The Witcher: A Different Breed Of Wolf

Disclaimer: I do not own Halo or The Witcher in anyway shape or form they belong to their respective owners.

E: Well you said it yourself in your first review YOU have a problem with the word "supple" I've read countless stories that use that word when describing women, and some far more vulgar then anything I've even written for ANY of my stories so I don't see what the problem is; furthermore, I am word-building. If I just written "She had red hair, green eyes, milky skin and was wearing a dress." You see how bland and boring that looks/reads? And how did you get the impression that the only reason for this being a Six x Triss pairing is just so in your words "So Six can fuck Triss." Have you played any of the games or read the books? Because if you have then you know exactly how powerful she is. So, no Triss hasn't just been included for Noble Six to fuck.

But you're right about one thing, Dot is a Military A.I; or at least she was a Dumb A.I when she was with Noble Team ergo why she displayed such limited emotion compared to either Cortana or Roland. Right now she is more human then Six seeing as how she not only has an understanding of human emotions but is now a true intelligence. Nevertheless your idea about Six surviving with his baseline Mark V armour is what I was originally going to do before I went with my usual Forerunner route.

Halo312: The reason why I decided this would be a Noble Six x Triss is because every Witcher fic I've read in the past whether its a Witcher fanfiction or a Witcher crossover Triss is always paired with Geralt; so I thought why not try something different?

Kaiser Umbra: Thank you for your review and suggestion about doing the Harem; if I do then I'll do my best.

Captain Scion: Appreciate your words and thank you for the feedback; and I have :D

13:22 Hours, September 18, 2552 (Military Calendar) Unknown World, The Continent, Kaedwen, Hertch, Kaer Morhen.

"Don't push your luck, kid." The Spartan-III commando retorted at the ashen haired girl that was in front of him who in return scowled at him narrowing her emerald green eyes at the super soldier, something that bought him no small amount of amusement if the twitch of his lip was any indication. Truly it was the simpler things in life that brought him the most happiness...that and from his brief interaction with Geralt's adoptive daughter he realized that she was rather easy to wind up; if he was going to be stuck there for the foreseeable future then it was good to have something to pass the time.

"Don't call me kid." Ciri protested looking grumpy as she glared at the giant human locking her vibrant green eyes on him.

"Would child suffice?"

"No it would not!" Scowled the ashen-grey haired girl ignoring the muffled chuckle from her adoptive father. "Besides if I'm a child then what does that make you! hmm?" She challenged thrusting a finger in his face." A boy?

"Meaning?" Noble Six inquired deciding to entertain the young Witcher, or at least from what he had gathered she was a Witcher in everything but name and lacked the mutations that Geralt and the other Witchers had been subjected to give them their abilities and longevity; the latter intrigued him more then the former. Not that the ability to mimic "magic" didn't appeal to him he could certainly see the advantages of having and entire army of Sorcerers and Sorceresses to fight against the Covenant and the Insurrectionists, men and women raining down fireballs, calling down storms down upon humanities enemies would have turned the tide of the war and gave the UNSC a fighting chance, hell they might have even won!

"Meaning! What do you think I mean?" Ciri asked wagging her finger in his face. "You don't look that much older then me, Gigantor!"

"Maybe I'm older then I look?" The Hyper Lethal Vector countered raising an eyebrow at her.

"I don't think so..."

"Perhaps he is?" The raspy voice of Geralt remarked from beside his daughter gaining their attention cutting her off mid sentence. "If his augmentations are like Witcher mutations then maybe Spartans live as long as Witchers." The White Wolf suggested with a shrug looking between Six and Ciri.

"That could be the case for the surviving Spartan-II's and Gamma Company if they manage to endure the war until the end." The Lone Wolf sadly thought; much like the Witchers no Spartan had ever died in their bed, either they had perished during the augmentation process though that was mainly the II's and Alpha Company, by the time that Beta had been initiated the augmentations had been perfected to a level where the genetic requirements were less strict thanks to the advances in technology that compensated for the inferior stock in comparison to perfect specimens that Doctor Halsey had picked for the Spartan-II program.

