Chapter 10

In the very long time that Ozpin has spent on this world, he's learned many things. One of them being that the key to winning a battle isn't always show of force or superiority in numbers. Rather, the key to winning a fight is in how much knowledged you have on your enemy. Their strengths, their weaknesses, how they fight and what weapons they prefer to use. When you know their strengths, then you are able to plan around them and go for their weakness, thus ensuring victory.

It was that type of thinking that made Ozpin watch the video of Caelum fighting for a third time in a row. A whole day had passed since Caelum fought against team RWBY. So now Oz sat there in his private room, sipping the coffee he loves ever so much. Though he wasn't alone. Qrow and Glynda where here as well, one having a bottle of beer and the other enjoying a cup of tea that was just freshly made.

The three did not say a word to each other, they kept their eyes glued to the screen. Watching the end of the battle, where Caelum battled for a brief standstill until he completely overpowered her. After that Ozpin paused the video though there is still more to it. After the battle with team RWBY, Caelum had then battled team CRDL. But to call it a battle was an overstatement. Caelum completely decimated them in a quarter of the time it took for him to deal with RWBY. Meaning there was absolutely nothing to learn from that fight.

"So…" Began Qrow. "The kid can teleport."

"Yes, though I wouldn't call it teleportation. It seems like he is able to make himself intangible." added on Glynda.

"Not to mention, summon a variety of weapons. Each with their own twist." Finished Ozpin.

A shield, a sword, daggers, a spear that was apparently infused with yellow dust, Not to mention two firearms, each with their own special type of ammo. Yes, seeing Caelum pull these types of weapons from thin air was quite surprising. Ozpin has seen dust infused clothing before but never has he seen this type of level.

"How's he even doing this?" asked Qrow as he replayed the video once more, only this time slowing down on the parts where Caelum would summon a weapon. "It can't be just dust infused clothing. It's not that versatile. You would need something for that, like a…"

"Like a camera?" Said Ozpin, remembering a certain Faunus with a peculiar weapon.

"Yeah, sure." Qrow waved his hands in the air sarcastically. "Point is, how's he bringing out all that crap?"

"Perhaps it's his semblance. Look closely." Glynda replayed a scene in which Noctis warped into the air. "Everytime he warps there leaves a blue trail behind."

"So?" Said Qrow. "Just means the kid's aura gives off a blue color. Which kinda makes you wonder why he wears nothing but black clothing…"

"Focus Qrow." Scolded Glynda. "Look when he switches weapons." She slowed down a clip of Noctis pulling out a sword. "See? A blue light appears around his hand before the weapon is drawn."

"Which means?"

"Which means that might be using his semblance to draw out these weapons. Which might explain why he's able to pull out a variety of them." Explained Ozpin, answering the question for Qrow. "Though if that is the case, then it might mean his semblance isn't intagilbilty but rather an ability to alter his own matter and mass."

"Matter and Mass?" Repeated Qrow who was slowly becoming a bit lost in this conversation.

"Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space, mass is the weight of an object." Explained Glynda. "Though that may be possible. He's able to compress and alter himself into what appears to be blue light and reduce his weight so that he could move at speeds that are on par with your niece's speed. Not to mention he would be able to manipulate the dust on his clothing to form the weapons we saw him use in the fight."

"Is that even possible?" Asked a skeptical Qrow. "Last I checked Dust was extremely volatile. If not handled properly then you got trouble. How is it that this kid is able to manipulate Dust so easily? Not saying it ain't possible but that takes time, and that kid ain't that old. Only twenty if I remember correctly. Not even the Schnee's have been able to pull off this level of skill in dust. Doesn't that seem odd to anyone?"

Qrow's words left a silence with an atmosphere so thick it could be cut with a knife. They all gave a large collected sigh as the stress of this all began to take its toll.

"Can someone please remind me why we can't have Oobleck to look at this?" Grumbled Qrow as he rested his head on the coffee table.

"Because that would require telling him everything, including the maidens. Plus it wouldn't do well for us to inform the staff that we are currently spying on one of our faculty members." Though Glynda had to admit, having Oobleck hear would be a blessing. The man would be able to provide them with much better answers and explanations than what the three of them are providing.

Damn these secrets, they truly are a curse.

"I could just ask him." Glynda reeled just a bit back after the two men shot her looks. "I like to think he has become a bit more comfortable around me. It couldn't hurt to ask." She shrugged her shoulders.

"I...suppose…" It sounded like Ozpin was embarrassed that he hadn't considered such an obvious option. Qrow himself was looking the other way, not wanting to give Glynda the satisfaction of seeing his face.

Glynda could only sigh in resignation. Honestly, men they may be but at times they act no different from children.

"Perhaps it would be well to talk about something else. Ozpin, is the trip for Forever falls still scheduled later this week?" asked Glynda.

"Yes it is. Everything seems fine and in order from our end Glynda." A field trip to a place that spawned Grimm always came with a heap of paperwork. Still Oz always felt that it is a trip necessary for the students. Not to mention all the delicious syrup the school gets to use for free.

"May I have your permission to bring along Noctis?"

The two older men paused at her request.

"Noctis? Didn't know you were on a first name basis with the kid." remarked Qrow.

"As I said, Noctis has become a bit more comfortable around me. The name change happened when he called me Glynda by accident. He apologized for what he thought was informal."

"He apologized?" repeated Qrow.

"You haven't seen him since what happened at Amber's house, Noctis is actually quite professional and polite while working. Ask Ozpin."

Qrow shifted his focus to Ozpin.

"It's true." Clarified the man. "Talking to him reminds me of talking with Winter Schnee or James. Though not as unbearable, he's less of an ass than they are."

Qroq snorted and Glynda rolled her eyes at Ozpin's comment.

Still, Qrow could only thank the Gods for that, Jimmy was okay but the Schnee is another story. he's familiar with the Schnee and if the older sister is anything like Ruby's partner then Qrow might have to start weeping.

"Back to the matter at hand." Said Glynda. "I told him it was nothing to worry about, and simply decide that there is no need for such formality when it's just us. Even I get sick of being called after a while."

"I see, and now you wish to take to the Forever falls trip?" Asked Ozpin. He trusted Glynda but was curious as to why she would bring someone who is still not a trusted member of this school.

"Yes, as I said he has become a bit more comfortable around me. He's more relaxed with me than with the other faculty. The only exception I could think of would be Amber and your niece."

"Ruby?"

"Yes, after the fight was over your niece was there asking questions about his weapons or his skills. Surprisingly Noctis doesn't seem to mind, indulging her questions no matter what."

"I love my niece, but even I have my limits with her." remarked Qrow. "Does he have a pained expression on his face?"

