Judy and Nick were on duty, patrolling downtown Zootopia on the lookout for thief who had robbed a jewelry store a couple days prior.
It was only 10:02 am and their day was going really slow. Judy looked to her partner who had looked as thought he had dozed off in his seat.
Nick looked so peaceful, and to be honest, a little cute. WAIT, did she think he was cute?. It was true, deep down she did think Nick was handsome and she did have a little crush on him, although she would never admit it to herself, or ESPECIALLY Nick. She heard him make a cute little snore and she decided to immortalize the moment, Judy pulled out her phone and took a picture, Judy, however had forgotten to turn the flash and sound off.
Nick suddenly sprang up and look at Judy, he had a grin plastered on his face. "What were you doing Carrots?" She looked away as she was blushing, realizing that she had almost been caught in the act, "Oh Nothing Nick", Nick replied "Whatever you say Carrots, whatever you say"
Nick decided to give judy a little wink. "Man this is going to be a long day!" Judy thought while trying to hide her ever increasing blush.
Judy, desperate to change the conversation asked Nick "Hey Nick can I ask you something?" His witty response"Of course my overly dramatic bunny. "How can foxes be so dumb? "Oh carrots you wound me!" he cried dramatically. Both Nick and Judy cried out in laughter.
They carried out their drive through Zootopia City Limits mocking each other.
Judy looked at her iCarrot Phone and noticed it was 7:30, their shift had ended 30 minutes ago. They had drove around and wasted all day only to have no luck in capturing the perp who had stolen the goods. Judy and Nick headed back to the Zootopia Police department, parked the cruiser, and just as Judy was just about to walk out and she realized that Nick wasn't behind her.
She looked back and saw Nick was texting on his phone, he looked up and yelled across the massive room "You go on out Carrots, I'll see you tomorrow!"
Judy waved back and headed back to her sucky and very small apartment. When she got to her apartment, she dropped her stuff, and launched herself on the was very tired, even though she had basically done nothing, except drive around with Nick all day.
She burrowed herself under the covers and fell asleep almost instantly, a common trait of the rabbit.
Judy was pulled into the most exciting and quite terrifying dream she had ever experienced, she had captured the thief, a mouse that had gotten away with a very expensive diamond necklace. Judy then handcuffed him and Nick locked him in a very little cage, they both climbed into the cruiser, and headed for the ZPD to book the rodent.
Her dream then shifted, to the end of the shift. Nick and Judy had gotten back to the station and had just parked their police cruiser. Judy was about to walk out of the station and realized that Nick wasn't behind her. She looked back and Nick was on his phone, probably texting. "He yelled "You go on without me Carrots, I'll see you tomorrow!"Judy then left the station.
It seemed however her dream then shifted towards Nick, he was standing in the empty police station texting on his phone, Chief Bogo, then walked up and saw Nick was still here.
"Wilde? What are you still doing here?"Nick responded " Oh I'm just waiting to meet someone" Bogo hadn't paid attention to any what of Nick had just said, either because he had lost interest or the fact that he had dropped his keys. Nick Followed Chief Bogo out as he locked the ZPD Entrance door and put the fumbly keys in his pocket.
"Nice job with you and Hopps on catching that rodent, that owner was very happy to get his diamonds back,Nick, take the weekend off."Nick was utterly surprised, not because of the weekend off, but because Bogo had used his first name.
"Chief? I think me and Judy deserve a week off" the chief grunted "Don't Push It Wilde" Nick knew that the Bogo Nick had just met, was gone, replaced by the usual grumpy and angry buffalo.
They parted ways and Nick just stood outside the locked doors, looking at the time and his text messages. Judy noticed that Nick looked very happy was wagging his tail, she smiled and wondered what her best friend was thinking about.
Judy then turned her attention to a figure who was walked up behind Nick and grabbed him. He jumped and yelled "Tatum! Don't' scare me like that!" When the figure stepped into the light she noticed she was a female fox, maybe her late twenties and was wearing a white parka. Judy saw Nick engulf her in a hug that lasted for at least two minutes.
Judy watched in horror as they just stood there embracing each other very tightly. She heard the female fox ask "How was your day Nicky?" as she pulled him closer. He replied "It was great, like usual. We got the bad guy like smirked back and said "I knew my cute police officer could do it!" Nick was now blushing.
Judy saw as Nick grabbed her paw and squeezed it. Judy watched as they walked off down main street holding hands meanwhile Judy's smiled had vanished. Replaced by a frown, jealousy, and sadness. The Thought of seeing nick with someone hit Judy hard. Nick was Judy's cute police officer. Not some fox's.
Suddenly Judy heard a crack of lightning. She suddenly bolted straight up and realized that she had dreamt the whole thing. She also realized that she had been crying, hard. Judy thought about the Nightmare she had just had. She also came to the realization that tonite was the second night that nick had not walked home with her.
She had found it odd but decided it was best to respect his privacy. She was overthinking this, wasn't she? Was Nick seeing someone? In her dream, the female fox had looked beautiful, and she was as tall as Nick and she looked about the same age as him. She dismissed the idea, surely nick wouldn't be seeing someone." She dismissed it and tried to go back to sleep.