But back to the question at hand, he was unsure how long Spartans would live for. He doubted that even Doctor Halsey knew the answer to that question. The oldest Spartans alive were currently in their early forties and even then their ages had been slowed from their constant usage of the cryogenic pods. As for himself he was currently unsure how long he would live for if he didn't fall in battle; if what the Forerunner Monitor said was true then the nanites that were currently "swimming" in his blood stream then they keep his body at its physical prime...if that was the case then would that mean that he was technically immortal?

" I don't think so," Ciri started once more pretending that Geralt had interrupted her. " Not only do you only look a little bit older then myself, but your eyes look young too."

"Have you been gazing into them in great detail, Ciri?" Geralt teased as a smile formed on his rugged features. "I probably should let Yen know." He added getting the response he had been expecting from her.

"WHAT!?" Ciri almost screeched at the Witcher, her eyes widening like a deer caught in the spotlight and a prominent blush growing across her cheeks as she turned to face the master swordsmen. "YOU CAN'T TELL YENNIFER!" She exclaimed pleading to Geralt before suddenly realising what she said, and in front of Six and the other Witchers in the distance that had stopped their sparring session no less. "Uh, I mean that I haven't been staring into his eyes."

"Hmmm." The Butcher of Blaviken responded the same smile that refused subside, a smile that made the sole Princess of Cintra fume; he was enjoying this!

"What about my eyes captivates you so?" B312 inquired tilting his head to the side ever so slightly.

"T-They do not..." She began flustered at the Spartans bluntness. Her embarrassment quickly subsided when she saw the super soldiers lips twitch in what she assumed was the equivalent of him smiling. Latching on to what was going on she glared daggers at the augmented and mutated humans. "I hate you both."

"I'm hurt."

"You will be after I'm done with you." The Swallow growled at the survivor of Reach who looked more amused then anything at her threat. " You won't find it so funny when I beat your sorry arse." She threatened scrunching her face to look as menacing as possible.

"Huh!" The lieutenant remarked feigning surprise. "Didn't take you for one of those girls, Cirila." He added coyly leaving the girl speechless at the straightforwardness of the Spartan-III commando.

"W-what?" The Princess of Cintra stammered as the redness across her cheeks returned with a vengeance. "What're you talking about, what kind of girl?" She dreaded to ask but if he was implying what she believed he was then she was going to tear him apart! Eva would have to find a new instructor was all; she was positive that either Geralt or Vesimir could fill that role nicely.

"Taking your frustration out on me." B312 continued inwardly grinning at her flustered state knowing that he was getting underneath her skin before their match, which ultimately meant that she wouldn't be fighting him level-headed and instead would try humiliate him in front of the others to prove that she was head and shoulders above him; which she no doubt was with a blade. He was from a civilization that was currently set in the twenty sixth century, where gunpower and guns had long ago replace both swords and bows centuries ago.

The only blades that were commonplace throughout the UNSC were the standard issue combat knife that given to every soldier in the service, and none were used with the skill or grace that Geralt and the other Witchers displayed; hell he doubted that even Emile, a Spartan that was not only the CQC specialist of Noble Team and had a fascination (obsession) with sharp objects could contend with the prowess of a professional monster hunter, especially if they were all seasoned warriors like the white haired Witcher.

"There is a name for girls like you." Noble Six finished with an forlorn sigh and shook his head in faux disappointment.

"I-I...y-you.." Ciri stuttered struggling to form a coherent sentence as she desperately tried to find a retort as Geralt and the other Witchers that had heard their conversation chuckled at her predicament; damn traitors the lot of them! Giving up she merely huffed at the Spartan before quickly turned on her heel and stormed towards the castle.

"Going somewhere?" The White One asked his retreating ward as she headed up the hill and headed for the keep. "I thought that you wanted to spar with Six!?" He shouted calling up to his daughter.

"I AM!" She answered screaming back across her shoulder. "I WANT EVERYONE HERE TO SEE ME KICK HIS ARSE!" She bellowed before the ashen haired girl disappeared from view leaving both the White Wolf and Lone Wolf down in the courtyard as he headed towards the keep to collect the rest of the Witchers, Triss and Eva so that they could all watch her trounce him in their spar. How dare he insinuate that she was some common whore she thought clenching her fists and gritting her teeth; she would show him! he wouldn't be co cocky and talk so lewdly when in the presence of a woman when she knocked him down a peg or two.

