New Alliances

'This dainty child is Rido's daughter? My sister?' It was no secret that Senri bore a strong sense of resentment for his eccentric and cruel father so it wouldn't be surprising if he harbored that hatred for his father's daughter too. But as the azure eyed male peered down beneath him he was conflicted to say the least.

'She looks so human.' Senri couldn't help but wonder how a man with a reputation as Rido could possibly create something so innocent but stranger things have occured.

Kaname had other matters to attend to and as such left the two siblings in each other's company, it was as if Kaname was forcing a connection between the two but Senri couldn't decipher why. Without giving it much thought, Senri pulled out a box with unknown contents and offered it to the bewildered Kana. And so the two began munching down a delectable stick of pocky with only the sound of crunching to comfort them.

"... Do you hate me?" Kana's melancholy voice snapped Senri out of his daze and forced him to make eye contact with his blood relative. The question certainly caught him off guard however he made no motion to answer, instead he opted to offer his sister another stick of pocky. Kana reluctantly accepted before devouring it within seconds, she was still left unsatisfied but his lack of an answer cemented what she had already suspected. He clearly wasn't interested in having a relationship with her but she couldn't blame him for that.

"I only share pocky with people I like."

"Yuki." That single word had the power to send a wave of fear down any mortals spine, but Yuki was no human and thus she abruptly faced the direction of the voice her name had came from, and as she suspected it belonged to no one other than Kaname himself.

Ren took the initiative to leave the two siblings in the midst of the tension that was brewing between them, he also wasn't foolish enough to give Kaname the pleasure of seeing him in his current state. He harshly slapped the cuffs of his sleeve across his pale face and wiped the tears dry before hastily making his exit.

"Yes Kaname?" Yuki replied trying to mask the confusion that shrouded her.

"I noticed your absence and came to see if everything was alright, is it?" Kaname inquired.

"Everything's fine Kaname there's no need to worry, and shouldn't you be focusing on your bride I'm sure that's more important." Yuki scratched the back of her head awkwardly whilst painting on a sheepish smile.

"I've left Kana in good hands," He replied whilst preparing to move closer to Yuki.

Kaname intimidatingly made his way forward, each step he took caused Yuki to shudder not knowing how to respond and it wasn't long until Kaname was looming over her fragile form.

"are you really sure everything is alright? I know the announcement must of caught you and Ren off guard so I apologies for that." His words seemed genuine however his tone was stoic which implied he most likely didn't care whether everything was alright or not.

"Ren was slightly disheartened about the news but I'm sure you can understand why, I guess he was planning on being the one to marry Kana." Yuki let out a slight chuckle as she tried to lighten the mood.

"I see. I guess I should speak to him about his feelings towards kana." Kaname insisted.

"No I don't think that's necessary, I think it would be best to let him come to terms with the events of tonight on his own." Yuki bowed her head down as she also came to terms with what had happened.

"I understand, you are his mother after all and I trust your judgement." Kaname let out a faint smile which subconsciously caused Yuki to do the same.

"Perhaps we should both head back in I'm sure Kana would love to see you." And thus both the Kuran siblings made their way back in to the grand hall only to be greeted by the sight of Senri and Kana bonding?

'It seems Kana has grown a liking towards Senri.' But that was what Kaname had intended from the start.
