Link and Saria walked through the entrance of the stone tower and looked around the small room they found themselves in.

"There is nothing in here. Saria said as she looked around the small area. "Why would the compass bring us here?"

"Link, the far wall looks like one of those walls we can use a bomb to get through it." Navi said as she floated next to the far wall.

"Saria back away from the wall." Link said as he pulled a bomb from his back and the fuse lit on its own as soon as it was free from the vacuum of the magical bag. Link sat the bomb next to the wall and rushed back towards the entrance where Saria waited, with Navi close behind him. When the bomb went off it caused the wall to crumble and the group could now see two paths in front of them. One path went left and the other right. In the center of the fork in the road was a small chest.

"Link, there's a chest. I wonder what's inside." Saria said excitedly. Link walked over to the chest and opened it. He found a small silver key inside it and he attached it to his key ring before the group continued. "I wonder what that key opens."

"In dungeons there are usually locked doors that we have to find keys for." Link replied. "At least this one was easy to find."

"Which path should we take?" Saria asked curiously.

"Try the compass, Link." Navi suggested. Link pulled out the compass and the needle was pointed towards the left path. The group followed the path for a few moments and it brought them to a large room with several platforms. There was no ceiling as the sky became visible when they walked into the room. Saria stared up at several platforms that were in the sky.

"How do we get up there?" Saria asked.

"Right now, we cannot." Link replied. "We have to find what we can down here and soon we should be able to find what we need to get up there."

"You've been through a lot of dungeons, huh?" Saria asked curiously. Link nodded.

"I have seen quite a few since leaving home." He admitted. Looking around the lower floor, the group saw a few platforms that they could jump to that would take them to a walkway a few feet from them.

"There's no floor." Saria pointed out as she looked over the side and saw that just passed the ground they were standing on there was nothing but darkness.

"We'll have to try not to fall." Link replied before he leapt to the first platform. "Whoa, that was close." The platform began to tilt and he quickly made his way to the center as the platform righted itself.

"We have to keep them balanced." Navi advised.

"Saria, I'm going to stay in the center until you jump. Once you jump, I'm going to run for the far side and jump towards that platform that's a little higher. Saria nodded and Link prepared to run as Saria stepped back to get a running start.

As soon as Saria leapt towards the platform, Link ran towards the opposite edge and as the platform began to rise she landed on it just as Link leapt for the platform above them. He found that the platform he was on didn't need to be balanced as it was firmly stuck in place.

"There's a chest up here." Navi pointed out. Link looked around at the platform and realized it was at least three times the size of the other platforms that were around him. In the center of the platform was a chest and on the other side there was a small gap that separated the platform with a tunnel in the wall. Link opened the chest and found a second small key.

"This dungeon is going to be a large one, Navi." Link sighed as he walked back towards the edge when he noticed several of the birds he had seen earlier flying straight towards him. "Saria, stay in the center." Link called out as he pulled out his boomerang and waited for the birds to get closer.

"I can help with the slingshot." Saria called back.

"No, I'll take care of this." Link replied as he threw the boomerang just as the birds dove to attack. The boomerang struck three of the birds as it twisted around and then it came back to him. There were two remaining birds and Link drew his sword and shield. Just before they reached him, Link saw a deku seed strike the side of the head of the bird to his right. The bird seemed stunned for a moment as the other one dove for Link. Link leapt towards Saria's platform as he used his shield to repel the diving bird as his sword went into the bird heading for Saria. Link landed near the center of the platform with Saria and he turned quickly as Saria hit the last bird with a deku seed.

"Good shot." Navi said as the seed went into the bird's eye and it fell from the sky.

"There's a tunnel just on the other side of that platform." Link said as he pulled out his winged boots. "I'll stand on the far edge and you can climb up to the that platform."

"How will you get up there?" Saria asked curiously. Link pointed to his boots.

"These boots will help me get across, if we're quick." Link advised.

"Alright, I hope so." Saria said and Link backed toward the edge and the platform began to dip down again and Saria ran towards the other side and leapt up to the higher platform. She caught the edge of the platform with her hands and she climbed up before she turned towards Link.

