I was exhausted, and because of that I almost didn't notice, almost. Sasuke was about to jump in front of me, probably to take an attack that I wouldn't be able to dodge. Just as he jumped in front of me I performed the replacement technique, immediately I was bombarded with those ice needles.

I fell to the ground, Sasuke was looking over me.

"Why didn't you let me take the hit?" He asked, his expression that of misery, one I had never seen on his face before,

"No way was I gonna let you die… Become Hokage … fo…r …m…e" My voice trialed off I didn't have the energy to continue.

As the light escaped my vision I heard him yell.

"AMATERASU!"

I knew no more.

AN: Rather short I'm aware. Anyways Kishimoto always said that he kept Naruto and Sasuke on evil power levels. If Naruto got strong so did Sasuke, and if Sasuke got stronger so did Naruto. So what would happen if Naruto died in front of Sasuke, well Sasuke would get the Mengekyo Sharingan, which should result in Naruto getting stronger that much faster.
