The sound of a motorcycle roaring around the wreckage of a few unfortunate VW Beetles confused Eve for a moment before the vehicle came into view through the dust cloud, swerving onto the tracks in pursuit of the train.

"What the hell is that now?" M's voice came over her earpiece.

"That would be me," a new voice cracked through the coms. "I just happened to be in the area and figured I should help out."

"Who the hell are you? And how did you gain access to this line? It's supposed to be secure!" M demanded.

"Smithers, from Q branch, patched me in," he explained succinctly. "I'm Alex Rider, at your service."

"Contact Q branch—" M addressed Tanner.

"Already on it," he answered, ear to a telephone. A few seconds later he addressed M, "Yes, I'm talking to Smithers, he says Rider's legit. Just happened to be there apparently…"

"How can we not have known there was already an agent in the area?"

"Oh—He's Blunt's."

"Ah."

The sound of gunfire brought attention back toward the more pressing situation at hand.

"007 Report."

"Still in pursuit."

"I'm going to run out of road soon," Moneypenny said.

"Oh look, someone left the backdoor open for me," Alex mumbled. "I'm almost on the train," he said, louder. "007 about how far along are you?"

"Sixth car from the end." Bond

"Holy—!" Moneypenny

"TADA! Be there in a moment 007." Rider

"What are you planning to do, Rider?" M

"Oh, you know…little of this…little of that…AhHA! gotcha." Rider

"I'm out of road. They're going into a tunnel, I'm going to loose them." Moneypenny

"Do you have a shot?" M

"Maybe. It's not clean." Moneypenny

"Hang on! Give me a moment, sheesh." Rider. "We don't need to go shooting people yet."

Alex popped up between the cars and saw two men fighting. "Alright, which one of you's 007?"

"Grey suit."

Agent identified, Alex pulled out his handgun and carefully lined up a shot on his moving target.

"Down."

Bond dropped, knowing what the fellow agent was doing having glimpsed his position. The shot rang out a fraction of a second later and the fight was over.

"What was that—!"

"Agent down—!"

"Oh shut up, I'm fine," Bond said as he pulled himself off the ground. The train began slowing, and eventually stopped before the agents could disappear beneath the tunnel. Bond retrieved the hardrive from the now dead man, and secured it to his person. He then walked over to the other agent.

"Agent Rider."

"007."

"Bond. James Bond."

"Agent Bond, then." They shook hands.

"Thanks for the help."

"Least I could do. My mission was dreadfully boring anyway. I needed a little something to get the blood pumping."
