The Lion Guard has always been a group of male lions led by a male relative of the Pride Land's monarchy. The Guard consisted of the strongest, smartest and swiftest lions, nobody dared to mess with. However, the current generation of the newly formed Lion Guard left many of the Pride Land's residents in doubt because of who was leading it now. The cub who was chosen to lead was the second born son of Queen Uru and King Ahadi. He was seen as sort of replacement for Azizi who was born second after Mufasa, the cub greatly took after his father because he had the typical strong built that most male lions in the Pride Lands had. The only thing separating him from the other male cubs was his medium reddish brown pelt and soft personality. Many were shocked when he died and his younger brother and youngest offspring of Uru and Ahadi was chosen.

An emergency meeting was declared by Mosi, the former head of the Lion Guard and younger brother of the late King Mohatu. He had gathered the residents of the Pride Land at the Watering Hole. Mosi had been ordered to have this meeting by the current king, Ahadi because of Azizi's unexpected death. Many animals of all walks of life were angry, frustrated and upset by the decision. Mosi had to tell them the circumstances of Azizi's death and why Taka was chosen. They wouldn't be too happy and they weren't.

"That weakling can't lead the guard! Why can't you continue leading Mosi? You're fantastic at your job!" complained a young gray elephant. "Son, hush and don't ask such non-"

"Your son is correct!" Mosi interrupted the female mother elephant. She looked up with anxiety at the golden gray lion.

"I meant no offense, Mosi! Forgive my son's rudeness! But why-"

Mosi cut her off again, "I can't lead the Guard anymore! I am too old and my days are coming to an end shortly. Taka would-"

"Why should we trust what the queen says? Females aren't meant to make decisions of who protects us, that's Ahadi's place. Ahadi is just-"

Mosi roared at the little voice that had dared to interrupt him. The meek, little voice quickly piped down. Mosi stared at the crowd, looking for the one that had dared speak ill of his niece and nephew-in-law but nobody came forward and Mosi continued. "Ahadi and Uru have chosen Taka to lead because there are no other male relatives capable of leading. The boundaries would be quite screwed if our soon-to-be king takes over a position meant for his brother. The Circle of Life must be protected and since Azizi passed, Taka's our only solution."

There were grumbles and complaints in the crowd. Many of the complaints were, "The queen has lost her mind!" "Ahadi is a weak leader!" "King Mohatu looks upon the Pride Lands with dismay." "Nobody is going to respect our new guard because Taka is too weak to lead." Finally, "our enemies won't have no reason to not attack."

Mosi could only roar at the crowd of residents, "This meeting has been adjourned! Taka will lead the guard since Azizi is dead! Ahadi has told me that anyone who dares protest will be exiled from the Pride Lands, never to return!" The residents then locked eyes with the other lions, they showed no doubt in Mosi's declaration and just appeared ready to kill.

"Now, everyone go home!" Mosi roared again, drawing the attention back to him and away from the lions. So, they left with doubt and fear in their hearts.
