Wielder of the Omnitrix
Chapter 3
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or Ben-10, but I do own this fic as well as any original techniques and the like.
I apologize for how long it took me to get this chapter typed up. It's been pretty much finished since Christmas of 2017, but things have just been difficult and I've also partially been too lazy to really finish typing this chapter. Also, just a warning, it's going to be a fair amount of time before I work on the next chapter in this fic since I'm busy with life issues as well as trying to focus on TAS, which is the main story I've done. I have a ton planned for it in the future since it's not going to be a one part story like this one will be, and will instead be a series, so it will be my main focus for now. So I also apologize to those that will want me to work on this fic, but it will be a while. Anyways, enough of my rambling, here's the third chapter of WotO.
A few days pass with nothing new really happening. Naruto works a bit more on his crystal gauntlet, and is about eighty percent done. He uses Greymatter to work on his hoverboard a bit as well, in order to try and enhance it capabilities, but there isn't that much than can really be done, besides minutes speed and hover capability improvements.
Naruto showed Sasuke his tree-house and where he went to relax, but leaves out the matter of the Omnitrix knowing he'll bring it up at a later point – likely when he gets put on a team; especially if he wants to use his forms.
The two ravens have bonded together, becoming what Naruto would call friends; though he's uncertain as to Sasuke's take on their acquaintanceship. Over the past few days, Sasuke has come over to Naruto so that they can spar as well as practice with their hoverboards, allowing them to become more adept as well as creative.
Naruto wishes to keep the Omnitirix quiet for as long as he possibly can, but with Sasuke always being around, it makes it difficult at times. He always seems to show up just as Naruto is reverting back to normal. If Naruto tells anyone first – besides Hiruzen, whom he's already told – it'll likely be Sasuke. He's thought of telling him a few times, but he never has.
The first day of the weekend rolls around, and Naruto just finishes his morning routine when Sasuke arrives at his place, ready to move over downstairs. Naruto pulls on a shirt, grabs his board, and follows Sasuke to his place, locking his own door behind him. Sasuke's apartment is fairly similar to Naruto's, but with more company – which is most likely fangirls. Sasuke invites Naruto in then shuts the door. Naruto looks around, and is glad that he remembered to grab the scrolls that had held his old purchases.
"Let's try to do this quickly… and quietly." Sasuke says. "It's the main reason I came so early. I'd rather be gone when the fangirls awaken and start swarming my place."
Naruto nods. "That makes sense. If I know them – which I'm sure that I do – they'll bitch and moan, and cry and beg you not to leave."
Sasuke nods, and the two then begin working on packing up Sasuke's place sealing everything into the scrolls. It takes about two or so hours, and they manage to get most of the place sealed and ready to go. Only a large wardrobe, the futon and quilts, and a few other things remain since they ran out of scrolls.
"That wardrobe is going to be a pain to move, let alone seal." Naruto says, earning a nod. "It belonged to my parent, and I'd rather not leave it." Sasuke replies.
"And we won't. I just said that it's going to be tough to move."
Sasuke then pokes his head out his door, before pulling it back inside. "We're clear for now, but we should go before any girls show up."
Naruto nods, and begins pocketing scrolls, as does Sasuke. They then head back to Naruto's place and quickly enter the lower apartment that Naruto had already gotten a key to for Sasuke. He unpockets the scrolls he has before turning to Sasuke who's unsealing and sorting items. "I'm going to go and get the rest of your stuff, toss me your key."
Sasuke fishes the key from his pocket and tosses it to Naruto, who snatches it out of the air before exiting and making his way back to Sasuke's old apartment. He has to wait as a handful of fangirls try to peek into the apartment, which takes about ten minutes before they eventually give up. Once clear, he quickly enters and locks the door behind him.
He seals the rest of the items, plus the futon on quilts, before turning to the wardrobe. 'Now then, how do I go about sealing this thing?' He ponders to himself. He moves to and examines it to see if it can be partially disassembled, but to no avail. He frowns and leans up against it, causing the Omnitrix to beep.
