Hello, guys. This is NewComer1.
This may come out of all the sudden, but we live in a very crucial, important time in history and our lifetime. We know what's been going on around the country, not to mention the current pandemic. This year may started rough, but two things we cannot accept to have happened or rather what's happening now are racism and civil injustice.
We cannot be quite about this. This is a very serious problem. We know that this is a serious issue that isn't new. It is been part of our history here in USA, but with enough hope and understanding, we can overcome this. We will keep marching and protesting until the change we want comes. However, as much as that is, it is also unlawful for to loot businesses and potentially ruin someone's business life. We have to do this peacefully, but also passively aggressive.
Thank you very much to reading this far and enjoy the new chapter. I will see you all at the end.
Chapter 66
Wing vs. Claw
Click, click, click. Tap, tap, tap.
In the basement room, Yu aka Morse and his best friend, Tom were researching and hunting down for the rest of the Legendary Codes. They only discovered one from the duel Yu had with Playmaker some months ago.
Unfortunately, they weren't having any luck.
"Aaaaaah, this is so boring!" Yu groaned before he turned to Tom, who was working on his desk across from him. "Any luck, Tom?"
"No luck here, Morse," Tom said, bringing sad news. "The scan is been on for several weeks, and no sign of location for the next Legendary Code is found."
"Finding the next Legendary Code is a difficult task," said the pink Ignis that popped out from Yu's Duel Disk. "It's almost a miracle that you had summoned Number 39 – Utopia Data, Master Yu."
"Well, I guess… I thought by analyzing the Legendary Code we have now can help us find the other four codes, but…" Yu turned to the card itself, which was hovering inside a glass canister as the machine was scanning it and projecting it on the monitor next to it. "No matter how many times I look at this code, it is… so different."
"Right," Tom nodded. "The Legendary Code… Algorithm…. It is not something I ever saw. It is always changing constantly, yet it still functions or acts like a real duel card. Not even Rossy can figure it out. It is as if the code itself is… evolving or alive."
"Well, as much as I want to find the other codes and theorizes what the Legendary Code is exactly, I'm bored," Yu said tiredly.
"May I suggest that we should take a break, Master Yu?" Rossy asked.
"Rossy is right, Morse," Tom agreed. "I think having a break from this should be needed. We've been working on this for quite some time. There are other things that I want to do."
"Sure!" Yu nodded. "Maybe I will go see what's going in New Link VRAINS. It's been a while, and I've been itching for a duel."
"According to my data, it's exactly been 9 chapters since you had your last duel, Master Yu," Rossy noted.
"Really? More like it's been almost a year!" Yu gasped.
"What are you both talking about?" Tom asked, looking a bit confused.
"Oh, nothing, Tom. Don't worry about it," Yu teased as he put on his duel disk and stepped into the chamber room.
"Deck Set! Into the VRAINS!"
A blue portal opened in the sky. Codebreaker jumped out of the border, and landed onto his D-Board, starting his long-time break in the virtual world, New LINK VRAINS.
"Ah, this feels great!" Codebreaker said as he stretched a bit while riding his D-Board. "And it looks New LINK VRAINS is just buzzy as it is."
"It seems like so," Rossy noted as there were large users and avatars everywhere.
While on the D-Board, he noticed two familiar avatars just below on one of the floating platforms. He flew down to greet the avatars.
"Hey, Blossom Star! And Silver Wing!" The two avatars looked up to see Codebreaker coming down.
"Codebreaker?!" They both gasped.
"Long time no see!" Codebreaker greeted the two. "What are you guys up to?"
"Just hanging out and all," Silver Wing answered. "What's up?"
"Taking a break from life. Say, want to hang out? Maybe a duel one or two?" Codebreaker asked.
"Sure, we can hang out, but is it OK that you are here Codebreaker?" Blossom Star asked with a concerned look. "You know that SOL Tech is after you!"
"Hmm? Yeah… But, if any of their goon do come after me, I can handle them!" Codebreaker exclaimed. "Until then, let's have fun, kay?"
Blossom Star sweat-dropped at his calm demeanor but decided to hang out.
Silver Wing, Blossom Star, and Codebreaker explored around New LINK VRAINS. They checked out the virtual D-Board shop to see the newest models. They also checked the digital duel card shops. They were even also greeted by some other users who are fans of them, minus Silver Wing, who just watched happily over them, though looking a bit jealous.
Now, they were walking down the virtual street while Codebreaker was licking virtual ice cream. SOL Tech recently updated New LINK VRAINS to add virtual restaurants and food shops. The foods bought in New LINK VRAINS weren't real food, but thanks to the latest technology, the foods were programmed to cause stimulation to the real users' taste bud, so that even though the foods weren't real, users could still feel the taste of the food as if they were eating it in the real world.
