He's back who missed him? I don't! Actually I do miss writing in Soichi's perspective. It'll take some time to find my stride again but I'll get it eventually. I have a lot of cool stuff that I want to write about. Atlas is going to be so amazing. Anyways how's the pandemic going?
Soichi is locked up in a cell with his head behind some sort of restraining helmet. He is strapped onto a metal table and dozens of needles pierce his arms and legs. Some needles were injecting strange liquid into him while the rest seems to draw blood from the boy. Soichi is awake and knows what is happening to him, but he remains calm.
From the other side of a camera, a group of scientists and soldiers observe the boy while conversing. The room has multiple screens showing different angles of Soichi and strange formulas and data. The door to the room opens and a woman enters making the Atlas soldiers standing on guard salute her.
"At ease." The woman says and the soldiers return to being on the alert.
"General Wolphat." An unpleasant scientist with a hunched back approaches the stoic face woman.
"Speak." The new general commands the scientist.
"He is incredible! He's exactly what we could have asked for! With this reanimation will soon become a thing." The scientist tells her.
"Vincent Frankenstein." Wolphat calls and the scientist crazy face turn to a concern one. "It took me great lengths to clear your charges. Your research must come to fruition."
"Yes, general. We will use my knowledge and purge the world of Grimms." Vincent says and he gestures the general to follow him. "He has an amazing regenerative ability. Actually, it would be a mistake to say he is regenerating. It's more of a recovery. Everything harmful we do to his body will just be purged and he will return to normal. We're still in the process of analyzing how his heart became a Grimm's heart. There's not much result but we will figure it out eventually."
"How do we control him?" Wolphat asks and the scientist seems nervous. "How. Do. We. Control. Him?"
"That's the problem... He seems to be resistant to mind control."
"Doctor... I believe I asked for you to find a way to weaponize him. Here I am and you are telling me you have nothing to show me?" Wolphat says and the guards next to her point their guns at the doctor.
"Wait! Wait! I have a solution. We can put a timed virus inside of him and threaten him with it."
"You have just said nothing will control him," Wolphat says and the soldiers tighten their grip on the trigger. Vincent takes out a capsule that is presumably the virus.
"He should value his life right? Just let me try and use this." Vincent says and the general does not respond. Tension grows higher and the doctor starts to sweat more. Before anything can escalate the general takes the virus out of his hands. The soldiers lower their guns and follow her out of the room. As she leaves the room a small robotic spider is seen crawling into a small vent.
HEY ALL BITCHES! YA FUCKING MISSED ME!? I'M FINALLY OUT OF MY FUCKING HELL HOLE! REPORTING LIVE INSIDE OF A FUCKING INTERROGATION ROOM! Though seriously, I'm screw. I'm pretty much dead. After we landed, we were suddenly attacked by Grimms. We took some vehicles the ship carried and travel to Mantle only to be stopped by a wall. They came out and said I'm a decorated war criminal. Yada yada yada! You know what happened. Of course, you know what happened. You read what happened. Unless you didn't then why the fuck are you still here?
The door opens and I watch two special operations soldiers walk into the small room. Like these are spec ops and not the type of special Cordovin is. They didn't intimidate me as I stare them down and see if there is a way to disarm them and break out. Though there isn't any opening I can find cause you know... They're special ops. A woman enters the room and she closes the door gently.
"Hello." I greeted her and she doesn't seem to be happy. "Nice to meet you. I'm Soichi Inzerillo and will you be my best fwiend?" I said and snicker. She nods at one of the soldiers and he quickly goes over to me, grabs my head, and slams it into the metal table. "Oh! You ever heard of a warm welcome?" I ask as the pain subsides. She nods again and I brace myself as the soldier punches my beautiful face. Then he slams it into the table again and pulls out a knife. "Damn that small ass thing? I almost mistook it for your penis." I insulted him and he seems to be hurt. The soldier didn't wait for a signal and puts the knife into my mouth. The other soldier takes out a gun and shoots the soldier holding a knife in my mouth.
"My apologies," The lady says and takes a seat across from me. I watch the dead soldier on the ground and think maybe I went too far. "How are you?" She asks and grins. Now let me tell you this. You don't wanna see an old hag grin. It's fucking disturbing.
"If we ignore the fact that someone next to me died, then I'm doing dandy," I tell her and the grin on her face disappears.
"I know everything about you." She tells me and then takes out a scroll. The scroll turns on and she puts it on the table for me to look at. My eyes widen as I see my entire profile written out and I see the different identities I took over the years I was an assassin. I became nervous and I have nothing clever to say. "You're a smart boy."
