"Well," Bilbo suddenly appeared next to you and you jumped.

"Bilbo! You scared me!"

"Well. Well. Well," he rocked back on his heels.

"Well, what?"

He didn't say another word, just made a face and looked pointedly at Thorin, then back to you. He repeated this look several times, rapidly.

"I have no idea what you're doing. Are you alright?"

"Fine! Fine, fine,fine, fine, fine."

"That's a lot of fine's, Bilbo."

"I'm going to go get something to eat."

"Ooookay."

You followed the hobbit over to the fire, where Bombur was serving up some sort of stew. You hoped this one had meat in it, you were absolutely sick of potatoes.

"Hey Kili, did you catch any rabbits today?"

"He caught something all right!" Bofur called, breaking the strange tension about the camp, "Didn't know you were so talented, Y/N!"

"I… what? What in the world are you talking about?"

"No need to bemodest," Nori winked at you, his tone dripping with insinuation.

"I'm not being modest, just confused… Kili, are you okay?"

Kili was looking straight down and seemed to be trying to cover his ears with his shoulders.

"FINE," he yelped at a pitch usually reserved for overexcited birds. He held his bowl out without looking and, without waiting for a full serving, sprinted away.

"What was that about?" you sat next to Bilbo around the fire.

The others were actingsostrangely. Kili seemed fascinated with his boots, which he hadn't looked away from in quite some time. Dori kept looking at you and shaking his head disapprovingly, which wasn't unusual, but he had been covering Ori's ears all evening and the young dwarf honestly did not seem to mind. The others looked at you with a strange mix of curiosity, awe, and shock before they turned back to their suppers. You even got a handful of winks and pointed, silent applause from Nori.

"Oh, I don't know, probably has something to do with you and Thorin," the hobbit said mockingly, like it was obvious.

"What about us?"

"It wasquitea performance, let me tell you," Nori quipped. Kili made a small, strangled sound and covered his ears. Dori, who had become Ori's living earmuffs, glared at his brother.

"If you ever want to takemeinto the woods, lass," Bofur said, grinning, "I'll beright here. Ready and willing."

The company laughed and you looked to Bilbo again, confused. He rolled his eyes and inclined his head toward your leader. Thorin was sitting across the camp, hair unkempt, partially undressed with his remaining clothes askew, a bit pink, smiling goofily, completely relaxed and OH MY GOD THEY THOUGHT YOU'D SLEPT TOGETHER.

You dropped your stew and gaped, turning to Bilbo.

"You think that I– You think thatwe–"

"We all saw thefunnyway Thorin was walking when you got back. Not to mention everything poor Kili heard in the woods."

"What Kili– oh no, Kili!"

"And then what everyone else heard when he came racing back terrified, and they all went to hear for themselves."

"It wasn't that! I just… I'm just really good at massages, that's all!"

"Massages."

"Yes!"

"Really."

"Really! I was only trying to help!"

"Well, from what I heard, you helped quite a bit."

"Oh god," your face fell into your hands, mortified.

"That sounds about right."

"Oh, shut up. I've got to talk to Thorin."

"Thorin."

"Y/N," he was still sporting a little relaxed, goofy smile while almost sprawled against a tree. Dwalin, who had previously been conversing with the eerily calm dwarf king, cleared his throat and got up. He gave Thorin a look. The two had known each other for so long that all you could do was wait as they had a silent conversation right in front of you.

"Goodnight, Y/N," Dwalin said with a smile and sauntered back to the fire, whistling.

"'Night," you called and waited for him to be out of earshot before you rounded on Thorin.

"Thorin, the company, they think that– they think that you and I, that we–"

"Yes?"

"They think that we,you know… oh, I don't even know how to talk about this!"

"They think that you and I had sex," he was smiling. Why was he smiling?

"…Yes."

"Because of me."

"…Also yes."

"Well, you neglected to tell me to be quiet," he laughed a bit, "I also did not know I was capable of such sounds."

"Neither did I!" you laughed nervously then sighed, "Thorin, what should we do?"

"About what, exactly?" His head lolled to his shoulder.

"About the company. We can't just let them go on thinking that we had– that we were intimate."

"We can't?"

He'd gone crazy. That was it. You'd snapped some nerve in his neck and he had gone completely insane.

"Thorin. You really– We can't just– I don't know what to– They keep–," your thoughts bounced against your brain like a panicked fly against a window, desperately looking for a way out. What in the world was he saying?

"I do not mind."

"Mind?"

"Mind them thinking that we've been intimate."

"…What."

He sighed and stood, languidly.

"Even if we tell the company the truth, they're likely to believe whatever they want to believe. Which, as I've been informed, is that you and I have become lovers. Or at least, that you've made me yours. That you've 'tamed' me, as Dwalin put it," he said it all so casually but his eyes betrayed him, burning something fierce, "And I can't say that it isn't true."