Glynda shook her head. "If anything he has this look reminiscent. He gives Ruby a smile whenever they talk but when she leaves he has this weird expression. I can't help but feel that the young girl reminds Noctis of someone."

"I thought didn't have any siblings?" Ozpin was sure Glynda told him and Qrow that before.

"Maybe an old friend, girlfriend, or cousin…" Qrow looked like he was pondering himself over this new info.

"Ozpin, Qrow." The two men broke out of their thoughts. "At this moment I believe Noctis could be trusted for this event. I don't know for sure he if could be trusted with the info on Salem and her forces, nor with Amber and the secret of the maiden but I believe that he bears no ill towards the children."

Glynda had to look of resolve on her face, the woman was fully confident in her words.

"I believe Noctis has no intention of putting them in harm's way."

The look she gave them was all Ozpin needed to approve Noctis being sent along to the field trip.

"Huh."

But before Ozpin could voice his decision, Qrow interrupted him. The older drunk looked to be deep in thought.

"Something wrong Qrow?" Asked Ozpin, who was curious as to why his old friend was deep in thought.

"I have an idea, one that might help us get to know the kid just a little bit more. Heh." Qrow chuckled, which only furthered confused his two friends even more. " Honestly, I can't believe none of us thought of it sooner."

"What are you talking about Qrow?" Asked Glynda, who was getting a bit frustrated with her co-workers attitude.

"It's simple, we invite the kid over for drinks!" He exclaimed while rising up from his chair and raising his own drink high.

It took Oz and Glynda a full two minutes to process what Qrow just said and, surprising no one, Glynda shot it down.

"Absolutely ridiculous." The stern woman said as she shook her head. "We will not use company time to get you drunk. Find a better solution."

"Wait, before you shoot me down, hear me out." Qrow said, the smug grin still present on his face. "Nothing says getting to know your co-workers like sharing a couple of drinks together."

Glynda shook her head, already dismissing the idea. Ozpin, however, wanted to see where this was going.

"We bring the kid for a friendly evening and give him a couple of drinks. Maybe the kids a lightweight, maybe not. We don't need to get him drunk, just buzzed enough that he becomes loose lips!"

Qrow finished the last of drunk before sitting back down, proud of his idea.

"Trust me Glynda, when Tai-Yang first became drunk he wouldn't shut up about Raven and his love for her." Qrow spat that last sentence out, not too happy about remembering about his sister. "Point is, if the kid is a light weight we can get him to drop his guard and get some answers."

"This all seems horrible Qrow, not to mention wrong."

Both Qrow and Ozpin looked surprised at the last part that Glynda said. The older woman was aware of why their were reacting like that, given how she was on board with their plans in the past.

"As I said, I've gotten to know Noctis a bit more working with him. While I haven't learned much, I don't think he plans any harm. I don't think he deserves this. It feels wrong."

Qrow understood but said nothing, instead he turned his attention to Oz. Wondering what the man had to say about this.

"...I wish I could share your trust Glynda." The headmaster showed a pained smile. Remembering all his mistakes in his past lives. "But, while I trust your opinion, this is something we must be sure for ourselves. As odd as Qrows plan is, it does have merit. At times when a man feels most at home is when they let down their guard."

Glynda did not get upset over Oz's answer. She knew the man long enough and understood why he must do this. Still, the feeling left in her stomach was not a good one.

"Glynda." The older woman turned to face Qrow, who had a somber look on his face. "I'm not proud of this either, but with what's at stake. We need to be sure."

"I understand." And she did, she truly did.

"I'll tell Amber." Qrow said as he got up from his chair. "The kid will feel more comfortable if she's there, given they're friends, I think." Qrow left, leaving no more room for discussion.

"Forever Falls?" Noctis repeated to himself as he ate his meal. His shift for today had ended and the young man had decided to retire to his room early and just spend the rest of his day their. He was in the middle of eating his meal, nothing fancy, just a simple microwavable meal. Noctis still hasn't learned how to cook, aside from sushi, and isn't in a hurry to learn.

"Will be going on a trip with the first year students to collect tree saps.I am simply giving you a notice, the event isn't until next week. Please note that there will be Grimm in the area so please dress appropriately." Noctis was re-reading the message that Glynda had sent him to his scroll. He was having a hard time understanding the reason for taking these students to this place. Taking students to a place that has Grimm? Now that is just asking for trouble, no surprise for Noctis thought. From saving a student from a rampaging Grimm too fighting a team of children this place was just getting weirder.

*Knock Knock*

And speaking of weird…

Noctis walked to his door to see who was coming to his room at this hour. It wasn't late as the sun has yet to set, but Noctis never gets visitors, at all.

He opened the door and was surprised to see someone he hadn't seen in quite some time.

"Qrow?" The veteran Huntsman that helped save his life and help him find this job. He was standing outside with a grin and his arms open.

"Hey kid, glad to see you still remember me." said the older man.

"I'm not glad to see that your still calling me kid." Noctis said with disdain at his title. "What brings you here?"

"Hey, can't a guy say hello to his fellow co-worker and congratulate him on his new job?" Qrow said as he extended his hand out to Noctis.

The young man simply look at Qrow's hand then back to Qrow with a skeptical look. Noctis didn't doubt that man words, it sounded honest. But he also wasn't some naive fool, the older man was here for a reason.

"Um, Thanks." Noctis shook Qrow's hand. "Is there, um, something you need?"

Qrow dropped the charade grin. "Was it that obvious?"

Actually no, it wasn't but Noctis wasn't gonna let him know that. "Uh, Yeah it totally was. So what do you need?" He crossed his arms in an attempt to look cooler and more mature. Because that is what Noctis is, super cool and mature.

"Wanted to know if you wanted to go out for a drink?" Qrow said with a relaxed grin. "I wasn't lying about congratulating you on your job. Just haven't really gotten a chance too since I've been busy. What do you say?"

Drinks? Alcoholic Drinks? Noctis wasn't really one for those types of things. He preferred the sugary and unhealthy kind that taste sweet. "Um, I'm not really sure-"

"Ah c'mon kid." Qrow said as he began to beg. "Don't make me beg. My drinking buddy is all the way back in Signal. Look, it's not just gonna be me and you. Ozpin, your boss, is going to be here. So is Glynda and Amber. So what do you say?" Qrow said while giving him a nudge with his elbow.

"I…" honestly Noct did not want to go, he'd much rather just stay in his room and sleep or play some games.

But…

If there was one concern that his father, Luna, and his friends shared it was that Noctis didn't socialize much. Everyone always felt like he needed more friends. He's getting along well with Glynda and Amber, so there's that. Noctis just wasn't a social person, granted that has changed a bit since his adventure but old habits die hard.