"Yep," I tell her and she did not seem happy that I talk out of line.
"Work for me."
"No," I answer her without a second thought. Then she slams a vial onto the table which causes me to almost jump out of my seat.
"You don't have a choice." She says and then the soldier takes out a syringe. He fills it up with the liquid and injects me with it. I try to struggle, but it is hard when my legs and arms are cuffed. He pierces the needle into my neck and I feel sick as the foreign material enters my body. I thought it should be fine because the Dragon Grimm got my back cover. "You must be thinking your body is immune to anything."
"It should be," I answer her.
"Then try. Use your powers on me and break free." She tells me and I think about what would happen if I do. I would have done it if the fact that Ruby, Weiss, and the others might get into trouble. I show my defiance by sitting back in the chair and relaxing. Like I am chilling and it is going to be great. "Your friends... Would you like to know what happened to them?"
"You wouldn't do anything to them," I call her out on her bullshit. They would get in deep trouble with the public if something were to happen to Weiss. I really don't think they should test the Schnee Dust Company like that.
"Are you sure about that? Things have changed a lot in Atlas. We're now holding public executions. The streets of Mantle is getting restless. Maybe a stray Hunter or two decides to take their anger out on them. Or are they still out in the tundra? Shivering and starving as Grimms surround them." The lady says and I try to not let it get under my skin. But she is really good at getting under my skin. She fills my head with paranoia and I start letting my anger get control of me.
"What did you do!" I shout and I try to break free from my position but I don't have the strength.
"Would you like me to show you their wretched state?" She asks and I scream. Knowing that my current strength is not enough, I decide to borrow power from the Dragon Grimm. My pupils change and she is not the least bit surprised at all. I pull my left hand free and I start working on my right hand but suddenly I can't move.
"Abnormal condition detected. Releasing toxins." I hear a robotic voice say. My entire body freezes and I notice my veins turn purple. It was as if my blood was replaced with hard lard. Then my oxygen supply got caught off and I begin to choke. The Dragon Grimm roars and I know he is telling me that we are going to die if this continues. Something strong is attacking me at the heart and it is probably the liquid I was injected with. The lady picks up her scroll and presses a button. My veins return to normal and I can breathe once more.
"Do you understand your condition now?" She asks me and I start gasping for air. There is no way I can defy her now. "I will enjoy working together," Shey says as she gets up and opens the door. "I now understand how valuable they are to you." She says and I slam the table. I lost my cool and I endanger everyone once again.
"Thank you!" A Mistralian thanks team RWBY and team ORNJ then he crosses the street. Ruby waves him off and then looks sad. The girl looks at Weiss, who is biting her nails while trying to contact someone.
"Pick up, uncle Q," Weiss says, but no one comes to pick up the phone. She sighs and scrolls to the next contact on her list. It is her father and Weiss put her scroll down. Knowing she has no other choice she calls her father. The scroll didn't even ring once and goes straight to voicemail. "FUCK!" Weiss throws the scroll.
"Calm down. We'll find Ironwood and maybe he will know what happened to Soichi." Ruby says as she puts a hand onto Weiss' back.
"Don't dread over it. Soichi is fine. I feel like we reiterate this every week." Blake says and smiles. Their happiness is short-lived as they look at a giant screen on the side of a skyscraper.
"News about the ex-general's whereabouts is still unknown. The convict was last seen fighting against the Atlas military in downtown Mantle. He is classified as a menace to society and if anyone sees the man they should report to the local authority." A news anchor says.
"It could be any of the old generals," Ruby says and then the screen turns to show Ironwood's face.
"Again. If anyone has seen James Ironwood they should immediately report to the local authority." The news anchor says and everyone drops their shit.
"We're doomed!" Jaune shouts.
"Can we ask anybody for help?" Weiss asks and they all ponder.
"Let's not stay out any longer. We need to find a place to stay." Ruby takes out her wallet and notices that she doesn't have enough money left. Yang takes out her purse also and notices that she only has a single Lien. "You guys got anything?" Ruby asks and everyone shakes their heads after confirming the state of their wallets.
"Wow... The adults really did cover our asses." Yang says and she takes out her scroll. "I'll try calling dad." Yang dials the number, but her call did not connect as the signal is not strong enough.
"We're on our own," Blake says. "Maybe we can go to Atlas and find some clues. Since we're students maybe Atlas academy can house us."
"No," Weiss says. "There is nothing that connects Mantle to Atlas. No ship, no elevators, nothing for the general public." Weiss tells them.