"Hey, Blossom Star," Silver Wing whispered to Blossom Star.
"Hmm, what's wrong?" She asked.
"Don't be a surprise, but I sense someone is following us." Blossom Star widened her eyes. "Keep an eye on Codebreaker and keep him distracted. I will deal with it."
"You're sure? Would you be OK?" She asked.
"Don't worry," he said with a confident smirk and thumb-up. "I was one of the Top 10 Charisma Duelists, remember?"
"OK," she said.
"Hey!" They turned to see Codebreaker who was ahead of them. "What are you guys waiting for?"
"Oh, sorry!" Blossom Star ran towards him before she pointed. "Um, say Codebreaker, let's, um, check out that store over there! I think they sell a plushie doll of us."
"Really?" He gasped. "Let's go, let's go!"
While Blossom Star was distracting Codebreaker, Silver Wing turned around.
"Whoever you are, come out! I know that you've been spying on us for a while now!" He demanded.
"Wow! You sure have a sharp eye like a falcon!" A female voice said. The voice belonged to a figure who then appeared before him.
The avatar was a young girl with bright, silver eyes and long, curly white hair. She wore a tiger head mask, which only revealing her eyes while her mouth covered with a dark mask. Her outfit was a golden armor with one arm covered with a silver forearm armor and gauntlet, and white lion clothes waving around the hip. Her body figure was voluptuous, which caught some male users passing by their attention.
Coincidently, a familiar male user in blue armor and big letter M on his chest was also at present.
"Woah! Who is that chick?" Brave Max asked. This avatar user was Naoki Shima from the Den High Academy, the same school where Yu, Tom, Yusaku Fujiki (Playmaker), Takeru (Soulburner), and Aoi Zaizen also go to.
"What a pretty lady like you be spying on us?" Silver Wing asked, almost in a flirtatious tone.
"Well, I was spying exactly on all of you, but only one specific person and that is Codebreaker, but where is my manner? My name is Gladia," Gladia introduced.
"Gladia," said the while eye on her duel disk as she looked down at it. "No time to deal with this human. Our target is Codebreaker."
"Oh, ho! So you are Gladia from what Codebreaker told me about." Silver Wing spoke. "And you want his Legendary Code, the Utopia Data monster card."
"Okay, you caught me!" Gladia said childishly. "I am going after his Legendary Code. What are you going to do about it, little birdie?"
"Tch," Silver Wing gritted with a smug face. "Well, I am usually a gentleman when dealing with a pretty lady, and I will ask kindly. Leave my friend alone."
"Jackal thinks this is pointless. We do not have time to deal with a human who has a record of loss," Jackal stated.
"Woah, Woah! I may have a good eye like a falcon, but I also have a good sense of hearing. Did your AI there said that I am a loser?!" Silver Wing growled.
"Uh, oh. Now you have done it, Jackal," Gladia said in a scolding tone.
"Jackal isn't wrong, based on the data Jackal collected," Jackal said as his eye-rolled.
"Hey, you! Let's duel, right here and now! I'll teach you and your stupid AI or Ignis or whatever it's called that if you ruffle this feather, you get the beak!" Silver Wing demanded.
"Guess we have no choice then," Gladia sighed before she turned serious. "Let's duel!"
"Then, follow me!" Silver Wing raised his right arm to the right, making his D-Board materialize. He jumped on. In response, Gladia summoned her D-Board as she jumped on it, and flew after Silver Wing.
While Codebreaker was looking the other way, Blossom Star glanced back, just seeing Silver Wing taking Gladia away from them.
'Silver Wing!' Blossom Star thought.
"The one who passes by that floating tree over there goes first!" Silver Wing pointed.
"Bring it on!" Gladia replied as she sped up.
She was ahead of Silver, but suddenly, Silver Wing went passed her through so easily, taking the spot.
"It looks like I go first, doll," Silver Wing smirked.
"Speed DUEL!" They shouted.
Silver Wing (4): 4000 LP
Gladia (4): 4000 LP
"First, I summon Feather Fiend – Sniper Sparrow to the field!"
A small, cute sparrow appeared flying beside the owner. Unlike a real sparrow, this one wore a military bandana hat, sniper gun under its wings, and military scope lens monocle for its right eye. It was summoned on the right Main Monster Zone at his side of the field.
"Awww, that's a cute little bird!" Gladia commented.
"Don't get distracted, Gladia," Jackal said. "A look can be deceiving."
"Ascend, the circuit of the far-reaching heavens!" A Link Square appeared just above him in the sky. "The summoning condition is one Feather Fiend monster. I set Feather Fiend – Sniper Sparrow in the Link Marker!"