"Yeah, I'll go." His dad would shake his head if he passed up a moment to socialize just to stay in his room. So would everyone else, better to just bite the bullet and get along with everyone.

"Great!" Exclaimed Qrow and he gave a brotherly pat on Noct's shoulder. "Meet us In two days at my room. We'll see you there."

The older man had walked off before Noctis could ask any questions.

"Oh boy." The young man shook his head in resignation.

X

"It's wrong."

She ducked under a kick that was aimed at her head.

"It's necessary."

He blocked her staff and closed the distance between them.

"He doesn't deserve this."

She spun her body for added moment to try and land a hit.

"Maybe, But we can't let that stop us."

He simply watched as his opponent tripped and fell to the floor. His semblance kickin in at the most inconvenient of times.

Amber picked herself off the floor, sweat covering her entire body.

"You know how I feel about this Qrow. Why did you tell me this? I don't think Noctis deserves this type of suspicion."

The older huntsman could only nod his head in agreement.

"Glynda herself is starting to come into your side." He sheathed and began to head towards the exit door with Amber right besides him. "But we need to be sure, too many things are at risk Amber. Besides, we're not going to drug him or anything. Just have a couple of drinks."

"So that he can become can spill his secrets?" She said accusingling.

"Yup." Qrow said without any shame. "I'm asking you to come because The kid is starting to warm up to you. Plus, might feel more comfortable if your there."

Amber didn't understand why she felt happy at the thought of Noctis enjoying her company.

"I'll go." She said with a straight face. "If only to keep an eye on him. Drinking with you doesn't always lead to a good ending." She cracked a smile at him.

"Hey, we only got into one bar fight and that's it. I've been in plenty more with Tai-Yang."

He chuckled off her harmless accusation, Qrow knew what he was and probably wouldn't have it any other way.

"Thanks Amber, I mean it." He said with sincerity.

"Your welcome, and you'll see Qrow. He's a good guy, you just have to get to know him."

Several days later, Noctis stood in front of the door to Qrow's room. To be honest, he's really regretting this decision. Nothing to be done about it now, he gave his word so now he has to make good on it. That's what a good King would do. He gave a few simple knocks and the door soon opened where Noctis was greeted by Amber.

"Noctis!" The young woman greeted with joy. She was dressed in her work uniform, which is good because so was Noctis as he didn't feel like changing. "I'm glad to see you showed up."

"Yeah, well I'm glad too." He wasn't but Noct was gonna keep that to himself. "Is everyone here?"

"Yeah, come inside. We're all waiting."

Noct is followed the young woman inside the room. Qrow's room wasn't any different from his, he found his group of co workers in the living room, seated at a round table. Cards and drinks were scattered al around.

"Hey, he showed!" Exclaimed Qrow. "And here I thought you were going to bail on us."

"For what it's worth, I did think about it." Noctis remark cracked a smile from the older man. "Hey Ozpin, Hey Glynda." Noctis greeted his two co workers who returned with a simple greeting of their own.

"Take a seat Noct." Amber gestured to a seat right next to her. Seeing no other options available the young man sat down.

"Glad to see you were able to join us Noctis." And Noctis was glad to see his boss refer to him on his first name. Last name just sounds to professional for him.

"A small company outing is always nice, though I do wish we had a different choice of beverage." Remarked Glynda as she gave a distasteful look at the various alcoholic drinks around the table.

"Like tea?" Qrow said mockingly which cause the older woman to glare at him.

"Honestly I would prefer a nice cup of coffee." Said Ozpin.

"Soda would be fine with me." Said Amber.

"Noctis? What would you have preferred?" Noctis blanked for a moment when Ozpin asked his question and all eyes turned to him.

"I, uh, like Coffee."

"Is that so?" Asked Ozpin with interest.

"Yeah, I drink it whenever I can." Noctis in fact hates coffee, he does not like the taste. However, the young man was convinced that drinking it gave your a much older appearance. After all, his dad and Ignis drank it non stop and those were the definition of maturity.

"Well, that's sad to here. I was hoping to have a fellow tea drinker." Glynda said with disappointment.

"Eh, Coffee is no good. Trust me kid, after tonight you'll be a hardened drinker like me."

Hearing that from Qrow made Noctis shudder. He wanted to change the subject before it was too late.

"So what are we playing?" Noctis looked at the cards scattered around the table. It looked like everyone had already played a few games before he arrived. The cards here look very similar to the ones from Eos. Glad to see that card games are still the same no matter what world your in.

"It's a simple card game, though with an added twist." The older man said with a snicker. "Whenever you're out then you gotta take a drink."

Noctis gave Qrow a skeptical look before shifting his view to Ozpin and Glynda.

"It was either that or money." Said Ozpin. "And Glynda was about to about to allow gambling to be held on school property."

The stern gaze that Glynda had in her face was all Noctis needed to see.

"All right, let's get to it then."

No chance of backing out now, that's fine. How many card games has he played with his friends? Noctis was sure to be a pro at whatever type of game this. This was going to be a piece of cake.

"Are you kidding me?"

The former king cried out in despair as he lost his fourth game in a row.

"You were pretty close this time, Noctis." Amber said with sympathy as she patted Noctis in the back. Her words of comfort did nothing to sooth the pain of losing.

"You are simply too easy to read Noctis." Said Glynda, who hiding her winning smile.

"It is very easy to figure out when he has a winning hand is it not?" Ozpin's comment did not help at all.

"C'mon kid. Bottoms up." Cheered Qrow as he poured his third shot.

"Fine….hand it over." Noctis lifted the foul tasting liquid and drank it while. He was beginning to feel funny, having never tasted alcohol before the young man always wondered how his body would hold against it. Not well, his cheeks felt warm and he could feel his eyes getting heavier. Not mention everything feeling so sluggish.

"Calling it quits kid?"

Noctis could only glare at Qrow and his smug smile. The older man had made comments, saying that if it was ever too much then he could switch to a juice box or something. Noctis did not take that comment lightly, which was why he kept going. Now with the alcohol taken effect it became easier to goad him into something.

"One more round…" He slurred, waiting for a new hand of cards to be passed to him.

"Sure, sure. Give me just a minute."

More games were played, more drinks were being served. Noctis began taking more than his body could take in. The kings sharp mind began to think slower, because of that a few things started to occur.

Had Noctis been thinking clearly, had he not been affected by the alcohol then he would have noticed the change in the atmosphere. How amber looked away in discomfort. How Qrow's smile dimmed down and his posture became a bit more straight. How Glynda refused to make eye contact with Noctis despite being next to him.

How Ozpin began dealing the cards, when Qrow's been handling them all night.

All of these flew past the young man's head. His mind not thinking as sharp at it would be.

"So Noctis, how are you coming along in Beacon academy?" Asked Ozpin as he handed a new set of cards.

