A/N: Sorry for the wait but Arsenal is back! I'll save the chit chat for the end because I don't want to take away from the experience. Just hold on to your snacks ;)
S2 EP12: All Out War Part 2
The Time Vault, a time displaced room located within the Forge of Creation.
Professor Paradox stood in front of a console with his hands behind his back.
Paradox: "Wake up, Ruby. We have work to do." At his words, a big green holographic head shined out of the console, smiling at Paradox.
Ruby: "Good evening, Professor. How may I assist you?" Paradox sighed.
Paradox: "Show me the timeline web of dimension T99."
Ruby: "Yes, Professor." Her face disappeared, being replaced by a huge spiderweb with small clips of certain events sprawled at different points of the web. At the top of the web, there was a clip of me finding the Omnitrix, a clip of Azmuth working on my body to revive me as a Doppelganger and a clip of me and the others teaming up against Apocalypse.
Paradox: "Good, past occurrences seem to not have been affected at all. With all the unusual happenings in the Multiverse lately, I was sure something had changed." He continued down the timeline web, seeing recent events like me facing off against Edgar and Paris, the team up with Stan and the others against Eon, and the Battle of Champions. "Everything seems to be in order here, as well. Except...what's this?"
He looked closer at a particular spot on the web and sighed, shaking his head.
Paradox: "I was aware that young Tremaine was stubborn but I did not think it'd be to this degree. It would be wise of me to put an end to this before it causes a complete rewrite." He placed his goggles on his eyes and pulled out his stopwatch, only to be suddenly stabbed through the chest by an enlarged spike! Blood gushed out of his chest and he managed to turn his head, staring face to face with Ryan Gold, Artillery. His hand was a Spykeback hand and his eyes were orange. On his other wrist was an orange Ultimatrix muscle. He grinned a little at Paradox.
Ryan: "See now, Time Walker, I can't let you do that. It's kind of imperative that I complete this task for that large fellow and that involves making sure nothing interferes with what is going to happen." Paradox dropped slowly to his knees.
Paradox: "I...can't believe I d-didn't realize it before..." Ryan tilted his head to the side and swiftly pulled the spike out of Paradox, then kicked him to the ground.
Ryan: "What are you talking about, now?" Paradox shook his head and smiled sadly.
Paradox: "I've been trying to...keep this timeline from being altered this...whole time. But, it's...it's been altered this entire time." Ryan chuckled.
Ryan: "You don't say. Well, this just got a whole lot more interesting, didn't it?" His eyes glowed orange and a powerful burst of orange light erupted from his body. When it faded, he was Void Matter.
Negative Void Matter: "Now to take care of you." Paradox looked up at him.
Paradox: "Killing me would not amount to much, I hope you understand." Ryan chuckled.
Negative Void Matter: "Kill you? I assure you, Professor, I have no intention of doing that. I've studied your exploits in the Great Hall and am a fan of your work. This is just business." He held out both his arms and shot green and yellow beams at Paradox. Some kind of portal opened in his chest and sucked his whole body it before closing up.
Ryan smirked and reverted to normal.
Ryan: "That should keep the nosy old man out of the way." He walked up to Paradox's console. "Ruby, wake up."
Ruby's face appeared and smiled at him.
Ruby: "Good evening, Dr. Gold. How may I assist you?" Ryan smirked.
Ryan: "Do me a favor and self-destruct. T-minus 45 seconds."
Ruby: "An explosion of that caliber will cause significant damage to the Forge of Creation, Doctor. Do you wish to proceed?" Ryan nodded.
Ryan: "That is the idea. I don't know what the big plan is but it will benefit me in the end, so I'm doing what I'm told. Confirm self-destruct."
Ruby: "As you wish. Self-destruct in T-minus 45 seconds." Ryan grinned and turned to leave.
Ryan: "I'll be seeing you soon, Arsenal. But my part in this little show is over." He turned his hand into an Alien X one and warped off, right as Ruby exploded, completely obliterating the Time Vault and blowing a literal hole in the Forge of Creation! Everything started to rumble as dozens of portals to different dimensions and universes opened, spilling all kinds of creatures out into the Forge. Some kind of red Symbiote oozed out of one portal and shrieked.
Kyrie's POV
I took a deep breath as I stood in front of NexCorp with a satchel around my shoulders. Since Trey took off like usual, I have no choice but to get my powers back on my own.
Kyrie: "I should not be this nervous, I've gone inside this building thousands of times. It's like a second home to me." I started to walk inside, but stopped. "Granted, that was before the company was taken over by a crime boss and before I lost my..powers."
As much I hate to say it, Nick Fury was right. Life is nowhere near the same now that I'm not super smart anymore. If I still had my brains, I'd have my company and everything would be fine. But Xavier Red just came and ruined my life. When I get my powers back, he's the second person I'm going after. Right after Lincoln.
I took another deep breath before finally walking in, the automatic doors opening for me. I walked up to the front desk, where Brooklyn was typing away at her computer. She gave me a sympathetic look when she saw me.
Brooklyn: "Sorry Kyrie, you aren't allowed past this point. Mayor Lincoln's orders." I rolled my eyes. How fucking stupid is this? My name is literally on the front of the building and I'm not allowed past the front desk.
I grinned at her, trying to use the old King Ky looks to get her to let me through.
Kyrie: "Come on, Brook, you know me. Can't you just let me through this one time? I have to grab my favorite jacket out of the forensics room." She smiled at me, but shook her head.
Brooklyn: "I really want to, believe me. But Mayor Lincoln gave everybody specific orders to not let you anywhere near any of the NexCorp departments. You may be cute but he's really frightening." I sighed. She has no idea.
Kyrie: "I hate that I have to do this to you, Brook." Before she could react, I pulled out a remote and pointed it at her, then pressed a button. A green beam shot out from the remote and struck her between the eyes. Her eyes rolled in the back of her head and she dropped to the ground behind her desk. I grinned and looked at the remote.
Kyrie: "Good old NexTool." I put it back in my pocket and headed to the elevator. As I ascended up the floors, I opened up my satchel and checked my equipment one last time. Since I don't have my powers, I couldn't exactly formulate a genius level plan. Instead, I decided to grab a couple of my old inventions and force my way in. Not the most legal plan, but it's for the good of the company.
The elevator doors opened and I was immediately greeted by a bunch of NexCorp security guys. I chuckled nervously.
Kyrie: "Fellas...so I assume you all talked to Brooklyn." One of them pulled out a walkie-talkie.
Security guy: "Mister Lincoln, the Nexus kid is here. What should we do with him?" There was some static when he let the button go, followed by what sounded like a war. After a second, Lincoln's voice came on.
Lincoln: "Take him and lock him up so I can dispose of him, myself. Tonight is going to be the end of all the nuisances in my life." He sounds panicked. What the hell is going on?
The security guy put the talkie away and they all started coming toward me.
Security guy: "Alright, let's go kid. Hate to do this but better you than me." I backed up into the wall and opened my satchel quickly, pulling out a pair of brass knuckles. I put them on and they grew, turning mechanical and covering my hands.
Kyrie: "I know you all are just doing your job, but you have no idea what you're dealing with." They kept coming at me and my gauntlets hummed to life.
Gauntlets: "Automatic Combat Enhancement activated." I nodded and decked a security guard in the face, making him stumble back. Another one came at me, swinging his fists, but I blocked them with my gauntlets and the bones in his hand crumbled. He gripped it in pain and I sent a quick jab to his nose, knocking him down for the count. I caught the third guy's fist and twisted it, then punched him in the spine with my other hand. He flew into the wall next to us and slid to the ground. The last guy charged straight at me like a bull, but I punched him straight in the head and he flew back into the wall, out cold.
I grinned down at my gauntlets.
Kyrie: "Best invention ever!" I flexed my hands a bit and the gauntlets started to power down, eventually shrinking back down to the brass knuckles. I took them off and put them back in my satchel as I hurried down the hallway. "Okay, DNA department is this way. I should be able to get in and out without much more trouble."
I picked up speed down the hallway until I reached the entrance to one of the many DNA labs. A hand scanner glowed green and hummed to life.
Scanner: "Fingerprint identification, please." I nodded and put my hand on the scanner.
Kyrie: "My prints were one of the first ones put into the system. I have to be able to get it." The scanner suddenly beeped loudly and I jumped back, taking my hand away.
Scanner: "Access denied. Fingerprints removed from administrative system by CEO Lenard Lincoln." I clenched my fists and gritted my teeth. He just keeps taking stuff from me. Then I opened my satchel and kneeled down in front of the scanner. I pulled out a small metal disc with a button on it and placed it in front of the scanner. Wires came out of the back of it and attached themselves to the scanner.
Kyrie: "Nothing a little EMP can't fix." I pressed the button on the disc and it released a quick electrical charge into the scanner, causing it to short out and open the door to the lab. I stood up and smirked. "Smart me is a total stud for making all this stuff. All the more reason I need to get my powers back."
I walked inside and immediately started searching the lab.
Kyrie: "It's gotta be around here, somewhere. Lincoln is stupid and cocky enough to trust his security, he wouldn't think to move it." I paused for a second, then turned around and looked at the wall, where a picture of him and my mom was. "Oh, he's not that arrogant."
I walked over and took the picture down, revealing a safe with a thumb print scanner.
Kyrie: "Mom's jewelry safe. He didn't think I'd have access." I put my thumb to the scanner and it turned green and beeped. The safe opened, revealing a five vials of the meta-human serum. My face lit up.
Kyrie: "Finally, I can get my brains back!" Suddenly, a bullet sped past my head and hit the wall.
Voice: "Not if they're splattered against the wall." I turned around and there stood Tombstone, Mayor Lincoln. I immediately put my hand in my bag, but he aimed the gun at me.
