UwU Wats dis? OwO an update after 7 months being AWOL?!
Warning: Mafia. BAMF... everyone, honestly.
Let it be said that, when it comes to Mafia Famiglia, Vongola was known to be the most ruthless among them. Rival Family trespassing their territory? Off to dungeon they go. Someone stole from them? Say goodbye to your working hands. One of Vongola Family members killed, no matter how low they were in the hierarchy? They swam the perpetrators base like a swarm of Japanese hornets, leaving nothing but rubble for the police force to identify. If there was any left, that is to say.
And at the head of this dangerous Family is Sawada Tsunayoshi.
They rarely see him outside of his Family estate, only hearing whispers of his name and appearance when another tragic event has happened in Vongola territory. And when Sawada Tsunayoshi personally made himself known, there's only two reasons he would do so; 1) He's in a Good Mood, which means anyone who met him when he's sunshine and rainbows would rain praises and goodwill on him like he's the pope himself. And when 2) he's in Bad Mood; no one would life to tell the tale. Not that you see him enough to gauge how deadly the Vongola Tenth boss is, but the destruction he brought with him was something akin to the Apocalypse.
All in all, Sawada Tsunayoshi is a wildcard no one without a dead wish wanted to mess with, even with a ten feet pole– because if he can't get to you, his guardians will.
And his guardians was another band of crazy no one wanted to unravel.
For instance, the Family led by one Ricardo Monti allegedly smuggled 3 tons of explosive in Vongola's property. How he did that, no one knows, but the complete annihilation of said Family was well known throughout the underworld.
There was rumours surrounding the decimation of Ricardo Monti, however. Some said Gokudera Hayato himself led the operation, planting multiple explosive on the foundation of their hideout, and arranged it so that it looks like a planned demolition, with reporters and all. That was their only warning before a fast moving object with reddish orange flame rocketed towards the clouded area – thanks to the dust from the explosion in the air, providing ample of cover for whatever it was to land safely and undetected – it was Sawada Tsunayoshi. And those who knew of his power cowered in fear, hastily hiding many of their operation and laid low for years.
The remaining member of Ricardo's Family confessed to horrors of the Vongola after they had been released from their dungeon. Shortly after the building they used as base crumbled, they saw a man with windswept brown hair and thunderous orange eyes, with head aflame of pure sky flames, and gloved hands with metal plating along the fingers and knuckles.
"Well," The man said, and if it wasn't for the absence of smile on his face, they'd dare say that Don Vongola was pleased. "You will do. If you tell me where your boss is hiding, I'll let you go." Of course, everyone within the hearing vicinity knew that a proper underling would never reveal such sensitive information to an enemy Family, much less to their don. They knew it, the Vongola Don knew it, though he seems to be gracing them with a choice before he did an unspeakable to them.
A huff laugh reached their ears – oh no, that wasn't a good sign, and Sawada Tsunayoshi revealed it with an apologetic smile on his face. "Don't say that I didn't warn you."
It was with instinctive fear that made them move their legs, however much it was damaged, when they saw the flames on his forehead disappeared, though his eyes remained orange. "Zero point breakthrough." It was said so calmly that they doubt the fear meter for this man would reach a new height.
The last thing they saw before waking up chained to a metal chair in a dark room, was spikes of freezing crystal enveloping them.
Nothing physical was done to them when petite woman with an eye patch made her appearance. Her single eye roved over them with an innocence they couldn't believe belong to a criminal. "My name is Chrome." She said calmly, lacing her hand in front of her as if she wanted to conduct business. "That's all you need to know."
She's harmless, they all think. However, they should've known not to underestimate someone as harmless looking as her. "Boss said to not damage you too much, let's be thankful he didn't task the Cloud with you."
It was hard to recall exactly what happened to them, but the amount of mind-fuckery generated by a single person 24/7 was enough to drive them crazy. And whenever they catch the sight of her, they would cower in fear. Knees trembling as some of them even pissed themselves should anyone uttered her name.
Beneath that beautiful and innocent facade was a monster laying in wait.
They found out that one shouldn't mess with the harmless looking Guardian. Especially if they're small and innocent.
Thus, it was a surprise when the surviving member of Monti's Family saw a recent picture of Vongola Don plastered all over the Deep Web, advertising Future Reading with 100% Accuracy.
Of course, they scoffed at it, noting how idiotic the notion of a fortune telling from their enemy Don, knowing only Giglio Nero's Family to hold a monopoly on that business.
(They did not consider Vongola to be a contender, much less be too successful at it)
They scrolled over the page containing Fortune requested by the follower, nothing too revealing as they've stated the nature of sensitive information wasn't something to be shared on the platform.
Anon: "My niece [redacted], she's only [redacted] years old. [Redacted], I can't help but wonder how long she has before [redacted]. We've went to [redacted] in [redacted] and nothing has changed. Please help."
One of the admin answered. They'd assume the question was replied via private message before it was posted, as there are many information missing from the conversation.
Ara_ara: "Unfortunately, that wasn't the realm of what [redacted] guardian could do, she has [redacted]. You can take her to [redacted], maybe? I heard [redacted] could [redacted]. Aside from that, I don't have anything to use to help you. Make it worth something."
A couple of weeks later, the same person thanked the admin for the warning, as his niece was able to pass on at the exact time they said she will, and had made it the best time of her life.