The little bird entered the Link portal's bottom arrow, turning it bright red. "Link Summon! Ascend! Link-1! Feather Fiend –Power Penguin!" A dark blue, muscular penguin with combat suit and grenade emerged out of the Link portal. Its peak was mostly yellow except for the black coloring on the tip, and some hairs were pointing upwards on the top of its head. Its green eyes shined like an emerald gem. It flapped its wing as it roared.
Feather Fiend – Power Penguin-Link 1, WIND, Winged-Beast/Link/Effect, 1200 ATK, Link Arrow: Bottom.
"Super Penguin's effect activates! Once per turn, I can Special Summon one Feather Fiend monster from my hand next to this card's Link Marker and then it gains 800 ATK. I summon Feather Fiend – Deep Dove!" A beautiful, white dove appeared flying just behind Super Penguin, emphasizing that it was summoned next to its bottom link arrow.
"When Feather Fiend – Deep Dove is Normal or Special Summoned, I can Special Summon one Feather Fiend monster from my Graveyard! I resurrect Sniper Sparrow!" The little sparrow with sniper guns for wings appeared next to Deep Dove.
"Sniper Sparrow's effect activates! Once per turn, it can inflict 300 points of damage for every Feather Fiend monster I control on the field." The small sparrow used its sniper gun to shoot at Gladia, making her wince from the damage.
Gladia (4): 4000 – 900 = 3100 LP
Silver Wing pointed his finger up to the sky. "Ascend! The circuit of the far-reaching heavens!" The Link Portal appeared again. "Arrowheads confirmed! The summoning condition is three Feather Fiend monsters. I set my Feather Fiend – Sniper Sparrow, Deep Dove, and Link-1 Super Penguin to the Link Markers!"
The three avian beasts transformed into three green twisters as they entered the left, right, and bottom arrows on the Link portal.
"Link Summon! Ascend! Link-3! Feather Fiend – Fierce Falcon!" A giant falcon emerged out of the portal very quickly before it flew besides Silver Wing at the relative same speed as him. Its wingspan reached about 30 feet in length, its eyes were sharp and green, and its yellow claw feet looked sharp as ever. It screeched as it was ready for battles.
"So this must be his ace monster…" Gladia mumbled to herself.
"I set a card and end my turn," Silver Wing said. He turned around to face and pointed at his opponent. "Now, let's see what you can do, Gladia!"
Silver Wing (1): 4000 LP
"Oh, I'll show you what I can do, hun," Gladia replied in a flirtatious, joking tone. "I draw and I start by playing the Field Spell, Colosseum – Cage of the Gladiator Beasts!"
It showed a ruined colosseum with glowing blue lines all over the stone floor and structures in the colosseum. The very colosseum appeared briefly for a second before it disappeared shortly with the card in play.
'That Field Spell must be the key card in her strategy for her deck,' Silver Wing thought.
"I Normal Summon Gladiator Beast Darius!" A purple, muscular horse humanoid in an orange armor appeared as it roared for battles and summoned to the Main Monster Zone just above Feather Fiend – Fierce Falcon. "Then, I declare to battle! Darius attacks your Fierce Falcon!"
Silver Wing gasped and widened his eyes. "Are you nuts?! Your monster will be destroyed!"
"That's the plan," Gladia replied as her monster charged in the attack. It swung its weapon to harm Fierce Falcon, but in response, Fierce Falcon struck back with its sharp claw feet, squeezing the armored horseman warrior until it shattered as it made Gladia winced from that.
Gladia (2): 3100 – 700 = 2400 LP
"Now I'll show you why I attacked despite the damage," Gladia called. "Darius' effect activates! At the end of the Battle Phase, if this card attacked or was attacked, I can shuffle it into my Deck, then Special Summon 1 Gladiator Beast monster from my Deck in its replacement. I shuffle Darius back into my Deck and summon Gladiator Beast Hoplomus!"
A muscular rhino in bulky white armor appeared in the replacement of Darius. "My Field Spell activates! I place 1 counter on this each time I Special Summon a monster from my Deck, then all Gladiator Beast monsters gain 100 ATK and DEF for each of the counters on this card."
Hoplomus roared shortly as its ATK and DEF increased to 800 and 2200 points respectfully.
"But not only that, I play the Quick-Play Spell, Gladiator Beast's Counter-Strike!" The card showed Gladiator Beast Darius dodging from an attack on his left and striking back with the weapon in his right hand at the same time. "At the end of the Battle Phase, if a Gladiator Beast monster is destroyed by battle, then I can destroy one monster on the field and Special Summon one Gladiator Beast monster in Defense Position. I destroy your Link Monster!"
