I'm not dead.

To Garnet making a friend was difficult, he wasn't the best at socializing unlike his brother. But there was Jeanne, both socially awkward enough to be friends. Of course, despite Yin's teasing eventually he did fall for the huntress-in-training. Her beautiful smile, deep dreamy blue eyes, and her determination not only for self improvement but to help others.

Easy to say, Garnet had a crush on her, hard. Jeanne's incredibly thick senses made the effort much worse. He wasn't confident and bold like Yin. For certain Garnet did not have the aloof charm that Blake has. Weiss's "Prince of Ice" attitude with his warming sheepishness? Not a chance. The grimms would talk and sing the day Garnet even have some semblance of their appeals.

"Garnet Rose!"

"YIN DID IT NOT ME!"

"Jeanne Arc!"

"IT WAS RONDEL THAT TOUCHED THE COOKIE JAR I SWEAR MUM!"

The professor in question crossed his arm with a glare that could cut steel. The others stifled a chuckle and some did an "aww" expression, though Garnet doubted it was for him.

"Oh." Both question student said.

The ever deadly glare of the great professor Onizuka pierced Garnet and Jeanne, with each recieving marker thrown at their forehead. The class wasn't sure to laugh or stay silent when seeing the professor's aura flairing like a cursed whip.

"Detention, two hours from each of you. Say another word and it will extend to next week." Onizuka warned.

"Yes, Professor." Both said dejectedly.

After being woefully abandoned by their respective teammates the room was deadly silent. On the bright side, the professor left to take care of business, with a pack of cigarettes in hand. Jeanne and Garnet talked like all friends do. They talked as long as they could, but the conversation turned to the most dredded one.

"Yeah my bro's girlfriend is really awesome! She's a huntress." Jeanned said admiringly. "They're always so happy together. They do get really lovey dovey though."

"Tell me about it, Yin is like that whenever he has a girlfriend." Garnet said with a sigh.

"He has a girlfriend?" Jeanne said.

"Not right now but when he had one." Garnet sighed. "He would tease me and show off all the time."

"How come you don't have one?" Jeanne asked innocently.

"I doubt anyone would go out someone awkward as I am." Garnet said dejectedly.

"What!" Jeanne shouted in disbelief. "You're so awesome, it's their loss then."

Garnet turned away from her gaze as he scratched his cheeks sheepishly. Garnet gathered his courage then asked the most important question of his teenage life.

"D-do you have any boyfriends?"

"Nope... not like anyone would want someone like me anyways."

Garnet shot out from his desk. "That's not true any guy would be lucky to have someone beautiful as you!"

The ringing echo died down and the two young hunters shyly faced away, unsure to what to say next. Jeanne sheepishly glanced at Garnet as she played with her hair.

"Do you really think I'm beautiful?"

Garnet did not lose heart, he nodded. "I think you are, I mean it"

If an outsider would have watched the scene they saw a pink hue with red roses surrounding the couple to a sickening degree. The two possibly-to-be-lovers locked into a enchanting gaze, both lured by their respective clear and color of their eyes. Garnet went in for the kill, he grabbed both of her hands then spoke clearly.

"Jeanne, for the longest time I-"

The door slammed open with Professor Onizuka walking in. The cigarette in his mouth dropped when he noticed a soon to be loved confession. He wasn't going to lie, he felt extremely guilty about it.

"You two can go back now..."

With that Jeanne and Garnet walked back together sharing silence.

"Hey Garnet..." Jeanne called.

"Yeah?"

"Thanks."

The blush tinged face with a smile, the interrupted moment went on to be forgotten by Garnet. Yin however noticed the expression on his brother and went on to tease him. However, that wouldn't ruin his mood either, not for weeks to come.

Weiss was a prudent man, he was certain of that. He thought of nothing but the future and on how to improve his team. Though once in a while he would be slightly bitter over Garnet becoming the team leader. What he couldn't believe was Jeanne being the leader of team JNPR. Jeanne, the short girl that is if not more immature than Garnet himself. How could someone like her be a leader?

The thought echoed in his mind as he strolled the school ground in the evening. There wans't much to do but enjoy the garden nearby the training area. Weiss heard a faint sound of a feminine grunts and smack of a dummy. The training room being occupied on a Friday night was rare, he decided to investigate. Inside majority of the lights for the training room was turned offsave for one area.

Is that?

Jeanne swung her sword then went into a defensive stance as if she was facing off an enemy. Over and over Jeanne would practice various forms and some was too familiar. One was Achilles's forms in shield stance, another was a the swift swings of Blake's. Weiss kept on watching, it wasn't as if he wanted her to use his style, she wasn't skilled enough anyways.

Jeanne panted as she took a gulp of water, she turned her scroll to play the next video. Weiss's eyes widened when it was him in a match in his youth. Jeanne tried to mimic to a low degree of success, using the word "success" was an insult to success. Jeanne tripped over and over when it came to more graceful movements. Jeanne's face changed taht of frustration then to determination, like a flower that struggled to bloom.

Weiss wasn't sure how long he had been watching. It was like watching a movie.

I should leave soon.

The familiar melody he sang to echoed in the empty room. Weiss couldn't help but to watch Jeanne's smile as she listened to one of his concert. Personally he hated performing, it was nothing but a way of his father showing him off like a prized dog. For the moment however, he was happy.

Jeanne returned to her practice once more, failing over and over. Weiss couldn't watch anymore, he went over to the training ground.

"What do you think you're doing."

"Wha-AH!"

The sudden distraction cause Jeanned to fall, not on the ground but the embrace of Weiss.

"W-weiss!"

"That's not how you do it."

"Were you watching me?"

"O-of course not! I was just walking by!" Weiss admitted, he spoke a bit too loud on that reply, he quickly cleared hsi throat. "Let me show you how it's done."

Jeanne followed the instructions and eventually got a basic form correct. Weiss and Jeanne sat on the bench for a break before leaving.

"Ouch!"

Weiss caught Jeanne, he ended up giving Jeanne a piggyback ride home. A faint snore of Jeanne tickled his ear and in between her snores he heard his name being spoken. Tonight maybe wasn't a boring one after all.
