The plan was set. Night would fall and as the clock struck twelve they would have begun their escapade.

With all their requirements for the journey the three younger girls sneaked the two injured ones from the infirmary into the castle.

The guards were relatively easy to handle. Yoshiko had created a sleeping potion before hand and with the help of Pinkie sprayed it across the path they were to take. From one of the crossroads Ruby and Hanamaru would separate from the group, to get a couple of horses and meet them outside the gates of the castle.

That left Yoshiko with Chika and Riko. The problem was to carry them across the stretch before the potion wore off. In their normal state it would have been easy.

Chika seemed to be in the worst shape. There was no way they would escape before the potion's effects were out. Chika had tried to convince her saying that she would be alright but in reality she could barely walk without nearly collapsing onto the floor. She had reached this point only because of the help of Hanamaru and Ruby who supported her. Riko however could at least walk by herself.

What was Yoshiko supposed to do? Why was she so weak when she was supposed to be strong? If she used her teleportation spell she'd faint. She had tried to carry Chika herself but Chika was just to heavy for her to handle.

An idea struck her as hard as the chimes of the bell that rang from the clock tower. A flotation spell. It had been a long time since she had casted one. Unlike that time she was much stronger now.

Yoshiko muttered the spell under breath, her arms moving in specific motions this casting the spell on Chika. The orange head's eyes widened as she began to levitate. "Woah this is so cool!"

One of the asleep soldiers began to stir. The three girls stood in their places frozen in terror. Pinkie thankfully poured a couple drops of the potion onto him and once again he returned to the land of dreams.

They let out a sigh of relief. That was close.

"Chika chan calm down." Riko chided, whispering at the floating girl who now gripped onto Yoshiko's shoulder hiding behind her. "Sorry." She gave them a sheepish smile.

"Alright my little demons let's go before God's angels wake up from their slumber."

Ruby had figured out where the keys of the stables were kept using her sister the day before. Unfortunately it seemed more of a risk to do so as the keys were in Mari's room so that she can open it and go for her morning ride without any fuss.

The only way the pair could think if to enter the stables was to break in using brute force. They used a pin to pick the lock, rocks and a knife to break it but to no avail.

"Ruby chan, is it possible to melt the lock zura?"

"I'll try." Ruby held the lock in her hands, summoning her power. Hanamaru soon had to step back, saying in the most deadpan of a voice she could muster, "Ruby chan the grass is on fire."

"PIGYAA!" Ruby attempted to stop the spreading fire.

"Its alright Ruby chan. We'll just extinguish it with water from-"

"IT DOESN'T EXTINGUISH WITH WATER!" Ruby screamed. From inside the shed they could hear the horses neigh. The fire began to crawl onto the structure of the stables, eating it away. The neighing of the horse became frantic. Ruby began to cry in helplessness.

Hanamaru hugged her, in attempts to pacify her. In her mind, she was thinking of a way to stop the flames but nothing came to mind.

If they didn't do anything the horses would die and worse is that they would get caught.

Suddenly from the corner of her eye she could see a figure approach them. 'We're doomed zura!', Hanamaru thought gravely and hugged the red head tightly.

The flames seemed to dissipate and soon it vanished without a trace. To the pair's surprise the stables were still in one piece and had no burn marks whatsoever. She can't say so much about the surrounding grass however.

"Ruby, Hanamaru san, you are escaping, am I right?" Dia's tone was stern as she approached them. Ruby held Hanamaru tighter. "O-onee chan I'm sorry-"

"There is no need to apologize. I was just asking. I should have known when you asked me about the keys."

"Please don't tell Mari sama zura." Hanamaru begged.

"I am not planning to do that, unless Mari sama does not see her soldiers sleeping in the hallways."

A moment of silence passed as they digested what Dia said. It was unexpected of her. She was one of the most loyal and the most important people to the princess even if she did not properly hold a position in court like her father did. "EHHH!?"

"Calm down both of you before someone wakes up."

"H-hai"

She walked past them, pulling out something from the pocket of her cloak. The keys. "Onee chan how did you-"

"She handed them to me earlier for safe keeping as she was planning not to go on her morning horse ride."

The two followed her trail, Dia opening the doors.

"The stables... they did not burn zura... why?"

"Wood coated with fire proof magic." Dia replied.

"Mirai zura!" Hanamaru whispered, stroking the horse she would normally ride.

Ruby, not soon after prepping her horse for riding, took her place upon the saddle followed by Hanamaru who did the same.