"I think you made an enemy." Geralt commented to the large human beside him as his daughter in everything but blood disappeared from view giving him the opportunity to speak to the Spartan privately; well there were other Witchers about so technically they weren't in private, but at least Ciri was out of earshot.

"I am a people person."

"So I've noticed." The Witcher uttered with a smile before he turned to face the larger human who glanced around the courtyard, probably waiting for Eva to return from her break; or maybe like the majority of the population he simply didn't trust the Witchers and was watching their every move to make sure that they didn't try to force his charge into becoming a Mutant against her will...even if the Spartans and Witchers seemed near identical to one another. "You've been here for a couple of days and you've haven't spoken anyone with the exception of myself, Eva, Triss, Ciri and Vesimir."

" That's five people." Six retorted to the white haired monster hunter as he turned to face him; though now that he thought about it why was Geralt the only Witcher with white hair? The entire castle was full of Witchers of all shapes and forms and none had the snow white hair that Geralt possessed, not even Vesimir one of the oldest Witchers inside Kaer Morhen who if what he heard was true then he was nearly six hundred years old.

"There are dozens of Witchers in the castle." The professional monster slayer countered. "You seem to be going out of your way to avoid everyone."

"Maybe I'm shy?"

"And I have a pet Necker."

"...That like a dog?" The sixth member of Noble Team asked after a few moments. Seriously he was really going to have to brush up on this would terminology if he and Dot were staying there for the foreseeable future; he felt like a damn fool not knowing what he inkling was the most basic things in the world. While Geralt and the other Witchers had a good laugh at his confusion, B312 took a moment to ponder how much his life had changed and how quickly he had been forced to adapt to that strange world that was known only as the Continent.

A few Weeks Prior...

Grabbing the A.I data chip from the holographic pedestal, Noble Six yanked the chip from the pedestal before reaching behind his helmet to find where to insert her chip, it took a few seconds to pinpoint exactly where the slit was but once he did he pushed the her through the narrow gap at the back of her helmet and into the SPARTAN Neutral Interface sending a shiver that ran through his entire body; it wasn't painful experience but it was certainly an uncomfortable sensation, like something had crawled underneath every layer of mass until they were directly above his bones and took a nail before they began scraping away.

"You okay?" The heavily accented voice of Auntie Dot asked softly, though unlike before it sounded like she was a voice in his head; and he sure that he hadn't lost his sanity just yet meaning that his new interface allowed Dot to speak directly into his mind rather then speaking through the suits comms….or maybe she could do both? He would have to ask them when the Covenant weren't banging down their door.

"I'm fine." B312 waved off her concerns; it was going to take more then some new technology no matter how advanced it may be to throw him off." It'll just take some time to adjust is all."

"I understand." Dot replied seemingly agreeing with him. "But right now you should run through the portal before it closes." She highly suggested knowing that time was against them now not only because the Covenant had located both them and the facility, but also because Vigilance was going to blow the entire Forerunner installation to smithereens to prevent their aggressors from getting their scaly hands off its secrets.

"And where does it lead?" The Lone Wolf asked the former A.I of Noble Team, an Artificial Intelligence that he guessed now belonged to him now Carter, Kat, Emile and Jorge had perished and he had no way of knowing if Jun had accomplished his mission and extracted Doctor Halsey to CASTLE Base and no way of knowing if he was still alive; he hoped that he was but he wasn't going to hold his breath.

"I don't know." Dot admitted to the Spartan, earning a look from the Hyper Lethal Vector.

"Come again?"

"I'm sorry but neither me or Vigilance had the time to set the coordinates for Earth." The former Dumb A.I explained to the Spartan-III commando quickly. "The plan was to slowly ease you into everything but as you can see nothing worked out like we hoped."

"Does it ever?"

"But right now we have no choice," Dot carried on ignoring that she had been interrupted." The Monitor is about to blow this place sky-high and us with it unless we get out of here!" She exclaimed stressing the urgency of the situation the pair were currently in.

"Alright, I get it." Six gave in knowing that she was right. He supposed he had no choice then, did he?" Lets go."

"You're the one with the legs, Lieutenant, not me." Ignoring her teasing, Alex ran forward towards the portal surprising himself how quickly he crossed the room but swiftly push such thoughts away; now wasn't the time to be distracted. Once he reached the Slip-Space portal, Six ran through it leaving the Forerunner Facility behind forever. Not even a second later the Spartan found himself transported amidst what he assumed to be a woodlands area judging by all the trees in the vicinity, trees that from what he could see stretched in every direction with their leaf's slowly turning brown; meaning that wherever they had been transported was either entering or had entered the autumn season.

