Future Announcement: Apologize, and re-write.
Critical: Poles at the end, focused on the story. Everybody deserves a vote! Send your in a Review!
I'm sorry to say, but this is where one copy of this story shifts away. Form here, you can find more in Roronoa Uzumaki: Family, Fate and Freedom.
This story first began in January 2017. But around February 2019 I found myself stuck writing the next chapter for Robin, Zoro, Olvia and Naruto's story. Every project moved further and further away from the family, even further away from the titular knuckle-head we all love, and had more drama and less fighting, less action. It became a jumbled mess with a boring story-arc within the Naruto-plot.
3 years ago Jabrax13 began this story, and was kind enough to allow me to adopt it nearly 2 years ago. "Demons of Family and Destiny" is my first Fanfic. My first brain-child and I felt it was not going anywhere from where I continued the story.
I strongly dislike rehashing older plots and storylines scene-by-scene, arc by arc with only different characters inserted, who don't make any serious impacts that matter. I don't want to write a total copy of the Naruto Arcs with Zoro, Robin, Olvia and more people just inserted with no real change from it.
Stories such as "Son of a Sannin," "True Potential," and "Darth Vader Hero of Naboo" each break this trope, developing into different stories and settings in their own rights, with the character's choices and consequences driving the plot. Evolving from the classic favourites they were based on and growing all the better because of this.
Writing "Growth through Chaos," "Saving and Flames," and "Hanyou Family" further developed this appreciation for original work, and left writing further chapters for my initial "Demons of Family" stale and boring.
After growing as a writer since 2018, my style and story-telling improved so much the first edition of this "Demons of Family and Destiny" became clumsy when I look back. Writing anything more actually felt unwanted and extremely bland. Especially from my new love for originality. SO, I decided to restart the story under a new name: Roronoa Uzumaki: Family, Fate and Freedom.
Still, these chapters will remain up for anybody who might enjoy them.
Here are a few previous of the New story, and if you enjoyed this one I promise the re-write will be even better:
Naruto.
Within the Elemental Nations, a collection of states and domains scattered across the massive island mass; power, stealth and security were found inside the Hidden Ninja Villages. Installations modelled on military dictatorships, the services of their shinobi were hired out to clients, assigned to roles as messengers, escorts, heroes, assassins and guards. The most powerful, lethal and skilled of their numbers centered in the Great Villages, nurtured and commanded by their Kage.
Konohagakure, one of the most renown and populated of them stood proud, united and prosperous. Its people took pride in their ninja, their heroic Kage, and communal solidarity. So long as everyone excluded and despised one helpless 9-year-old child.
Naruto Uzumaki trudged down a street, looking down as the weight of glares, whispers and venom spat from everywhere pilled on his tiny shoulders. Hands curled in fists were stuffed inside his baggy shorts, but still he wore a symbol of the village on a plain white shirt with non-sensible pride.
"Why hasn't Lord Third expelled him yet?" a loud hush passed at his right.
"You haven't been around him, like I told you too, right?" a parent interrogated their daughter.
"Heh, how's the most stupid boy in the Academy? It's too bad Shikamaru and Iruka stopped it when you snuck to the Black Woods, Naruto" A vindictive child spoke up; pointing towards Naruto as nobody bothered to scold him. "Then we'd be rid of you for good, probably not even get your body back."
"Yeah, well at least I was braver than all you guys! Believe it!" Naruto replied, pointing back. "You all ran back to your mommies in the test of courage that night, and cowards don't get to be ninjas!"
Now a posse were facing down the whiskered orphan, from their class. "Oh, you don't scare us Naruto. And we're so better than you will ever be," Unagi mocked him. "It's the truth, and you can't even see it. Nothing you do ever works, and all that time shouting or asking is one big waste."
"Yeah, just like Shino said. You're an annoyance like always; so much that everyone here wished you'd never been put on this earth." their leader, Hibachi scorned him. Both hands in his pockets, the boy's frog-like mouth grew a denigrating sneer. "There's no way anyone can be Hokage if everyone hates them this much," Waving an arm around to all the adults.
"Look around, nobody here can eve look without glaring at you. Some of them might even like it if you just died right here," the boy stung at Naruto, innocent sadism clear in his eyes. "Too bad that trip into the back forest didn't kill you; you looked so happy too, smiling like an idiot to think we'd actually want to around with us."
