"And so he suddenly said one day to me, 'want to come to a party? Bring a friend.'" Emily sighed, pulling another dress from the rack and tossing in into the cart that Scarlet was leaning against, listening to her friend.

"Mhm," Scarlet hummed, picking up the dress that Emily had just tossed into the cart. "Are you choosing this for me or you? You know neither of us look good in green." Emily frowned at the dress before shrugging.

"I don't know. I kinda just thought the shape was nice for either of us." She resumed in shuffling through the racks. "But anyway, I said sure, and then said that I'd bring along a friend. And then he said it was fine as long as you had a ride home." Scarlet grimaced at her friend's story.

"What is he? Werewolf? Elf? Fairy, like you?" She ran her hands over a skin-tight black dress with spaghetti straps.

"Elf. the one from the cafe. Oh, that's a cute dress. Put that one in the pot." The pot was the cart. They had thrown all the possible dresses that they might wear into it, planning on trying them out later. They had hit the mall a day prior to the party, Emily with her uncle's money, and her uncle was a billionaire, and Scarlet with Ayato's and Kanato's. It was the morning still, and they were deciding on dresses before they moved onto shoes and accessories.

"Elf? So he did end giving you his number. Oh, fairy and elf is always a sexy match." Scarlet grinned at Emily, teasing. "You, my friend, are set for life if you fuck an elf. They're immortal too, like fairies and vampires." Emily rolled her eyes.

"Or if they're some mutated thing like you, too, hmm, Scarlet?" Emily threw one last pastel pink dress into the cart and let out a breath. "Okay, that's the last one. Let's get to the dressing rooms." Scarlet obliged, turning the cart around.

They stepped into the dressing rooms, and the conversation was dropped, focused primarily on outfit choosing. After all, elves had always been a hard bunch to impress. Both of them know that.

"Hey, Scarlet what do you think about this one?" Emily twirled around to face Scarlet, clad in a light blue dress, hugging her torso, with a strung back and reached down to right above her knees. Scarlet contemplated a bit.

"Depends. Are you going with a glamor?"

"No." Emily wrinkled her nose, scrunching up her features. They only wore glamors around humans. "Should I remove it just for now?" Scarlet nodded. Emily obliged, allowing bright blue eyes with flecks of gold and silver decorating her irises show, along with fair, pale skin to show. Fairies were nowhere near as pale as vampires, but their skin was still paler than normal.

"Bel, Mademoiselle," Scarlet praised, French seeming to be an appropriate language for the occasion. "It brings out your eyes." Emily grinned, taking it off carefully.

"I'll take this one," She said, hanging it back up, turning to Scarlet. "Your turn. Let me see that black dress on you once more."

Yui sat in her bed, alone and exhausted. It had become quite clear that the only thing keeping Ayato or any of the triplets reigned in was Scarlet, and with her gone, Yui was subjected to a night's worth of terror.

"Oi, chichinashi!" Yui jumped at Ayato's voice, spinning around to see him. He was standing at the foot of her bed, mouth a cross between a smirk and a sneer. Her heartbeat thumped in her ears.

"A-Ayato-kun…" Her voice trailed off uncertainly. "Did you need something…?" As soon as she spoke, his eyes narrowed, glinting a beautifully terrifying green. He was on her bed in an instant, knocking her over, hands pinning her wrists down and mouth almost touching the skin on her neck. Yui gasped at the impact.

"I'm thirsty," He said, "Shut up and let me drink." As his fangs dug into Yui neck, drawing blood, she choked down a sob, remembering what she promised her sister years ago. Her body grew light, losing feeling as blood was drained from her body.

"Be strong, Yui. Be strong, because the worse has yet to come."

If this wasn't the worst, what was?

Suddenly, she was aware that Ayato had pulled away, and was instead looking out her balcony door, eyes narrowed.

"Ayato-kun?" She asked weakly, drained of energy. He looked down at her, before getting off her entirely, stalking towards her window. In a sudden blast of motion, he swung open her door, leaping out into the night. A crash and a demonic screech made Yui bolt to the door, head swaying.

Ayato was fighting. Fangs bared and snarling, attacking the demonic creature that was there. Yui felt her knees shake before she fell, out of blood loss and horror. She would have hit the floor, but cold hands stopped her. She let out a gasp.

"Not feeling so good today, Bitch-chan?" Laito chuckled as he set her upright, eyes trained on his brother the whole time. Yui didn't say anything, choosing to watch instead. She stifled a scream as Ayato was thrown into a rose bush, only to watch as he launched off it, smashing the demon's head into the stone paving, the sound of bone and stone cracking ringing out into the morning.

The demon lay still. Ayato scoffed, turning away from it and pulling leaves off his jacket and out of his hair. He glanced up at Laito, jerking his head in a way that the human couldn't see. Laito nodded. Yui couldn't pull her eyes away from the body of the demon, the reality of her situation hitting her suddenly.

Then, pink eyes rolled back and she fell, unknowingly expecting Scarlet to be there to catch her.

Scarlet pointed at Emily with her pizza slice, chewing slowly before smiling and speaking. "You, my friend, are demonic." Emily smiled sweetly.

"I'm only half," She told her friend solemnly, "I'm also half angel." They grinned at each other. They were sitting at the food court of the mall, Scarlet chewing on pizza and Emily eating noodles. They had been talking about their plan at the party.

Emily made a face as she looked at Scarlet's pizza that was jabbed at her face. "I never understand how Americans eat that crappy oily food." Scarlet rolled her eyes, sticking her tongue out.

"I'm not American," She pointed out. "And this pizza isn't that oily. It was made by an Italian-" She twisted around in her seat to look at the seller of the pizza. "Werewolf? I think. Otherwise, he's a pretty troll."

"I never said you were American," Emily responded, "And I never said I was talking about your pizza. I was talking about American pizza." She stood, dropping her disposable chopsticks onto the tray and picking her phone up. Scarlet followed her example, swallowing the last of the pizza and moving to dump her trash.

"Sure," Scarlet laughed, "Whatever you say. Coffee? I'm dying for caffine. Of any kind." Emily grimaced at Scarlet.

"Another thing you're absolutely crazy about. Coffee." She rolled her eyes as Scarlet laughed, gathering the various bags that were on the table.

And they walked, continuing their friendly banter and not noticing the looks they drew. From love-struck boys whose hearts they could break, from jealous sisters and singles, from the inhuman, out of curiosity, but most importantly, from the familiar that watched Scarlet Silver from the shadows.

To all though, they were undoubtedly glorious.