"It's okay, I guess?" Noctis sounded unsure. His lips sounding very loose.

"You don't like it here?"

"I do...some of the staff is weird though." He said that as he looked at his hand, wondering if this was a good hand to play against. "Like Peter, I had to help him capture some Grimm. Wait...don't tell anyone that. Glynda will get mad if you do."

Everyone except Noctis shifted their view to the older woman. She already knew and was already planning how to punish Peter for his carelessness.

"Peter is definitely an odd sort, but a good man at heart." Ozpin and everyone else were simply passing cards. Noctis was not aware that no one was playing the game anymore. "Did you have anyone like that back your home Noctis?

"I, uh, um...I don't think so…" Noct began passing cards around, trying to play a game that no one else was.

"What is your home like Noctis?" Asked Glynda.

"It was alright…" he shrugged sluggishly. "People kept on telling me how awesome it was but when you *hic* grow up there then it gets pretty boring…"

"Anything worth mentioning about your home, there must be something…" Ozpin lead on.

"Mmmmm nope…" Noctis said before looking at his hand and making an expression of loss. "We had some cool arcades though, my dad always got mad at me for going there too often. He would always...he would…"

His tone began to die down, he stopped playing with his cards and just stared at the wooden table with a somber look.

"Sounds like your old man didn't want you spending to much times on games." Commented Qrow, to the disapproval of others.

"No...No he didn't...I remember getting frustrated with him because of that. Saying things that...I shouldn't have said…"

No one said anything, they stayed quiet. Wondering where this was leading.

"I...never got a chance to thank him. I never got a chance to say goodbye. I couldn't save him...save anyone…"

"Save?" Said Ozpin. "You blame yourself for what happened to your father?"

"It was my fault." Noctis was ignoring them at this point, his somber face looking to the table. "I wasn't strong enough. I...I couldn't save him, couldn't save my home, couldn't save Luna."

"Luna?" It was Amber who spoke up, gently placing her hand on Noctis's hand. "Who's Luna?"

Noctis didn't look back at Amber, he turned to the window and saw the shattered moon.

"I wanted to save her, that's all I wanted but I couldn't...I wasn't strong enough. I'm sorry Luna..."

His expression, the pain in his voice. That was enough, Amber had heard enough.

"Noctis, C'mon. We're leaving." She got up from her chair, gently picking up Noctis with the intent of taking him back to his room.

"Wha-What?" The Poot dunk looked confused. "But what about the game and-"

"Forget that stupid game. C'mon." He couldn't tell for being under, but the fall maiden is upset. She's up yay her friends for putting this man through all this. She's upset that she played along.

But most importantly, she's upset that Noctis was feeling this pain and there wasn't anything she could do to help him.

It didn't take long to bring him back to his room. Her friends didn't say anything as she left, they understood. Even if they didn't, She'll make sure they do the next time Amber is with those three.

"C'mon Noctis, let's get you to bed."

"Bed...sleep sounds nice…" he said with a silly tone. She wondered if this was his first time being drunk, seems like it. She carefully got his keys from his pocket and opened the door for him. It didn't take long before Noctis stumbled to his bed, he fell right on it. He didn't even change out of his clothes...well, it's weekend tomorrow so that shouldn't be to much of a problem.

"..." It just occurred to Amber that this was the first time in Noctis's room. She couldn't fight her wandering eyes, his room wasn't much to look at. There was a game console next to his tv, no surprise there. The young man made it no secret how he enjoyed playing video games. Besides that there was nothing else worth mentioning, except for the photo on his night stand.

"..."

It was a bad idea but Amber couldn't help but approach the her sleeping savior. He looked calm, peaceful, she ran her fingers through his hair and enjoyed the feeling that came from it.

Luna.

Amber couldn't help but wonder who that woman was to Noctis.

Not wanting to push her luck, the older woman stepped away from the man. Making sure to leave his keys next to him, she closed the door carefully as she made her way out.

She was surprised to see Ozpin waiting for her outside Noctis's room.

"May we talk Amber?"

The fall maiden nodded, following the headmaster outside the building. It was a cool night, very peaceful.

"Glynda and Qrow are hoping to speak to you." Said Ozpin. Amber said nothing, she simply hummed in response. She knew this was childish but...she couldn't ignore the frustration that was building up inside her.

"They're worried about you."

She continued to stay silent.

"Worried about what you might be thinking."

Finally, Amber stopped walking. She looked to Ozpin, her face had the look of a conflicted woman.

"Ozpin, how long will this continue?"

The headmaster's expression, it did not reassure the woman.

"I don't know Amber. Until we can be sure that Noctis isn't a threat."

"Glynda vouched for him, isn't that enough?" She asked with desperation.

"It…" the man himself seemed to struggling with his own inner turmoil. "It's a start, but...in this situation. The players we're dealing with, I need to be sure Amber. For everyone's sake."

She could not meet the headmasters eyes, a part of her hated this. She hated what Noctis is being subjected too, and another part of her understood why Ozpin must go to this length.

She understood, but th at didn't mean she wasn't to going to sit back and let this continue.

"...I'm going try and get to know him better." Amber declared, her face filled with resolution. "I haven't been trying to get to know him. That isn't fair, not to Noctis."

She faced the headmaster, determined to show him how serious she is.

"I'm going to get know him better, to become his friend. Someone he can trust, that way we'll know. Know that isn't a threat. To me or to anyone in this school!"

She yelled out that last part at the top of her lungs. Her posture straight and proud.

"Amber...while I admired your dedication please remember that there are students and faculty currently sleeping."

"...oh" The Poor lady turned a shade of red that would make strawberries envious. "S-Sorry"

"But...I don't think that is a bad idea." The headmaster said as he began making his way back into his office. "I think that having you around Noctis might be beneficial for the young man."

His response left the woman confused, didn't Ozpin and the others to keep her distance with Noctis?

"Ozpin?" She asked.

"Something to think about Ms. Amber, would you say?" He gave that coy smile that he always does when Ozpin has something planned. He said nothing else before bidding Amber goodnight, leaving the Maiden alone with her confused thoughts.

Glynda GoodWitch must say that she certainly wasn't expecting something like this to happen.

After what had happened with Noctis, Glynda had wanted to go after both him and Amber. Qrow had planned the same thing but the two ended up being stopped by Ozpin, who opted to go by himself. Putting her trust in her old friend the huntress has decided to retire to her room.

As she was passing by she ended up meeting face to face with a familiar face.

"Professor Goodwitch, so you have a moment?" That polite voice came from none other than Pyrrah Nikos, a prodigy in the making. Her bright red hair made her easy to stand out even in the largest of crowds. At first Glynda was concerned, Ms. Nikos was one of her best students. Both polite and strong grades, so when she saw Pyrah approaching her so late at night the older woman was concerned.

