The Oracle sighed looking up at the Olympian that towered over her.
"What did you see?", He demanded.
She didn't want to admit what she'd seen to the King of the Gods. But she knew Zeus had been told that she'd had a vision about mass destruction. He wasn't the kind of god top take no for an answer.
"Well?".
"It was of Percy, son of Poseidon", the Oracle admitted.
"Percy?", he exclaimed surprised, "No, he's just a demi-god".
The arrogance that leaked from his words make the Oracle shake her head. He wasn't shocked that Percy could be an enemy, no he was focused on the idea that a mere half blood couldn't pose a threat. Luke Castellan flashed before her eyes.
"What exactly did you see?".
"It was blurry, but it was Percy, and there was destruction reigning down on Olympus around him. He had the lightning bolt".
Zeus features went from annoyed to furious, "The lightning bolt!".
The oracle went to speak but Zeus raised his hand silencing her, "Leave, now!".
With her departure Zeus was left to ponder this revelation.
Percy admittedly was strong. He'd saved them countless times from a multitude of enemies and destruction. But still he was just a demi-god, a half blood. How much of a threat could he really pose to the Olympians?
Feeling the warmth, the lightning bolt emitted, he sighed. As reluctantly as he was to admit anything part human could dare pose a threat, he remembered Luke Castellan. He to had been a well-respected demi-god and he'd turned traitor.
Percy was human so obviously he was weak to the manipulations of others. Maybe that was what this was. Yes, the demi-god posed no real threat, it would be the result of some form of evil's machinations.
He knew he still had to deal with Percy somehow, but it was a comfort to his ego.
The doors suddenly burst open and Zeus turned to demand the meaning of such an intrusion. It was Hermes breathing heavily as he faced his father.
"What is it?".
Hermes's face lit up.
"Percy did it?".
"Did what?".
"He defeated a Titan".
Zeus went rigid. The demi-god boy had fought a titan. Zeus nodded and brushed the God off by saying he was retiring.
Sitting upon his throne he felt frustration well up inside him. This was followed by a feeling of dread, the Oracle had to be right. He had to be responsible for this future destruction and he couldn't afford to have such a powerful half-blood running around unchecked.
Percy Jackson had to be disposed of, but how? The other gods were to close with the boy to just take his word for it.
