Merlin and Arthur reunion.

Summary: "Tell me something only Merlin would say" Reunion fic, Bromance, one-shot

Author's note: I don't own Merlin, never, have never will.

When Arthur rose out of the water onto the banks of the lake of Avalon the first thing he saw was Merlin.

They stared at each other completely bewildered for a few seconds.

Arthur was the first to break the silence. "Merlin" he said before taking a step towards his manservant.

Suddenly Merlin put his hands over his face and began muttering to himself.

"It's not real, it's not real. He's not here. He's dead!"

Arthur moved closer. "It is me Merlin!" he insisted "I'm not dead".

"Then you're a vision, a ghost" Merlin reasoned.

"If I'm a ghost, how am I touching you?" Arthur asked grabbing Merlin's wrist, pulling Merlin's hand away from his face.

Merlin looked at Arthur slowly, still not believing his eyes. Arthur stood there in his armour not a day older than when Merlin last saw him.

"Tell me something only Arthur would say. Then I know you're real."

Arthur thought for a moment then smiled.

"Dollophead"

"That's my word!" Merlin complained. "I said pick something only Arthur would say."

Arthur looked straight at Merlin and said. "You are the most useless manservant I have ever had."

A ghost of a smile appeared on Merlin's face and he stepped forward.

Arthur, though stepped back. "Hold on. How do I know you're the real Merlin?"

Now Merlin looked incredulous for a moment, then he smiled. "Let's go, you lazy daisy." he said.

Arthur didn't look satisfied. "Merlin, you can do better than, that."

Merlin thought for a moment, he had the perfect thing.

"Now Sire." he said "You look as fit as ever, we need to keep you in shape. We don't want any more holes in that belt.

"MEERRLINNNN!"

Merlin was rolling on the ground laughing, as Arthur yelled turning red. To any passers-by it would have been a strange sight. But both Merlin and Arthur knew, everything was okay now.
