Full Summary:
There's a new ranch hand at Heartland; another one of Clint's kids. Georgie takes an immediate like to her, though no one truly knows why she was in trouble to begin with. What happens when a new horse at the farm starts to bond with the new ranch hand? How special is she? And will the connection lead to something greater than even Clint knew? Will she become a member of the Bartlet household?
A Misunderstood Girl:
Everyone always said that they would take care of me. But I always took better care of myself than any adult ever could. Everyone thought that I was mute. They always yelled at me, asked me questions and expected answers, never seemed to understand why I never answered them. I would runaway constantly. Nobody ever cared anyways. The people that I stayed with never reported me missing, because they wanted to keep the checks coming. And when the states did find out, the checks stopped and they were reprimanded. But they always said that I ran only a few days before CPS ever found out. They said I was a problem child and that I couldn't be helped. They never knew the real truth; they never asked.
When Clint got my file, he said he knew just where to send me. He said many of his 'problem' kids always turned out fine after a while at this home. I figured I would give it a try. When he took me out to Hudson, I was speechless. Nobody had ever brought me out to a farm to keep me from running away. But it wasn't the country that made me speechless. I had never heard of Heartland. It was how close in proximity I was to my true goal. All I needed was a way to get to my goal without anyone finding out.
When we got out of the car, an older man was sitting on the porch. He had a dog by his side and young girl about my age was with him. They were talking. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but I figured it was something that was none of my business. Clint waited for me to get out of the car before moving up to the porch. I stayed next to the car, but did manage to grab my backpack and duffel bag. I looked around. There were horses everywhere which told me that these people could be trusted, though I didn't really feel like trusting them. I needed to know that I could trust them before I told them anything.
How would they feel once they learned the truth about me? How would Clint react when he learned just who I really was? And will my family still be alive?