Fierce Falcon cried as it shattered into feathers, destroying it.
"No, Fierce Falcon!" Silver Wing cried before he changed his expression. "But, thanks to that, I can activate my Trap Card! Feather Fiend Ambush!" The card showed Feather Fiend Fierce Falcon flying down behind the Goblin Force on the cliffside path, aiming to flank them without being noticed.
"If Feather Fiend monster is destroyed by battle or card effect, I can Special Summon one Feather Fiend monster from my hand, and you gain damage equal to its attack by halved!" He explained. "I Special Summon Feather Fiend – Cryptic Crane!"
A crane holding different techy devices, like a laptop, appeared. Then, it flew quickly and slapped Gladia's face with its wing.
"Ouch!" She cried.
Gladia (1): 2400 – 550 = 1850
"Cryptic Crane's effect activates! When it is Normal or Special Summoned, I can add one Feather Fiend card from my Deck to my hand. I add Feather Fiend – Territory Nest." He added the card to his hand.
"OK, but as I was going to say, I Special Summon Gladiator Beast Attorix from my Deck due to the effect of my Spell Card." A feminine feline warrior appeared next to the rhinoceros humanoid warrior. "I end my turn and due to my Field Spell's effect, it gains another counter and my monster's ATK and DEF increased by 100 points."
Her monsters' DEF increased to 2100 and 2300 respectfully.
"Cryptic Crane's additional effect activates!" He declared. "If this monster remains on the field after it was Special Summoned, it returns to my hand." The techno bird disappeared as it turned into yellow particles, returning to him.
Gladia (2): 1850 LP
"This is good, this is good, but you lost over half of Life Points," Jackal commented as it appeared in his complete true form.
"It's all part of the plan," Gladia said as she grinned at her AI partner.
"That AI! It's an Ignis!" Silver Wing exclaimed, then looked at the duelist. "Why do you have an Ignis like Codebreaker and Playmaker?"
"You know about the Ignis?" Gladia asked.
"I heard it from Codebreaker before, and I also know that Playmaker has it, too," Silver Wing answered before he pointed at her. "If you have an Ignis, then why are you after Codebreaker? Shouldn't he and you be an ally?"
"Sorry, but no can do. I am after something that he has. Have you heard of the Legendary Codes?" Silver Wing widened his eyes.
"Well… That is also what I heard from Codebreaker and Blossom Star, but not much about it other than it's a legend and all," Silver Wing said. "Why are you after the Legendary Code from him?!"
"We won't answer to that, you human," Jackal hissed.
"Fine! I don't need to know except make you lose, and I win!" Silver Wing exclaimed. "My turn, I draw!"
Silver Wing (4): 4000 LP
'I don't know what's the deal with her, but her Ignis annoys me! However, I need to be careful,' he thought. 'Now that I know that Gladiator Beast focuses on returning to the Deck after the end of the battle and if it battled, I just have to summon a monster with enough power to deplete her entire Life Points, so she won't fully use her monster's effect to her advantage.'
"I play the Field Spell, Feather Fiend – Territory Nest!" The card showed a green valley with several birds' nest on each side of the valley's cliffs with many silhouettes of birds flying over the valley. "Then, I summon Feather Fiend – Cryptic Crane and activate its effect. I add one Feather Fiend card from my Deck to my hand, and now, I also activate my Field Spell's effect! When Feather Fiend monster is Normal or Special Summoned, I can Special Summon one Feather Fiend monster from my Deck with its attack halved and that it cannot attack this turn, and it must return to my hand during the end of the turn. Of course, I can only activate this effect once per turn."
He added a new card due to Cryptic Crane's effect and then picked out another card from his hand.
"I Special Summon Feather Fiend – Caring Cardinal!" A friendly, yellow cardinal appeared. It wore a nurse hat with the red cross and carried a small brown handbag across its body, and underneath its left wing.
Feather Fiend – Caring Cardinal – Level 4, DARK, Winged-Beast/Effect, 1500 ATK, 1700 DEF.
"Now, ascend! The circuit of the far-reaching heavens!" The Link Portal appeared above him. "Arrowheads confirmed! The summing condition is two Feather Fiend monsters. I set my Feather Fiend – Cryptic Crane and Caring Cardinal in the Link Markers!"
The two birds entered the bottom-right and bottom-left arrow. "Link Summon! Ascend! Link-2! Feather Fiend – Support Swallow!"
The new monster was an agile blue swallow with a bird of red color on its forehead, and sharp, dark blue beak. Its talon split into two, making it a Y-shape. It was summoned in the right Extra Monster Zone.