Jerking his thumb around the group, each Hibachi's posse sneered towards Naruto.
Their target's face was hidden by his wild hair, fists pressing to his sides. Naruto didn't have to look to know what was going on; all the while nobody did anything at those words, even though some found them too far.
"Ha, good on you boy!" a wrinkled man from the crowd shouted. "That fiend shouldn't even be allowed to live here. Get'm out of here, bang him up with stones and I'll let you have some candy for free!"
That broke something in Naruto, turning on his heels to run. Going as fast as could, head down and just desperate to get away from the pain.
A surprise.
"Mom, you'll never make it there if you scare the poor old man too much, either," the girl scolded her with a smile.
"I concur with Lord Zoro, Lady Olvia," the boy spoke up. "Such disrespect to any of you must never be unaddressed."
Zoro grimaced towards his wife and their charge, before the picture of a ghost-white Hokage brought a smirk to his face. "Alright, Robin." Taking his hand off the sword, he nonetheless pointed finger at the petrified Hokage.
"Just keep those thoughts and your eyes off my wife, old man. My name is Roronoa Zoro, bounty hunter and the Great Swordsman across the world. My wife is Roronoa-Nico Robin, and these two hoodlums are my apprentice and our daughter." Sliding one hand each on a shoulder of the younger pair, both smiled at the leader of Konoha with respectful innocence.
(…)
With another breath from his pipe, Hiruzen surveyed the children closer. The girl's bright smirk mirrored her father's. With her black eyes, dark green hair running to her shoulders, her mother's defined nose and tanned skin making quite a beautiful set. Three normal katanas were tucked into a black sash at her waist, between a purple shirt and light-brown pants.
The other child, a boy, was nearly the girl's opposite. Pale skin, vivid green eyes, angular features, and white hair tied back in a loose ponytail made him a lady-killer. Complementing a calm and stoic face, marked with pair of scarlet dots on his brow. Clad in a flowing lavender robe and black haramaki pants, he carried four sizeable cases over his shoulders with no effort.
(…..)
"Hokage," the younger boy spoke up. "Lady Robin is an archaeologist. Her research, spanning decades across her life, led them to arrive in the Elemental Nations. Your Village claims to have vast records of historic knowledge, courtesy of the multiple ancient clans that call it their home. Would you allow Lord Zoro and Lady Robin to stay?"
(…..)
"This village, it's so elegant and peaceful. Don't you think, crossbones fiend-kun?"
As her mother admired the monument, Olvia's eyes were filled with wonder at the serenity and ease of people going by; shinobi and civilian alike.
At the girl's observation, her companion gave a shallow nod. "I concur with you, Lady Olvia. We have rarely been present in a more serene location. Perhaps some rare Jade lilies like those in the forest can grow here, to collect."
Olvia:
"Whisker's-chan? Is that the only reason you came running up to meet us?" Olvia probed, amusingly. The pout that followed made her giggle at how cute this blonde boy could be. Reaching over, her left hand rested on his head, gently.
Naruto looked up in surprise, Olvia smiling down in admiration. "It is quite surprising crossbones-fiend-kun could refuse one as adorable as you." Her head cocked aside; she was rubbing his hair now. Naruto still frozen where he stood.
"Ad….adorable?..." the blush invading his face match the colour of a sweet pepper. Until a curtain of yellow hair obscured it, the orange boy scratching at one cheek.[4]
"Uh…huhuhuhuh…th—th—thank you Ol—Olvia-chan."
(…..)
"Your room!" Olvia exclaimed, ignoring Zoro's parental glare. "Naruto-ototou, you are staying with Mom and Papa's room tonight. That way no marital exercises will happen between them. The night they made me, they wreaked a whole building by morning!"
At this, you could hear jaws clanking on the floor. From blushing faces to dripping nose-bleeds, everyone had a shade of red; the worst from a certain pervy-Sarutobi. Homura spluttered, while Kohura huffed out her indignity; 'such indecency! And from a child!?'
Kurenai was mortified, Tokuma's composure flushed down the drain; and Bekko made the mistake of eye-up Robin.
"Uh—Okay!" Naruto answered, innocent towards such coitus.[6] "If I get to stay near Robin—san, I'd like that," clinging to the woman a little tighter.
"Fine." Immediately, Zoro seized Olvia's arm, whispering. "No new books or library-trips for one week, young lady."
