I don't own Harry Potter or Star Wars the Old Republic this is a fanfiction only.
Corso looked at you with a radiant smile, and you can probably hear the laughter in his mind. "As lovely as this is Captain, we can't sit on our laurels, we need to do our part too. Come on, Mel here can go to his own contacts in law enforcement and make like difficult for Skavak, while you and I meet with Darmas to see if he obtained any new information?"
Mel looked at me and nodded his head, he agreed to use his access to the security databases, and alert planetary security about Skavak, that would take some time but in the end, it could only help us capture the lying crook.
As we returned to the bar we saw that some people were waiting for us. What struck me as odd was that one of them had a symbol from a clan that had close ties with my own. Clan Vizla and Clan Spar had been loyal to each other, to call us the eternal allies would be correct, mother often said that several young ladies in Clan Vizla actually sent petitions to form a formal marriage contract.
After what happened to Akaavi, you could pretty much say I am not a big fan of those marriage contracts. "Looks like you been waiting for me, sorry for the wait vod, but I had to take care of a situation that simply could not wait, so what do I owe the honor of meeting with a member of the Vizla clan?"
He looked at me and then at the two beside him, "We have been waiting to find a bounty target, you must be the captain that stole a whole pile of blasters from Rogun the Butcher. The real question is how do you know I am from Clan Vizla? Are you going to make this easy and surrender or are we going to have to get violent?"
I began shaking my head as soon as I heard that last part, the twitchy person next to him looked like he was anxious for the situation to become a fight, pyrotech by the looks of it. "I guess I should introduce myself, it causes me no small amount of pain, but I will do as I must, I am Harry James Spar, I am one of the last surviving members of Clan Spar. I know your clan symbol since your clan and mine have been unquestionable allies for centuries."
The guy that was playing with his flame thrower looked like he didn't care. The lady near him was getting impatient. "Look, I don't care what you are playing at, I thought Mandos were more into action and were not all talk. How about we bake this fool and get our credits, the guy is a crook, I don't feel bad in burning a thief like him till he is ashes."
"I did not steal anything, on my clan's honor, I went to deliver the blasters to the agreed planet. The man who was supposed to sign the forms and receive them to place in storage was a man named Skavak, he stole my ship and all the cargo inside, which of course included the blasters Rogun ordered."
Once I mentioned the name of that bastard that stole my ship the lady in their group began to glare and she looked like I mentioned a name that she never wanted to hear again, "I know that name, you remember him too don't you lover? He was the one that invited us to a drink and ended up taking all our credits and weapons. We had to wash toilets for a month to pay the tab he placed on our names. I say the Captain here is not worth chasing, Skavak is."
The flame thrower loving idiot looked at her, "How much? How is Skavak a better target than this fool and why aren't we killing this fool?" He looked at the angry face of her lover and then at the idiot, she told them to turn in my bounty they could vacation on a beach resort, turn in the bounties on Skavak and they could buy the resort and the beach and have more credits than they could spend in five lifetimes.
"I am not going to do this just for credits, this hut'uun has tarnished the honor of an ally of my clan. Harry of Clan Spar, Vi oya'karir ti gar, vi Kelir gratiir ibac hut'uun tome." It was nice to hear a language that had so much meaning to me. I could not help but to touch my closed fist to my armor right where my heart would be. "Vor entye, vod"
"So when we have a clue where the bastard is the captain will send you the location. I would start looking with the Justicars. They are one of the gangs that control an entire sector if anyone knows where to find that lying bastard, it would be them."
I hate to say it, but Corso is right, the Justicars are pretty good in keeping an eye on criminal activity, not because they are committed to stopping crime, no, because doing so could provide them with the information they could use to their benefit.
As we left and got aboard the speeder, Corso began to look at me with this strange look. "You got anything to say, Corso, you might as well tell me. We got a long ride till we reach the sector that the Justicars control."
He looked at me and then at the speeder and finally I just focused on what I would do, "So after you rebuild your clan do you plan to go back to work for the Empire?" Well, that is a question I think I already answered guess deep down Corso still is not sure about it.
"Corso they betrayed my family, my clan, what makes you think they will not do it again? Or that they will not do it to other Mandalorians when it suits the whims of a Sith? I will not deny that they do in fact provide some rather lucrative contracts, but I can't put my own financial success ahead of the well-being of my people, that is simply not how Mandalorians do things."
"To make you feel at ease, no I don't plan to go back to the Empire, I do however plan to take every bit of evidence I find that the Empire betrayed and wrongfully killed my clan and take that to Mand'alor, make no mistake about it, he will know, and then Mand'alore will more than likely take the issue up with the Empire, or he will simply see that our people can do better on our own than being under the thumb of a group that so readily betrayed our kind."