Tombstone: "Hands in the air, kid. NOW!" I immediately put them up. He chuckled. "You know, it's kind of funny. At one point, I actually wanted you to be my son. I was never able to have children so I considered you a suitable replacement to rule the West side when I'm gone."
I responded with a cold stare.
Kyrie: "Oh yeah? Then what changed?"
Tombstone: "You became a puzzle piece. One that was needed to complete my ultimate plan for control. And now that you have played your part, I can't have you around." He cocked back his gun and pointed it at me. "Any last words?"
I smiled at him a little and opened my bag, pulling out a recording device.
Kyrie: "Oh yeah. Just that I totally got that whole thing on tape. You admitting blame for whatever the hell is going on and threatening to kill me." His eyes got wide before he started to pull the trigger.
Kyrie: "WAIT! If you kill me, this evidence along with footage of you murdering that scientist in cold blood will be sent off to someone who's more than capable of using it." I hope. Trey is my man, but this stuff is sorta out of his league. He doesn't seem like the type to risk his life.
Tombstone paused and put the gun down for a second. Then he gave me a twisted grin.
Tombstone: "Does it seem like I care, kid? What I have set in motion will be the most monumental event in Novas history! Believe me, I want to take full credit for that." Before I could object, he raised the gun and pulled the trigger.
I closed my eyes and waited for the bullet to hit me but...it never did. I opened my eyes to see everything frozen.
Kyrie: "What the heeeell? What's going on?" I was suddenly blinded by a flash of light and when it faded, there was a being with bright orange armor and some kind of staff with a clock on top.
Orange being: "I'm saving your life, Kyrie Nexus. You are a crucial component to what's to come." My jaw almost dropped as he stood there. This guy's got to be a monster, right? No meta-human looks like this. The closest thing I've seen would be Arsenal, sometimes.
Kyrie: "Why is everyone talking about me like some kind of piece? Just what is going on, here? Who are you?!" I opened my satchel and pulled out my photon ray, then aimed it at him.
Orange being: "Such behavior is pointless." He tapped the staff on the ground and my photon ray disintegrated into nothing. My eyes got wide. "Now, I am called the Sculptor, master of the universe's secrets."
Master of the secrets of the universe? This guy's gotta be pretty smart. Heh, if he's smart enough to know how to make something disintegrate without touching it, I should probably listen to him.
I nodded.
Kyrie: "Okay 'Sculptor', I appreciate you saving me but...why? You look pretty powerful to me, why waste your time on a regular guy like me?" I hung my head.
Sculptor: "Kyrie...I assure you that you are not regular. Far from it! You play an important role in the true destiny of Tetris Nova." I looked back up at him in shock. Me? How can I decide what's going go happen to an entire planet?
Kyrie: "What are you talking about, Sculptor? What do you mean true destiny?"
Sculptor: "All of that will be revealed in due time. For now, we must play our part." I raised an eyebrow at him, then looked at Tombstone, who was still frozen like everything else.
Kyrie: "What about Lincoln? When this all goes back to normal, he's gonna expect me to have a bullet in my head." Sculptor waved his hand, nonchalantly.
Sculptor: "He will be dealt with, do not worry." I nodded again and he snapped his fingers, making everything unfreeze. As soon as he did, Tombstone smirked, obviously expecting to see me with a bullet in my head. He immediately frowned when he saw me standing there with Sculptor.
Tombstone: "Hey, what the fuck is-" He was suddenly cut off by Sculptor appearing behind him and snapping his neck. My eyes got wide as his dead body fell to the floor.
Kyrie: "Holy shit! I mean...Holy shit! You just killed him!" I dropped on my knees in front of his body and checked his pulse. No sign of one. Sheesh, I know I kind of despised the guy but I wanted to see him locked up, not dead.
Sculptor: "Do not mourn his death for a second, Kyrie. He too had a part to play and he played it well. It is simply over now." Before I could say anything else, my phone buzzed. I took it out, seeing a reminder to send Trey the dirt on Lincoln. Guess he won't be needing it now.
I was about to put my phone back when it started ringing. I looked down at my screen again, seeing Trey's face. I noticed Sculptor shift a bit.
Sculptor: "Answer it." I nodded slowly and did just that.
Kyrie: "You got a lot of nerve, calling me after running off when I needed you, dude." What sounded like explosions and yelling could be heard before Trey said anything.
Trey: "I'm so very sorry for not doing something totally illegal and stupid, Ky. Is that what you wanted to hear? Good. Now, I need you to listen to me." He sounds panicked. Too bad, he ran off on me and left me to do this by myself. I would've died if it hadn't been for Sculptor.
Kyrie: "You're not taking this seriously, as usual. I have nothing to say to you." He sighed.
Trey: "Ky, please. It's important." He really needs help. I haven't seen him so serious since...well, never. Maybe I should hear him out. I looked at Sculptor, who nodded.
Kyrie: "Okay. What's going on?" There was another explosion before he answered.
Trey: "Where are you?" I raised an eyebrow.
Kyrie: "At NexCorp, why?"
Trey: "Okay, good good. Stay there. I'm going to have some...people come by there to work on something, later. They're from my hometown." There was a flash of light and when I looked up, Sculptor was gone. Now I don't have to worry about hiding him from Trey's friends.
Kyrie: "What are they working on?" Before he said anything, I heard something rev up and somebody scream.
Voice: "Holy shit, she's got a chainsaw!"
Trey: "Gotta go, bro." He hung up after that.
Kyrie: "Hopefully I have some time before Trey's friends get here. I have something waiting for me." I turned back to the safe, grinning at the meta-liquid. "I bet Trey is regretting not coming with me. I'm about to get superpowers for the second time. Wonder what he's doing."
Trey's POV (A few minutes before)
Buildings collapsed and cars exploded as energy blasts and gun shots alike filled the air. Down in the streets, Tombstone's gang of metas had the slight advantage over Negative's...but not because of anything they did.
Reach, a meta with stretchy powers, enlarged his fists and nailed an ice meta in the jaw, sending him flying into a fire hydrant. It burst, shooting water into the air. He smirked but was suddenly nailed by a car. He flew through the air and slammed into a guy made of clay.
Ben: "Oh, sorry, was that overkill?" He was Magnedude, a fat white alien with a skinny black head, green swimming trunks and the Ultimatrix symbol in his belly button. He held his hand up, using his magnetic powers to wrap a light pole tightly around Reach so he couldn't move.
Magnedude Ben: "Nah, probably not." He set his sights on a group of guys with smoke powers and slapped his symbol, transforming into Smoxe! He had green eyes and a black hoodie with matching track pants and the symbol on his chest.
Smoxe Ben: "This has always been one of my favorite of Arsey's forms. Shame he never used it much." He shrugged and turned into smoke, flying at the smoke metas. He became solid and sent a right hook straight into one of the guys' jaw. He stumbled back but quickly started shooting smoke pellets at Ben. He turned into smoke to dodge it, then flew at the meta. He turned solid when he got to him and the meta swung at him, only for him to easily dodge around it and knee him in the stomach. He hunched over in pain and Ben delivered a spinning roundhouse kick to his temple, knocking him out cold. Two smoke whips wrapped around both of his arms and yanked him back, setting him up to be slammed to the ground by a smoke fist. Ben slapped his symbol and became Jet Stream, then unleashed a powerful burst of wind from his palms, blowing the smoke metas away. He quickly got up and took off into the air after them. He socked one in the stomach, nailed another one in the nose, and spin kicked another one in the jaw. They all fell to the ground, out cold.
Ben smirked and pressed his symbol, activating the communicator.
Jet Stream Ben: "I don't see anymore elementals in this area, guys. I guess Arsey's plan is working." He flew up into the air, setting his sights on another group of metas.
Down below, Logan rolled his eyes, smiling a bit.
Logan: "As if Arsenal even has a plan. As many qualities as my dear brother possesses, being a brilliant tactician is not one of them." His pupils turned mechanical and blue as he scanned through the metas, seeing Croc holding a woman against the wall. He rolled his eyes and took off at super speed, nailing Croc in the stomach with a diamond spiked fist. He dropped to his knees, holding his stomach and Logan formed his energy staff and slammed it across his face. He flew through the brick building and landed in a heap of bricks, out cold.
He looked over at the lady and smiled a little before returning to his stoic expression.
Logan: "Are you okay?" She nodded slowly and picked her things up off the ground.
Lady: "Thank you." He simply turned his back.
Logan: "You should get out of here. It's not safe, if you haven't noticed." She looked at him for a second before taking off. He sighed and was about to zoom off when a bright green alien flew down on some kind of frisbee and landed in front of Logan. He had a red jumpsuit and a red Ultimatrix symbol.
Alien: "That was kind of harsh, don't you think?" He glowed red and reverted to...Kyle. He looked pretty different this time around, now having bright red glowing Codon veins embedded in his arms, along with red eyes. His Ultimatrix looked to be kinda melted into his wrist.
Kyle: "That lady just wanted to say thank you and you just shrugged her off." His Ultimatrix faceplate glowed as a holographic girl projected herself out. She was wearing a dark red tracksuit with the symbol on it, a headband with the symbol on the side and the pupils on her eyes were Ultimatrix symbols. Ultima, the sentient AI girl in Kyle's Ultimatrix, put her hands on her hips and tilted her head at Logan.
Ultima: "Yeah, Overdrive. I thought the heroes in Dimension T99 were all about the people." Logan rolled his eyes and turned his back to them.
Logan: "That's just Arsenal, I'm afraid. He wants to put on a show, I just want to get the job done." His eyes flashed blue and he turned to look back at Kyle and Ultima. "Do me a favor and find him, huh? We should at least know what his end result to all this is."