Feather Fiend – Support Swallow – Link 2, DARK, Winged-Beast/Link/Effect, 1000 ATK. Link Arrow: Bottom-Left, Bottom-Right.
"Then, I play the Spell Card, Monster Reborn!" He presented the card, making Gladia widen her eyes. "I can Special Summon a monster from either player's Graveyard. I resurrect my Feather Fiend – Deep Dove!"
The dove returned to his side, flying just behind Support Swallow. "Now, Feather Fiend – Deep Dove's effect activates! When it is Normal or Special Summoned, I can Special Summon one Feather Fiend monster from my Graveyard with its ATK and DEF to zero. I Special Summon Feather Fiend – Fierce Falcon!"
His ace monster emerged out of the graveyard portal, screeching for its joyful resurrection. It was summoned next to Support Swallow's bottom-left Link arrow.
"Again ascend! The circuit of the far-reaching heavens!" The Link Portal appeared again.
"Birdbrain is going to Link Summon another Link Monster!" Jackal exclaimed.
"Arrowheads confirmed! The summoning condition is three Feather Fiend effect monsters! I set Link-3 Feather Fiend – Fierce Falcon and Deep Dove in the Link Markers!" The two monsters turned into twisters, with the formal turning into three twisters as they entered the top-left, left, right, and top-right arrows. "Link Summon! Ascend! Link-4! Feather Fiend – Predator Pterosaur!"
The monster that emerged out of the portal was a big orange pterodactyl. Above the wings and body were red with its head completely red. Its eyes were yellow and reptilian-like. Its feet have yellow claws. Its wingspan was much longer than Fierce Falcon's wings like around 10 more feet long. Under the wings, two bombs were attached on each side. It roared as it was summoned next to Support Swallow's bottom-left arrow.
Feather Fiend – Predator Pterosaur – Link 4, WIND, Winged-Beast/Link/Effect, 2800 ATK. Link Arrow: Top-Left, Left, Right, Top-Right.
Gladia whistled. "Wow! That's a big bird."
"It is not a bird. It is technically pterodactyl," Jackal corrected. "And if you think it is a dinosaur, then that is also wrong."
"Whether you think this is a bird or not, it won't help you!" Silver Wing called. "Feather Fiend – Predator Pterosaur's effect activates! Once per turn, I can Special Summon one Feather Fiend monster from my hand, Deck, or Graveyard next to the Main Monster Zone it points. During the turn I activate this effect, only Predator Pterosaur can declare to attack."
"Say what?" Gladia and Jackal gasped.
"I Special Summon Feather Fiend – Fierce Falcon!" His original ace monster returned to the field, summoning next to Predator Pteorsaur's right arrow.
"Great. It resurrected again," Gladia said as she rolled her eyes.
"Then Feather Fiend – Predator Pterosaur gains 200 ATK for every Link Rating of Feather Fiend Link Monsters it links to!" Silver Wing revealed.
Gladia and the white Ignis looked even more in surprise. The flying dinosaur roared as its attack increased to 3800.
"Also, I activate Feather Fiend – Support Swallow's effect!" He declared. "If this card is co-linked with Feather Fiend Link Monster, that monster is unaffected by a card effect."
"Oh my god!" Gladia exclaimed as she put both her hands on her cheeks.
"Battle! Feather Fiend – Predator Pterosaur attack your Gladiator Beast – Attorix! Predator Strike!" The Link-4 ancient avian beast roared as it flew down and sliced the feline warrior quickly before it even reacted, and it even attacked Gladia.
Due to its size, Gladia was trapped by its wings, causing her to lose her balance. She regained control after it stopped and returned to Silver Wing's side.
Gladia (2): 1850 – 1700 = 150 LP
"When Feather Fiend – Predator Pterosaur destroys a monster by battle, it can inflict piercing damage," Silver Wing explained. "I end my turn and during the End Phase, due to Predator Pterosaur's effect, the Special Summoned monster must return to my hand. Since Fierce Falcon is an Extra Deck monster, it returns to my Extra Deck instead."
Fierce Falcon disappeared, causing Predator Pterosaur to lose 600 ATK.
"Gladiator Beast Attorix's effect activates! If she battled, I return it to my Deck, then Special Summon a different Gladiator Beast monster. I Special Summon Gladiator Beast Augustus!"
An armored, purple humanoid bird appeared in the middle Main Monster Zone at her side of the field.
Silver Wing (1): 4000 LP
"I didn't manage to defeat you in one turn, but in my next turn, I will!" Silver Wing pointed out.
"Wow, impressive. No wonder you were one of the Top 10 Charisma Duelists," Gladia commented.
"This human is impressive in his skill, I admit," Jackal noted.
"However, I won't lose and not planning to in this duel!" Gladia exclaimed. "My turn, I draw!"