"Let's hope this works." Link muttered under his breath and he started to run as fast as he could towards the other side. As he had hoped the platform wasn't going down from his weight and he started to feel relieved as he neared the other side and then suddenly the platform began to go down and Link leapt in the air and swore as he realized he would barely miss the edge of the platform. Link kicked at the air to try to get more distance and reached his arms up but he knew he was going to die, when suddenly his fall stopped and he looked up to see that Saria had grapped his right arm with both of hers.

"I've got you." Saria said and Navi breathed a sigh of relief as she watched Saria lift Link up enough to help him grip the side of the platform so he could pull himself up. Link climbed up slowly and rolled onto his back and took deep breaths to calm down.

"I…told you…that would…work." Link said between breaths. Saria shook her head and laughed.

"I'm not sure that would be considered successful." She pointed out. Link smirked at her as he removed the winged boots and put on his Kokiri boots.

"Probably not, but it worked." Link said as he got to his feet followed quickly by Saria.

"Where do we go from here?" Saria asked and Link pointed towards the tunnel.

"We need to see where that leads." He replied. Link and Saria leapt off the platform and onto the floor of the tunnel and they walked a short way before they saw a door chained up and locked with a small silver padlock with a keyhole in it.

"I think this is a dead end." Saria said irritably. "Is there another path we can take?" Link pulled out his keyring and smirked at her.

"No need to turn around." Link said as he inserted one of the small silver keys into the lock and twisted. The lock and the key dissolved as the chains fell to the ground and Saria stared at Link in awe. "I've done this before." He said with a shrug as he opened the door and followed Saria through it.

The next room was a large square room with two locked doors. One was on the left and the other was on the right. Directly in front of them was a room with bars in front of the door and what appeared to be an eye above the door. In the left corner closest to them there was a lit brazier on a stone stand. In the other three corners there were wooden braziers. Neither of them had been lit, giving Link an idea. Link pulled out a deku stick and walked towards the stone brazier.

"Link, what are you doing?" Saria asked, but instead of answering Link lit the end of the deku stick and ran to each of the wooden braziers, starting with the one on the far left brazier towards the back of the room. After all three were lit Navi saw a chest slowly becoming visible.

"Link, a chest appeared." Navi said excitedly as she floated towards it. Link walked over to the chest and opened it as he pulled out another small silver key and attached it to his key ring.

"Which door should we choose?" Saria asked as she studied the three doors. Link grinned at her.

"Poke out that eye with a deku seed." Link replied and Saria looked up before she took a step back.

"How did an eye get up there?" Saria asked curiously as she pulled out the slingshot and took aim. "Are you sure about this?" Link nodded and she took a deep breath as she released the sling. The seed struck the eye in the center and it closed as the bars on the door disappeared into the top of the door frame.

Link opened the door and they walked into a small room that contained one large chest surrounded by four Armos statues. Saria started to walk up to study them but Link quickly grabbed her arm.

"What's wrong?" Saria asked and Link pulled a bomb out of his bag. "What are you doing? You'll destroy the statues and the chest."

"Chests are indestructible." Link pointed out. "Those statues may not be what they appear." Link threw the bomb and it landed on top of the chest. Saria quickly ducked down and covered her ears as the bomb exploded.

She looked up and saw the statues were still standing around the chest and Link breathed a sigh of relief as he walked up and grabbed the armos statue that was in front of the chest and pulled it away so he could get behind it and open the chest. The chest was so tall that Link had to lean into it and he pulled out a large golden key.

"What is that?" Saria asked as her eyes widened in surprise.

"This is a key that will get us into the chest that holds the treasure of this dungeon and into the final creature's lair if it's locked." Navi replied. The group left the room and the door slammed shut and the bars lowered back down in front of it as the stone eye re-opened.

"Do we go through the left door or the right door?" Saria asked curiously.

"Either door will work." Link said as he turned to the left and walked toward the door. He took a small key off his key ring and unlocked the door. When Link opened the door the group stepped through and saw a small platform with a small lake on the other side of the small room.