Kyle nodded and Logan zoomed off.
Kyle: "Man, has Logan always been that stoic?" Ultima shrugged.
Ultima: "Maybe. We haven't really worked with him except for that time with the Eons and that other time with Animo. Small sample size." Kyle shrugged and looked around at all the metas that were still at large.
Kyle: "We should take out some of these thugs while we look for Arsenal. Whatever his end result is, I know it involves hitting." Ultima grinned and clapped her hands excitedly before beaming herself back into the Ultimatrix. Kyle glowed red and transformed into Frankenstrike, his Boltneck form.
Frankenstrike Kyle: "This should be the best game of Hide and Seek ever." He charged his fists up with electricity and charged at a crowd of metas. A flamehead blasted a flamethrower at him, but he ran straight through it and kneed him in the stomach, then punched him to the ground. He transformed into Fasttrack and zoomed at a guy with rock powers, catching his fist as Four Arms and slamming his three other fists straight into his stomach. He fell to the ground and Kyle became Sandbox, launching his fist into the air and nailing a flying meta.
Sandbox Kyle: "Ultima, can you do a scan of any aura above A tier?"
Ultima: "Sure can!" Kyle's Ultimatrix symbol released a beam of light and scanned the block. "That's weird."
Sandbox Kyle: "What?" He transformed into Humongousaur and charged at two giant robots, slamming his fist through one of their chests. He pulled his fist out and locked his fists together, knocking the robot's head clean off. He picked up its body and swung it into the other robot, knocking its torso off its legs and sending it flying into a building.
Ultima: "I'm getting an A tier aura that's not too far away. It's actually pretty close." Kyle glowed red again and became Godspeed.
Godspeed Kyle: "How close?" He started spinning his arms at super speed, forming twin tornados to blow a group of ice metas back.
Ultima: "Um, about thirty feet to our left." Kyle raised his eyebrow and ran a little bit, sliding to a stop in an alleyway. He reverted to normal and rolled his eyes.
Kyle: "Seriously, dude? You guys have to do this now?" Inside the alley, Ellie and I were making out intensely. I was in costume but the mouth part of my mask was gone and I was pressed up against Ellie, who was up against the wall.
We stopped when he said that and I stepped back.
Trey: "Sorry, Kai. I really...missed her." Ellie pulled her hoodie back over her legs and stood beside me, nodding and wrapping her arms around me.
Ellie: "Ditto, hon'. It feels like it's been forever since we last fuc-" I quickly put my whole hand over her face before she could finish and looked at Kyle, who looked pretty sheepish. I haven't really hung out with Kyle recently, outside of the Infinity Force team ups of course, but he's always been kinda shy about..'adult' things and I don't want to freak him out.
Trey: "So...were you looking for me, dude?" He nodded and gave me a serious look.
Kyle: "Logan wanted me to find you and ask you what your plan to deal with this war is. It's getting pretty out of hand." Ultima beamed out of his Ultimatrix.
Ultima: "He doesn't think you even have a plan, but that's ridiculous. Of course you have a plan, right?" Her, Kyle and Ellie all looked at me, expecting an answer. I gulped and thought about it for a second.
I honestly have no fucking clue what we're gonna do about this. I figured since we have everyone here that we'd just take down all the metas and snag Tombstone and Negative. But by the looks of it, that could take all night. Who knows how many people could be getting hurt because of this war?
I looked at Kyle.
Trey: "Give me some time to think. In the meantime, you and Ultima kick some more ass and help anyone you can." Kyle nodded and turned to Ultima.
Kyle: "Told you it'd involve hitting." He saluted back at me before transforming into Wildmutt and taking off. Ellie turned her head to look at me.
Ellie: "So, is he dating that watch girl or what? I'm confused." I chuckled a bit and pulled her arms off me, taking her hands in mine.
Trey: "It's a little more complicated than that, love. This whole thing got really complicated, really fast." I looked down at the ground. Ellie let go of my hand and held my head up.
Ellie: "What's going on, honey? This is what we've been preparing for, this whole time." I shook my head.
Trey: "No. No it's not. Bloodsucker, this whole time, the mission was to prevent the war. Every single one of our efforts were directed toward making sure this didn't happen!" Ellie nodded slowly and pulled my head down to her chest, hugging me close.
Ellie: "And now that it's happening, you don't know how you're going to manage it all." I nodded slowly, wanting to just let her hold me. Then I sighed and took my head off her chest, stepping away from her and making my full mask come back on.
Trey: "But it's fine, I'm going to save the day...I always do." Ellie didn't look convinced. She stepped closer to me and put her hand on my shoulder.
Ellie: "Honey, it's okay to not be super confident all the time. You know that, right?" I looked her in the eyes and was about to say something, then stopped. I shook my head.
Trey: "I have no choice but to be, love. Everybody is depending on me to be extraordinary and I'll be damned if I let them down again!" My eyes glowed red, shining through my goggles. Ellie nodded and wrapped her arms around my waist, burying her face into my neck.
Ellie: "I understand, shape-shifter. If I had a chance to make up for even one of my mistakes, I'd be all in too." I hugged her close.
Trey: "You'll have to tell me about some of those, one day." She tensed up a little and looked up at me.
Ellie: "Are you sure you want that, hon'? I don't want you to...think less of me because of what I used to be." That tugged at my heart strings for some reason. How could she think that?
I looked around, making sure nobody else was in the alley, then made my mask go away. I put my hands on her face gently and kissed her softly. After a second, I pulled away and looked at her.
Trey: "Ellie, listen to me. There is nothing you can tell me that will ever make me think less of you. You're my sunshine." She smiled at me broadly and I can say with the utmost confidence that it was the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Ellie: "Shape-shifter, I.." She trailed off, seeming to be thinking about something.
Trey: "You okay, bloodsucker?" She looked up at me and put her hand on my cheek, then stepped away from me, still in thought. Then she sighed.
Ellie: "Look shape-shifter, this war is bigger than anything I've ever dealt with before and I learned from...past experiences that you should tell people how you feel about them while you can. So, I.." She paused. I just stared at her, not sure what she'd say.
Trey: "What's going on, doll? Are you okay?" She nodded quickly.
Ellie: "Yes, I'm okay, honey. More than okay! I've never been more okay than when I'm with you." She took a deep breath before continuing. "Trey, what I'm trying to say is...I think I kinda..you know."
I raised an eyebrow at her. She kinda what? Wait...holy shit.
Trey: "Ellie..are you saying you...?" She nodded shyly and looked at the ground, then shook her head and looked back up at me.
Ellie: "Yeah, honey. I'm saying I..I love you." Before I could say anything, she grabbed my hands. "And I know I'm the absolute worst at telling you how I feel and you could probably do a million times better but I've never felt more.. alive than when I'm with you and..and, yeah. I love you."
I stared at her with mixed emotions. I'm shocked that she actually came out and said it like that, kind of upset I didn't say it first, but mostly I'm so fucking happy.
Before I could tell her how much I really loved her and that there was nobody better for me than her, I was suddenly flung back into some kind of void. There was a flash of light and when I could see again, I was in the Canvas. Sculptor was floating there with some kind of staff. It looked kind of familiar.
Sculptor: "Trey Sergauson!" I looked up at him and groaned.
Trey: "Seriously, man? You have the literally the worst timing in history!" He shook his head.
Sculptor: "Your personal affairs are slight compared to what will happen if you do not listen to me, Arsenal." I sighed and nodded, making my mask come back on.
Trey: "Go on." He snapped his fingers, making some kind of huge screen appear, showing an overhead view of the city. Fighting metas were everywhere and the city was starting to look worse and worse.
Sculptor: "As you can probably guess, this war is the event that can destroy the planet." I rolled my eyes under my mask.
Trey: "Gee, I didn't know. Thanks for telling me." I swore he smirked a little bit before swiping across the screen. The screen switched to another meta-infested area of the city. He pointed to the street.
Sculptor: "Below this street is the planetary core. It is the essence of the entire planet, essentially-"
Trey: "I know what a planetary core is, dude. I blew one up when I took out War World with my friends." Sculptor chuckled.
Sculptor: "Yes, your...ahem, team." I raised an eyebrow at him under my mask. He's acting pretty weird. I don't know how a floating orange guy could get weirder but congrats to him.
Trey: "Yeah, my team. Who is waiting for me to lead them to victory against this war, so can we please hurry this up?" He shook his head and glared at me.
Sculptor: "You are missing my point, Doppelganger. If you do not listen to me, there will be no victory. Everyone will die." I glared back at him, my eyes starting to glow red.
Trey: "How about you give up some answers before trying to order me around, tangerine boy. Let's start with how do you know who I am? Are you an alien? Some kind of cosmic dude?"
Sculptor chuckled, again waving me off.
Sculptor: "All your questions will be answered, that can be said with honesty. But only if you listen to me. The fate of the planet rides on it." I sighed again and nodded, motioning for him to continue. He definitely smirked this time and pointed at the street again.
Sculptor: "As I was saying, the planetary core is right below this street, which is currently being used as a battlefield for a meta-human war. At the rate that it is going, the street will be nothing in a matter of hours and the core will be exposed. If that happens and the core sustains even the slightest amount of damage.." I nodded slowly.
Trey: "Bye bye, Tetris Nova." I shook my head. I'm not letting that happen.
I looked back at Sculptor, who was already staring at me. This dude gets an 11 out of 10 on the creepy meter.
Trey: "There's gotta be something I can do, right?" I thought back to my only other experience with a planetary core that I have. When the others and I took out War World, the planetary wasn't buried somewhere, it was in some kind of container. What if..
I grinned at Sculptor under my mask.
Trey: "Hold on to your paint brush, dude, I might've just thought of something." Sculptor put his hands behind his back.