Dia, wished the two, not before giving them a piece of advice. "If you are trying to control a fire do not suppress it. Instead try using kindness. This applies for fire bending as well."

Tattoos were an important part of the body for the clans of Uranohoshi. They could be anywhere on the body, designs varying according to strength and clan. They provided the body the power to breathe underwater.

The clans had a powerful impact on the lands... or that was the case until...

The captain had asked You to follow him into his quarters. "I have been waiting to show you this." he had then handed her a book.

The book was old and tattered and heavy. It even had some mould on it. The text on top was unreadable, washed away with the wave of years gone by. "This book contains the secret to Uranohoshi."

"Uranohoshi had a secret?"

He looked sullen, "So they've managed to brainwash the whole country." He clenched his fist. "That would be no problem, we'll just need to unveil the doings of the monarchy."

You looked at her 'father' confused.

"Read the book. You will understand why I have been searching for you for years and the answer to why I had to take you away from there."

Unsure whether to believe the contents of the book she opened the first page. It was fragile, parts of the text faded away. Her thoughts went to Hanamaru who would have a heart attack if she saw the condition of what she considered as her life line.

Oh, how she missed them. Whatever she was kidnapped(can you call it kidnapping when you were taken away by your father's goons?) for, would be in this book. She knew she would get back to them soon. Her thoughts went to how worried sick they must be.

'I'm sorry guys.' her lips curved into a sad smile as she thought. 'I'll finish up with this family problem as soon as I can.'

"Haha, already emotional!" Her father chortled. She couldn't tell him the actual reason.

She read, and soon after he left the room to attend to duties around the ship.

There were three clans that ruled over Uranohoshi: the Sonodas, the Matsuuras and the Watanabes

Each one was powerful, having the power to control water. The Sonodas were by far the strongest, righteous of the clans. They were respected by all yet feared by those who tried to invade. No one could defeat them when it came to discipline and the sword(or any weapon for that matter). The clan could be compared to the oceans- harsh. The Matsuuras were also powerful but unlike the Sonodas were much calmer and had a unique ability to talk to underwater animals. They could be compared to a river- calm. The Watanabes were unique with their prowess in navigation and their skills in boat making. They were a sort of a mix if the two clans, eccentric and calm but if triggered became as powerful as a Sonoda.

They ruled the land till the Oharas attacked. Even with their techniques and prowess in their art of water bending, they had failed to stop the invasion due to the large number of troops they had to face. The three clans had been brought down to bits, establishing the rule of the Oharas.

The few that were left fled the land seeing refuge in various neighboring kingdoms or hid in the shadows of their defeat.

You closed the book. She could not read anymore or else her brain would explodw. The information swirled in her head like a whirlpool.

How many years had it been since the invasion? Definitely long ago judging by the book. Yet...

How was this supposed to answer her reason to be kidnapped? It did answer a lot of weird happenings in her past and powers.

She kept the book on the table and made her way to quarterdeck where she found her father steering the ship barking orders to his crew.

His face immediately softened when he saw her. "So ya finished reading."

"I don't understand, what am I supposed to do with all of this. "

Her father smirked, "Hmm, I expected you to figure it out. You are a smart girl after all." he turned to one of his men and asked him to take over the wheel before calling out for the crew assemble before him.

"Men, why are we here?" he asked his crew, loudly. Unanimously they answered, "To get revenge!"

"Against?"

"The Oharas!"

"For?"

"Taking our land?"

"And what are we going to do?"

"Take our land back!" They cheered.

He turned to her. "And my dear daughter, you have an important role to play."

The last thing she wanted to do was play a puppet in an act for revenge that happened to be directed at the one who she swore to protect the nation for when she had been given the title of a knight.

A/N:

Yeah its nearly a year and I'm finally updating this. Firstly I wasn't happy with how this chapter was written when I wrote it last year and school kinda sucks so I never had a chance to make it better. Sure I wrote one shots every now and then but I couldn't find out how to make this chapter better so I never posted it and I never really had the time to sit and analyze how I was planning to take the story considering my past self had the stupid idea of not creating a timeline and a list of powers and skill sets each character had.

School sucks... so do exams... Who even made exams cuz I'd love to go back in time and stop them from making it? What on earth was even going on in their minds?

Anyway, I appreciate it if you do read this nonsense of a story and like it. Don't expect the next update to be soon. I've got more exams coming up, sadly...
