turn. "Elijah, Rebekah, Kol, Finn," he stated before biting into his own hand, blood dripping from the injured palm. It dripped all over the table and he gave her a pointed look. "Where do you want us?"

Bonnie gave a defeated look, eyeing him for a moment before she grabbed a golden chalice that was resting on the table, placing it under his hand so the blood dripped into it.

Her face twisted as she swallowed the last of the painkillers, her palm still throbbing. It hurt, but not as much when it was first cut. He chuckled above her, placing the glass of water on the end table beside them, his hand smoothing down her curved back as she leant into his embrace, her head tucked beneath his, raven curls covering her face. "These things are disgusting," she muttered.

A smirk tore across his face as he looked down at her. "They aren't meant to taste nice. I've never taken them, but from what I've heard, they don't taste pleasant." He stated and she hummed, nodding slowly. "They're horrible tasting," she confirmed and he nodded, watching the Bennett witch across the room as she prepared the spell that would unlink them. He glanced down at her, tipping her head back so she was looking at him. "After we're unlinked, what do you want to do?" He asked.

Elle frowned. "What do you mean?" She asked, blinking softly, and Klaus gave a grin. "We could go anywhere you like, see anywhere you like, go around the world, see London, Paris, anywhere you'd like?"

A small smile came across her face at the mention of her home country. "I like the idea of London, going and seeing what's become of my homeland. I don't know anywhere else but there," she confessed and he grinned even wider, his blue eyes focussed on hers. "Even better."

The smell of burning candles made him look up and a slow grin spread across his face as he saw the separated pools of blood. Elle gave a sharp inhale at the sight before looking back to Klaus. It had worked, a smile spreading across her face. They were no longer going to die.

Hi everyone! I appreciate it's been a long time, but I slowly managed to put together a plan for the rest of the remaining chapters, so it's just a matter of writing them out and uploading them. I appreciate everyone's patience on my hiatus, but I'm back, and hopefully going to put out some new updates on the majority of my fictions soon!

In the meantime however, I would very much appreciate it if you could all go and have a browse through my new release. Any feedback, comments, and especially a follow/heart, would be much appreciated as it allows me to see if I need improving, AKA have I lost my touch haha, but really, it allows me to see how everyone is feeling about where the fiction is going in the direction as planned. Thank you all for your patience, it really means a lot.

Also thank you to someone who made me realise I hadn't uploaded like a dozen chapter before this one! They are now all up :)
