"Jack, you don't stand a chance. She's your wife, and wives always win."

Daniel peered at him over the rim of his cup of coffee.

"Now that's not true," Jack responded, adding, "and I'm pretty sure it's sexist."

His younger friend smirked slightly, adjusting himself in his chair and setting his cup aside on the small table next to him.

"Fine," he conceded, "but you're married to Samantha Carter. And she definitely always wins. It's Carter's Law, and it never fails."

Jack grumbled almost inaudibly, before raising his own cup of coffee to his friend.

"Touché, Daniel. Touché."