"Any idea where we are?" The black armoured Spartan asked as he reached up to grabbed the Battle Rifle from his back and began securing the area; it would just be his luck that they had been transported to the Covenant home world.

"Until I found a network to hack into then I believe the correct human term is that we're flying blind." Auntie Dot informed her partner as she appeared to the side of his HUD, her avatar crossing her arms and looking less then pleased. "Please be careful, Alex. I don't like sending you out into the unknown." She spoke softly taking Noble Six back, and not just because she had called him by his name. Working for ONI, under the direct command of his former handler Colonel James Ackerson he wasn't used to people worrying around him. The risk of death was commonplace throughout the war and especially for a Spartan-III, the expendable super soldier, the class of Spartans that had been created with the sole purpose of trading lives for time.

"I'll be fine." Six reassured the Dot doing his best to set her mind at rest; although come to think of it did she even have a mind? like and actually mind? Shaking his head he really needed to stop getting distracted so much, particularly when he had no idea where the two of them had been transported too or what could be awaiting them. "Not my first rodeo."

" You make sure that it's not your last, Lieutenant."

"I thought Kat was a pessimist." The Grim Reaper of the Insurrections remarked light-heartedly as he made his way forward and headed deeper into the forest. As he progressed through the woods the Spartan noticed the ground was softer and damper as he made his way deeper into the woodlands until the hard ground he had previously been walking on disappeared and was traded with the wet dark substance known as mud; what made it harder to traverse through the area was the weight of his Mjolnir that made him sink deeper into the ground until his feet were all but swallowed into the ground.

"Who's idea was this again?" Beta 312 could help but ask out loud as he carried on his way looking for any sign of human life; god he hoped that they had landed on a human colony, even an Insurrection controlled colony would be a better alterative then being left stranded on a Covenant world.

"I believe it was yours, Noble Six." Dot answered not missing a beat. "I never told you which way to go, you did that of your own free will." She couldn't help but add smiling all the way.

"It was a rhetorical question." The Hyper Lethal Vector stated neutrally, his voice void of sentiment as he continued he trek across the foreign land.

After a good fifteen minutes of wading through the woodlands sludge that was now passed his ankles as he tried to look for a way out of the forest which currently appeared to be never-ending to the super soldier, The Lone Wolf suddenly stopped in his tracks as he picked up the sound of running water echoing throughout the woods that seemed to bounce off the trees trying to entice him to investigate the noise; which against his better judgment it did...furthermore it was only water what was the worse that could happen?

Following the source of the running water, Noble Six finally discovered the origin of the noise which turned out to be a large river that with a glance seemed to run the length of the entire woodlands. Looking to his left to where the water was originating from, B312 saw a cascade of water falling from the top of the hill and flowing down the river that seemed to been formed naturally. Turning back to the right the Spartan to see where the water was heading and saw that it was going deeper into the woods.

"You should follow the river, Lieutenant." Dot suggested startling the Spartan, he had almost forgotten about her. "It has to lead somewhere." She added trying to be as optimistic as she could given their current situation.

"And it could lead nowhere." retorted the Spartan.

"Surely anywhere is better then this forest?" Dot countered earning a muffled response from her partner. "What was that?"

"I said alright." Six answered before turning around and went to head out; alas as he went to make his way down the muddy riverbank his eyes snapped to his Radar that suddenly lit up like a Christmas tree as several blips popped up. Spinning around and snapping his battle rifle up to face the unidentified target only to come face to face with the silent forest making him frown behind his visor; he didn't know what it was but something really unsettled him about that forest...it also didn't help that he had no idea where he was or what could be lurking inside waiting for him to let his guard down.

"Nothing." The Spartan-III commando muttered looking around for any sign of life but found nothing.

"Relax, Lieutenant." Dot spoke gently." It was probably just some aquatic creature was all."

"Maybe." Six whispered agreeing with A.I; still that didn't mean that he was going to let his guard down, until they discovered exactly where that portal had transported them to they couldn't afford too. Turning back around the Spartan slowly trailed down the riverbank just encase something out there was watching him...well them.