That concern flew right out the window after bringing Ms. Nikos to her office and hearing out what the young huntsmen in trading wanted.

"Ms. Nikos...are you being serious right now?" Glynda asked with pure bluntness as she could not believe the request she was hearing.

"I'm sorry, I know it sounds ridiculous but I figured it wouldn't hurt to try...I'm very sorry"

That must have been her sixth time apologizing.

"You want to...ugh." There could not have been a worse time to do this, Glynda was still dealing with the guilt of what had happened just half an hour ago and now this. "May I ask why Ms. Nikos?"

"I...want a challenge. I wanted to see how I would stack up against him. I understand this sounds odd but it's been so long since I've had a good fight so I wanted to request that-"

"That you spar against Professor Caelum."

The way Glynda said it made Pyrah look away in embarrassment.

It made sense, in a way. Pyrah is described as prodigy without equal. Her skills made her famous back in her home, honestly Glynda wondered why she would travel all the way over here. Beacon was a prestigious school but it doesn't justify why Ms. Nikos would travel so far over here.

But, that is none of Glynda's business.

Back to the main point, it appears that despite her kind demeanor the young woman has a fiery spirit beneath her. She explained to Glynda that she wished to fight against Noctis, as she felt they were similar in a way.

When Glynda asked to elaborate she Cousy it help but give Pyrrah a skeptical look when the poor girl was fumbling for words. Turns out, Ms. Nikos had a competitive sport behind that soft demeanor. All that fighting against the very best made her enjoy a good fight. Apparently, seeing Noctis fight the way he did against team RWBY made Ms. Nikos wonder how she would fair against him.

To be fair, Glynda could see the similarities. They were both young warriors who are very skilled for their age. The older teacher was not a fool, she was very aware of the rumors that were circulating Noctis. How he was a prodigy much like Nikos, his young age and victory over Taurus must have led this.

Which in turn lead to Ms. Nikos asking for this ridiculous request.

Gods, Glynda needed a drink.

Of course she could not say that out loud, gods forbid that Qrow hear her say that.

"You wish to Spar against professor Caleum out of pure competitiveness simply because of his spar with team RWBY, is that right?"

The young warrior nodded her head meekly, realizing how silly it sounded when said aloud.

"Very well, I'll have it prepared in two days."

"I'm sorry Professor I figured I-what?"

It was obvious to Ms. Nikos that she wasn't expecting that response.

"Your request, I'll have it arranged. You are an excellent fighter Ms. Nikos, to the point where am I having trouble pairing you against teams. Perhaps Professor Caleum would provide a better opponent."

What Glynda said was true, however that is not why she was granting this request. More information was needed for Noctis, simply out of precaution. Ozpin and Qrow would say that at least, Glynda...she's having second thoughts on how Noctis is being viewed.

Either way, this would be a perfect opportunity to find out more about him. Pyrrah coming to her was an opportunity Glynda could not afford to let slip.

"T-Thank you!" She rose from her seat, a bright smile and her arms high in the air. Glynda simply gave the red head a skeptical look, as if asking if Pyrah if she knew how silly she looked. The poor girl got the message and quickly fixed her posture. "Thank you Professor."

"It shall be on Monday, now it's getting late. I recommend heading to your dorm now."

The redhead nodded and went straight to her dorm, leaving the older blond alone with her thoughts. She slouched to her chair, the toll of today taking a toll on the older woman. She would have to contact Noctis later on about this.

"I need some tea…"

If there was a solace to all this, is that the weekend is coming up….

X

"Pyrrha Nikos?"

The man asking was Noctis, or a version of him anyway. It was 12 in the afternoon and the poor man was still recovering from the hangover that was plaguing him. The man had just woken up not too long ago, not of his own choice but of Glynda. The older woman had come to his room and knocked on his door which in turn woke him up to a splitting headache.

The older woman had wanted to invite him for breakfast in the city.

Noctis wanted to turn her down but his co-worker was very stubborn and wasn't taking no for an answer.

So, after a shower and an air ride later the pair where now located in a simple restaurant dressed in casual clothes.

"That's right." Glynda said as she took a sip from her drink. "She's on our students, the redhead young woman. I'm sure you've seen her before in one of your classes."

"Probably…" Noctis said halfheartedly, his mind not in the mood to remember anything past 1 hour. "So she wants to fight me because she has no equal?"

"That...is one way to put it." Glynda said as she gave Noctis a sharp look which resulted in the young man shrugging. "Ms. Nikos is a prodigy, despite her demeanor there is a competitive spirit. I'm surprised you haven't heard of her."

"Never was much for sport fighting, more into video games." That and the fact that he's not from here, buts that's his little secret. "Is she really that good?" He asked, not out of worry, but pure curiosity.

"She is." Glynda said as they made room for the meals that were now arriving. She had ordered a healthy meal with fruit and yogurt, Noctis on the other hand had gotten a plate devoid of anything healthy. She scolded him but Noctis ignored it, used to by now thanks to Ignis. "I've seen quite a bit of skilled youths in my time as a teacher, she's one of them. No one in combat class has been able to best her."

She paused to take a bit of her meal.

"Perhaps that is why she sought you out. One of your students is seeking a challenge."

"She sounds kind of cocky." Remarked Noctis.

"Blame my way of putting this, she's actually quite humble."

"Hmm, is that why you called me out for breakfast? Just to tell me this?" Asked a curious Noctis.

"That and I wanted to have breakfast with a friend, consider it an apology for getting you so drunk."

As Glynda said that Noctis couldn't help but notice how sad she sounded.

"Don't worry about." He dismissed casually. "As long as I didn't say anything stupid." The young man said with a chuckle.

That chuckle died when he looked to Glynda and saw that the woman looked he conflicted with something. It...it looked like she wanted to say something but couldn't find the words.

"Glynda, is everything okay?" Noctis asked out of worry.

"..." Goodwitch meet his eyes, filed with uncertainty. It worried Noctis, made him begin to wonder what exactly happened the night before. Did he say something about his past? Did he mention about his aura?

He was about to ask again a second time, if Glynda was okay, before the woman resolved herself and gave him a cold look.

"Yes, you mentioned how you assisted Professor Port in getting the Grimm for class. I specifically remember you feeling me that you did not know who was involved."

"...oh…" Noctis released a breath he did not know he was holding. "...OH." That breath got sucked back in when he realized just how much trouble he was in. "I mean, Port said it was fine and that Ozpin was okay with it and-

"Believe me, I will have words with Ozpin and Mr. Port but for now let us enjoy our meal before someone says something else that they may regret."