It Happened Again:
Slowly, Robin scrutinized Mito Uzumaki's memoirs in her study. Holding the book with both hands, two extra arms were on her wide work-desk; one set with pen in-hand jotting notes, the other two taking the slip and sorting it between several meticulous piles.
All until a knock was at her door. Not bothering to leave her place, sakura-petals swirled at the door and to answer it. Further minutes passed…..all until the book dropped to the carpet. Robin jerked in shock, blinking over and over, her mouth wide and immposibly amazed.
'No…..for a fourth time?'
Across the village, Roronoa Zoro felt the ash-covered bricks on his arms and cheek, hands twisting around in the open air at the rim of his predicament.
"Damn—! Not again! Guy, I swear I'll kill you one day if anyone find me like this!"
On the outside, several unseen figures surrounded his trapped form, waiting for the man's wife to arrive. The guy inside was too outragged to notice, looking right up through the darkness.
Until someone else arrived.
"Dad? I….did not think those were your pants when I was running by."
A churning explosion consumed Zoro now; his paternal-dignity in danger of irreparable damage. "Ghuuu! Naruto, this is not my fault! That crazy Guy sent me flying off with a new move and I landed here by accident!"
Robin arrived right then; to see her husband's legs flailing upside-down. Stuck once more inside a chimney.
Jiraya Busted:
Naruto was walking down the road, comfy and deeply joyful. It was humbling to think just how drastically his life had changed over a handful of months, and continued to bring new and welcome improvements each day. 'My family…they really are so awesome. I'm amazingly lucky to have met them, and they're so kind and gentle and-uh…uh-what's that word?'
Naruto ranked his brains while nearing the Hotsprings. Where a stooped figure was kneeling by the wall. "Patience! That was what Mom told me! That is it!" he cried out.
"Shhhhhh." An urgent whisper came. "Keep it down. Do you wanna get me busted? There's some amazing inspiration here. He He He."
The white-haired, extravagant, unrepentant Legendary Toad Sage was at work. THe man returned his eyes to hole, blinking in awe at the female populace inside the Hot Springs.
"Hey, what are you doing there?"
"Uuuuhhhhhhhh," the toad sage groaned in frustration. Sensing the intruder was close at hand, he whispered in urgence, "Keep quiet kid. I'm so close to some great material here. She's unbelievably gorgeous. That body, those curves, the biggest chest I've seen in decades. With her, my next book will be flawless."
The man kept his eyes forward. Waiting for a black-haired beauty to leave the comforts of the pool, and give him a view that other men would steal and beg for. "Ohhhhh. That young plum-haired kid has really bloomed over the years I last saw her. But that black-haired bomb-shell has made this the most fortuitous day of my life. Those ice-blue eyes, such incredible curves, a giant chest and her long black hair. Unlike the green-haired kid beside her"
Jiraya the Sannin was about to begin the worst day of his life.
0…0
Inside the hot springs, Robin basked in the comfort of peaceful rejuvenation. Olvia was sitting beside her, cupping a handful of water thoughtfully. "I agree, Olvia. It appears some natural minerals are carried from the geothermal source and into the pools here. All for the comfort, enjoyment and recovery of its occupants, including many shinobi."
Olvia jerked in surprise. 'Her eyes are still closed, and I hadn't said a word. I swear Mom's awareness is even sharper than Papa's swords can ever be.'
"Maybe," another, familiar voice called to them. "I just care that it can make you feel so damn ~goooodd~." Mitarashi Anko stretched her arms, her luscious body quivering in relief.
"MMMMMOOOOOOOMMMMMMM! OLLLVVVVIIIIAAAAAA-NNNNNEEEEEEE-CCCCCHHHHHHAAAAAAAAANNNNN!"
"AH!" "WHAT!" "Huh!" "Wha-" "Where?!" Water splashed around as all the women jerked at the loud warning-shout. "It Came from Outside." Anko said.
"Naruto-kun?"
"THERE'S AN OLD PERVERT PEEPING IN ON YOU IN THE BATH HOUSE!"
(…..)
Landing in a tree, the escape-artist let out a breath then drew in a fresh one laced with worry.
'That kid, he had to be Minato's. What did he mean by 'Mom?' There's no way Sarutobi-sensei wouldn't send me a shout if he'd been adopted. And damn I can't see that busty-babe, my next book was almost a full month ahead of—"
"Huh?" Something tapped his shoulder. Next his ribs. "Hehehehe, that tickled." Moving his hand, the Sannin felt nothing. More prodding came: his side. The tail-bone. His inner-thigh.