Naruto's eyes widen, and he looks to the device, the selection button of the device extended with a new alien image being show, tempting Naruto to press it, which he does. His muscles begin to ripple and enlarge, his body grows bulkier and taller, an extra pair of arms grow beneath his original ones, and a second pair of eyes appear as well. His skin becomes a dull crimson hue and his eye shine a dark yellow. Donned are a tight-fitting four-armed t-shirt similar to his normal shirt with the Omnitrix icon in the center of his chest, as well as a pair of snug black pants, revealing his large, bare feet.
When the change finishes, Naruto examines his new form, almost smacking his head against the ceiling of the room. He squats before taking a moment to get used to the extra limbs, as well as the double-vision. The arms are easier to get used to, but the vision takes longer, before he's finally able to focus, giving him a massive field of view. He clenches and unclenches his fists, watching the muscles in his arms tense and flex.
"Whoa… this guy is big." He says in a deep voice, even more so than Diamondhead's. "I wonder what this guy can do, though I'm guessing that due to the second set of arms, he has some serious strength. He then turns to the wardrobe, and grips it experimentally before lifting it with fairly relative ease. The wardrobe raises a foot off the floor, and even though he sets it down gently, it still makes a fairly decent thud. He grins, lifting the wardrobe again, before sliding a sealing scroll under it with his foot, leaving the scroll partially exposed, before lowing it with another thud.
"This guy makes moving a cinch." He says aloud to himself, before he hears the telltale warning tone of the Omnitrix since adjusting to the new form took most of the ten minutes. He reverts to normal in a flash of red, before going cross-eyed and blinking a few times. 'That's going to take a little while to get used to. As for this, it's going to be interesting figuring out how to explain how I managed to get this thing onto the scroll.' He thinks, before kneeling and pumping his chakra into the scroll, sealing the wardrobe in a plume of smoke He then pockets the final scroll and moves to the door, carefully poking his head out. Satisfied that it's safe, he quickly exits and locks the door, before hoverboarding fairly quickly away from the apartments back to his place.
He eventually returns and enters Sasuke's new place locking the door behind him, before dismounting his board. He sets the scrolls not containing the wardrobe near Sasuke.
"Took you a while, Naruto." Sasuke says.
"Your old place was surround, so I had to wait a while. The wardrobe is another story however, though I managed to get it." Naruto replies. "Though, I think you should place it last." He continues, noticing the amount of space left in the apartment.
Sasuke nods. "So how'd you manage to finally seal it?"
Naruto bites his lip. "How about I explain that when we finally get to the point of unsealing it. I've actually been meaning to tell and show you something for a while now, but have been stalling."
Sasuke turns to Naruto and raises an eyebrow. "If you say so. Lend me a hand with all of this would you?"
The duo then works on setting up Sasuke's new place, and Naruto realizes that there's not going to be enough space for everything, so the two make a fairly neat pile of stuff that still need to be placed somewhere.
Sasuke then turns to Naruto. "You said you'll explain when we get to the wardrobe, but we're out of space for everything. However, due to this, I believe you'll be needing to explain sooner since I believe it has something to do with how you remove the wall, am I correct?"
Naruto nods, before taking a breath, then raising his arm to show the Omnitrix to Sasuke. "This is what I've been meaning to tell you about. This device allows me to do some pretty crazy things." He says before beginning to recap on when he got the device all the way up to the present. "I don't why it was me that had found it, but it's changed my life. The boards, the kunais, the cavern next door; they're all byproducts of this device."
Sasuke blinks. "So, this device allows you to manipulate objects, or something along those lines?"
Naruto shakes his head. "Not quite. It grants me a number of forms that I can change into, each one with their own unique set of abilities. I've been keeping it quiet because I don't want to cause more problems towards myself from the villagers. However, they'll learn eventually since it's only a matter of time."
Sasuke nods. "That's, uh… cool?" He says, not really sure how to respond to this new information.
Naruto maneuvers around Sasuke in the cramped room. If you want me to remove the wall, we need to first make some space. The form I use is fairly large, and I'll need space to move him." He says, while moving stuff around to make more space – enough to reach from floor to ceiling in about a five-foot-wide area. He then fiddles with the Omnitrix, turning the dial to find Diamondhead, the turns to Sasuke. "You may want to back up a little bit." He says before slamming his open palm down on the upraised portion.
