He could slay his kinsmen over and over, drown in their dirty blood, relish their panicked screams, and continue on to strengthen his organization, Akatsuki, as he did so, without any hesitation or regrets.

All the while, he ignored the miniscule part of his heart and soul which screamed out that this was wrong. Rin would never ask for this, she wouldn't approve. Whywhywhywouldhedothis-?

No matter what, this is the only way forward.

And this is a wrap. I know I know this is short. I kind of wanted to focus on what Obito is going through at this stage, let y'all readers get an up close and personal look at his psyche. I don't think he was necessarily crazy in canon, more that he was singularly devoted and obsessed with getting Rin back.

So, basically, he was like most Uchihas.

I'm working on, editing and fixing up the next chapter of Still Here. I'm aiming for weekly updates and I intend to at least be up to chapter fifty by the time December rolls around again. However, my main series, Enjoy the Silence, on ao3, which consists of black reader inserts with anime, game characters, etc. is updated monthly and bi-monthly is my priority.