"Yup, sounds good." Noctis said rapidly before shutting up and continuing his meal. Beads of sweat going down his face, this woman was scary that's for sure. Noctis was so preoccupied in calming down his nerves that he never noticed the look of guilt that was written all over Glyndas face.

Time had passed, the day for the fight had arrived. Wasn't a very long wait, simply three days, but for Pyrrha if felt like a century. She could not contain her excitement, to the point that her teammates had taken notice of it. She and her team where on their way to combat class right this moment.

"Wow Pyrrha, you sure seem excited today." Asked her leader and crush, Jaune Arc. "Something supposed to happen?"

"You could say that." She asked, the fire in her eyes burning clearly. This wasn't a feeling of happiness or joy, this was the feeling of excitement. One only a professional would get when they haven't faced a challenge in so long.

"Whatever it is, it must be special." Remarked Nora, fellow teammate of JNPR and partner of Lie Ren. "*Gasp* Ren! Did you promise to make her some of your special pancakes?!" The orange haired girl asked, in pure shock and disbelief.

"No, Nora. I don't think Pyrrha has a sweet tooth like you." Explained Ren.

"Well duh, that's cause she's never had one of your glorious pancakes!" She exclaimed at the top of her lungs.

"What are you on about?"

That random voice came from Weiss Schnee. The white haired student and her teammates had begun making their way to combat class as well. The rest of RWBY had also looked intreguied as well, wondering what the commotion was all about.

"Pyrrha is looking forward to something, but she won't tell us why." Explained Jaune.

"Whoa, they're right." Remarked Yang. "Hey Pyrrha, you in there?"

The red headed champion didn't say anything as they took their seats. The confident smirk was so unlike her, she was usually so docile and polite. To see her like this, all fired up, made her teammates and friends wonder what was going to happen.

"Good morning students." The voice of Professor Goodwitch shushed all talk about Pyrrha. The whole class fell silent, wondering who would spar against who today. Professor Caelum was their as well, the young man standing with his hands on a monitor behind Goodwitch.

"Today, we shall be having another event similar to Team RWBY's bout." Everyone's ears perked up at, and the students eyes began to shift towards the assistant behind Goodwitch. "Professor Caelum will be sparing against Ms. Nikos and-"

Hushed talking began to occur as the entire class began to gossip amongst each other about this. This lasted about 2 seconds before Goodwitch lost her patience.

"CLASS." She said firmly, silencing the students. "This is not some spectacle to enjoy. Please pay close attention to how these two fight. This is not a show, but a learning experience." Her words silenced the class but it did not stop how eager all the sunsets where at this. The champion of Mistral against the young prodigy, at least that is what they're calling Noctis.

Goodwitch nodded to Noctis, who took it as his que to get ready for his match.

"Ms. Nikos, you may head over to prepare."

"Yes Professor." Pyrrha said, with a subtle tone of excitement that wasn't missed by her teammates and friends.

"Wow, looks like Pyrrha is all fired up." Commented Yang.

"She's been like this all morning." Said Jaune. "Did she know about this?"

"I'm sure played a role somehow." All eyes turned to Ren. "When she got back to the dorm late last night she had looked excited. She must have requested this to someone."

"Requesting to fight Noc-" all eyes turned to Blake, who realized she was referring to the Professor causally. "Professor Caleum, requesting to fight him. Why would she do that?"

"Maybe…" Began Nora. "It's for the thrill of the fight!"

Team JNPR and RWBY looked at her with skepticism.

"C'mon think about it! She crushes everyone she fights, even teams. Now here comes a teacher ready to spar against us, it's the perfect opportunity for Pyrrha to put her skills to the test!"

"That's...possible." Said Weiss, who could Believe she was contemplating Nora's theory . "Though talking about this won't solve anything. We should just ask her after this over."

"I wonder who's going to win?" Asked Yang.

"Oh that's easy, Professor Caleum." Said Ruby as if it was a matter of fact. The young girl received a number of stares from her deceleration.

"Playing favorites Rubes?" Asked her older sister.

"I-I'm not!" She said but the red blush betrayed her words. "You've seen Professor Caleum, he's got all these weapons and is so cool!"

"Look." Said Blake. "They're both ready, let's just stay quiet and see what happens."

Both teams followed suit, ready to see who would come out on top. Blake kept her eyes on Noctis. The man was dressed in his combat outfit, his eyes calm and somewhat bored.

She didn't want to say it out loud, but Blake believed Noctis was going this fight as well.

What a strange outfit to fight in.

Noctis could not help but think that as he looked at the younchampion. She was dressed in what looked to be gold, red and bronze armor. Though armor is being generous, it only covered a part of abdomen and her legs and arms. Her head, neck, chest and thighs were fully exposed.

Guess when you got aura, armors basically pointless.

The young King looked at her weapons. A small, round shield in one hand and a red sword in the other. Though given what he's seen, that weapon pelt has a few tricks up its sleeve. If Noctis was being honest, what stood out the most was that excited smile. Glynda wasn't lying, this girl was looking forward to this fight.

"Thank you for this spar Professor Caleum. I hope to learn a lot from you." Pyrrha said while given a small bow of respect.

"Uh, same here." He wasn't sure how to respond to that so he just said the first thing that came out of his mouth. "Hope to learn a lot about Mistral…"

He shot a look to his coworker to see if he said the right thing. Given Glynda's disappointing look, he probably should have said something better.

"Begin."

He called forth the Engine blade and threw his sword right at Pyrrha. The young girl was ready for this, she dodged the sword and instantly spun around ready to strike at Noctis once he warped. He did not warp, the blade ended crashing to the floor. Pyrrha needed your swiping at air, confusion on her face as she was sure he was going to warp.

"Not bad, you were ready." The blade reappeared in Noctis hands. He just did that to see what would happen, turns out this girl is pretty good. Guess it wasn't all hot air that surrounded this girl. Pyrrha attempted to charge right at him, only for him to throw his blade at her again.

She slid under it and used her momentum to leap at him with a charge of her blade. She ended up hitting blue light, she turned around to see Noctis had warped to the other side of the arena. Having a casual look on his face that was bothering the red head.

She attempted this multiple times and every time Noctis would evade her by warping. Causing Pyrrha's frustration to grow ever so slightly.

"Professor Caleum…" She said, her voice noticeably strained. "I can't learn anything if you keep running."

"Sure you can." Replied Noctis in a smart tone. "You can learn how to be faster." The annoying grin on his face was enough for the champion to switch plans. Her sword transformed into a long rifle, the barrel pointed straight at Noctis. She fired several shots but Noctis summoned a shield and blocked each and every shot.

"Gonna have to try harder than that!" He yelled out.

Pyrrha came at him once more, only this time her weapon shifted into a spear. Figuring that he spent enough time running, the young king summoned his own lance and swiped at the girl's legs.