Sasuke backs up and watches as Naruto changes. His skin ripples and he grows larger, followed by his skin beginning to crystalize then cracking lightly near his joints, before changing to a light-greenish-blue hue. The contours of his limbs and body are more trapezoidal compared to a normal being's rounded contours. His outfit is a full body-suit that's white on the left side and black on the right, with the boots built into it. His eyes glow a bright, pale-yellow, and he has long crystal protrusions coming from his shoulder-blades extending upwards at an angle before stopping a bit above his head. Once finished changing, he looks to Sasuke. "So… what do you think?" He asks in a deep voice that resonates with the sounds of crystal clinking due to his jaw movements.
Sasuka stares at Diamondhead-Naruto, not really sure what to say. He is a bit envious of Naruto though, since he seems to be easily stronger than himself. Naruto waits for a few seconds, before turning to the wall and changing his entire arm into a giant crystal blade, then proceeding to cut through the wall. He gets thorough and uses the larger area to his advantage, and works on the wall from this side instead. It takes about ten minutes to fully remove the wall – diced into more manageable pieces. He then places his hands on a wall and coats the place in a thin coat, sealing off the unnecessary door.
As he finishes crystal-coating the place, the Omnitrix begins beeping, before reverting Naruto back to normal. He turns to face Sasuke. "One wall removed, and an entire apartment coated in crystal. Now you've got plenty of space to work with."
Sasuke stares at Naruto, or more precisely, the Omnitrix. "What other things can that thing do?" He asks.
"Currently, I can use it to change into seven different forms. The one you just saw is called Diamondhead, and is made entirely of crystal. He's the one I used to make my knife, your kunai, and the main section of our hoverboards. I have one that I just acquired, but haven't named yet, which is the one I used to lift the wardrobe so I could seal it. I then have a small, amphibious-like guy that I call Greymatter; he's the one who created the actual grav-repulsor mechanisms of the hoverboards and allows them to operate. I then have four others that are reminiscent of the chakra elements. There's Hypervolt for Raiton (Lightning Release), Aquasurge for Suiton (Water Release), Earthquake for Dōton (Earth Release), and Typhoon for Fūton (Wind Release). I have a possibility to get a Katon (Fire Release) form as well, but I haven't reached a specific event to unlock it yet." Naruto explains.
Sasuke blinks. "So you're possibly able to control all five of the chakra elements?" He asks, earning a nod, then remaining silent for a moment, letting this information sink in. "So which is your strongest element?"
"Raiton is my strongest, followed by fūton and suiton, then followed by dōton and katon. As of now, I'm unsure if I have any dual-elements, but only time will tell."
Sasuke nods, and keeps quiet, unsure of what to say without sounding like an ass towards Naruto.
Naruto waits for the Omnitrix to recharge and begins working on sorting out Sasuke's apartment. About an hour passes as the duo quietly work, making the apartment look decent. Naruto then picks up the wardrobe scroll, which he moves to an open area before unsealing it. He then messes with the Omnitrix and changes into his new form – whom he still hasn't named yet.
Once changed, he lifts the wardrobe and moves it to a decent looking spot, before setting it down with a thud. He then turns to Sasuke and sees the look on his face. "What?" Naruto asks.
Sasuke shakes his head. "You have four arms and four eyes; it's just… kinda weird."
Naruto blinks before looking to his arms. "Four arms? That could work." He says, thinking aloud, which causes Sasuke to stare at him and cock his head in question. "Sorry, I was just thinkning aloud. You just gave me an idea on what to call this guy, that's all."
The rest of Naruto's transformation passes in awkward silence, only interrupted by the warning tone of the Omnitrix, which ends when Naruto returns to normal. "So… yea. The Omnitrix has some cool abilities, and it's done a lot for me since I found it, yet I still don't know everything there is to know about it."
"Where exactly did you find it?" Sasuke asks.
"In the clearing where you first learned to use the hoverboard."
Sasuke blinks, then shakes his head. "Right… anyways, let's finish straightening up the apartment. I'd like to finish before the sun sets."
Naruto nods, and the two then continue working on the room, setting it up how Sasuke wants. Naruto then has an idea, and changes into Diamondhead, before proceeding to make a number of different sized boards which he then melds together, construction a large cabinet with shelves inside. HE makes two more boards – thinner than the others – and sets them to the side for later.