Sculptor: "Proceed." I nodded.
Trey: "Okay, what if we moved the core? The planetary core in War World was in some kind of thing built to hold it. We could totally do the same!" Heh, never thought I'd be taking ideas from an alien super-villain. Well, I don't know if Beerus is actually a bad guy since he hasn't exactly done anything bad yet. But he'll eventually create War World, which is a death planet, so he can't be a saint.
Sculptor thought about it for a second, before nodding.
Sculptor: "In theory, it should work. But the containment device would have to be extremely well designed. It would take some of the greatest minds ever known to even be able to make an attempt." I smirked at him this time.
Trey: "It's funny you should say that, my guy. My brother happens to be one of the greatest minds in the universe. If you ask him, at least. And my niece is pretty geeky, too. I'm sure the two of them could at least give it a damn good try." I smiled to myself. As much as I'm digging the solo vigilante thing, hero team ups are always awesome.
Sculptor didn't look convinced.
Sculptor: "You are referring to the Bionic and the Sorceress Supreme, correct? I know of them. They are formidable minds but...the technology needed isn't available on Tetris Nova. It would take the most other-"
Trey: "Hey, what about NexCorp?" He paused.
Sculptor: "Explain, if you will."
Trey: "NexCorp managed to create a fucking superpower serum, right? If the egg heads could do that, that company has to have tech that they haven't been telling people about. That could be a perfect place to work on the core container!" Sculptor stood still, just staring at me.
Sculptor: "I do not think that will work, Arsenal." I wish he could see the stink face I'm giving him under my mask.
Trey: "What the hell, dude? Why not? Me and my chick are obviously awesome and the Champions can hold their own too. Plus we have another Doppelganger, whatever the fuck Kyle is, another wielder, and a bunch of other bad ass motherfuckers." Suddenly, everything went dark and the screen disappeared. Sculptor appeared in front of me, towering over me by a couple feet.
Sculptor: "That is your problem, Mr. Sergauson, you are selfish. You can parade about and boast because you are capable of moving worlds with the palms of your hands. Your friends do not possess such power and yet you continue to put them in danger." That pissed me off. My eyes glowed red as I glared at him.
Trey: "What the hell are you talking about, dude? My friends have always willingly backed me up! I've never put them in danger." He chuckled.
Sculptor: "It's funny that you are in such denial. Almost sad. Arsenal, from the moment the Omnitrix attached itself to your wrist, you have brought nothing but danger to those close to you. Bringing your friends to a dying planet is only the recent example." Before I could defend myself and mention the fact I didn't bring them there, the screen appeared again.
It showed footage of 16 year old Logan lying on the ground with blood pouring out of a hole where his right arm should be.
Trey: "Loges? What is this, Sculptor?"
Sculptor: "You do not remember, Arsenal? Summer of 2015, not too long after you found the Omnitrix. This is the event that changed history." My eyes got wide under my goggles.
Trey: "The very first Infinity Force team up. Against Terra."
Sculptor: "And a notable example of you bringing harm to your friends. Eon of Dimension T99 was able to harm Logan Gold because you decided to bring him along." I looked at the ground. He's right. Logan got his arm ripped off because I wanted to bring a partner along.
Trey: "I.." The screen changed, this time showing footage of 15 year old Charity, lying on the ground with blood pouring out of a hole in her eye.
Sculptor: "That very same summer, Charity Jennings was impaled through her head by a mutant mercenary. It took a mechanized chip to save her." I looked up at him.
Trey: "I know. I'm the one who built the chip. Besides, that wasn't my fault. Matt told me Charity insisted on coming to the orphanage to save Mr. Terry!"
Sculptor: "Who would not have been in danger in the first place, had you not angered Apocalypse. In fact, that entire three months Apocalypse had hold of the Earth all could have been avoided had you not decided to start working with an anti-mutant organization."
Trey: "Hey, those mutants weren't just picking fucking daisies, you know! They were bad guys. I don't agree with how Axle treated them but I don't regret taking them down." Sculptor shook his head and the screen changed again. My eyes got wide.
It was footage of 15 year old me, before all of this cosmic stuff happened. I was wearing the Omnitrix and on my knees, crying my eyes out. On the floor in front of me was the dead body of Amanda Todd.
Trey: "What...what are you showing me this for? I didn't get her killed, she.."
Sculptor: "I know how she died, Arsenal. Although her decision wasn't your fault, the circumstances were. Did Arsenal not come to her aid when she was being assaulted in that alley?" I nodded.
Trey: "Yeah, so what?"
Sculptor: "You thought you were saving her life but you were really jumpstarting her final days. Do you even know how she got in that ditch you found her in?" I looked at the ground. I always assumed those same bullies got to her again but I never asked. Didn't think it was important.
Trey: "No...I don't." As soon as I said that, the screen changed again. It was Amanda, alive and surrounded by a group of boys and girls.
Girl: "This the girl that's friends with the superhero?" The boy nodded.
Boy: "Yeah, that's Arsenal's bitch." The screen went black after that. I looked at the ground in horror. She was beat up because of me. So not only didn't I save her, I was the reason it got so bad.
Sculptor: "Those are only some of the examples of people getting hurt simply for knowing you, Trey Sergauson. Your mere existence in people's lives has brought just as much death and destruction as it has heroism. And the worst part is, you never learn."
Suddenly I was pulled into the void again. After another flash of light, I was back in the alley with Ellie. She was standing in front of me and we were holding hands. Sculptor must've put me back right where he took me from.
Ellie chuckled nervously.
Ellie: "Getting kinda anxious here, shape-shifter. Can you say something?" It took me a second to realize what she's talking about. She just told me she loves me.
I made my mask come off then grabbed her face gently again. There are no more doubts in my mind. I'm completely in love with Ellie. Heh, guess Charity was right, after all.
Trey: "Ellie, I-" Sculptor's words suddenly rung in my head.
You have brought nothing but danger to those close to you.'
He's...he's right. Everybody I love has gotten hurt because of my responsibility. But he's wrong about one thing...I do learn.
I looked back at Ellie sadly. I love you.
I took my hands off her face and stepped away from her.
Trey: "Ellie, I...think we should slow things down a little." Her face immediately fell.
Ellie: "What..do you mean?" I rubbed the back of my neck.
Trey: "I mean, we've only been dating for a little over a month. I know we're immortal and everything but we don't have to move this fast." My heart broke and fell into my stomach as soon as I said that and by the look on Ellie's face, so did hers.
Ellie: "Oh...yeah. I guess." She looked at the ground and tensed up a lot, almost hugging herself. I started to hug her, but she stepped away from me at vampire speed.
Ellie: "Let...just let me know when you think of a plan, Trey." Before I could do anything, she zoomed off.
Trey: "She...called me Trey." I dropped down to my knees and buried my face in my hands. After a second, I looked up at the sky. It looked oddly green colored.
Trey: "This is the price of being extraordinary. I can't let Ellie get hurt because of my selfish feelings." There was another explosion and I nodded, "Alright, time to get serious."
I stood up and made my mask come back on, walking out of the alley and stretching. I turned my hand into a Freakazoid one and pulled out a giant megaphone.
Trey: "ATTENTION! WILL EVERY SUPERHERO IN THE CITY PLEASE REPORT TO NOVAS UNIVERSITY?! I HAVE A PLAN!" I put the megaphone away and turned my hand back to normal. "That outta get their attention."
Suddenly, webbing came out of nowhere and stuck me to the brick wall behind me as a crowd of other metas formed.
Spider meta: "You got all of our attention, Arsenal. Unfortunately for you, we wanna off you more than we wanna off each other." I struggled a bit before smirking a little under my mask.
Trey: "Ya' know, I never knew how annoying Web Head's webbing was. Thanks for showing me." I glowed red, bursting out of the webbing as UltraTreez. I grabbed Spidey by the head and headbutt him as hard as I could, creating a sonic boom and sending him flying.
UltraTreez: "There are way too many of these guys to hold back. Looks like I get to let loose a bit." I grinned. It's not often I get to use even fifty percent of my power. This should be fun. I rotated my shoulder and looked at a group of metas. "Okay guys, which one of you wants to help me warm up?"
They all powered up and charged at me. I shrugged.
UltraTreez: "All at once works too." I charged at them too. Some kind of ogre thing tried to smash me but I jumped up so his fist got stuck in the street, then nailed him in the nose, cratering him into the street. I landed on the street, punched right through an ice ball, and easily grabbed some kind of energy whip before it hit me. I pulled on it, sending the Energy Conduit meta flying toward me. I interlocked my hands and spun around, nailing the meta in the jaw and sending him sailing. I grinned and watched as he flew through the air.
UltraTreez: "Going...going...gone! That's a home run." A meta with diamond powers launched himself at me, but I blocked his strike with my forearm and socked him in the nose with left hand. He fell to the ground, where I punted him with my foot. He flew into the side of a building and fell to the ground, out cold.
I smirked and stuck my tongue out a little, cheekily.
UltraTreez: "This form is crazy strong but that's about it. I need a heavy hitter with some...pizzazz." Some kind of guy with black fur swung off a light pole and pounced at me, but I glowed red again. He flew back as the glow faded. I was a six feet tall dark black alien with a red and black jumpsuit and black cape. The symbol was on my chest.
I smirked as I looked at my hands, flexing them.
Trey: "My Kryptonian form! Never got the chance to name this one."
Voice: "TIME TO DIE, ARSENAL!" I looked up to see a giant fat dude in the air, heading right for me. I grinned and cracked my knuckles, then took off into the air like a bullet, heading toward Blubber Boy. I inhaled and blew my super breath at him, blowing him higher in the air. Then I blew my ice breath at him, freezing him solid. I flew up to him and nailed him with a good bit of strength, sending him flying straight into Giant Man, who was running toward me.