He missed his swipe and almost got stabbed in the face.

What?

What saved him was his quick reaction time. Upon realizing that he missed her attack he instantly phased right through her attack. She went right through him, Pyrrha's back was facing towards him. Not missing this opportunity, he got two daggers to swipe at her.

Once again he missed her by just an inch. Pyrrha was able to move out of the way and just avoid his attack.

She made to counter with a quick kick, Noctis caught her leg and pulled her towards him causing her to lose balance. He brought out his sword and tried to swipe her while she was on the ground.

Once again, he missed.

Noctis had her pinned to the ground but Pyrrha retaliated by trying to bash him with her shield. Not wanting to get hit Noctis rolled away from her, losing the higher ground in exchange for not getting hit in the face.

Something's wrong.

Noctis had more than enough training from his dad, Gladios and Cor. He shouldn't be missing these attacks, those were rookie mistakes and Noctis was no rookie. She's doing something to his weapons but what? Can she move things with her mind? Is that her semblance? But then why just move his weapons, why not use her semblance to knock him off balance?

"Somebody's got tricks up their sleeves." With his left hand He called a simple broadsword and in his right the Engine blade. Putting a little bit of magic into his body Noctis rushes at Pyrrha. His sudden burst of speed caught the champion off guard. She barely had enough time to raise her shield to block the first strike.

"Hng!" She cried out as Noctis was beginning to over power her in pure strength. She made to back up only to realize her mistake. Pyrrha remember his match with RWBY and knew just aggressive Noct was. By backing up and losing ground the young man pressed forward. He began a barraged kid blows from his two swords. Twisting and turning his body like a spinning top, never losing moment or power with his strikes.

She tried to keep her shield up for as long as possible until her arm finally gave out. Thinking quickly she threw her shield right at his eyes, creating a blind spot for just a moment. The champion took advantage of that and charged right at him. Noctis has no trouble dodging the shield, and wasn't surprised to see his opponent switching to attack. With her weapon now a sword Pyrrha her own flurry of blows at Noctis.

But her attacks weren't having much effect.

Despite all strikes, Pyrrha was able to push back Noctis at all. The man remained seated in his spot, never once losing ground. She began to push her body even more, sweat and stamina pouring out of her like crazy. It didn't matter, no matter how many strikes she gave, Pyrrha wasn't able to land a clean blow on him. He blocked and parried each one with his two swords.

Noctis still doesn't know what caused his attacks to miss, maybe he was still feeling the hangover?

Well, it didn't matter. He's ending this.

When she threw on more swipe at his head he phased back and created some distance. Then, Noctis threw on sword to Pyrrha's left and the other to her right.

She stood ready, anticipating from which sword he would warp from. Would be from her left or from her right? Without her shield she needed to get ready for a counter and then-

"Heads up." Her opponent yelled out.

Unfortunately, the red head was so occupied with over thinking that she did not realize her opponent never warped at all. Noctis came right at her, using the swords as distractions. She looked to see a giant greatsword coming right at her.

It was then she was left with a choice.

Take the fall or reveal her semblance in front of everyone…

Screw it, she's having too much fun with this fight.

Using her semblance in full view, Pyrrha shifted the sword enough that she was able to move under the swing. Pressing forward her weapon shifted back into a rifle. She got right in between Noctis's legs and had her gun pointed at his face. She was welcomed with a revolver pointed at her face, looked like her professor figured her trick out

She finger came to the trigger, ready to pull and-

"That's enough." Goodwitch's words stopped both parties from moving.

What? No, the fight isn't over yet! Pyrrha can still fight, she hadn't loss just yet!

"Excellent match Ms. Nikos." The Professor said. "Noctis, would please help her up?"

"Sure thing." Putting away his greatsword and gun the young man helped Nikos up.

"T-Thanks." She said between breaths. "So who won?" She couldn't help but ask since the match was called off before anyone could land the finishing blow. Her question was directed at Noctis, who simply shrugged, seems he didn't know either.

"It shall be counted as a draw, the whole point of this exercise was for the students. I see no point in calling winner, is that fine Professor Caleum?" Asked Goodwitch.

"Yeah, I don't mind. Well leave it at a draw."

A draw?!

As Pyrrha stood next to Noctis it was clear that this was anything but a draw. She stood there covered sweat and fatigue, her shield arm numb and sore from all the hits she had to endure. The young champion couldn't remember the last time she was pushed this far. Meanwhile her professor was standing there completely fine, he didn't look tired at all. He looked fine!

"Wonderful, any advice you would like to pass to the class Professor Caleum?"

All eyes turned on the young Professor.

Before he would have gotten nervous but in the time he's been here Noctis has gotten the hang of this whole teaching thing down.

"Keep your emotions in control." He instructed. "Don't let your enemy try to anger you. You get mad, then your going to start getting sloppy." Yup, that's what Gladious would always tell him. Just say what that he would say, works every time.

The redhead began to blush a bit, she definitely did let Noctis's game of keep away got to her.

"Professor Caleum is right." Glynda added on. "Remember that when fighting criminals they will use everything and anything to beat you. That includes emotions."

Once Goodwitch finished speaking Pyrrha raised her hand.

"Yes Ms. Nikos"

"I have a question for Professor Caelum." She turned to face her teacher. "How many weapons do you have?"

"..." It was obvious that Noctis wasn't expecting that type of question. Thankfully, the young man was prepared. "Ask her." He pointed towards Ruby Rose. "She asked me a bunch of questions about my weapons and took a bunch of photos. You can ask her, she'll let you know."

"Uh, I mean, Um…". Poor Ruby Rose couldn't help but feel flustered. Yeah, what her Professor said was true but he didn't have to do it like that! The poor girl could hear here teammates snickering at her.

"Wonderful, I will do just that. Thank you for the match Professor, I learned a lot today ."

"You did?" Noctis just said pulled those words out of his ass, it's the stuff that his dad would drill into him during sparks. "I-I mean of course you did." His save was anything but nice.

"Thank you Ms. Nikos you may return to your seat. For now let us focus on the next match.."

Lunch time.

Perhaps Noctis second two favorite word, right behind video games. The young man was currently having lunch outside in the courtyard. Glynda wasn't able to join him, she had to y'all to Ozpin about something. That's was for him, this silence was bliss. Just him, his food and his phone.

"Heya Professor!"

...well, that's what Noctis gets for tempting fate. He should buy know that fate doesn't like him.

Noctis turned to see who was talking to him. He was met with three familiar faces and one that he didn't recognize. What was team called again? Team JNPR, right?

"Nora, I don't think that was very polite." Noctis recognized him, that was Ren.