She looked at the card she drew and her eye widened. "This card…!"
"Hmm, Jackal see. It seems like this is the key card for you to use to win this duel," Jackal said. "Use it, Gladia."
"Are you sure about that?" She said in a whispering tone. "I mean. I can do so."
"Trust in your Deck and your skill, and surely the path to victory will appear before you," Jackal said before becoming serious. "Now, fight or flight!"
Gladia stared at her Ignis partner before she gave him a confident, determined node. "Appear, the circuit of the warrior's heart!" The Link Portal appeared above her. "The summing condition is two Gladiator Beast monsters. I set my Gladiator Beast Augustus and Hoplomus!"
The two warriors turned into twisters, entering the bottom-right and bottom-left arrows.
"Link Summon! Link-2! Gladiator Beast Dragases!" A humanoid eagle wearing in red armor with sword and shield appeared as it squawked for battles in the Left Extra Monster Zone.
"You Link Summoned? Though, it only has 2000 ATK," Silver Wing stated.
"Oh, you haven't seen everything just yet!" Gladia pointed out, catching Silver Wing's attention. "I play the Spell Card, Pendulum Exchange!" The card showed some businessmen at the stock market exchange, looking at the stock going up and down, and some people making a trade, but instead of money, they were using Pendulum cards.
"Pendulum?" Silver Wing noted. "What is she planning to do?"
"By sending one Pendulum Monster card from my hand to the Extra Deck, I draw card equals to the sent monster's Pendulum Scale," she explained. "I send this monster with a Pendulum Scale of 4 to my Extra Deck, so I can draw four cards."
She sent one unknown card to her Extra Deck and then drew four new cards. She quickly picked out the card, one of the four she just drew.
"Now I play the Continuous Spell Card, Express Pendulum!" The card showed a train running on a track in what appeared to be an outer space while the track was glowing like the Northern Light. There were some Pendulum monsters with their heads out of the window on each passenger car on the train.
"By banishing two Pendulum cards from my hand or Extra Deck, I can treat this card to have two Pendulum Scales, so that I can perform Pendulum Summon this turn!" She called.
"Wait, what?!" Silver Wing gasped. "With that effect, that means that you can…...!"
"Indeed I can. With this card, I can perform Pendulum Summoning even in a Speed Duel!" She revealed. "I banish my Scale 3 Gladiator Beast Gaul and Scale 9 Gladiator Beast Provocator!"
She banished the two said monsters, causing the Express Pendulum to glow in a neon-colored aura, causing two pillars of light to appear. Then, two numbers, "2" on the left and "9" on the right appeared above in the sky inside the pillars.
"With this card, I can Pendulum Summon a monster from Level 3 to Level 8." Suddenly, the pendulum appeared above the sky in-between the two pillars of light as it began swaying while Gladia began chanting. "Swing, the pendulum of the warriors' soul! Swing over the arc of light! Pendulum Summon! Appear! The Legendary Dragon with heterochromia eyes! Odd-Eyes Data Pendulum Dragon!"

Meanwhile, just as Gladia was dueling Silver Wing, Blossom Star kept Codebreaker away and doing other things until….
"Beep! Beep!" Rossy's eyes began blinking.
"Rossy?" Codebreaker noticed. "Is something wrong?"
"Master Yu! I…. I sense it! I detect another Legendary Code and it is nearby!" Rossy stated.
"Say what?!" He gasped.
"Codebreaker? What's wrong?" Blossom Star asked.
"Where is it, Rossy? Where is the second Legendary Code?" He asked.
"I am calculating right now. It is on the move, and it is near. We can probably get to its precise location on the D-Board if we act now," Rossy explained.
"Alright!" Codebreaker ran off, leaving Blossom Star with a confused, yet surprised look.
"Wait, Codebreaker!" She shouted, but he was too far away. She quickly decided to chase after him as she jumped onto her D-Board.
Meanwhile, at SOL Tech's VRAINS Security Center, they also detected it, too.
"What's going on?" Akira Zaizen entered the room, looking at the commotion with the alarm going on.
"Sir!" Harami turned to him. "We just detected an abnormally in Link VRAINS!"
"Abnormally?" Akira Zaizen asked as he walked over to the monitor. "Show me it on my monitor now!"
"Yes sir!" One of the technicians showed the data on Akira's monitor desk. The holographic screen appeared in front of him at the commander's desk. When he read it, his eyes widened.
"This is! It is the same kind of wave, data when Codebreaker summoned the Legendary Code some months ago!" he gasped.
"Well, technically it would be a few years ago, at least if you go by how long this fanfiction is," Harami explained.
"What was that?" Akira asked.