You opened your mouth to retort and foundnothing. You made a series of confused faces at him, all the while trying to wrap your brain about what he had just said.

"Are you alright?" He chuckled.

"Made you mine?! Tamed you?!What are you talking about? I gave you amassage. I was trying to heal you! There was nothing… romantic orsexualabout it. At all."

"Wasn't there?"

Oh, you have no idea, the little voice in your head growled and you blushed madly. Thorin's smile slowly turned into a smirk and his eyes danced along your form. He moved toward you and you backed up, reflexively, until you bumped against a tree. He took your hand again, turning it over in both of his.

"Doesn't seem fair that you got to hear so much of me, while I heard nothing of you."

"Yes, well, I'm not a very, uh… loud person."

"I'm sure I can fix that."

Oh, I'm sure you can, you dirty little–you tried to calm the voice in your head, but it was straight monologuing, offering up a slew of suggestions for Thorin. You held your mouth shut, lest any of it slip out.

He still had your hand and looked up at you from beneath very heavy lids. You couldn't speak. He brought the hand to his lips and just barely made contact. This certainly wasn't the gesture of thanks it had been before. You inhaled as a shiver ran through you.

"Shall I continue?" He spoke heavily, his breath hot against your skin as he mimicked your question for consent. You nodded and swallowed, suddenly aware of how dry your mouth had become. He smiled and gently kissed the back of your hand again, then turned it to kiss your palm, then your wrist. He looked up at you from where his lips were pressed against your racing pulse, letting his tongue swipe across the now tingling skin. Your mouth fell open.

He took your wrist gently in one hand and stepped forward, pinning it palm forward against the tree next to your head. His other hand fell to your hip, rubbing small circles with his thumb. He brought his face close, grazing his nose and cheek along yours, his lips almost, but not quite, touching yours. You felt yourself moving forward against him, aching to end this positivelywonderfultorture. He made burning eye contact and the hand against your hip suddenly stopped its gentle circles to grip you, forcefully. You reacted, gasping, and all at once his mouth was on yours. Bright lights exploded in your brain and the dark little voice cheered. You let out an excited whimper and felt his lips quirk up into a smile. He pulled away slightly.

"That'sa new sound," he chuckled, nipping at your bottom lip, "but I'm certain you can do better."

His lips moved lightly across yours and you leaned forward again, desperate for more contact. He smiled and moved from your mouth, kissing gently along your jaw toward your ear. Your vision was blurred and dizzy but you just made out the camp over his shoulder. And started slightly. As far as you could tell they hadn't noticed what was going on.

"Thorin," you whispered, "the– thecompany. If they see–"

"If you are going to say my name, I wish for it to be because of what I am doing," his voice had gone husky and his kisses heated and eager, teeth and tongue emerging as he worked his way down your neck. Your worries flew from your mind as he sucked gently at your pulse. Your free hand shot up to the back of his neck, pulling him closer. He was still covered in oil, you noticed, and you smiled, more than a bit pleased. Your pinned hand writhed against the tree, rough bark scrapping against skin deliciously. A low moan escaped and Thorin reacted, sliding his hand from your wrist to your palm. He wove his fingers between yours before pinning you again. His other hand grabbed at your hip and backside, pulling you tight against him and the growing hardness in his trousers.

Well. Seems you were both enjoying yourselves.

"Thorin," you sighed, letting your head fall back against the tree as you grabbed at his hair.

"Louder," he growled and bit down gently on your neck.

"A-Ah!" your leg moved involuntarily, hitching around his hip. He grabbed at your thigh, pulling you in and grinding against you.

"My. Name. Louder.Now."

The voice in your head urged you to disobey, to make him keep doing this. To see how far he would go. Maybe give him an orderright back. But he bit down again, harder.

"TH– THORIN!"

Your voice seemed to echo across the camp.

"OH MAHAL. NO NO STOP NO NO NO." You heard panicked shouting and looked out to see a Kili shaped blur race out of camp. You'd certainly gotten their attention now.

"Oh my god," you dropped your leg and pulled your hand from Thorin's. You ducked down, mortified. A cacophony of hooting and hollering followed, yet Thorin still held you, head against your shoulder, breathing heavily.

"Why don't you give him a rest, eh Y/N?"

"Completely inappropriate. Ori, stop looking!"

"'Massage', my left buttock!"

You moved to leave, but were still trapped between a king and a tree. Thorin gripped your hip again.

"Better. Definitely more of what I had in mind," he kissed at your shoulder softly and lifted his head. He was grinning, though he had the decency to look a little bit embarrassed,"And I apologize, seems I lost all sense of decorum."

Your panic quickly melted and you broke for the second time that day, giggling madly. Again the king joined you, but this time you cut him off with a kiss.

"More privacy.Now," you ordered softly.

"Right," he grabbed your hand and pulled you along behind him toward the trees.

"The company!" you laughed, gesturing to the group.

Without stopping, he turned back to the camp to bellow, "Cover your ears!"
