"Boss." Dogra's voice was barely a low whisper as he sat down next to Dadan. "Boss, you've got to eat something. You didn't eat dinner last night, or today's breakfast and lunch. You're going to starve to death at this rate."
Dadan nodded, mumbling something incoherently into her pillow, before the stifled sobs returned.
Dogra's chest clenched in worry as he placed a hand on her back and rubbed it awkwardly. "Boss..." He mumbled. "...Boss, the others are worried about you. All you need to do is come and eat one bowl of rice, then I'll leave you alone, okay?"
Dadan mumbled something into her pillow again, which Dogra assumed meant 'Why can't you leave me alone now?', and made a halfhearted gesture to shoo him away.
Dogra tried to muster up enough energy to yell at her to get off her bed and go eat, but all he could feel was a hollow twinge of regret and sorrow. Irrational fear seeped into his thoughts, and before he could censor himself, his mouth whispered, "Please, Boss, we can't lose you too. Not after we just lost Sabo."
Dadan finally turned around, eyes rimmed with red and fresh tear tracks on her cheeks, before nodding robotically and standing up. "Alright." She sighed, before opening the door and stepping out of her room.
A streak of read and blue barely flashed into sight before barreling into Dadan. "You're out!" Luffy chirped, looking relieved. "Ace said that you were sad, so you shut yourself in your room, but that doesn't make since, because when I'm sad, I want to be with Ace, but Ace said that you were different, so I waited, but I was worried that you'd be like Ace and get sad and stuff so I wanted to hug you but we couldn't go in your room and everyone was worried, and... and... and..." Luffy smiled warmly as Dadan awkwardly patted his head, and Dadan raised her head from the small ball of sunshine.
The sight that greeted her was several exhausted bandits sleeping outside of her room, and Ace right with them, sleeping when holding a hand of cards.
Dadan stared at them in surprise, before looking down at Luffy again, and hugging him. "Sorry for worrying you." She rasped, voice grating from all her crying. "I'll eat now, alright?" She turned to Dogra. "Get me a bowl of rice!"
Dogra and Luffy grinned, before Dogra chirped, "Yes, Boss!"
And suddenly, though they were all still in grief, the day felt a bit lighter.
A/N: The ending was... I dunno what to say about the ending... urgh... But I hope you liked it. Sorry for being so obsessed with Dadan lately, though...