It was then he heard it! the sound of something emerging from the water. Turning back around he pointed his weapon to the source of the noise only to be left speechless at what he saw. it was like something out of one of those old horror movies, he even blinked a few times just to make sure he hadn't lost his mind...just to make sure that everything that he had done since he had woken up wasn't him hallucinating and he was still on reach suffering from brain damage...or something along those lines; Unfortunately for the Hyper Lethal Vector it was no nightmare.

At first all he saw was a strip of wet black hair before the rock that it rested on emerged from beneath the river revealing that it was in fact no fungus but rather a humanoid head that had shrivelled up bluish-grey skin from what Six could only hypothesize was from the prolonged exposure to the water, large empty white eyes that seemed to stare right into his soul, it had razer-sharp teeth and looked to be foaming at the mouth as its eyes locked onto him. It slowly stalked towards the riverbank and towards him he got a good look at the creature once it was out of the water. It had a slim, lean body that was vacant of bodyfat, down the arms appeared to scales or something that bore a resemblance to scales, large jagged fins down its arms and matching webbed hands with sharpened claws.

"What is it?" The Spartan asked only to notice that it wasn't alone as ripples formed in the water formed in the river before several more appeared, all indistinguishable from another rose from the water.

"I...have no idea." Auntie Dot finally answered being just as surprised as the Spartan was at the unidentified creature that had emerged from the river. "It looks mostly human...maybe its some experiment sanctioned by the Office Of Naval Intelligence?" The former Dumb A.I put forward as she went through the data that she downloaded from the ONI servers that were still operational while she was waiting for Six to make a full recovery. "To create a soldier that could breath indefinitely underwater without the aid of an breathing apparatus." She suggested.

"Mayb…" Before he could even finish his conversation the creature that had surfaced first let out a inhuman shriek and lunged at him; the shriek seemed to be call that the others were waiting for as they wasted little time in waded through river to get to him, letting out a screech that made the Spartan want to cover his ears from the ungodly noise.

Barely having a chance to defend himself from the attack, Six was taken back by the sheer speed of the abominations before him. The beast spread its webbed hand out and extended its serrated claws and swung at him. Using his superior reflexes to counter the attack, B312 grabbed the outstretched hand preventing it from clawing him only to be attacked by the other claw that scrapped across his armour scratching the paint off, something that made the Hyper Lethal scowl; that was new armour damn it! With his weapon in hand, the Spartan used his arm to backhand the monster off him just as the other abominations joined the fray.

By the skin of his teeth he managed to move out of the way another lunged for him then swung his Battle Rifle knocking one of the beast to the ground before he turned his weapon back around aimed it at the downed creature then fired a single round killing them with a single shot to the head. Seeing the blood leaking out the back of its skull and onto the ground, Six turned around to engage the others but as he did one of the monsters leapt through the air and attached itself to him forcing the Spartan to drop his weapon as he used both hands to try to pry it off as it began mindlessly attacking him.

Gritting his teeth as he tried to push the creature off that continued to scratch, slash and pound his armour every chance it got, Six was too busy defending himself to notice the other creatures following suit and latched onto him from every direction before they began copying the firsts actions and began to relentless pummel him forcing his shields to flare around him. As they continued trying to tear through his armour to pry him out of it and drag him to the ground, the one that had attacked first and was clawing at his helmet and even resorted to biting prevented the Spartan was seeing what was in front of him.

Not knowing if they could breach the armour, Six decided he wasn't going to take that risk. So with that in mind he ran forward with the creatures still attached to him that either were so blood lusted that hadn't noticed or they merely didn't care. Moving quicker then he had ever done before, the Hyper Lethal Vector ran blind through the woodlands as he tried to find a tree; honestly how hard could it be? The entire place was full of them!

Almost as on cue he slammed into something hard sending a sicking crunch echoing throughout the forest; both from the tree and the creature who ceased their attack and went limp. Their eyes had already looked dead from the moment that they emerged from the water so there was no way of knowing if he had killed it. Wasting no time pushing it off him, Six watched dropped to the ground and slid down the tree trunk. Certain that he had killed it, the Spartan threw himself back landing on the monster that had been having a good old time clawing at his back and used the weight of the armour to crush them underneath him. Quickly getting back up off the ground, The Lone Wolf kept his eyes on the last two abominations that had been clinging to his arms moments ago.

