Britain sighed as he put his hand on top of Americas,

"Hang on for a little bit longer he'll be here soon" he begged the ailing nation who looked at him and weakly nodded

No sooner had this been said did the door to the room open and Canada ran in his polar bear close behind taking his brothers other hand into his own

"I'm here Alfred" he gently said trying to hold back tears as his brother looked to him with dull eyes that once held so much life,

"I am sorry, that I can't stay" he managed to whisper voice cracked from not being used

"No don't be Alfred this isn't your fault it's" Canada choked up on the words

"It's my peoples I know, and I have grown weary because of it and I feel myself growing weaker and I know soon I will be gone" his brother finished for him

Canada at this was unable to hold back the tears as he began to cry, he felt his brother reach up and cup his face with a shaking hand barely able to hold it up wiping the tears away with a thumb Mattie held the hand close

"Shh Mattie soon, I will be with mother again and you'll have another brother a successor to me of whatever becomes of what once was me please Mattie don't cry I don't want my last memory to be one of sadness"

Mattie sniffled, Alfred looked at him with sadness

"Mattie I am so weary I am beyond exhausted and my people they grow more apart every day, I feel like I am being torn apart from the inside every fiber of my being screams out in pain, but please take care of my people the ones who actually wanted a life of peace, a life free from being persecuted please take those ones in and please take care of them "

Canada nodded tears in his eyes America turned his head to look at Britain

"Take care of Mattie please, I don't ever want him to be overshadowed again, and please do the same as I asked Mattie I feel so many of my people who just wanted to live a normal life who are now absolutely scared of stepping outside their homes they just want somewhere which will be peaceful"

Britain nodded and for once smiled a genuine smile

"Of course Alfred and I promise they will never forget the good things your country did for the world"

America gave a soft chuckle, his eyes slowly closing

"Who knew that you would outlive me huh?"

At this America suddenly saw his beloved mother and Davy standing side by side along with all the people he had loved like family over the centuries from George Washington to Amelia Earhart they all looked at him with soft smiles as his mother held her hand out

"Come my son you can rest now and be at peace with us my Soaring Eagle" she gently said he understood what she meant as he reached out with a weak hand to grasp hers, to Britain and Canada it looked like he was reaching for nothing but as soon as his hand fell through hers his chest ceased rising and falling and he became still his eyes finally slipping closed, finally at Peace.