"Let's find somewhere cheap for tonight," Jaune says and they start walking down the dirty streets of Mantle at night. They see Atlesian Knights walking down the streets and Atlas soldiers station on every corner. "Is this many soldiers normal?"
"No. At least, I didn't think so. I have never been down here before." Weiss says and drones fly past them.
"Maybe we should pick up the pace," Yang suggests. A pair of truck drives by with miners, covered in black material, sitting in the beds. A couple of homeless people stare at the group.
"This whole city, it just seems awful," Blake comments as she notices a drunk Faunus sleeping on a pile of garbage.
"Yeah?" A drunken voice asks. "You don't like it here? There's plenty of space out in the tundra." A drunk man approaches them.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to-" Blake tries apologizing, but the drunk man stops her from talking.
"Atlas is the greatest fucking kingdom in the world, alright!?" He shouts and points a finger at Blake.
"Hey!" Ruby attempts to protect Blake, but the Faunus stops Ruby.
"We can't cause a scene," Blake says as her ears droop.
"The embargo... The embargo's got us in a rough patch. But it'll blow over, you'll see." Another drunk man says and wipes his eyes.
"We try and help the other Kingdoms, and this is what happens? I say let em rot!"
"I apologize. I didn't mean to insult you." Blake properly apologize.
"Stupid Faunus like you wouldn't understand what we're going through. Y'all always talk about equal treatment and fair rights! Do you not understand what we humans have to deal with!?" The drunk man says and Blake gets angry.
"Listen, I'm sorry for insulting your city. But the Faunus has nothing to do with the embargo." Blake tells him and her ears stand up.
"Nothing to do!? You're always taking our jobs! The companies are happy to pay your shitty people low wages! You took my job, my money, my house, my family! Now you want to take my pride!?" The drunk man asks as he steps forward. "Well, you ain't having it!"
"I'm sorry to hear that. But this is why we are fighting for equal treatment. If the Faunus are no longer getting paid poorly and work in terrible conditions. You'll still have a job and your family." Blake says and she turns around leaving him.
"You shitty Faunus! Go die in a fucking hole!" The man shouts as they leave.
"Maybe I should do something," Weiss says as she takes Sabelhieb out. Blake grabs the Schnee's wrist and shakes her head.
"It'll make the Faunus look bad if we use violence," Blake tells her and Weiss understands. Suddenly the alarms go off and the people start running and screaming. The lights from the street lamp turn red and they hear gunshots. Then they hear the wall breaking and some Knights turn to shoot at an enemy.
"Ah, trouble," Jaune says as he takes out his sword and raises his broken shield. Everyone also takes out their weapons and upon drawing her katana, Blake looks at the broken blade, exhaling sharply before folding the blade down and turn it into a gun.
"I guess the city defenses aren't doing much," Oscar says.
"Somehow, that doesn't surprise me," Nora comments as she twirls her hammer. Down the road from them, growling is heard, and an Atlesian Knight-200 is thrown against a lamp post. The Knights shooting at something are pounced on by Sabyrs and destroyed with ease. Ruby looks at the relic and then back at the Sabyrs who turn their attention to the group.
"Conserve. Who knows when we will replenish our supplies." Weiss tells them and everyone nods. Yang charges forth using the recoil from her gauntlet, follow by Ren launching himself forward. "What did I say!?" Weiss asks Yang, who is busy engaging the Grimms.
Nora gets an idea and looks at Jaune. The underdog shakes his head, but Nora grins. She uses her weapon and pole vaults toward Jaune, who kneels and raises his shield, allowing Nora to land on it and she kicks off the broken shield. After Yang uppercuts a Sabyr, Ren lands on another one's back, stabbing his guns' blades into it, and it leaps into the air to knock him off, only for Nora to slam it to the ground with her hammer. Jaune beheads a Sabyr, and when a second one leaps at him, he blocks with his shield and stabs it just above its collarbone.
Ruby stabs her scythe into the ground and takes aim. She fires a couple of rounds and remembers what Weiss told them. She stops and charges at a Sabyr running toward her. She activates her semblance and splits into three piles of roses. She appears behind the Grimm and cuts its legs off. She jumps into the air to evade another Sabyr from attacking her and fires a shot at the first Grimm. Then she stabs Crescent Rose into the ground and kicks the Grimm while using her weapon to keep her up. Oscar jumps on Crescent Rose and kicks off it and stabs at its skull with Ozpin's cane.
