"Favorite...time of day?"

Kevin eyeballed his new boyfriend curiously and tried not to laugh in his face. After a near life time of growing up together, he could have sworn that they knew everything about each other, but after Kevin asked him out, Edd insisted that they get to know each other better. The high school juniors didn't spend as much time together growing up as they did now, so there was plenty that they didn't know about each other.

Thus, the game of favorites.

It would start off innocuous enough. Favorite foods and classes at school, movies and TV shows, types of music and books. They always avoided the easy questions about colors or things to do because it should have been obvious by now.

So they got creative.

Kevin's favorite time of year is the spring. The weather is finally warm enough to go play. Edd prefers the fall. As the weather cools, and life outside starts to die away, school begins and his time of learning something new can begin again.

But time of day?

His mind went blank so he simply giggled and said, "Guess!," in the hopes of throwing Edd off enough to formulate an answer of some sort.

Edd pursed his lips thoughtfully and tapped his chin before grinning.

"Sunday mornings."

And until Edd had said those two simple words, he could give shit all about Sunday mornings. But now, standing in Edd's pristine kitchen, his favorite breakfast spread out on the kitchen island, on this bright, but bitterly cold winter Sunday morning, he could honestly say that Sunday mornings were his favorite because he got to spend them with Edd. It was the one time of day where they could just be together and since he started to fall for his beanie clad neighbor, just getting to spend time with him was all Kevin could ever want.

"Yeah, you got me," he said as the smart Ed squealed in delight at his new found piece of knowledge. "It's my favorite."

And his favorite color sparkled at him as Edd grinned.

"Same."