Next a voice: "Spying on my daughter?"
"Huh! Who-who said that!" Spinning around, Jiraya didn't see anyone; while his hands flew together, rising a probing-barrier around the spy-master. But he found—
"AHhh!" throwing his legs wide, the man found the pair of disembodied arms around his knees…..flexing their hands near something soft.
"Grab!"
"GHUUUUHOOOOOOOOOO—OOOAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" birds were sent higher than clouds; everything in the village of Konohagakure stopped-short at the out-cry. Jiraya lost all feeling and footing over himself, falling backwards while the hands crushing his manhood went even stronger.
The Sannin were nearly cut from two Shinobi and one kunoichi; to a single one of each plus a eunuch.
Sword-sparring:
Overhead—shoulder—Naruto pulled the bokken to his right and within a blink, Olvia shot forward, giving a sharp blow to his chest, running from shoulder to hip. Naruto fell flat to the mat, starring at the ceiling, arms overhead and dropping the bokken behind him.
"Match, Olvia. Naruto, do you know your mistake?" Zoro announced, watching his adoptive-son pull himself to sit up. Olvia stood at a fair distance, balanced, poised and ready for more; earning a nod from Zoro.
"Uhhh….oh man, I wound up again!" Naruto cursed, driving a fist into his palm.
"Right," Zoro's gruff voice acknowledged. "Pulling back so far on the third strike left a hole big enough to fit a ship through, and I don't want to see you dying from a sloppy guard like that. These moves are simple and meant to have minimal effort for maximum give. Not wound-up like a spring."
The boy had to gulp at his surrogate-father's comment, looking between him and Olvia, until-
"Zoro-" at one syllable, everybody froze; Zoor most of all; the frigid signal of his wife's disapproval marking his soul. "I have no desire to hear of our children dying. Ever." The whisper came, invoking an absolute promise from a silent Zoro, the man too shaken to speak.
Zoro's Worst Moment:
d Sarutobi Asuma nodded at Gekko Hayate. Both men were noted as the few 'blade-wielders' of renown within the ranks of Konoha. After learning more about Zoro's title, one wrote it off as self-stylized and held silent distrust for the man. The other held more neutral respect and genuine curiosity towards him.
Guy had invited them, especially after something Zoro had mentioned to him a few weeks ago.
Returning back to the spar, Guy was sweating now, and smiling. 'Time to try this!' In a blur of movement, Zoro was locked-in, and disgusted. "GHHHHH!"
Guy had tried something beyond belief. After thinking over different ways to get those swords away from Zoro, the man had decided on something that left the on-lookers perplexed. Shooting forward, Guy had grabbed Zoro by his wrists, grappling for his two swords-then went for the third with his own mouth! From a distance two men were nearly embraced, with Guy's mouth on the hilt of Wado Ichimoji, his lips brushing Zoro's.
Asuma's cigarette fell from his mouth. Hayate didn't know what to think. Zoro was totally frozen, while Guy was smiling. "Hahahahaha! What doya think of this, can your mouth duel with mine for your own sword?"
Guy was still smiling, close enough to appear they were kissing.
Zoro's eyes were bulging veins indicating his outrage. Immediately, he twisted his neck away, his jaws freeing Wado Ichimonji to strike Guy across the face. The flat of the blade met him right between the eyes, rolling them back as the man slummed back, KOed.
Zoro couldn't' get away from him fast enough, fuming. "Where the hell does somebody get the idea for that kinda crap! Ghhhkkkkkk-!" raising one hand, it froze after recalling who had been holding it. Hayate ran forward with a hanker-chief. Zoro nodded in thanks before whipping off each of his swords and hands, then scratching his lips, mouth and tongue with his fingers.
"Ghhhhhh-! Dozens of oceans, hundreds of guys freaky, weird and worse, every type of insanity that exists, the strangest Captain and nakama anyone can imagine, and nothing like THAT ever happened to me at all!" Zoro declared. Silently pushing down the flicker of a certain chef nearly kissing him in his sleep aboard the Going Merry after Alabasta. 'If Robin finds out about that, I'll never hear the end of it!'
"I never imagined Guy would swing that way," Asuma muttered, finally recovering his senses. "It….might explain his obsession with Kakashi, though."