Trey: "Hmmm, Omni seems like a decent name. Wonder how Tyson is doing these days." I started flying toward Novas University, making sure to listen out for any civilians that might need help. I looked down at the street, taking in all the chaos.
Omni: "The city is getting more fucked up by the second. Hopefully this plan works and I can get everything back to normal." I shook my head, trying to shoo away any doubts. "What am I saying? Of course this plan is gonna work. I'm fucking Arsen-"
Something suddenly wrapped around my throat and pulled me down. I slammed into the street and looked up, seeing a giant fucking octopus.
Omni: "Whoa! Guess old Tomby hasn't worked out all the kinks in his meta-formula." My eyes shined red and I launched my eye beams at him, knocking him back. "Either that or Captain D's is getting real aggressive with their promotion."
I started to hear a bunch of loud footsteps and turned around to see Hammerhead charging at me with his head down.
Hammerhead: "The boss has had enough of you, hero! I'm gonna end ya!" I laughed and shook my head a bit.
Omni: "Whatever you say, six head." I spotted a metal pipe on the ground and picked it up, examining it. "Yeah, this should do nicely."
Hammerhead started to get close to me and I flew up a little bit above street level, then clutched the pipe like I was playing golf.
Omni: "Four!" Hammerhead got to me and I swung, sending the metal pipe crashing into his jaw. He went flying like a rocket toward Novas University.
Omni: "Probably put a little too much mustard on that one." I dropped the pipe and shrugged. "Eh, I'm going that way, anyway."
I crouched down to get some momentum and took off into the air.
...
Meanwhile, at Novas University, everyone was in the quad, just sitting around.
Logan and Marian were sitting on a table, Ben and Aubrie next to them. Charity had created a swing from one of her chains and was sitting on it. Matt was leaning against a tree with Essence next to him. Gwen was floating in the air, seeming to be meditating.
Kyle and Kosta were at another table. Kosta was rocking a yellow long-sleeved shirt with faded blue jeans.
Terra was hanging upside down from a web line next to April, who was hovering in the air with a rainbow aura. Terra had on her symbiote suit, minus the mask.
Finally, Matt stood up and looked around.
Matt: "So we're all supposed to just sit here and wait for Kakarot? There are a bunch of goons that need their asses handed to them and we're not doing anything." Kosta looked at Kyle.
Kosta: "What's his problem? I can smell the anger issues from here." Kyle chuckled.
Kyle: "He's a Saiyan, I think. Those guys would rather battle than do anything else." Ultima beamed out of his watch, sitting on the table.
Ultima: "He can't help it, it's in his blood. His kind isn't built to know anything but intensity."
Terra: "That is so hot." Kyle and Kosta looked at her, while April and Ultima giggled.
Logan shook his head at Terra and turned to Matt.
Logan: "Trey said he had a plan, dude. He should be flying in here, any minute." Charity nodded.
Charity: "Yeah and if anybody knows anything about hero plans, it's Arsenal." Kyle and Kosta scoffed.
Kyle: "Booooo, I smell bias! My plans are way better than his!"
Kosta: "Totally. You guys should've seen how my friend and I took out this flying city. It was so schway!" Gwen opened her eyes and floated over to everybody else.
Gwen: "I'll object to that statement too, Chare. My retrieval of the Eye of Other can't be topped by much." Aubrie looked at Ben.
Aubrie: "What about the time we helped Azmuth save the fourth moon of Primus, Benny?" Skurd oozed out and landed on her shoulder.
Skurd: "We sure did give that Blackheart a good thrashing, Master Tennyson." Ben nodded and smirked.
Ben: "Oh yeah! I didn't even have my Ultimatrix, back then. I was awesome with a knock off." He put an arm around Aubrie.
Marian looked at Logan.
Marian: "Wait, Ben and Aubrie took down Blackheart? You liar, you said it was you!" Logan looked at her, ashamed.
Logan: "I...uh, got knocked out. But I was there!" Everybody laughed at that.
At that moment, something flew down and landed right in the middle of them. The dust cleared, revealing a Scorch alien. It was about 5 ft 6, had purple eyes and a purple symbol on its chest.
Kosta: "Sergauson? That you?" Scorch rolled it's eyes and glowed purple, reverting back into Tracy. She was wearing a grey tracksuit and her black hair was in two braids that went down to her neck. Her eyes were bright purple.
Tracy: "Well, yeah. But probably not the one you're looking for." Matt groaned.
Matt: "It's only you. Where the hell is your cousin, Doppelganger?" Tracy rolled her eyes.
Tracy: "Nice to see you too, Matt. As for the whereabouts of my cousin, how the fuck should I know? I don't keep tabs on him, I just found out he was alive! Besides, I do have my own life, you know." (A/N: Tracy Sergauson series anyone? Poll on my page.)
April decided to stop talking to Terra and came over.
April: "Okay, I'm not sure where Trey is but I do know that this war is bigger than some street beef. There are several hundred B tier threats involved here." Logan raised an eyebrow at her.
Logan: "Since when do you know so much about this stuff, April? I thought you were the civilian type." April chuckled a bit before looking at him.
April: "Yeah you see, I was. Until a certain someone smashed my heart into pieces." She raised an eyebrow at him, causing Marian to look at him, too.
Logan: "I WAS BEING CONTROLLED!"
Ben, Matt and Gwen: "Barely." Logan glared at them.
April: "Anyway, after that I started getting more and more control over my powers and started to see them as a part of me rather than something I was stuck with. I accidentally saved a Galactic Peace Officer and he deputized me." She smirked at Logan, whose jaw dropped.
Logan: "Wait, wait, wait...you're the new special GPO we've been hearing about?!" Ben looked at her in awe.
Ben: "No way! I heard she's crazy strong! What was her name?.." April smirked again.
April: "It's Nova, thank you." She gave one more glance to Logan before turning around. "In any case, something has to be done about this war and unless one of the other wielders want to take charge, I nominate m-"
She was cut off by Hammerhead flying down and crashing right into the fountain, smashing it into pieces. Everybody quickly stood up and gathered around him.
Hammerhead: "I hate that stupid kid..." Kyle grinned.
Kyle: "Arsenal must be around here, somewhere." Right as he said that, I flew down and landed on the grass, making the ground shake a little. I smiled at everyone.
Omni: "Oh good, everyone made it." I looked around one more time and sighed a little. No sign of Ellie. I know she can hold her own just fine but I don't like not knowing where she is. Even if I may have just destroyed our relationship.
Kyle looked me and up and down before smirking at me.
Kyle: "Kryptonian form, eh? Nice." I smirked back.
Omni: "This is nothing. Wait till I really get warmed up. Speaking of.." I turned to Hammerhead, "Hey Hammerhead."
He opened his eyes and looked at me. I looked him right in the eye and shimmied. He cursed at me under his breath before closing his eyes again.
Kosta rolled his eyes.
Kosta: "If you're done disrespecting the bad guy, can you please fill us in on this plan you were talking about? It's getting pretty bad, out there." Everyone agreed and I nodded, glowing red and reverting back to my normal costumed form.
Matt snickered.
Matt: "Nice outfit, Kakarot. Very fitting for a clown." I rolled my eyes
Trey: "I have to wear a costume, okay? I'm not always transformed and I actually have a life outside of being a superhero now, so I'd like to keep it that way."
Essence: "You couldn't have hidden your identity with a better looking costume?" I rolled my eyes again. Note to self; design a new suit.
Trey: "My totally AWESOME costume aside, Kosta is right. It's getting really bad out there and it could possibly get way worse." Logan raised an eyebrow at me.
Logan: "What are you talking about, dude? How could it get any worse than a city full of fighting meta-humans?" I rubbed the back of my neck.
Trey: "Uh, a city full of fighting meta-humans that might lead to the planet being destroyed..." Everybody shut up as soon as I said that.
Tracy: "Wait, you're gonna have to repeat that. Because I could've sworn I just heard you say the planet might be destroyed." I nodded at her sheepishly.
Terra: "And you couldn't have mentioned this before you sent your scary girlfriend to recruit us?" I looked at the ground when she mentioned Ellie. Charity must've noticed because I heard her mumble "Oh no."
Trey: "I didn't send anybody to do anything, Terra. Hell, I don't fucking know HOW Ellie even got to Earth. If it were up to me, all of you would be going home and leaving me to deal with this." Kyle stood up and came over to me, putting a hand on my shoulder.
Kyle: "Do you really think we'd let you do that, man?"
Matt: "Yeah! I haven't had a good fight since Omega Shenron, there's no way I'm missing this." Kyle looked at him for a second, then turned back to me.
Kyle: "Not exactly what I was getting at. Arsey, you've put your neck out on the line for us who knows how many times. Each one probably more dangerous than the last." April nodded.
April: "He's right, dude. You never hesitate to help anyone so none of us are gonna hesitate to help you. Right, guys?" She looked back at everyone else, who nodded without a second thought. Marian looked a bit skeptical but she nodded nonetheless.
Marian: "Yeah, like you said to me back when we first met. Superheroes stick together." I wish they could see the huge grin on my face. Even though I was terrible to Marian, she still wants to help. She's a true hero.
Trey: "Are you guys sure? I...can't promise this will end well." Ben smiled a bit.
Ben: "Come on, Arsey. You know we'll always have your back. No matter what." He held up his left hand for dap and I accepted, my Ultimatrix muscle and his Ultimatrix meeting again.
To hell with what Sculptor said! My friends and I are gonna do this shit.
Trey: "Okay guys, here's the deal; as you all know, this war has spread through the whole city. You won't find a single block that doesn't have some kind of action on it." I glowed red and transformed into Brainiac, then projected a hologram of Novas City on the ground.