Bending his knees slightly he reached up and grabbed his combat knife as the two get back up to their feet. Once they had their eyes locked onto him and barred their teeth at the super soldier who waited for them both to their make their move; thankfully he didn't have to wait long as the to leaped into action rushed him. As the first reached him, Six moved ever so slightly to dodge the claw that was swung at him then countered it by grabbing the extended hand with his own twisted it behind their back before bringing his knife down to stab it in the throat. Giving twist that made it gasp as the air left its system, Six quickly dispatched of them before he tore the knife out not being gentle in the slightest; then finished the last one off by throwing the knife at them that then stabbed into their head killing them abruptly before they even had the chance to see the knife coming.

As it dropped to the ground with its head snapped back, Six looked around the area to inspect his handiwork to see the four dead creatures on the ground and his weapon laying by the river bed where he had dropped. Of all the things he had seen over the course of the last thirteen years since he had first been offered a place on the SPARTAN-III Program, extra-terrestrial life, plasma weaponry, super soldiers, star ships, Artificial Intelligences, a species that once ruled the entire milky way galaxy, technology that made anything that humanity or the Covenant built look pitiful in comparison...but those creatures? If he had a list for bizarre things then they'd make the top five without a doubt.

"Still think ONI made them?" Alex asked as he went over to the creature to recover his knife.

"I...don't know what to think." Auntie Dot murmured trying to find most plausible and logical explanation might of been. She was still convinced that they were some sort of failed experiment created a new breed of soldier to combat the Covenant or Insurrectionists...maybe both. It could that they had tried splicing human and a form aquatic DNA to create a new breed of soldier; unlikely but even knew that there were no lines that ONI wouldn't cross...even trying their hand at playing God. "Right now I think our only objective should be trying to get any information we can on this place."

"Agreed." Noble Six nodded being in the same mind as he placed his knife back into his sheath. Those things that he had just encountered made no sense to him, creatures like those belonged in fantasy not the real world. Shaking his head and returning to reality the Spartan wandered over to the riverbed and grabbed his rifle from the ground. Placing it back onto the magnetic plate he took one final look around before he followed the river hoping to find someway out of the woods and discover what kind of fucked up world the two had arrived on.

And cut! Well here is the next chapter of The Witcher: A Different Breed Of Wolf! I hoped you all enjoyed it. Sorry if you were anticipating the fight between Six and Ciri, I'll have their spar happening next chapter. The reason why I had this flashback was because I wanted to write about his first encounter with a monster rather then just writing "Oh he fought a monster and won." I probably could of done a better fight scene but taking into consideration that they were only Drowners, the weakest of all the monsters (IMO) then they wouldn't really prove a challenge to him; it was more of the shock of seeing them that took him off guard.

Also what do you all think of a Fable x Witcher story staring Sparrow? The basic premise of the story would be that after the Wild Hunt invade Albion and kidnap both his children after Ciri accidently brings them there when either the Prince/Princess find her outside the castle. Sparrow after having his age reversed by Theresa via an Old Kingdom potion is transported to the world that the Hunt frequent regularly and tries to find that Ashen haired girl (who he believes in in cahoots with the Hunt) and find his children.

The other option is that moments before he dies in his bed and Logan takes his place as King, Theresa offers Sparrow a second at life where no longer will his life bound by destiny. Accepting her offer he has his youth restored back to when he first set out on his quest vengeance and is transported to a brand new world. While there he gains the attention of the Lodge of Sorceresses and various Kingdoms.

Or the final option is that while on his way back to the Continent, the ship that Geralt is on is forced to dock in a strange country that he later learns is Albion, the fabled land of heroes that many in that age believed to be nothing more then a myth. While there he encounters two children called Rose and Sparrow who he later learns are the descendants of the first Archon William Black; a name that even in the Continent is still revered with awe. After witnessing Sparrow fall from Fairfax castle and getting him aid, Geralt decides to bring Sparrow back to Kaer Morhen with him to train him to hone his gifts...A few years later Sparrow would meet a certain Ashen-haired girl that much like himself has a destiny to fulfil.

Sparrow x Ciri. Their relationship will be very much like the Hero of Oakvale and Whisper from the original Fable.

Anyway let me know what you think :)