Announcing The Genin-teams:
"And now, I will announce the new Genin-squads Lord Hokage has assigned. Both the members, and the primary role each squad will focus on." Iruka proceeded. Most of those in the class captivated through the first few announced until reactions and distractions shifted through their moods.
"Squad 7: Uchiha Sasuke, Inuzuka Kiba, Aburame Shino. Purpose: Tracking and Hunting." Three boys each locked eyes, nodding together, satisfied. Memories of a certain recent incident fresh to each of them, sparking ambition, resignation and dedication from different members.
"Squad 8: Roronoa-Nico Olvia, Kurama Yakumo, Hyuga Hinata. Purpose: Battle-field and Assault." Two of the girls presented ambitious grins at this news, the other staring at her crush with yearning.
"Squad 9 is still in rotation from the previous year. So, Squad 10: Roronoa-Uzumaki Naruto, Akimichi Choji, Uzumaki Karin. Purpose: Defense and Escort."
"Woo-hooo! Fantastic!" Naruto's excitement echoed through the room, the orange-and-black-clad Genin standing tall with eyes of blazing blue fire. The meeker Uzumaki pressed her glasses in, smiling unusually bright at her cousin. While Choji put his chips down and threw a high-five at Naruto.
"Squad 11: Haruno Sakura, Yamanak Ino, and Nara Shikamaru. Purpose: Scouting and Investigation."
"Huh?" a pair of voices rang. The blossom and the birthwort eyed each other, caught in their own reactions….and comfort with that case.
All until a slam echoed through the classroom. Another, and another and Shikamaru tried to wake-up from a certain nightmare. 'No…no…why can't this troublesome dream end? The one time I want to be awake and it won't come? I'd ran go through Mom's day-long nagging than have that pair on my squad,' the genius bemoaned.
So. Can anybody guess who Zoro's new disciple is? Also, I have already decided on the sensei for Team 10, if anyone can guess.
(Polls:) believe that Anyone who has been waiting this long for news on "Demons of Family and Destiny" deserve to have some impact on what will come in this story.
Who should have a rivalry with Kisame: Zoro or Jimbe?
Who should come to Konoha and become Sasuke's mentor in revenge: Trafalgar Law or Charlotte Katakuri?
Which enemies should re-emerge from the Grand Line, on the Akatsuki's side: Eneru? Crocodile? Doflamingo? Or Jack?
Who should be Olvia and Naruto's God-parent: Vivi? Aokiji? Or Kozuki Hiyori? (no, Jiraya is out)
Who do you want to go to Nami no Kuni:
The Nami no Kuni Arc, or "Land of Waves" is almost always a check-list stage of any Naruto story, and THE most reused Arc out of them all. Almost always, this mission is a cut-and-paste blueprint for various writers with spots of "cool" parts and one of 3 different outcomes: Haku+Zabuza die, one lives one dies, or both live. Many authors don't create the same impact the original Arc had on the franchise, with some exceptions.
After some inspiration from Ander Arias, none of the Konoha teams will go to Nami no Kuni in "Demons of Family and Destiny." Each will have their own C-rank gone wrong; but for Zabuza, Haku and Gato, Tazuna and Inari; I have three options for the writers to choose:
1) Nami+Hatchi? (they go to visit Zoro and Robin but land in the right/wrong place. One aims to find redemption for his time with Arlong, and clashes-swords with Zabuza; while Inari complains to the other about lost family and his terrible life, and learns there are worse things)
2) Robin + Captain Yamato (she goes for a certain job on Konoha's behalf, with him as an escort; and we see who would win: Yamato vs. Zabuza. With Robin connecting with Haku)
3) Tsunade and Shizune (my own favourite; they decide to hide from debt-collectors somewhere isolated and get caught in a big problem; blowing-off Tazuna until Inari claims Tsunade would only die and doesn't know anything about suffering and loss). [Tsunade (haemophobic and rusty) vs. Zabuza (full-strength]
Who should be the 5th Hokage: I honestly cannot decide over this, and no Zoro and Robin are out; they are not ninjas: -Jiraya? -Tsunade? -Kakashi?
What kind of Sword should Naruto have? -A Tanto? -a broad-sword? -a Nodachi? -a Jian? -Suggest one of your own.
Further Poles may follow until Chapter 1 Redux is uploaded. BUT: votes will only be accepted through Reviews.
