This story is just one-shot, but it will be significant. Check it out!

GDR: Blessing in Disguise

Los Santos, CA, USA

11:50 AM; July 9, 20XX

"God, where are you?"

A little boy whimpered, as he walked through a narrow pedestrian-only bridge, which rose above the highway below. He cringed, as humans after humans fled in one direction, with those...former humans chasing after them.

Screams and roars echoed from below, as the zombies managed to strike some of their quarry. The boy winced, as sounds of bones cracking, flesh ripping, and blood dripping rang into his poor ears.

"God, where are you?"

He silently walked up the bridge, careful to duck down and walk hidden. Zombies after zombies chased after hordes after hordes.

"God, where are you?"

Suddenly, he felt a shiver, and turned around.

A zombie appeared hundreds of meters away. Although far away, it saw him. He walked slowly, almost crawling. The zombie approached.

"Come on..."

He crept away.

The zombie came closer.

"Come on..."

The zombie then started to jog.

"Come on..."

He tried to speed up, trying to not provoke it.

"Oops!"

He tripped on a rock, and hit the ground with his left knee.

"Ouch!" he winced.

The zombie stopped, then ran.

"Oh shoot!" he yelled, got up, and ran.

The two kept running and running.

"God, where are you?"

He kept running.

It kept running.

"God, where are you?"

He kept running.

It kept running, and was drawing closer.

In life there is hope

And there is nope.

In life we go through times

That can turn like limes.

In life I was feeling bad

Going like crazy mad.

"Oh no!"

He tripped again, this time too tired to stand up.

The zombie closed in.

"Sorry, mom, dad, God."

He moaned, feeling despair trying to rip away what little hope he had left inside.

"God, where are you?"

He watched the zombie raise its hands, its mouth open and bloody...

But now, see!

And I tell now thee:

"Augh!"

The zombie's scream echoed in his ears, as someone slaughtered the monster. He only saw flashes of golden and magenta lights, as he looked up to see who it was...

...but he started to feel dizzy, and all he could see was a vague silhouette of a girl, and she spoke to him:

"God is here."

"Th-thank you," he replied, collapsing into a sudden but sweet dream.

In life there is hope

And there is nope.

In life we go through times

That can turn like limes.

In life I was feeling bad

Going like crazy mad.

But now, see!

And I tell now thee:

I am free at last!

So, I make this poem

In honor of this day

On it I shall say:

Thank you to all of you,

Who have been with me

In times high and low

And I praise God

For this small but significant

Blessing.

"God, you are here."

Thank you for all of your support. This one-shot is basically a reflection of my soul. What happened was that today (9/7/2017), my house finally got wifi Internet for the first time in about two months! Hence, I write this poem, in honor of that. This story is just an exercise to try out another way of writing. Thank you for all your support, and please check out "Girls Dead Rise" official story, the one with "War of California"! I hope you all have a great day, and may God bless for the smallest blessings of life!

Sincerely,

SeekerMeeker