After Weiss slices through a Sabyr, four more come running toward her from another street. She casts four black glyphs, using them to levitate the Grimm. As they flail helplessly in the air, Ren leaps from Sabyr to Sabyr, cutting each of them in half. Meanwhile, another Sabyr attempts to run up behind Yang while she finishes another one, only to be shot by Blake, who smiles and nods to Yang.
More Grimms appears and everyone looks at their ammunition. Ruby only has three magazines left, Yang only has whatever is in Ember Celica, while Weiss is full of Dust though she knows she burns through it quickly. Blake did not need to check as she knows she is out of bullets and has to rely on her cleaver. Before they can continue their fight yellow lasers, rain from the skies, absolutely decimating the remaining Grimms.
The Atlas military just arrives and clean what's left of the Grimms that have infiltrated the city. Mantas and Bullhead fly over their heads, the Mantas leave as the Bullheads land behind the group. Soldiers drop out of the Bullhead and line themselves in front of the group with their weapons aimed at some Sabyrs who are running away.
"Fire!" A soldier says and with a single command, the Grimms are swiftly eliminated. "Back to the Bullhead." The same soldier says while the Bullhead touches down.
"You know. I think that was too extra. Like why the hell did you even need me?" Soichi says as he exits the Bullhead.
"You were tasked to be logistic support." The commanding soldier tells Soichi.
"Logistics!? Does it look like I'm knowledgeable in killing Grimms? You guys seem to have it covered! Look at that!" Soichi points at the holes in the buildings and ground of where the Grimms used to be. "Does it look like I can do any better than that!?" Soichi asks and the soldier does not answer. After a moment of silence, Soichi slaps the soldier. "Get cho ass out of here before I give my support and shove it up your ass."
The soldier does what he says and boards the Bullhead with the rest of the soldiers. Soichi sighs and looks at the mess the soldiers created, then sees the group. His mouth forms a smile and he waves at them.
"It's a relief to see that you're safe," Blake says as I chug down a pint of beer. We went to a late-night pub to take a break and exchange information.
"Yeah, are you ok?" Yang asks me. I hold up my index finger while I finish chugging the beer.
"Damn, that's some nasty beer," I said and start coughing. "Another!" I shout at the bartender who immediately grabs another pint of beer and hands it to me.
"You're not old enough to drink," Ruby tells me and I smile while taking a sip of the disgusting beverage.
"You know I'm twenty, right," I told her my age.
"If you're twenty... That means you're a year older than us." Yang says and I'm shocked that they did not know my age.
"Yeah. I am a year older than all of you." I confirm.
"What? But shouldn't you have been a second-year instead of a first-year at Beacon?" Blake asks and I shrug the question off.
"So what happened when I was gone?" I ask and they told me how they entered Mantle with no problem after I was taken away. They then try to ask for the military to help the people of Mistral but they did not do anything. So the Mistralians all decided to separate and try their best to make a living here. "I'll ask the general, what she is going to do about Mistral, the next time I see her."
"You met her?" Weiss asks.
"Yeah, it's a little complicated, but we negotiated and I'm working under her right now," I said as I look at my half-empty pint.
"That's good!" Nora shouts at the next table.
"No, that's not good," I tell her, and I didn't bother elaborating. "We came here to give the relic to Ironwood but now he's labeled a rebel."
"Yeah... We heard." Blake says and I sigh.
"What the hell did he do?" Weiss asks. I take a piece of smoked jerky and start eating.
"From what I heard he did something against regulation. Stole, plot, and betrayed the people of Atlas." I tell them.
"That doesn't make sense. He wouldn't do that!" Weiss yells and I let out another sigh.
"Ozpin trusted Lionheart and look at what happened. It may not be too much of a reach to think Ironwood did betray his city." Blake offers her theory.
"So what do we do now?" Ruby asks and I drink the last of the beer.
"The same thing as always. We protect the relic." Yang says and Ruby takes it out.
"We have to make sure the relic in Atlas is safe also," Jaune says. "Is there any place we can go?"
"Blake do you not have a hideout here like in Mistral?" Yang asks the Faunus.
"No... Atlas was one place where the White Fang could not make a base." Blake says and then my scroll rings. I take it out and see the person trying to contact me is somebody I didn't know. You know, like a normal person I just ignore it and hang up. As I am going to put my scroll away it rings again and I see it is the same nameless contact. I still didn't bother to answer it.
"Just answer it!" Weiss yells at me as my scroll rings for the third time.
"No! I don't want a virus!" I said and turn my scroll off. Then everyone's scrolls ring at the same time. Yang is the first one to answer and she looks worried.
"It's for you." Yang hands her scroll to me.