Brainiac: "What you guys don't know is that Tetris Nova's core is also in Novas City." Logan's eyes got wide, along with Charity's and Ben's.
Kosta: "Sorry, I'm not familiar with this cosmic stuff. Somebody explain what a core is." I started to tell him, but Tracy beat me to it.
Tracy: "Think of it like a computer's internal processer. Everything comes from it, nothing works without it."
Kosta: "Ah. Gotcha." I gave Tracy a look and she rolled her eyes.
Tracy: "What? I'm not the same clueless girl I used to be, cuz." I shrugged.
Brainiac: "Fair enough. Anyway, the core is usually buried under a particular street, about 12 blocks away. Problem is, that very street currently has a shit ton of metas fighting on it."
Charity: "Which will eventually wear the street down." I nodded.
Terra: "So why don't we just go over there and clear the street out? It doesn't matter what powers those losers have, they're not a match for all of us."
Ultima: "That wouldn't do much good, Terra. If their fighting is wearing down the street, our combined powers will wear it down even faster."
Kyle: "So that's a no go. But if we can't stop the core from being exposed, what the hell are we gonna do?" I smirked.
Brainiac: "That's where my totally awesome plan comes in. Guys, do you remember when Mongul connected War World to the Earth?" They nodded.
Logan: "How could we forget? We teamed up with speedy from the future." Ben nodded.
Ben: "Yeah, sometimes I look at the little dude and think about how wicked strong he's gonna be. Doesn't seem like the same kid." Charity nodded. I've got to hang out with Victor when this is all over. Everybody seems to love the little guy.
Brainiac: "You guys probably don't know this because I busted it up, but the core was in a container, not buried in the center like we all thought. I'm thinking we move the core and put it in that same kind of container. Then we take out the rest of these thugs, round up Tombstone and Negative, and boom! The planet is saved."
Kyle looked at Kosta, chuckling a bit.
Kyle: "Okay, that is a pretty good plan." Gwen stopped levitating and stood in front of me.
Gwen: "I'm not so convinced, yet. You get put in charge of one city by yourself and now the planet's at risk. How do we know you're even a good hero, without us?" I raised an eyebrow at her and looked at everybody.
Brainiac: "Did she really just say that?"
...
Trey: "Alright guys, so we all clear on the plan?" I was in normal form, in my costume but without my mask, and standing in front of the others. We were inside one of the classrooms, which had been since evacuated.
April raised her hand.
April: "Wait so I'm confused. Why are we splitting up? I thought it'd be better if we all stayed together." Logan nodded.
Logan: "She's right, Trey. In my past, the team is always at its best when Arsenal and Overdrive are operating together. Maybe we should stick with what works." I shook my head.
Trey: "I get where you're coming from, Loges, but this is only gonna work if it's executed by the right people." Logan opened his mouth to say something, then shook his head and decided against it.
Matt: "Yeah, we get to kick ass while you go work away in a lab." Marian rolled her eyes.
Marian: "He happens to have the most important job, Matthew. Something more than just fighting."
Trey: "Which we all will do, by the way. Okay, one more time before we do this thing." They all nodded and I turned to the board, where I'd drawn a diagram with magic marker. "Kyle, Ben, April, Matt and I are Team A. Our job is to go get the core and safely deliver it to NexCorp. We're the most versatile, power wise and we need all our firepower to protect the core."
Matt smirked.
Matt: "Which really means we're the most powerful members."
Kosta: "Wait, so why aren't I going with you guys?! I'm a member of the Infinity Force too." I put my hands up in defense.
Trey: "We need you for something else, bro. Trust me." He sighed and nodded. I turned back to the board. "Logan, Marian, Gwen, Kosta and Terra are Team B. Their job is to clear a path off to NexCorp and when you get there, set to work on some kind of thing to hold the core safely. You don't have a lot of time, but I trust you guys' intelligence."
I nodded at Logan and he winked back at me. I grinned.
Terra: "Wait, so why are me and preppy-Arsenal going? We're not super smart." Gwen grinned.
Gwen: "You guys are the muscle. Not like we need it." Kosta raised an eyebrow at me and I smiled at him, sheepishly and turned back to the board.
Trey: "Tracy, Essence, Aubrie and Charity. You guys go after Mister Negative. He's extremely powerful and I think he can control people so be careful. Oh, and kick some meta-human ass, of course." I looked at the ground, "And..if you see Ellie out there, make sure she's safe."
Charity started to say something but I shook my head. She nodded instead.
Charity: "We won't let you down, Trey." Tracy smirked at her.
Tracy: "Don't be so modest, Chare. We're going to knock this shit outta the park, cuz! Doppelganger's honor." I laughed and nodded at her.
Trey: "I know you will, that's why I chose you guys for this. You girls are crazy strong and he won't see you coming." I smirked at her. "Unless, of course, you're not as awesome as me."
Tracy rolled her eyes, but grinned at me.
Tracy: "Oh, in your dreams, cousin." I smiled at her one more time and turned to everyone else.
Trey: "Okay guys, you all have your missions. This is really important and I trust you all to help keep my home safe." Ben looked at Charity when I said that.
Ben: "Did he just say home?" Charity put a hand on his shoulder.
Trey: "Everybody say your farewells before we split up. We'll be leaving in a bit." I walked off to the back of the classroom, pulling my phone out and pulling up Ellie's contact.
Kyle's POV
I looked at Trey as he sat on the phone, looking kind of anxious. I started to go over there, but Ultima suddenly beamed out of the Ultimatrix and stood in front of me.
Ultima: "I wouldn't go over there. I'm receiving readings from his phone and he's called Ellie over twenty-five times without answer. I think he wants to be alone." I raised an eyebrow at her and looked at Trey again. His face was buried in his hands.
Kyle: "Young adult angst, got it. We're on the same team anyway, we'll have time to chop it up." Ultima nodded happily and beamed back into the watch. As she did, April and Terra came up to me. The look on their faces immediately made me roll my eyes.
Terra: "Long time, no see, Kyle. Why don't you come visit, more often?" She tried to press up against me, but I nudged her back. This stupid shit always happens. Stupid Mobian Attraction power.
Kyle: "I didn't think you'd want that, Terra. Seeing as every time I'm here, you and I are always fighting." April glared at her.
April: "You got to touch him?! Lucky!" At that moment, Charity powered up into her demon form.
Charity: "Everybody duck!" Right as she said that, the wall exploded and the wing of the school started to collapse. Trey got his mask back on right before a horde of metas piled in.
Scorpion guy: "Negative Crew, TAKE THE SCHOOL!" They all cheered and charged at us.
Trey: "Hope you all got your hugs and kisses outta the way, cuz it's hero time!" He glowed red, transforming into a new electric guy.
Blackout: "Remember when I said I was trying to warm up, Kai? This is it." He jumped up and became a bolt of electricity, then flew through 4 metas, quickly shocking them to the ground. He became solid and flexed his muscles a little. I grinned.
Kyle: "Hear that, Ultima? Let's show em how we warm up."
Ultima's voice: "Hell yeah!" I glowed red, transforming into Black Streak, my Mobian form.
Black Streak Kyle: "This should show Arsey who's boss, around here." I got into a running stance and burst forward at exactly Mach 10, easily bouncing off every meta in the room and knocking them out cold. I landed on the ground and smirked at Trey.
Black Streak Kyle: "How's that for a warm up, bro?" Trey rolled his eyes and reverted back to his costumed self.
Trey: "That was totally uncool, Kai. Everyone else has to warm up, too." Kosta put his Omnitrix arm down, having been about to transform. Then he glared at me.
Kosta: "Yeah! I haven't gotten the chance to use any of the aliens I got from you and Sergauson. How am I supposed to do that when you're taking them all out?" I reverted to normal and put my hands up in defense.
Kyle: "Sorry, sorry! Arsenal said we weren't holding back so I thought I'd take him up on that." Gwen rolled her eyes.
Gwen: "Save the showing off for when you're on your team. The rest of us are useful too, ya know."
Aubrie: "Yeah!"
Charity: "Totally!" There was yet another explosion, causing Trey to look at everyone.
Trey: "We should be splitting up now, actually. I don't know how much time we have left." He nodded at Logan.
Logan: "Be careful, brother. Don't do anything stupid while we're apart." Trey chuckled.
Trey: "How could I? You're taking all the stupid with you." Logan rolled his eyes but grinned and they hugged. He said goodbye to Ben and Matt before looking at me.
Logan: "Make sure Trey doesn't get himself killed, huh?" I chuckled, thinking he was joking. But he looked dead serious. I nodded.
Kyle: "Uh, yeah, I got you." He nodded before turning to Kosta, Gwen, Terra and Marian.
Logan: "Let's head out. I want to help as many people as possible before we start building this core container." He grabbed Marian and took off at super speed. Terra grinned at Kosta.
Terra: "You heard the man." She made her symbiote mask come back on. "Time to crush some bones!"
She shot a web line at a near by building and pulled herself out. Kosta chuckled nervously and looked at Trey and I.
Kosta: "I'll watch out for her." Trey grinned at me before looking back at Kosta.
Trey: "I'm sure you will, bro." Kosta's face turned red and he activated his Omnitrix. He slammed it down and after a flash of yellow light, he was Crashhopper. He nodded at us and leaped out through the hole in the wall. Gwen's eyes glowed pink and she smiled at us before flying after them.
Ben wrapped his arms around Aubrie.
Ben: "You already know this, but you guys are gonna give Negative hell." He smiled at her and Aubrie blushed.
Aubrie: "Benny, you're so sweet." She pulled his head down to her and kissed him. Trey grabbed onto my shoulder.
Trey: "My boy Benji has game!" I chuckled at him.
Matt had Essence up against the wall, kissing her softly. I turned to Trey.