"Aw come on Ren, he doesn't mind right Professor?!" An orange haired girl cried out with excitement as she sat down right across from Noctis. Which in turn caused the man to raise an eyebrow as to what was going on.

"Sorry Professor, we wanted to know if we could join you for lunch?" Said the blond haired teen, Jaune was his name. When Noctis shot him a skeptical look the young teen Explained further. "Pyrrha was the one who wanted us to join you."

"Hello!" The redhead said politely. "May we join you?"

"...Yeah sure, doesn't bother me." Noctis didn't see any harm in doing so, plus he is a teacher and it's his job to be nice to the students.

He continued eating in silence, not making any attempt to start a conversation with them. Though that was becoming hard because he could feel their eyes on him. Finally, he relented. Noctis was going to take a bite and ask what they wanted to ask him.

"What's up?" He said in between chewing his food.

"Your semblance, what exactly is it?"

He stopped chewing and felt the need to clarify.

"Um, excuse me?" His question did not stop Jaune Arc.

"You we're pulling swords out of nowhere!" The young student went on to explain. "A sword, a shield, a gun! Just how are you doing it?"

Oh boy, this isn't good. Truth be told Noctis hasn't really thought of an explanation for if someone asked him. To be fair, no one has bothered too, so he never thought it was needed to think of an answer. Welp, he's regretting that now.

"It's-"

"Professor Noctis!"

Saved by the freaking bell.

Noctis turned around to see Ruby Rose and her team standing behind him with an excited look on her face and tray in her hands.

"Your having lunch outside?! Can we join you?" Ruby asked with a smile.

"Ruby, we really shouldn't-"

"Sure! C'mon and join us." Noctis immediately shut Blake down. This was perfect, this distraction was exactly what he needed, now maybe they'll forget the question about his semblance. He moved all the way to the side allowing team RWBY to sit next to him. Ruby picked sitting right next to him, the girl was clearly happy sitting next to her favorite teacher.

"What were you talking about Professor?" Asked Yang.

Uh oh, that's bad. Need to switch the subject before-

"We were talking about his semblance." Damn you orange haired girl! "We wanted to know how he summons those cool weapons that trashed Pyrrha! So tell us Professor."

All eyes turned on Noctis, and he was sweating in his mind. Trying to think of something that would make sense.

"It's dust base clothing isn't it?" His answer came from Weiss Schnee. The white haired girl looked at him like a specimen. "Your using dust combined with your semblance to summon those weapons. I've seen it before."

"T-That's right." Noctis had no idea what dust based clothing is but he's sure as hell going to jump on it. "That's how I'm being those weapons to me."

"That's very expensive." Spoke Ren in a quiet voice. "Not to mention requires a mastery of dust and ones on semblance."

It did? Oh man, the more this conversation continued the more Noctis realized he hadn't thought of an answer for these important questions. After this he's going to need to work on his back ground so this doesn't happen again.

"Then I guess it was no surprise you managed to beat Pyrrha right teach?" Said Yang with a smile on her face.

"Hey!" Exclaimed Jaune. "It ended in a draw. There wasn't a winner." Noctis's, not wanting to start an argument of who can beat who, was about to agree but…

"No, she's right Jaune." Said the red headed woman. "That was my lost, even after using my semblance to pull your sword you anticipated it and had a gun ready. Even if I were to fire I'm not sure if my bullet would have landed."

Oh yeah, speaking of which.

"You moved my weapons? That's it right? Some sort of telepathic thing right?" Asked Noctis.

"I believe it's called Telekinetic Professor."

"What Belladona said." Noct commended himself for that excellent save.

"Well not exactly, my semblance is magnetism. That's how I was able to move your weapons, I'm surprised you didn't ask my after the match Professor."

Noctis shrugged, truth is he wasn't all that curious.

"So that's how you were able to win all those matches!" Exclaimed Yang. "You move their weapons at the last moment. Making them think that they miss at the last minute."

"Exactly, though it didn't seem to work on you Professor. You powered right through it."

You can thank the magic that was pumping through his body for that. He simply put in a bit more in his body to increase his strength. That's what he did when he parried that fist from the Titan.

"I did my best to keep it a secret but it seems most now know."

Noctis raised an eyebrow at that declaration.

"Why reveal it then?" He asked out of curiosity.

"I didn't want to lose." She said as a matter of fact. "It's been a while since I felt a thrill of a fight or have lost. I can't wait for our next bout Professor."

Huh, well that makes-Wait what?

"Uh, Next bout?" Noctis wanted to make sure he heard that clear.

"Of course!" Pyrrha said with a smile. "I plan to ask Professor Goodwitch for another bout, I'm certain with the proper reason she'll agree." Why did she sound so excited saying that?

"I-"

"Hold on!" Noctis couldn't get another word in due to Ruby speaking, a fire was burning in her eyes. "If anyone is going to fight Professor Noctis it's gonna be us! Team RWBY has improved since last time. Right?!"

"Right!" Said Yang. "Get ready for round 2 Professor!"

"Of course!" Said Weiss. "As a Schnee it is my duty to carry the honor of my family. Professor Caelum will definitely notice our improvement." There was no hiding the pride in that voice.

"S-Sure…" said Blake, who was ignored by everyone except Noctis.

"We'll be fighting him next, just wait Professor!" Ruby turned to him with sparkles in her eyes. "I'll ask Professor Goodwitch right away. You'll be so excited and impressed with how much stronger we've gotten!"

"Now hold on I-"

But it was too late, the teams erupted in a heated verbal battle over who would be the next to fight him. Noctis looked around and saw that other students and teams were walking by and taking note of the conversation. Funny enough, the antics didn't bother him. A small smile came to him as he looked at the two teams battling one another.

"Your not upset?" Seems like Blake noticed his expression and was confused as how he isn't frustrated by the bickering. "Figured you'd be upset with all this noise."

Noctis look to RWBY and JNPR going back and forth with their banter, a smile of nostalgia came to him.

"Nah." He said causally. "Seeing those two teams go at it, brings back some good memories."

End Chapter

So, Long time no see. Sorry, what your probably hoping for is for me to say "I'm back!"

Sorry, but I don't think that's the case. Chapter 10 has been in works since my last update of this story and I've just slowly lost interest. It's been a year since I've played FFXV and I've stopped watching RWBY as well.

I wanted to update this though because this fix put me on the map. You guys loved and supported it and I'm grateful. It's cause of this that Spider-Quirk and Cages Butterflies are doing so well.

I've gotten PM asking if I would ever continue this sorry and I've always told them that maybe someday.

I don't want to give you false hope. Maybe I will come back, later on I'll pick it back up and start pumping chapters. Maybe, but I can't say for certain.

I'm sorry to all you, please know that I do appreciate all the constructive criticism and reviews that you've given me.

Till next time, thank you for reading.