Sasuke approaches and looks at the cabinet. "What are you doing?"
Naruto looks to Sasuke, and moves to the side. "It's a weapon's case. You can store and display pretty much any weapons that you own within."
"That's pretty convenient. What are those two board for?"
"I don't have any hinges at the moment – and don't know if I could make any that would work – but those are the doors. If you need something for the inside, feel free to ask. Just know that weapons still take some time to craft, even if they are kunai."
Sasuke nods. "You made a knife, right?" He earns a nod. "Do you think you could go bigger? Like say… a sword for instance?"
The Omnitrix beeps, before returning Naruto to normal. "Yea, I could make a sword. "Why? Do you have a particular design in mind?"
"Not at the moment, but a sword would be cool to have in the future."
Naruto ponders this for a moment. "I've got an idea, come with me." He then grabs his hoverboard and heads out the door, Sasuke on his heels with his own board. The two head across the village and land outside a small shop. They enter after dismounting their boards. Sasuke takes in the multitude of weapons crammed within, following Naruto to the counter.
A man comes from the back room. "Welcome to Buki to Dōgu (Weapons and Tools). What can I do for ya?" He asks.
Naruto motions to Sasuke. "My friend here wants a sword, but isn't too sure of what kind to get. Do you have any listing or catalogues, or anything of that nature that we could browse?"
The man looks to Sasuke and raises an eyebrow. "A sword, eh? I could make you one, but, aren't you a bit young to be dealing with weapons?"
Naruto pulls of his knife sheathe. "There won't be any need for you to make a weapon yourself, I believe I am proficient enough to do so myself. This knife is an example of what I've created."
The man takes the sheath and draws the knife, examining it thoroughly. "A fine make if I must say so myself. But the material, I've never seen anything quite like it. What exactly is it made of?"
"It's made of a rare, difficult to shape crystal. The object made of it is nigh indestructible. A normal steel broadsword could never hope to break that knife, let alone even chip it."
The man's eyes widen marginally. "Crystal you say? And, if I may inquire, where exactly did you acquire this particular crystal?"
"That, good sir, is a secret that I cannot reveal unfortunately."
"A shame that you should say that. I could possibly make the best tools in all of the Elemental Nations it I had access to it."
Naruto smirks. "Then how about a compromise of sorts?" I coat anything you make in crystal, and you jack up the price, claiming that it's the best tool that money can buy. You can keep a majority of the sale earnings, but I ask for at least a quarter of the earnings. In consequence, you'll be known as the go-to for highly durable equipment that is bound to last for years, if not longer. All I ask for is twenty-five percent of the earnings as well as access to any documentations you may have of weapons designs."
The man blinks, and runs the possibilities through his head. Sasuke looks to Naruto, eyebrow raised. Naruto motions for Sasuke to go explore the shop while he waits. Sasuke nods and leaves to go examine some nearby ninjato.
Two minutes after Sasuke leaves, the man speaks again. "And how do I know that you won't start a store of your own once you accumulate enough, and sell cheaper, eventually running me out of business?"
Naruto shakes his head. "There is no need. My friend and I, we're both orphans of the Kyūbi (Nine Tails) attack, and we would really have nothing to gain from an action of the drastic of a caliber. That's why I'm letting you keep seventy-five percent, in exchange for twenty-five percent and catalogues. How about this? I will provide on occasion, full crystal equipment. That much crystal is bound to earn you a pretty penny in my opinion."
The man looks back to the knife sitting on the counter with its perfection of the blade's design, to the razor-sharp edge, to the expertly wrapped handle. "You really made this, kid?" A nod. "I said it was a fine make, but to be fully honest, it's in reality, an exquisite piece. I've been making weapons for years, and only a handful have ever reaches this kind of quality. Tell you what, you make me five of these, and you've got yourself a deal."
Naruto ponders for a moment. "Three knives. They are fairly tough to make, and the handle wrapping fabric isn't cheap to buy."
The man narrows his eyes. "Four, and I'll provide the fabric necessary for the handle wrappings, as well as any future materials required for their construction."
