Hello! So I figured I'd give this whole fanfiction thing a try when I happened to look up fics about Accel World only to find only 91 stories in the archive! So instead of moping about it and giving in I thought "Hey, I already help someone in here with their fics, why not try myself?" And now here we are! Enjoy my first little ramble! I promise future ones will be longer!

She knew.

She had always known.

From the day she first laid eyes on him she knew what he went through out of sight of the security cameras.

Day in and day out he would suffer, while she lounged in the warm glow of the admiration of her fellow students. For every insult thrown his way, a dozen compliments were handed to her.

Had she tried to contact him before? To reach out and offer a hand friendship? Perhaps even more? No.

Had she wanted to? Absolutely.

She had even once had the perfect opportunity, and it had come in the form of Haruyuki's first custom avatar. When she had first laid eyes on his first avatar, that of a fierce knight clad in midnight black armor, she had contemplated finally approaching him under the guise of asking about his designing skills.

Of course when she finally had worked up the nerve she found that one of Haru's bullies, Araya, had stolen it, forcing its creator to instead don a simple bipedal pig avatar shorter than even it's real life user.

But instead of confronting his tormentors regarding the theft she had been a coward, preferring instead to watch from afar as the boy she had fallen for suffered abuse after abuse at the hands of bullies and peers who would turn around and shower her with praise and affection.

And so should it have been such a surprise when she finally did approach him that he would suspect some form of sick elaborate prank at play? No, no of course not. It wouldn't be logical to think any other way.

That didn't mean it stung any less when he voiced his thoughts on that street corner between their cable link.

She felt each and every word he transmitted cut into her like a hot knife as she stood, staring down at him with shock clear in her eyes.

Just a pawn. A commodity to be used and thrown away after its usefulness was outlived.

He thought she saw him like that. As trash. That was all. Nothing more.

He had been the center and target of so much hatred, so much malice, over his short life, that the very concept of kindness such as this was foreign to him.

So foreign perhaps, that Kuroyukihime suspected that he himself thought himself unworthy of kindness. Unworthy of love.

No.

No that was wrong. It couldn't be further from the truth in her mind. Damn anyone-... Everyone else's opinions. He was the most worthy to her.

And she would prove it.

She would make it right.

She would give everything...

To make it right.