Owlets: "Normally, Ara_ara would be happy to be right, but he's been inconsolable since Anon's message this morning. But he was grateful you would do all of that for your niece knowing how much time she has left-"
They didn't continue reading, doubting the tear-jerker story to be real.
That is until they saw another more recent post, this time it was regarding their Family.
DereDere: "I heard Don Vongola released the rest of Monti's underling for the lack of information on their boss. Can you [redacted] instead?"
That couldn't be… someone were they using this site to snitch on them?!
Trisssss: "Thank you for the tip, we'll see if we can find him [redacted]."
Beads of cold sweat formed on the back of their neck, that couldn't be, right? Ricardo was safe in Russia, they personally made it so. They didn't even reveal it even with the Mist user Chrome tortured them mentally!
They scrolled down, noting the lack of reply on that particular thread as it was still new – only three hours ago – should they call their boss and inform him of this possible threat? Or will they fall face first into a trap? Is it a trap to make them panic and frantically head towards their boss? In that case, they're probably being spied on, but from where?
They spent the next few hours ditching and erasing their trace.
(They followed the thread for further information, not noticing the pings of message notification on their inbox)
But it was all in vain as the next reply from one of the Admin chilled them to their bone.
Trisssss has pinned a message in this thread.
"If it weren't the tip from our follower, I wouldn't have thought to ask for some specific information from the Tenth. You see, we've been hunting him for a while, he has been ruffling the wrong neighborhood for some time now. We, the Vongola, had left them be. But with their continuous impudence and ignorance toward the Law, we had no choice but to wipe them out. Let this be a warning for any Family daring to trespass into our Territory. We might let you pass, but break any rules set upon this land and you'll receive the consequences."
Rules and Regulation
Trisssss attached a picture.
Breath were knocked out of their lungs as they processed the high quality photograph of a nondescript grey building. There was nothing to indicate that something was special on this picture but a close up on one of the window on the upper left. Specifically with a broken glass and faded newspaper lining the panel.
It was their room. And to have a picture of it taken so clearly freeze the blood in their veins.
"Don't think you can hide."
This… this was impossible! They've changed their location, twice! How can the damn Vongola pinpoint exactly where they were staying?!
They weren't given enough time to process the warning before the window to their left exploded, sending sharpened debris everywhere; they coughed into the dusty air, knowing it was futile to attempt to run away.
A deafening shout of "Voiiiiii!" reached their ears.
"Varia has staked claim these fuckers as our prisoner! VOIII! You heard that, Baby Boss?!"
Which one was better? Being tortured in the Main branch, or having the Vongola's assassination squad fight the right to maim and kill them?
In hindsight, they should've cooperated from the very beginning.
Being the head of the largest, strongest, and the most ruthless Family would've taken toll on anyone not trained enough with the nightmare that is Vongola Family. With the amount of threat and area they need to secure from an enemy attack, it was no wonder Tsuna left the logistic and bureaucratic nightmare to a more capable hands, leaving him with only vital report he needed to sign, and operations he needs to oversee.
Therefore, it wasn't unheard of of him to miss one or two… important news.
However, with no rival family threatening the safety of his people, Tsuna began to relax, and despite the horror and denial he's always told Reborn; he began the task of rereading the reports from last year.
Not that he particularly want to add more work to himself, but knowing the condition of his Family would make it easier for him to decide on future direction the Family would take without nasty surprise showing up every now and then.
(There's bound to be a spy in their ranks, and Tsuna would find out about it no matter how hard they tried to hide)
Italy was calm, too calm. There were minor dispute here and there, but not enough to ignite the fire of war, and the problem would settle themselves. He would've let it go if it didn't nag on his sub-conscious that Tsuna was missing something. Nothing life threatening, though the nagging feeling that Tsuna was trading through fine thread did not lessen.
Not to mention, his instinct had been too fast than normal. It wasn't a normal "a sharp projectile is going to collide with your head in 0.39 second" type of warning, which he knew how to handle, but the kind of live feedback on numerous information he knew didn't relate to anything with Vongola.
Did his Hyper Intuition develop so… drastically it was able to predict the apocalypse? What the hell is wrong with him?
Should he enact an experiment to see how far it went? Or should he consult with someone? Maybe Timoteo has answers to his dilemma?
Making up his mind, Tsuna dialed the number of his predecessor. Hoping with all his heart that his suspicion were only that; suspicion and not something dangerous.
(But it was all in vain, as his Intuition had develop further than what any of Vongola bosses hoped for)
(He was now able to predict which letter would show up on his bowl as he shakes the box of his Alpha-Bits)
(He could now win any bet inside the manor, and when his subordinates had caught up on what he did, they banned him from playing with them. None too apologetic about it, too.)
(He was also banned from every casino in Europe, to the utmost amusement of Nono)
AN: Will Tsuna unravel the mystery of his strangely prophetic Intuition? Read to find out!
I already have 1/3 of next chapter written so hopefully I'll be able to update sooner. I'm sorry, no Reborn in this chapter :( but Tsuna is closer to the truth than what anyone would hope for lol
DOES THIS MEAN THIS SERIES WILL END?! Idk honestly. We'll see :3
On an unrelated note, should I start uploading on Ao3? I have tons of parody ideas that I think would be archived better there, but I'm not sure if I should... maybe cross-post? what do you guys think?
