A/N: My first idea was a bust, so here's hoping I can get something written in less than 45 minutes.

Not really how I wanted to break into the TouRan fandom, but here's to doing it slowly and not as wildly as I'd originally hoped.

.

"What's this?"

Kiyomitsu looked at the little red box that sat in his friend's palm, silently admiring the pink ribbon it was tied with. Yasusada looked at him with a wide smile.

"Master said today's a day where lovers and friends give gifts to each other as a show of affection. Something called "Va-len-tines"?" He said, pronouncing the word slowly to make sure he was remembering it right. The other sword warrior hummed, now looking between the box and his roommate, still not completely understanding the meaning. "... So he helped me make some chocolates. For you. And a few for Kane-san and Kunihiro, but theirs were different."

"Oh? How so?" Kiyomitsu asked, now very interested. Yasusada's cheeks flushed pink for a second before he composed himself, straightening his back.

"Because this one's for Kiyomitsu, obviously." He huffed, as if it answered the question.

"But what if I said I didn't want it? Maybe I don't like chocolate." It was a lie, obviously, but he wanted to tease the other a little. He blinked when Yasusada looked at him blankly, now holding the box out of his reach.

"Then in that case, I'll take it back." He said, turning away. Kiyomitsu sputtered before hurriedly standing up, reaching out to stop the other sword.

"H-Hold on, I didn't say I don't want it! Just a possibility!" He said, realizing his attempt at teasing backfired horribly. He knew what Valentines was, he knew why Yasusada was giving him chocolate, and he knew that his friend was too straightforward for this to be a joke.

"Nah, if you don't want it, I'll just give it to Master. I was going to make more later, but might as well not waste resources, right?" He said with a shrug, continuing to walk down the corridor towards the Saniwa's room. Kiyomitsu followed close behind, whining loudly about how unfair it was that he took him seriously. On the way, they passed the kitchen, where Yagen and Mitsutada seemed to be having a similar conversation. Only it was Yagen that was bugging the Tachi for chocolates while he attempted to prepare lunch.

Then they passed the training hall. And the baths. And the recreational room, before Kiyomitsu realized Yasusada had been leading him around the entire Citadel and they'd been going in circles for quite a while. He'd wondered why Izuminokami and Horikawa had given they such an amused look when they passed the fields three times, and why Monoyoshi had looked at him with a mix of pity and exasperation. Were they in on this?

In response to this thought, he stopped abruptly, grabbing Yasusada's scarf and forcing him to a halt as well.

"Yasusada." He said flatly. "Just hurry up and hand it over. We both know you're going to."

"... Yeah, but it took you a while to figure out, right?"

.

"So how'd it go?" Horikawa asked later, while they finished their chores. Yasusada smiled.

"I don't think he got it."

A/N: Valentines fics are not my specialty, mostly because they're MEANT to be romantic and I don't usually plan for them like I do Christmas and Halloween(though I tend to plan so far ahead for those that I end up forgetting about them). I thought about dropping an omake where the Saniwa asks Yasusada how his prank went, but that would have taken too long to figure out.
