Shouto is notorious for falling asleep during movies. Even action packed thrillers lure him to sleep, and it's something that he wishes he could help. He can't explain it, either; there's just something about the sound of voices talking around him that makes him drowsy, puts him at ease and pulls him into a doze.

(His irregular sleep schedule, of course, holds no blame.)

Because of that, it isn't unexpected for Izuku to say, as they curl up together in Izuku's bed with his laptop open on their laps, "Promise you won't fall asleep?"

"Promise," he says, even though he isn't sure whether he'll actually be able to uphold that or not.

He tries, at least. Everywhere he isn't touching Izuku he makes cold, to try and pull himself away from that warm, comfortable place so close to dreaming. But he's long since gotten used to sleeping in extreme temperatures, since back when his control over his quirk was weak and he was too tired to focus, so that barely makes a difference.

He tries translating the dialogue into English to engage himself, but the words on screen come and go faster than he can make sentences, and he gets so caught up thinking of the nuanced differences between Japanese and English grammar that he forgets the plot of the movie all together.

He watches Izuku, who's watching the screen with rapt attention, oohing and ahhing at the right moments as things happen on screen. He might lose himself a little in watching the laptop screen's reflection in his eyes, and committing the patterns of his freckles to memories (again), and wondering whether it'd be worth it to pause the movie so they can kiss –

And he may not be paying attention to the way his breathing is slowing down, or the fact that his eyes are slowly drooping closed, but, he figures, at least he made it through most of the movie.

Izuku wakes him up when the movie ends with a fond look, smile tinged with amusement.

"You promised you wouldn't fall asleep," He says, and Shouto feels guilty, rubbing the grog quickly from his eyes.

"I'm sorry," He says sincerely, but Izuku shakes his head.

"It's okay," He brushes hair back from Shouto's face, and Shouto leans up, pressing their lips together.

"We can watch it again," He offers. "I'll stand, so I won't fall asleep."

Izuku laughs again, soft and light. "It's fine. It wasn't that interesting, anyways." He moves the laptop carefully onto the floor beside the bed and rests his head on Shouto's chest. "Can we nap together?"

"Of course."