"When I call, you must answer." I hear the general's voice on the other side.
"At least put your name on there! How the hell do I know that was you?" I ask her and she clicks her tongue quietly.
"Arrive tomorrow at Atlas academy. Forty-forth hour standard time." She says and hangs up.
"Is everything ok?" Yang asks me and I smile.
"Yeah... Just work." I tell her and then I stand up to stretch. "Man! I'm tired, let's all go to sleep."
"Funny..." Jaune says and no one stands up at all to leave.
"What's wrong?" I ask them.
"We don't have money," Weiss says and my eyes widen. I look at Ruby and then at Jaune, Nora, Ren, Weiss, and Oscar.
"Do none of you have money!?" I ask them and they all shake their heads. "So all of you traveled to the other side of the world! To fight the greatest evil of mankind! Without money!? Like I understand why Yang and Blake did not bring money. But all of y'all! Come on!"
"We spent all of it on traveling expenses," Ren tells me.
"Then what were you going to do when you arrived at Mistral!? Become a beggar!?"
"We hoped that Haven academy would give us food and shelter," Ruby says and I let that slide.
"What about you!" I ask Weiss.
"My credit card got cut." She says and I sigh.
"You!" I point at Oscar and he looks a little frightened. "What's your excuse?"
"I'm only fourteen!" Oscar tells me and I went to his table.
"When I was fourteen I was working for money," I tell Oscar and he turns his head away from me.
"Shut up! Yelling at us won't solve our situation!" Jaune shouts at me and I am honestly surprised he has enough courage to do that. I take out my scroll and scroll through and try to contact Q.
"I tried. He isn't answering at all." Weiss says and I start scratching my head to see if there is anywhere we could stay.
"If it's one night I think we can pull through and find a cheap place," Ren says and I nod.
"Oh my god is that a dead boy!?" Ruby asks as we open the door to a shady motel. Indeed, there is a rotting corpse of a male Faunus lying in a bed stained with blood.
"Nope! We're not staying here!" Yang says and I promptly close the door. We head to the next one and I let Weiss open the door to the place we are supposed to stay in. All of us instantly gag after she opens the door.
"There's garbage everywhere!" Blake says while having her nose pinched.
"I can't rest like this," Ruby says as she tries to swipe the bad air away from her.
"Nope. Not staying here." Yang says and closes the door. Then we went to the next motel with low hopes. As Blake opens the door, we are immediately greeted by a Crawler. I see that it has made the room its nest and plenty of its sticky fluid covers the walls, ceiling, and floor. Yang instantly closes the door before the Crawler could notice us.
"How did a Grimm get in there!?" I shout as I try to comprehend the situation.
"Doesn't matter. We're out of here." Yang says and we move onto the next motel. As we get to the door of our apartment we ready our weapons in case this one also houses an unwelcome resident. Ruby puts her hand on the doorknob and nods at us. She opens it and I take the initiative by rolling into the room and point my sword at the lifeform on the bed.
"Oh! Goodness! NSFW!" I shout as I turn away from a couple who were making love on the bed. The guy stands up and I got a nice look at his wiener. "Dude! Get it away! Put on some clothes! For fuck's sake!" I shout as I raise my hand to block the sight of the swaying meat. Yang comes into the room and drags me out, then slams the door shut.
"Can we just get a room without anything weird in it!?" Yang angrily shouts as we exit the motel.
"I need to bleach my eyes again," I said as I try to purge the memory out of my head.
"Now that's a katana," Ruby whispers to me and then snickers.
After a couple of failed attempts, we found a cheap place to stay at, and nothing is wrong with the room we were given... At least nothing wrong that we can see. The room is small had one small bed and a bathroom. We drop our stuff in one of the corners and begin to tidy the place.
"It's not bad," Blake says and smiles as we finish cleaning the place.
"Let's sleep. We have to find a way to earn money tomorrow." Yang says as she pulls out a sleeping bag. I look at the clock on the wall and it reads three A.M.
"Just focus on recovering your body and mind," I tell them and then we all get into our sleeping bag beside Weiss who won the right to sleep on the bed. The space is tight and it is especially bad for me because I am at the center of everything. Yang is to my left and she is not a light sleeper. Then I have Jaune to my left who just takes so much space. I sigh and try my best to fall asleep, but I can't do that at all.
It's pretty uneventful but I'll upload a new chapter the next day. Let's see how far I'll get with this series before I jump off a blimp and die. Anyway smash that fucking like button! Hit that fucking bell! Hit it until it fucking dies! Don't taze me, bro... CHILL!