"Oh, nothing, Mr. Zaizen, sir!" She jumped.
Also, at the Kusanagi Café….
"Wooooooo!" Ai shivered.
"Whhhhaat is this feeling?!" Flame exclaimed.
"What's wrong with you two?" Takeru asked.
"Kusanagi-san!" Yusaku exclaimed.
Kusanagi knew what Yusaku was thinking. He opened up his computer and checked Link VRAINS.
"Here it is, Yusaku. Is this what you want to see?" He said.
Yusaku, Takeru, and their Ignis partners watched the monitor, showing the same abnormally that the SOL Tech detected just at the same moment. It was also causing Ai and Flame to feel and act strangely.
"What is this abnormally? I never have seen anything like it before!" Flame noted.
"Yusaku, this abnormally, it couldn't be it, right?" Ai asked.
"It has to be. I can feel it, too," Yusaku said. "It must be the Legendary Code!"
"Legendary Code?" Takeru repeated. "You mean that de Legendary Code, the same code that Morse is looking for?"
"That's right," Yusaku nodded. "This wavelength and data are the same things when Morse as Codebreaker summoned Number 39 – Utopia Data."
"No way!" Takeru gasped.
"Is that mean he found another Legendary Code, or he summoned that monster again?" Ai asked.
"I don't think so. This wavelength is similar but completely different," Yusaku said before he got up. "Let's go, Ai. We are going to Link VRAINS and find out."
"Huh, right now?" Ai asked.
"I heard about the Legendary Codes, and I'm curious to see it with my eye. If this is the chance, then I will take it!" Flame decided. "Takeru, we shall go too!"
"Alright," Takeru nodded.
"Be careful you two," Kusanagi warned. "SOL Tech must have detected this by now, too. It is affecting throughout Link VRAINS."
"We understand, Kusanagi-san," Yusaku nodded as he and Takeru entered the VR chamber.
"Into the VRAINS!" They shouted as they transformed into their VR avatar and entered the virtual cyberspace world.
Somewhere else in Den City, hidden from the public eyes, Aoi Zaizen was with Emma Basho at her hideout. Emma also detected the abnormally on her computer.
"What is this? Is it coming from New Link VRAINS?" Aoi asked.
"It is," Emma answered. "And I know what it is. It is something I tried to search for it a long time ago. It is caused by the Legendary Code."
"Legendary Code? That's what Morse looking for, and his father before him!" Aoi remembered.
"You remembered it well," Emma claimed with a wink. "Though, this wavelength is different, similar, but different from what Codebreaker used. It must be a completely different card. How about let's see it in-person?"
"OK," she agreed as they got their duel disk out.
"Into the VRAINS!"

Silver Wing looked speechless, but not that he was afraid. Rather, he was astonished.
Before he was another legendary dragon that appeared a long time ago before the era of VRAINS. The monster was a big red dragon with two large white horns sticking out from the side of its body. Both horns were curved with each has two orbs attached, but one horn had two green orbs while the other one had two red orbs. In the torso area was a big blue orb inside that showed partially. Two white horns were also on its head, though much skinner than the ones on its body. The small blue orb was attached on its forehead, and its eyes were a different color, its right red, and its left eye green. Its upper jaw and face covered with yellow armor. It also had the strange "D" letter on one of its horns. It roared powerfully next to her Link Monster's bottom-left arrow.
"This monster! What is up with this dragon?!" Silver Wing perplexed. "It feels…different!"
Just not far away, Codebreaker and Blossom Star were catching up to them.
"Look, Master Yu. That is it! It's the Legendary Code!" Rossy pointed out.
"And not only that, but it is used by Gladia!" Codebreaker stated. "And she's dueling against Silver Wing!"
"Silver Wing!" Blossom Star shouted.
Silver, Gladia, and Jackal turned around to notice the two approaching them.
"Well, well, well. What the right timing," Gladia smirked.
"So, Codebreaker has come to see our Legendary Code. Codebreaker must have detected it due to his partner," Jackal noted.
"You guys!" Silver Wing shouted back.
"Codebreaker!" Codebreaker looked to his side to see Playmaker and Soulburner.
"Playmaker? Soulburner?! What are you two doing here?" He asked.
"We were about to ask you both the same thing," Playmaker said.
"And we are here because of the abnormally!" Ai admitted.
"And I think I see what's the cause of it," Flame added, making everyone looked at the very monster on Gladia's field.
"That's it! That's the Legendary Code card! It must be!" Codebreaker exclaimed.
"According to my data, Master Yu, you are right. The source of the abnormally is that monster. It must be another Legendary Code, like Number 39 – Utopia Data!" Rossy stated.
"I've never seen that monster before! What is it?" Soulburner said.