He let out a sigh, "I am sorry Captain, it is just, sometimes you speak so highly of the Empire, it makes me believe that deep down you really want to return there. I know it is as crazy as if I wanted to join the Seps, but I worry about that sometimes, thank you for hearing me out and telling me your plans."
As we landed I could not help but to laugh, "Corso, you are a member of my crew and my friend, we can always talk about things that trouble us, it is better, in the long run, to know we can trust each other, or else we would end up like Skavak and let's face it, nobody wants to end up like him."
I got to say one thing about the sector as we began to walk towards the main entrance into the sector, it was clean, I mean hospital bay clean, and with the Justicar members walking around armed and pretty much looking for any chance for a fight, for some reason this made me feel relaxed. As we got to the entrance one of them looked at me, "State your business for the record."
I looked at her and could not help but to smile, "I am here to hunt down a bastard that stole my ship. Now the person who I very much plan to kill is named Skavak, and I happen to know he is doing something in this sector, are we going to have a problem?"
She looked at me and then at Corso, glaring at Corso for some unknown reason. "Well you see, we might have a problem, my superiors told me to be on the lookout for an idiot pretending to be a Mandalorian, and his gay lover, and kill them on sight, we all been told that so yea, we might have a problem."
I immediately touched my pistols and got a set of incendiary spells loaded, the thing about loading that kind of spells they tend to make the pistol a whole lot more menacing when you load them and do not fire them immediately. "So Skavak still calls me a pretender but not only that gay too, excuse me, Miss, I have just one question, do the Justicars get a discount on funerals?"
It was no surprise to Corso that I was this angry, he should know by now that nothing triggers my worse rage more than being told I am a pretender. I consider that an insult to my clan and to all those people I lost and loved dearly.
"We get free funerals when we sign up, why do you ask?" I took my pistols and shot her partner right between the eyes, the idiot did not expect that and burned to ashes right there and then. "Cause I don't intend to leave much for them to bury when I get done with you and every idiot that as much as looks at me funny, make no mistake Lady, you never, ever, insult a Mandalorian by calling him a pretender!"
The second I finished she simply said thank you for telling her and took off running like her life depended on it, too bad she doesn't run faster than a shot fired by a blaster, one shot later both idiots are gone, every person looked at me with this look of utter dread, and they gave me plenty of personal space.
I am not kidding, every Justicar so far either ran away begging for their lives or pretended he or she didn't even see me. I installed some sensors for a cop, took copies of a few ships manifests to a member of the SIS and even manage to track down the parent of a little girl who got separated when she was shopping for groceries.
Sure didn't help that the kid's mother was a Justicar, but as soon as I reunited both of them they both thanked me, and the mother told me that there was a cop also looking for Skavak and he was in the detention and interrogation center. She even gave me a device to let everyone think I was a friend of the Justicars, who knew they had Friend or Foe beacons strapped to their belts?
As soon as I went inside I saw that this detention center was huge, and I mean massive, I been in a cell once when I got in a little trouble way back when I was a teenager, I got drunk someone insulted my mother and well I ended up getting into this massive bar brawl. I knocked out ten idiots by the time dad showed up, not bad for a fifteen-year-old.
As I walked near one of the cells, "Hey you, yea, you, you are that Captain that got ripped off by Skavak aren't you?" Who is this guy? And why is he dumb enough to actually scream that when we are practically surrounded by Justicars, did he forget that these guys were pretty much tricked by Skavak to kill me? Or is it that the idiot simply doesn't know?
It is official the idiot simply did not know, he was getting information about where Skavak was in a bar, no kidding, a kid no older than sixteen was asking questions in a bar, brings a tear to the eye. They grow up so fast, "So you learned where Skavak is while getting drunk, and the only reason these idiots threw you in here is because of a curfew violation? Alright move back, I will get you out of there."
I ripped off the panel and began to work on the wiring, "Yea, they didn't care they sold me booze at all, they sure were angry about the curfew violation, and Skavak is in a place not even they go, the place where all the machinery that powers and maintain our planet is, or some call it droid hell, or the Works."
"You must be insane to go down there Cloudhead, I wouldn't go down there for nothing in the universe, thanks for setting me free, my sister is going to rip me a new one when I tell her a Cloudhead ended up saving me."
He just left why do I feel this Cloudhead business was an insult, well the kid looks like they beat him pretty bad, no reason to give him yet another beating, then again he probably doesn't know any better. A brat just being a brat.
As I walked to the next cell I looked in and began to smack my fist against the force field, "Hey Mel, you alive in there?"