Kyle: "They're almost as bad as you and Ellie. How she doing, by the way?" Charity face palmed and Trey glared at me a little, before sighing.
Trey: "You guys go on without me, I have to make a call. I'll send the core location to you and Ben's Ultimatrixes." He turned to the girls. "Good luck, girls. Tell Negative Arsenal says hi, when you kick his ass."
He morphed his legs into Biohazard punk busters and leaped off.
Kyle: "He's so lucky he can do that by himself." Ultima beamed out of the watch.
Ultima: "But that's why you have me. Who needs to be a Doppelganger when you're...with me?" She looked at the ground and I looked at Tracy.
Kyle: "I've been meaning to talk to Trey about this but maybe you can answer my questions. You're a Doppelganger too, right?"
Tracy nodded with a smile.
Tracy: "That's right! I have the potential to do everything my cousin can do. I just haven't really mastered going Ultimate or Fusions yet. And some forms take a bit longer to get used too." My eyes got wide. Trey can fuse on command, too?! It's official, being a Doppelganger has to be the best thing in the Multiverse. I wonder if Trey and Tracy could beat Bella in a fight.
Kyle: "Okay good, so you can help us. You know Ultima and I's situation, right?" Tracy thought about it for a second.
Tracy: "You mean how she came to life and spread through your entire nervous system and internal organs. Not to mention your DNA?" I nodded, slowly.
Kyle: "Uh yeah, exactly. Well, I've been noticing these side effects that resemble some of Trey's powers and I was wondering if-"
Tracy: "If you're a Doppelganger, now." I stopped and nodded sheepishly.
Charity: "Trace, we gotta go!" Tracy nodded at her, then turned back to me.
Tracy: "Let me ask you a question. How much sleep do you get at night?" I looked at Ben, who shrugged.
Kyle: "Uh, around 8, I think." Tracy shook her head.
Tracy: "Doppelgangers need no more than 3 hours of sleep. We can nap but we generally are awake most of the time." I nodded. So insomnia is a Doppelganger side effect. I sleep just fine.
Tracy: "Next question. Do you have any significant strength enhancement in your normal form?" I shook my head.
Kyle: "Not really. Speed is more my thing. Should I?" Tracy smirked.
Tracy: "Doppelganger bodies are naturally strong and durable. I have to be careful not to rip doors off the hinges and I'm sure Trey's found some way to repress his strength." Enhanced strength is out, too. My body is more durable than normal but that's because of all the training I do.
Kyle: "Anything else?" Tracy thought about it for a second.
Tracy: "Um, how many calories do you consume a day?" I just stared at her.
Kyle: "I...uh, I'm not sure."
Ultima: "Kyle consumes exactly 4,357 calories every day. Quite a lot."
Tracy: "Doppelgangers generally consume around 15,000 calories a day because our metabolism is insane. I personally prefer hot wings." Ultima and I's jaws dropped. No wonder Trey always eats like that, he's literally gotta be hungry all the time.
Tracy: "Enhanced hearing? Sight?" I nodded at that one.
Kyle: "I can hear superhumanly. I've always had 20/20 vision so nothing really changed."
Charity: "I have enhanced hearing too, though. I think that's an ability pretty much every person with powers has."
Ben: "Besides me." He looked down at his Ultimatrix.
Tracy: "Okay last question. Do you still age normally?" I raised an eyebrow at her.
Kyle: "What do you mean? Of course I do. Wait, you guys don't?" Tracy shook her head.
Tracy: "Aliens don't really age, in a physical sense. We can alter what we look like to match our biological 's double for Trey, who pretty much halted aging when he was turned into a Doppelganger. I was technically born when I was 13 so that's the age I've pretty much always been. I just learned to look older." My jaw was on the ground at this point. So Trey and Tracy are going to be around forever? I definitely don't have that power.
Kyle: "Ultima, what's my projected lifespan?" The Ultimatrix faceplate beeped for a second.
Ultima: "According to my estimations, your body will continue to function at peak levels until my battery shuts down. In approximately 1,000,599 years." Holy fucking shit!
Kyle: "Wait, seriously? I'm gonna be around for another million years?" Ultima nodded and grinned.
April: "So not immortal, but gonna live for a long ass time." Tracy looked me up and down.
Tracy: "I've never seen anything like you, dude. I know you're not a Doppelganger but I have no idea what you actually are." I groaned.
Kyle: "Great, so I'm back at square one." She got closer to me and put a hand on my shoulder.
Tracy: "You'll figure it out, Kai. Sorry I couldn't be more help." With that, she glowed purple and transformed into Stinkfly before taking off with her team. Ben gave me a worried look.
Ben: "You okay, 10K? I know I'm not your Ben but I'll do, in a pinch." I chuckled.
Kyle: "I'll be fine, Benster." Suddenly, his Ultimatrix beeped, along with mine.
Ben: "It's the coordinates to the core location. We can go now." I nodded and Matt hopped off one of the desks.
Matt: "Finally! I've been waiting to go Super Saiyan since we got here." He powered up in a golden aura and transformed into his Super Saiyan form. His curly hair was bright yellow, his eyes were light green and his aura was bright gold.
Kyle: "You can do that, too?! That's it, I need more training as Bardock." April powered up and hovered in the air a little. Ben activated his watch and slammed it down, transforming into Astrodactyl. I glowed red and became Ironheart.
Ironheart Kyle: "Trey said he'd catch up with us. I guess I'll get a head start on the going all out, without him." We all took off after that.
Ellie's POV
I climbed up a wall and took off running across a roof top.
'I think we should slow things down a little.' His words keep running through my head. And I thought he loved me.
I did a front flip over the edge and pushed myself off the wall, then sprouted my wings and burst forward.
Ellie: "How could I have been so fucking stupid? Of course he doesn't love me. Why would he?" I really fooled myself into thinking someone as great as Trey Sergauson would ever love someone as messed up as me.
I landed on the fire escape of our apartment and climbed through the window. I looked around and sighed.
Ellie: "Really gonna miss this place." I decided to come back and grab my blood packets, then take off. Trey obviously doesn't share my feelings and I won't let myself be in another one-sided relationship.
I zoomed into my room at vampire speed and reached under my bed, grabbing my yellow satchel and swinging it around my shoulder. I've actually taken a liking to the color yellow, ironically. It reminds me of sunshine, the closest thing I can have to it.
I stood up and walked toward my blood refrigerator. Before I could open it though, a mist of smoke wrapped around the top of it. My eyes got wide and I started to step back.
Ellie: "Oh no.." The smoke disappeared being replaced by Damien Hargrave, my ex-mate. He was sitting on top of my fridge, looking as handsome and classy as ever. That's what always had me fooled.
Damien: "Eliasia. As beautiful as ever." I continued to step back. As soon as I get to my door, I'm bolting out the window.
Ellie: "Damien. How did you find me?" He chuckled and hopped onto the floor.
Damien: "Did you really think you could be apart from me for long, Eliasia? You and I are destiny." I cringed at his words before remembering something. I'm not the same scared little vampire girl Damien used to know.
Ellie: "Like I told you when I left, Damien, I don't believe in destiny. Especially one that involves being with you." He suddenly zoomed up to me, stopping inches away from my face.
Damien: "Your words wound me, beloved, truly they do. Especially since I've done nothing to deserve this treatment." I raised a hand and started caressing my cheek with his thumb. "Nothing except love you."
My eyes switched to cat ones as I glared two feet upwards to look him in the eyes.
Ellie: "Love me? LOVE ME?!" I put my hand on his chest and pushed him, sending him flying back into the wall. I bared my fangs and zoomed toward him, stopping right in front of him. "I don't know what you felt towards me while we were together, Damien, but I know damn fucking well it wasn't love. You broke me in a way that should never be done to a loved one."
He didn't look phased at all by my outburst. I don't know who does the whole 'Calm and Collected' thing better, Trey or this prick.
Damien: "And, how would you know that? When have you ever been exposed to anything other than the life I gave you? How would you know anything about what love really is?" Nothing would make me happier than telling him about Trey and everything he's done for me. Not just saving my life and letting me stay here, but our entire relationship. Nothing would brighten up my mood more than wiping that stupid grin off Damien's face by telling him I found a mate that actually does love me.
Then I remembered. He doesn't.
I took a step back from Damien, looking at the ground.
Ellie: "I...I wouldn't know." He smirked and stepped toward me.
Damien: "Exactly, my dear. And, why would you? After all, you're a vampire, a creature of the night, a monster. Love is not made for people like you." He brought my head up to look at him and I tried to hold back my tears.
Ellie: "What do you want from me? Didn't you get enough kicks out of hurting me, before?" He laughed a bit before grinning again, showcasing a set of fangs much sharper than mine.
Damien: "What do I want? Oh Eliasia, I thought it would be obvious. Since you left my side, fifty-six years ago, I have made it my mission to bring you back and fulfill what our families always wanted; the perfect vampire mates to rule the faction." I looked at him in horror.
I promised myself I'd rather die than ever be Damien's mate ever again. When my Uncle Edgar made that deal with the Hargraves for me to be with Damien, it was one of the worst periods of my life. Right up there with being a newborn vampire.
Ellie: "But...you're a prince! You can pick anybody to be your mate. Why me?" He stepped even closer to me, his ice cold breath blowing on my neck.
Damien: "Because you, Ellie, already belong to me." He stepped away from me, grinning at my broken demeanour. "You don't have to come, right now. I will give you time to sort out whatever you need to but do not try to run again. It will not go well for you or any of the little humans you have befriended. The boy with the braids would make a fine snack."