"Though, I rather want to know why she has the card more than anything," Playmaker admitted as he looked at Gladia.
"Hmph!" Gladia said with a smug face. "Well, well. Look like we have some audience, Jackal. Just in time for the finale. Let' s show them what we do!"
"Very well, Gladia. Then, tear this birdbrain up! Let the beast have it!" Jackal declared.
Just then, Blue Girl and Ghost also arrived but kept a safe distance from the rest of the crowd.
"That dragon! So that is another Legendary Code!" Blue Girl gasped.
"It looks like so," Ghost Girl added. "Odd-Eyes Data Pendulum Dragon. It's a Pendulum Monster. This is the first I saw a Pendulum Monster to be summoned on the field in a Speed Duel. Let' see what it does."
"Odd-Eyes Data Pendulum Dragon's effect!" Gladia declared. "This card's name is treated as Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon while face-up on the field, in the Graveyard, or face-up in the Extra Deck. Time to battle! I attack your Predator Pterosaur with Gladiator Beast Dragases!"
Her humanoid eagle took its sword and strike on the Feather Fiend monster.
"If she does that, she will lose all of her Life Points!" Ai shouted.
"I am doing this because of this!" She admitted loudly. "Skill Activate! The Warrior's Heart!"
Her armor suit glowed in yellow lights. "When a Gladiator Beast monster attacks my opponent's monster with higher Attack, that monster is returned to the owner's hand and then the opponent takes damage equal to the difference between the Gladiator Beast's attack and the attack of the monster returned to the owner's hand by this effect!"
"Say what?!" Silver Wing gasped as everyone else looked in surprise.
"Since your monster is a Link Monster, it is returned to your Extra Deck instead!" Dragases slashed Feather Fiend Predator Pterosaur in half, making it return to the Extra Deck.
"No way," Silver Wing bleated.
Dragases flew over to Silver Wing and used its sword to attack Silver Wing, giving him damage.
"Ahh!" He yelped.
Silver (0): 4000 – 1200 = 2800 LP
"Now, for the final attack! Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, attack Support Swallow! Spiral Flame Strike!" The dragon's eyes shined as it charged up energy its mouth, and then fired off a spiraling fire breath of red and green fires.
"At this point, Odd-Eyes' effect activates!" She added. "If it battles, any battle damage this card inflicts to the opponent is doubled!"
"Nani?!" Silver Wing gasped as everyone had a similar facial expression.
"Oh, my god!" Ai gasped.
"Reaction Force!" Gladia yelled as the legendary dragon breathed out a powerful spiraling fire breath.
The attack burned away Support Swallow and then attacked over Silver Wing.
"Aaaaaaahhhh!" She screamed as he fell off from his D-Board.
"Silver Wing!" Blossom Star screamed.
Silver Wing: 0 LP
Silver Wing kept falling until he quickly regained consciousness.
"Oh crap!" He cursed as he quickly spread out his arms, creating like birdwings.
He began flapping them strongly. He was able to control his fall, stopping it as he flapped his wings and was flying in midair.
"He's alright!" Soulburner pointed out.
"That was close," Blossom Star said, looking relieved.
Everyone stopped and landed on the lone floating platform, big enough for everyone to stand. Ghost Girl and Blue Girl watched from a smaller platform, safe in distance, but still enough to see them.
Blossom Star tended with Silver Wing. "Are you OK?"
"Yeah, I'm fine," Silver Wing replied with a confident smirk. "But I lost. I guess I am losing my edge."
"No, you weren't." He and everyone else looked to Gladia, who stood a few feet away from everyone else. "You were quite tough."
"Tch. Is that a compliment? Well, I guess I will take it. Win or lose, but…" Silver Wing said as he stood back up and touched on Codebreaker's left shoulder. "My friend here will finish the job where I fail!"
"Wait, what? Is that mean that…?" Ai perplexed.
"It means that they will duel," Flame said.
"Gladia, despites the other human around, this is our chance. Jackal senses it," Jackal said determinedly.
She nodded. "So, what do you say, Codebreaker? Interested in a duel? I am ready for round two!"
"What are you going to do, Codebreaker?" Playmaker asked. "Will you accept her challenge?"
"We still don't know if she is trusted or not. I mean, you did duel her before, right?" Soulburner said, looking concerned.
"Yeah, I did," Codebreaker said. "However, I think this time, it's not going to be easy."
Codebreaker walked up and pulled up his fist towards Gladia. "I accept your challenge, Gladia!"
"That's just what I would like to hear!" She responded with her duel disk activating.
Codebreaker activated his duel disk too, while everyone else stood by and just watched as the duel began.
"DUEL!" They shouted.