Naruto smirks. "You know a deal when you see one, as do I." He offers his hand, and the man takes it. "It'll be a pleasure doing business with you Mr…"
"Higarashi. Tezaku Higarashi."
Naruto nods. "You can call me Hōseki (Jewel), Tezaku-san.
Tezaku raises an eyebrow. "Why not give your business partner your real name?"
"For personal reasons – no offense, Tezaku-san. I'd prefer to use an alias due to keep it a secret as to who who'll be receiving your specialty equipment from."
Tezaku nods. "That's understandable. If you wish to only be known by your alias, than it shall be so, Hōseki-san, though I do hope you'll grace me with your actual name in due time. Now… about that fabric. What type of fabric is this, it seems familiar?"
"It's called Me'itsu."
Tezaku's eyes widen. "M-M-Me'itsu? Why such an expensive fabric? Couldn't a fabric for the fraction of the price suffice?"
"It could, yes. But it's not the look I'm actually concerned about. Me'itsu is known for its silk-like softness as well as its extreme durability. I don't want the fabric being damaged in a fight, especially if I'm going to be using the weapon for a long period of time, since the fabric protects the hand from the tang of the blade. It's also hygrophobic (liquid fearing), so it will remain dry even if submerged in any liquid and then removed from it."
"If you don't mind me asking, how is that you know so much about such an expensive, exclusive brand of fabric?"
"I like to attempt to know everything there is about anything that I work with."
Tezaku nods. "Normally I'd say to come back in a few days, but since I've never actually dealt with Me'itsu fabric, I'm not sure how long it'll take to arrive."
"Give it about a week after ordering it. I'll work on constructing the knives in the meantime. Now… as for the weapon catalogues and such?"
"Right. Give me a moment." Tezaku says before disappearing in the back room, returning three minutes later with a stack of documents, catalogues, indexes and other papers. Naruto takes them and seals them into a scroll which he pockets.
"When I bring the knives by, I'll return this scroll. Until then Tezaku-san." Naruto then goes to find Sasuke and the two leave the shop.
Sasuke turns to Naruto. "So how did the bartering go? Did you have any success?"
Naruto shows Sasuke the scroll as they hoverboard back to the apartments. Once arriving they hop from their boards and make their way to Naruto's apartment where Naruto tosses the scroll to the other raven. "Try not to lose any of those. I'd rather not tempt Tezaku's trust the day that I made it."
Sasuke moves to sit on Naruto's bed and opens the scroll, and begins looking through the papers, searching for anything that catches his interest.
Naruto heads to shower, locking the door since he has company. After washing he sits, allowing the water to cascade down his body while attempting to relax.
Sasuke flips through the swords and comes across one that catches his eye. A tsukinogi-metotsu blade. A tsuki-meto blade is similar in design to a katana, but is about half a foot shorter while slightly thicker, maintaining the overall katana's weight. It's still longer than a ninjato, meaning it can still utilize most of the techniques and katas that full-sized swords can utilize while also being capable of a handful of ninjato kenjutsu techniques and katas. He sets it off to the side and notices a beautiful illustration of the tsuki-meto blade.
The blade is a dark azure, yet vibrant emerald at the same time. The honed edge is a brilliant silver that fades to a midnight black as it nears the guard. Said guard is a simple, yet effective design, capable of disarming an opponent if their weapon catches in its crooks. The wrapping of the handle is crisscrossing blue and green. The pommel is a brilliant silver, similar to that on the blade. The weapon looks like an overall masterpiece, and is likely one-of-a kind. He notices at the bottom of the illustration a couple of kanji; 海木 Umiki (Ocean Wood).
'Umiki? Why would a blade of steel be called wood? Or even ocean? Nevertheless, the blade is definitely the work of a master craftsman. Whoever did so must have poured everything they knew into it. It must have been nigh-impossible to have to part with such an exquisity.' Sasuke thinks.
Twenty minutes later Naruto exits the bathroom and Sasuke looks up, as Naruto approaches him. He grabs the picture of Umiki and offers it to Naruto.
Naruto takes the illustration and looks at it. "Nice sword." He then looks to Sasuke. "You're wanting one similar to this, aren't you?"