"What is this?" Saria asked as she walked into the room. "Link, what is that?" She asked as she fell to the ground and backed away as fast as she could. In front of the group an octorock leapt up out of the water and spit out a large stone at her as she backed away and raised her arm to cover her head. She felt a few shards strike her leg and chest and when Saria looked up she saw that Link had leapt in front of her and blocked the stone with his shield. It bounced off and hit the ground causing it to shatter.

"Link, watch out!" Navi shouted as the octorock leapt back up out of the water and spit another stone at Link. Link lifted his shield in time and the rock ricocheted off the shield and struck the creature in the face. The force of the blow knocked the octorock backwards and it sunk into the water. Link reached down and helped Saria to her feet.

"Thanks, I thought that thing was going to kill me." Saria said as she got up to her feet. "I think we have to go up." Saria pointed out as a small platform lowered and stopped where the octorock had been floating.

"I'll check it out." Link advised. "Stay here and I'll be back in a moment."

"Wait, what if you don't come back here?" Saria asked and Link grinned at her.

"I have to come back this way." Link replied. "There's another door that we have to unlock down here." He added as he leapt onto the platform and he and Navi arrived at the floor above. The small ledge they leapt to on the upper floor led to a tunnel. After a few minutes of walking through the tunnel they found a large marble staircase that led to a large empty room. The only adornment in the room was a twenty foot tall bird statue that was facing them from the backwall. It's head was facing down and the wings were both drooping towards the ground.

"Link, look at this." Navi called out from the wall to his left. Link walked over and he saw a small picture of a bird but it's wings were up and it's head was facing to the right. Link turned towards the bird statue and began to look for anything that he could press on it that would make it change shape.

"Navi, there is a ladder on the back of the bird that leads to the top." Link said as he began to climb it. When he reached the top, Link realized there were hinges on the wing and he leaned over as far as he could without losing his balance and he began to pull it up. Link pulled the wing all the way up and then he jumped to the platform above the head of the bird.

"The head is to low Link." Navi said. Link thought about it for a moment before he came up with an idea and leapt for the platform above the second wing. Link pulled it up to match the wing on the other side and with both wings being raised up it caused the head to lift up slightly as a handle appeared at the top of its head.

"This should do it." Link said as he leaned over and pulled on the handle as he brought the head up to match the drawing. The head clicked into place and caught Link off guard as it jerked suddenly and he fell from the platform.

"Link!" Navi shouted and she watched as Link plummeted from the statue. Halfway down the statue Link used his feet to kick himself slightly upward and away from it. Link landed on the ground with a roll and he swore as he felt as though he broke a rib and his wrist.

"I'll be okay, Navi." Link said through gritted teeth as he pulled a health potion out of his bag and drank it. Within moments the pain began to subside and then disappeared. When Link looked around he noticed that a large blue and gold colored chest had risen from the ground on the near the opposite side of the room from where Navi had discovered the drawing.

"Link, we've found the master chest." Navi said excitedly as she floated up and down in front of it. Link walked over and used the master key to unlock it and when he leaned down, Navi flew in closer to see what it was. Link pulled out a set of golden wings that could be strapped on like a backpack.

"They're wings. I suppose this is how we'll be able to reach those higher levels." Link said as he put the set in his bag and he and Navi quickly made their way back to where Saria was waiting.

"Was there anything up there?" Saria asked and Link nodded.

"I think we found what we need to get to those platforms that we couldn't reach before." Link replied as they went to the one door that had yet to be unlocked. When the group walked inside the now open door they found a narrow staircase going up and when they reached the top there was only open sky ahead of them. On the right wall was a picture of a man flying like a bird. Link then noticed a platform that was in front of the door that was too far to jump to.

"Where do we go now?" Saria asked.

"Put this on." Link said as he handed the golden wings to Saria. "With those on you can fly and since our weight is only that of half of an adult we should be able to make it."

"Should be able to?" Saria asked fearfully as she strapped the wings on.

"There's only one way to find out if this will work." Link pointed out. Saria sighed and took a deep breath as she and Link stepped to the edge and with Saria's arms wrapped tight around Link, they leapt into the air.
