I know I should probably be working on my other stories before starting a new one, but I've been watching Merlin (don't judge) and rewatching Reborn lately. Merlin gave me the idea for a plot, and well, Reborn gave me another idea. I merged them together and got this...

As for my other stories, you can't rush the writing gods...

Tsuna is 8, and Byakuran is 13. They're half brothers and the whole family tree is just fucked up. Timoteo is still in power, and I will post the whole family tree and respective jobs everyone has once I get the fine details sorted out.

Tsuna ran through the garden chasing a butterfly. The melodious sound of his giggle reverberated throughout the garden. Suddenly, the young boy was hit in the head with a small rock. Tsuna fell, scraping his knee against the gravel path.

"Waaaaaah! Mama!"

"My, my. Tsuna, be careful. You shouldn't be running in the garden."

"Kura-nii! I was chasing a butterfly, *hic* and I tripped! Waaaah!"

"There. There," Byakuran picked Tsuna up and planted a kiss on his cheek. "It's just a scrape. Let's go see Doctor Shamal and get you patched up. Okay?"

"Okay! Kura-nii, you're the best," Tsuna exclaimed, giving the older boy a hug.

Byakuran carried Tsuna through the castle towards the doctor's quarters. Once there, he sat Tsuna on a chair before walking further in to find Shamal. As always, the good for nothing doctor was sleeping with his head on his desk. If it weren't for the fact that he was good at his profession, Shamal would have already died at the hands of a farmer. Whatever time wasn't spent sleeping, or taking care of those within the castle walls, was spent chasing women. Kicking the doctor's chair roughly, Byakuran successfully brought the man out of his slumber.

"Huh? Oh! Sir Byakuran. To what do I owe your visit this fine day?"

"Cut the crap, Shamal. Tsuna fell running in the garden."

Byakuran led Shamal to the chair Tsuna still resided on. The younger had stopped crying, but the occasional muffled sob could still be heard.

"Tch. And here I thought you were finally bringing me a cute girl to treat. No matter, I don't mind treating cute little Tsuna here. After all, he is this kingdom's greatest treasure."

At that, Byakuran gave Shamal a death glare. Not that the doctor noticed. He was busy patching Tsuna up with a cute lion bandage. Shamal then handed the boy a lollipop for being strong, before sending him on his way.

"You know, that boy loves you to death," Shamal stated, turning to Byakuran.

"Shut up! I'd gut you like a fish if my father didn't value your skills."

Byakuran walked out seething, leaving Shamal feeling bad for poor Tsuna. If only the young prince knew Byakuran's true personality. He couldn''t bring himself to pop the boy's bubble. Only time could tell what Tsuna's feelings would be once he learned the truth.

Dun! Dun! DUN!

Not to worry! Hibari to the rescue! Not. At least not yet. Not until the proverbial shit really starts to hit the fan. And that won't be for a while. At least two or three chapters later.