"I haven't finished going through the rest, but most likely, yes." Do you think that it would be possible?"
Naruto looks at the picture again. "Possibly. Is there an additional information on it?" Sasuke nods, and passes Naruto the other sheet.
Naruto whistles appreciatively. "A tsuki-meto? Beautiful blades, but a pain and a half to properly forge… when done normally. I'd say that a crystal version may take around a month or so to properly create, not to mention I need to make four knives for Tezaku as part of the deal." He rubs his face with a hand. "Knives come first, then I'll be able to start on the sword or whatever weapon it is that you want. Though… it's unlikely that I'll be able to make it a complete replica of that one, even with paint."
Sasuke nods and takes the offered papers back from Naruto and sets them off to the side. Naruto then heads to prepare something to eat, which afterwards, offers the other raven a few onigiri which he gratefully takes.
Sasuke continues browsing through the other papers, but doesn't find any other weapons that really catch his eye that can compete with the tsuki-meto. After resealing all the papers except for the ones relating to Umiki, he looks up to see Naruto in the form of Diamondhead carefully molding the crystal that he creates into a knife-like shape. 'That doesn't look like it should take too long. It looks like he's almost done.'
Naruto then adds – more-or-less, weaves – another layer of crystal across the length that he has already made.
Sasuke moves to watch Naruto work, a bit surprised at how much more complicated the process actually is than initially meets the eye. He remains quiet, even when Naruto reverts to normal and waits to continue as the Omnitrix cools off, before continuing like nothing ever happened. After an hour though, he eventually gets bored and moves back to Naruto's bed and sits down. Without really thing about it, he lies down and closes his eyes, and within seconds is out like a light.
Five hours later, Naruto finishes the fourth weave-layer of the knife and sets it down. He turns and spots the other rave out cold on his bed and rolls his eyes. He reverts to normal and moves to the bed and shakes Sasuke awake, who looks at Naruto blearily.
"Sleep well?" Naruto asks, earning a yawn in response as Sasuke sits up.
"Yes, wait… how long have I been out?"
"Not sure. But with how your body is reacting, I say probably a couple of hours."
"Damn. Sorry for crashing on your bed, I didn't realize I was as tired as I was.
Naruto waves the apology away. "You're fine. It's not like I need it for the past few hours anyways." He then heads to the kitchen to prepare dinner.
Sasuke throws his legs from the bed and stands, stretching. His vision freaks out for a few moments, before returning to normal. He then moves to where Naruto was and picks up the in-progress knife. "It's heavier that yours is, why is that?"
"Huh? Oh, the knife? I'm not entirely sure why it does that, but when it's finished, it'll be the same weight as mine. I've still got a ways to go though, until it's finished. It still needs another four weave-layers, a full coating, and then the actual honing of the blade. The handle is a simple task though, since it's just a simple rod of crystal."
Sasuke sets the knife down. "That's a lot of work. Couldn't you just make it out of a single piece of crystal?"
"I could, but then the weight wouldn't be even, not to mention it would also be heavy. Diamondhead's crystals are inconsistently fickle. They get lighter as you weave more around them, which is why I do, even if it takes longer. A layer on top will be just as durable as a weave, but it will also be significantly heavier."
Sasuke shakes his head. "That makes no sense. It should be the other way around."
"Your kunai, for example, are pretty much a single chunk of crystal, chiseled away into the shape of a kunai. Compare its weight to my knife and you'll feel a significant weight difference."
Sasuke does, and is surprised to find that the kunai are indeed heavier than the knife. He puts the kunai away and re-sheathes the knife. "That's confusing."
"Indeed." Naruto replies as he exits the kitchen with a plate of sandwiches. "Hope you don't mind, but I'm too tired to really cook anything right now."
"It's fine." Sasuke replies and snags a sandwich as the plate is set down.
After clearing the plate, Sasuke thanks Naruto for the food and hospitality, moves to grab his board, and then leaves, heading back to his place, downstairs.
Naruto yawns and carries the empty plate to the kitchen and sets it in the sink, before heading to and flopping down on his bed, landing on the scroll of sealed papers. He groans and rolls to the side, moving the scroll to his nightstand, before crawling under the covers and quickly drifting off into slumber.
