Waiting Forever

Prologue
"I'll miss you," Marron whispered as she held Trunks close.
He smiled sadly and rested a hand against her enlarged belly. He leaned down and lightly kissed their unborn child. "Take good care of your mother for me," he whispered and looked up to his wife. "I love you," They kissed passionately and Trunks turned away.
"I'll wait for you," Marron called. "I'll wait forever!"
____________
"Oh, honey," Bulma sobbed as she embraced Marron. Tears flooded down her face and both cried freely.
"Why? Why did he leave me?!" Marron shouted and allowed her mother-in-law to try to soothe the pain. "Why?"
Bulma shook her head as more tears fell from her eyes. She held the letter in one hand, the letter that told them Trunks had been killed. Just then, the baby started crying, and Marron pulled away to see to her son. Bulma met Bra's own tear stained eyes, and her daughter quickly left to see to her nephew.
____________
"Why did you leave me, Trunks?"
Tears fell onto the pillow. It had been three months. Three months since her husband had been killed. She still reached for him at night, she still found herself waiting for his footsteps ascending the stairs. The room seemed so cold without him there. So empty.
"I told you I'd wait for you Trunks." Fresh tears left her eyes. "I'll wait forever, my love."
_____________
Bra slowly rocked her nephew back and forth, secured snuggly in a warm flannel blanket. The air outside was cool and damp, and Bra had already closed the windows, mindful of the baby's fragile health. She hummed a soft tune, and carefully placed the child in his cradle.
She started to turn away when a noise from outside stopped her. The SNAP came again from outside the window. The color drained from her face as she crept forward. The wind beat against the window, and Bra looked down. There was nothing there.
"Bra," she spun around at the sound of her mother's voice.
"There was someone at the window," she blurted out. Bulma came over to where she was standing and put an arm around her shoulders. She didn't need to say anything. There was nothing there.
______________
Marron opened her eyes to the glimmering moonlight. She barely had the energy to move, but somehow pulled herself from the bed. She heard a rustling at her window. Her heart pounded in her chest as the noise grew louder. There was nothing near her second story room that should have been making any noise.
"Trunks?" she whispered. The feeling of joy died down, and was replaced by a hollow ache and fresh tears. Trunks wasn't coming back. The noise ceased, and Marron lied back on her bed.
_____________
Bulma stopped outside the nursery room window. She dropped the bag she was holding and knelt near the window. Imprinted in the mud was a pair of footprints.

Okay, I would like to make something clear. A) I uploaded this already, but for some reason not all of it was posted. B) I am not a part of this pathetic t&m vs. t&p war. I happen to be a t&m fan, and just wanted to post my story. C) I am not a t&p fan. This has nothing to do with me being a t&m fan. I just don't think Trunks and Pan go well together. This is my opinion, I'm not trying to change yours. I just don't think Trunks is good enough for Pan.
