Hairstyles and Glitter
Deep down, Silver knew that as soon as he heard conspicuous laughter emitting from Gold's bedroom closet, he was in for a surprise.
The boy had asked him to come over to his house for whatever reason. To Silver, anything Gold could do, he would find some way to overcome his shenanigans and outsmart him. That is, except in Pokémon battles, but that was a whole other issue.
It was really why Gold was giggling that shocked him. It wasn't anything showy about how Gold entered- slamming open the closet door, holding something behind his back, telling him to sit down and-Holy crap, was that a blindfold?! Silver sat down on the floor, blindfolded and just about ready to exit right out of the room right now. But a part of him told him to stay and sit.
There was slight rummaging from Gold, and Silver felt a tugging sensation on his hair. Jerking back in surprise, Gold let out a noise of impatience.
"Sorry Silver," he said with a tinge of humor to his voice, "you have to be a good boy and sit still, okay?" God, he was mocking him and they both knew it. It shocked Silver, honestly, that he himself was not subconsciously finding a way to get back at Gold later, whatever he would be doing.
It had taken him a moment to realize Gold was combing through his hair. Silver always had it well kept and neat, so it wasn't any surprise there. It was only when he felt a familiar pressure being applied to partings of his hair that he realized what was going on.
"Gold, you little…" Silver hissed, "You better not be doing what I think you are!" He drummed his fingers along the carpet in annoyance. He knew the feel of a ponytail holder from when he used to tie his hair up. He was not pleased when he realized Gold was doing twin-tails and giggling uncontrollably about it.
"S-so what if I am?" Gold chuckled, still controlling the hairstyle. With the way he was laughing, it was a miracle that he hadn't messed up once- a horrible, unreliable miracle.
Just as Silver believed it couldn't get worse, Gold had wrapped a finger around each of his red 'tails now, and that, frankly, is when Silver realized he could not show his face in public later or tomorrow. After a 'lovely' five minutes of Gold's fingers wrapped in his hair and Silver complaining all the while, his wonderful makeover was done.
Pushing Silver over to the mirror, which Gold realized was harder than he though not only taking accidents into account; he then took off and brandished the blindfold with grandeur.
When Silver looked into the mirror, he was shocked to see, to realize, to even expect it was him looking back at him. He had two long, delicately curled ponytails on the backsides of his head. He stared back at his reflection for a few moments, silent in shock.
Gold pulled out a small vial and poured a small amount of its content on the tips of his fingers. He blew the stuff and, soon enough, Silver's hair was sparkling with glitter.
"I-I…You little brat!" Silver growled, getting up from the ground and shaking glitter away from his face. He chased Gold around his house, spitting insults at the boy until he jokingly "fought back." Until Silver went his way, the two just messed around, and Gold had a bit a time trying to figure out if Silver was being serious or not.
And yet, Silver left that day with his hair still up and sparkling.
