"Pondside Encounter"

I sat by the pond, mesmerized by the minute ripples the wind caused from time to time. My miniature sailboat bobbed gently in their wake, floating languidly to the other side of the pond with the breeze. The white canvas made a stark contrast against the muted teals and blues of the water.

Slowly my gaze drifted upward to the grassy green banks. A dirty toad jumped, making me start with its gigantic splash of water. A gaggle of giggling children chased after it with glee and merriment, their grubby hands outstretched for capture.

I sighed and returned to the waving blades of grass. Here and there, a flower waved on a long bended stem, caught by the playful fingers of the wind.

I sighed once more and closed my eyes, waiting, forever waiting. Rocking back on my heels as I stayed squatting by the embankment, I basked in the warm muted heat of the sun. I closed my eyes again, seeing the orange fiery brightness of the sun through my eyelids.

Rather suddenly, it was replaced by a subdued darkness. Thinking it was only a cloud passing ahead of the sun, I kept them shut. Then two warm and slightly callused hands covered my closed eyelids, not unkindly.

"And what delectable treat do I find here?" A husky voice asked, as soft lips brushed my earlobe. I couldn't help a violent, albeit wonderful, tingle that crept down my spine.

A joyful cry tumbled out of my mouth as I twisted out of his reach before turning and pouncing on my previous captor, knocking him to the ground. I straddled his waist, pinning him to the ground, absent-mindedly brushing a piece of rebellious curly hair out of his eyes. Smiling, I cried an exultant, "Herbert, you came!" before hearing, and feeling, his rich low laugh.

I closed my eyes in sheer ecstasy before lying down, stretching fully atop of him. Tucking my head under his chin, I heard the quiet, "Of course I did, Pip," before relaxing in perfect contentment.

Notes: This was basically just a one-shot scene of absolutely…nothing. I guess I just like the idea of Pip and Herbert in more than friendship-kind of love. Anyways, please review if you have a few seconds…I'd like to know what you think!
