A/N: I keep reminding myself, that this is a cheater fic. I was going to end the story with the previous chapter but alas I cannot. I know it has been a long time since I have updated over here, the story was last updated on Feb 11, 2018. Wow, almost two years. I have had serious writer's block on top of other issues. I really have not wanted to write Lemons and it was a struggle doing Thinking Out Loud for FAGE back in Feb 2019, which was the last story I updated over here. Medically and Emotionally I have been drained. But, I am back, I finished school in August 2019 and I am currently looking for a new job. One of my goals from 2020 is to complete/finished at least 3 of my WIPs including Total Eclipse of Two Hearts. I also have a podcast called Let's Get into It with Lettie, link is on my profile. Sue double checked her checklist confirming all of the kids' information such as Seth's allergy to mango and Leah's refusal to eat anything with ranch dressing. Sue plan was to surprise Charlie by coming home for a week without the kids. She's been away for months helping to take care of her great aunt, who survived a stroke. She kissed her kids goodbye and waved to her cousin, who agreed to watch them, as she exited the car. They dropped her off at the airport and after clearing security she had gotten to the gate right on time to board.
All she could think about as she boarded was spending some much needed alone time with her husband. They had not talked in over a week, Sue scowled at the thought, always missing each other's calls. Charlie's messages were always so short, 'just calling to check in' or just a plain 'hey.' It didn't help that her cousin told her that she suspected that he might be stepping out on their marriage. A commotion sounded in the back of the plane turning Sue's thoughts back to the present and away from her dark thoughts of worry.
The situation in the back of the plane got louder; apparently a female passenger didn't care for how another female passenger was eyeing her husband. Curse words were heard from the front of the aircraft. Objects were thrown as the husband struggled to calm his wife down. She was not listening as she turned and slapped him claiming that he liked the attention as the same. By the time the situation had been deescalated by the flight attendants it was time to land. Sue's mind continued to wander to the worst possible outcome for her own marriage. Had she been gone to long? Did one of the single, widowed, or separated women in Forks, try to shoot their shot with her sweet, kind husband?
She knew Charlie, she's known him her whole life. Sometimes he was so naive and trusting. After her husband, Harry Clearwater had died and she was ready to date and connect to another man again; she had remembered how when she was younger she'd had a huge crush on Charlie. At the time, he was best friends with Harry and their friend Billy. Speaking of Billy, Sue was so thankful that he was back in Charlie's life. She was glad that he had a man to confide in and hang out with again.
Sue took an Uber from the airport to her house and made her way to the front porch. She noticed that Charlie's cruiser was in the driveway, "he is never home this early. He must have had a late night" she told herself. Besides her purse she hadn't brought any luggage, not even a carry on. She had borrowed the sexiest, yet; conservative piece of clothing that her cousin had in her closet. She wanted to start this romantic trip with some much needed sexy time. She had been so close to calling Charlie to pick her up from the airport just so she could kiss all over his handsome face. Sue had restrained herself though just so they be in their own bed for their reunion. The thoughts of being in her own bed with her husband arms around her kept her thoughts positive and longing.
Opening the front door, Sue almost tripped over a pair of shoes, "what the fuck? Why are there all these shoes and clothes everywhere? If I didn't know any better I would think that Seth wasn't upstate." She was pissed, the last thing Sue had wanted was to come home and clean. She knew that Charlie had been a bachelor for a long time but she had hoped that he would have at least kept the house somewhat tidy. They had only officially been married for six months as of this week and she wanted to surprise him and make this anniversary special; not yell at him first thing through the door. Sue calmed herself as she begin to pick up the clothes, going through the pockets to make sure that everything was organized on their side table.
She soon realized that there were two wallets and two sets of keys. Just as she went to open the unfamiliar wallet, Sue heard a crash come from upstairs. Dropping everything she ran up the stairs, screaming, "CHARLIE!"
Sue heard whispers as she slowed her speed, 'no' she thought as the door was open. He didn't even have the decency to close their bedroom door.
"How could you do this to me Charlie? To this family?" The words obviously came to both of their ears at the exact same moment. Sue's words cause them both to stop in their sexual relations. Slowly Charlie turns his head to look into the eyes of his wife, Sue Clearwater- Swan.
Modest was not on their side as a pop could be heard before Billy dismounts from Charlie's back side. Sue turns her head in anger.
"Sue…I'm sor…" Charlie begins, but is cut off.
"Don't," she silences him with her stern words. Never looking towards Billy, Sue turns to leave closing the door as she exits into the hallway.
She hears anger whispers as she slowly walks down the hall. Her mind races as she is thankful that she never sold her house in LaPush. As turned to walk the stairs she remember something that her late husband said to her once about Charlie, 'he is a heartbroken man and only once HE returns will the light be back in his eyes.'
Those words finally clicked after all this years. The HE wasn't Charlie but Billy. A tear fell down her cheek as she closed the front door to the house she never planned to set foot in again.