I resisted the urge to laugh. If only he knew that very same boy he's threatening is probably the only person who can really kill him. If only Trey's secret identity wasn't so important. Besides, why would Trey even care about me going back with Damien? It's not like I mean anything to him. Maybe I've spent too much time running from my actual fate.
Ellie: "Okay. I won't run." He smirked.
Damien: "Good girl." He leaned in to kiss me and I almost let him, until a memory of Trey and I in the same position rushed into my head. He is still my boyfriend and I really do love him so the last thing I want to do is cheat on him.
I moved my lips away from Damien.
Ellie: "Don't push your luck." He simply chuckled breathlessly and stepped away from me.
Damien: "Just as feisty as I remember. I look forward to having you back in my bed." I grimaced at his words and he jumped up, disappearing in a burst of smoke. I sighed in relief.
Ellie: "Fucking creep. How the fuck did he find me? The only person that should be able to track me is Uncle Edgar." My eyes widened in realization. "Who got his ass kicked by Arsenal and probably was mad enough to blab to Damien."
I shook my head and walked toward my room door, dropping my satchel on my bed on the way.
Ellie: "So taking off is out because of a Hargrave-sized pain in my ass, my mate doesn't love me, and I've got a fuck ton of pent up aggression. I think now would be a perfect time to begin my solo superhero career." I quickly flitted back to my room at vampire speed and came back out in something I've been secretly working on for weeks; my costume! I was wearing a yellow shirt with a bat sewed on the chest, black track pants and a black leather jacket with the sleeves rolled up. I also had black boots on and my hair was tied back in a ponytail with a couple strands out.
I looked at myself and smiled a little.
Ellie: "Doesn't come out of my skin but still hella stylish." I placed a domino mask on my face and zoomed over to the window, climbing out onto the fire escape. I looked down, not even being able to see the street because of all the metas. "Novas City, meet Vixen."
I leaped off the fire escape, cracking my fist as I fell to the street.
Ellie: "Bad guys, meet Vixen's fist!" I landed on the street and immediately roundhouse kicked a plant meta across the throat, knocking the wind completely out of him. I jumped up and slammed him over the head. He bounced off the pavement and I grabbed leg, then slammed him into a meta with giant wooden arms.
Stone meta: "This dame's got hands. Too bad she can't take us all at once. For Tombstone!"
Other metas: "FOR TOMBSTONE!" They all charged at me and I got in a fighting stance, ready to kick some ass. My speed, strength and swarm should be enough to handle these guys. I probably shouldn't pull my punches either.
A meta with green skin got ahead of the crowd and jumped st me, morphing into a giant green leopard. He roared as he slashed at me, but I flipped up and slammed my foot into his neck. He fell onto the pavement and turned back to his normal form. Another meta absorbed electricity from a light pole and fired a beam of red electricity at me. My eyes got wide and I became my bat swarm to avoid it, then flew over to him and became myself again. I sent one punch to his stomach that knocked the spit out of his mouth, sent one hard knee to his jaw that might've shattered his teeth if he weren't a meta, then finished him with a drop kick to his entire face, sending him flying into the air. I swiftly turned into my bat swarm and flew over to a fire hydrant, then became myself, pulled the top open with my vampire strength, and directed the water at the electric meta. It shorted him out and he fell to the street, sizzling. A meta used sonic rays from his feet to charge at me, firing a sonic wave from his hand. I covered my ears and snarled in pain, giving him the opening to kick me across the face. I stumbled back a little before looking at him and snarling, showing him one of my fangs. He gulped and used a sonic wave to launch himself into the air. I sprouted my wings and took off after him, easily catching up to him and slamming him back down to the ground, right on top of a...guy made of cheese.
Ellie: "And here I thought just being a vampire was weird. Being a superhero is a whole new lev-" I was cut off by a chain wrapping around my neck from below and harshly pulling me downward. I slammed into the street hard, where I was immediately met with a sandstorm to the face. I flew into the side of a building, where I was held by a meta's enlarged tar fist. The tar started to ooze up my body and cover my face and nose! I struggled to get free but it's like trying to fight cement.
Tar meta: "Shoulda thought twice before trying to play hero, girly. Bet you never guessed this is how you'd die." The tar started covering my whole body, quickly working its way up my throat.
Ellie: "If it weren't for my vampire lungs, I'd be dead right now. Not sure if they'll work if they're drowning in tar, though." I tried to use my claws to cut my way out but my hands were immediately covered in tar, as were my wings. "Shit."
Right as the tar got to my face, Tar Face was launched back into a car by a vibrating force. It stopped, revealing itself to be Aubrie with Skurd morphing her feet into pink speedster ones. She looked at me with relief before she realized I was about to suffocate, then she looked behind her.
Aubrie: "I THINK I FOUND HER, GUYS! SHE NEEDS HELP!" As soon as she said that, a flaming portal opened and out came Charity and her sister. They were both in demon form, but Essence's wasn't as evolved.
Charity: "We'll have you out of here in no time, Ellie." She summoned a chain and started to spin it quickly, forming a hellfire buzzsaw. She carefully started to cut me out of the tar.
Essence: "Steady, girl. It took Matt two months to heal after you accidentally cut him with one of those." Charity and I both glared at her.
Charity: "You are literally doing the opposite of helping, right now." She kept cutting until I could free myself and I clawed out of the tar. I quickly spun around at vampire speed to clean myself up, then turned to Charity.
Ellie: "Um, thanks. I totally would've died if you all didn't step in." Charity looked at the ground.
Charity: "Yeah, no problem. We are heroes, after all." She looked up at me, taking in my costume. "Nice suit. Where did you get it?"
Ellie: "I made it, actually. I wanted to help Arsenal and be a hero but maybe...go out and do stuff with Trey too. It was supposed to be a surprise..." I tensed up a little and looked at the ground. Charity turned back to normal and gave me a serious look.
Charity: "Okay, I know we have our differences but it's clear both you and Treez are hurt by what happened and I want to help. So what exactly is it that happened?" I laughed dryly in response.
Ellie: "Yeah fucking right. Why would he be hurt? He's the one who doesn't love me." Her eyes got wide but before she could respond, several metas came flying down and landed on the street, sparkling with electricity. Shortly after, a tall, slim pink and blue sasquatch with electric hands landed in front of us. It had the same symbol as Arsenal, only purple.
Shocksquatch Tracy: "Come on, ladies. We're not gonna beat down Negative by standing here." I looked at Charity.
Ellie: "What is she talking about? You guys are going after Negative?" Essence nodded.
Essence: "Yeah, your boyfriend gave everyone missions and ours is to fuck up some crime boss while the others do the planet-saving stuff." I rolled my eyes under my mask. Typical Arsenal to take all the important missions for himself. Eh, at least I'll get to break a few of Negative's ribs for trying to kill me.
Ellie: "Sounds like fun. What are we waiting for?" Before anybody could say anything, I took off at vampire speed, toward the huge crowd of metas.
Tracy's POV
I chuckled a little and turned to the others.
Shocksquatch Tracy: "I see why Trey likes her so much. She's about that action!" I glowed purple and became one of the very first forms I didn't learn about from Trey. I was a silver and white alien with some kind of purple energy/electricity for hair. My bottom half was a giant ball of that same energy and I also had purple eyes. The symbol was on my stomach.
Burnout Tracy: "Shall we?" My energy ball glowed purple and I took off at super speed, slamming straight into a meta with superhuman fat. I immediately bounced off him and went flying toward a regular looking guy with glasses. I became Chill Factor in mid-air and slid down to him with an ice slide. I prepared to punch him, but he put his hand up and the street around us crumbled, sending me falling into an abyss. Charity's eyes got wide.
Charity: "TRACY! Aubrie, Skurd, help her!" Aubrie nailed another meta with her orange-rock covered fist, then nodded.
Aubrie: "Skurd, booster pack!"
Skurd: "Right away!" He slithered down her back and formed into a Fleet jetpack, then Aubrie blasted off into the air. She got a bit of height then nose dived into the abyss after me.
Essence and Charity launched chains around a giant meta's legs and sent necroplasm down them, burning the meta and making him fall to the ground.
Essence: "You know, this is kinda fun." She jumped over a meta with rocket booster legs and sent a ball of necroplasm after him. "Matt and I don't get to do a lot of fighting back on Planet Vegeta since it's so peaceful."
Charity nodded and jumped through a necro-portal, coming out next to a female Bigfoot meta and nailing her in the back of the head with a shell from her hellfire shotgun. She didn't go down, instead turning around and roaring. A sonic wave launched out of her mouth, sending Charity soaring through the air but she shot her chains out and used them to swing herself to the ground.
Lady Bigfoot: "You Tombstone whores have a lot of nerve coming to the east side and starting trouble. It's only a matter of time before we take all of you out." I suddenly zoomed in behind her as XLR8.
XLR8 Tracy: "Look, I'm all for the female gang representation, believe me. But we don't work for Tombstone." I became Muscle-Face, my version of Fleshwalker, and leaped up, then punched her in the back of the head. She bounced off the concrete and flew toward Aubrie.
Aubrie: "Let's finish her off, Skurd!" He nodded eagerly and oozed down to her left hand, forming a Nanomech photon cannon. She fired, nailing Lady Bigfoot spot on and knocking her back into a light pole. I landed in front of her, along with the others, then became D-Fense, a pink alien with a purple and black jumpsuit, purple eyes and the symbol on my chest, and formed a huge forcefield around us to protect us from the other metas.
D-Fense Tracy: "Alright guys, I don't know how long I can hold this so let's find out what she knows quickly." Charity nodded and turned toward Lady Bigfoot.
Charity: "We're in a hurry, sis, so I'd appreciate it if you'd tell us where your boss is hiding so we can go have a word with him."
Lady Bigfoot: "No chance in hell! Get away from me!" She started to get up but Ellie pushed her right back down with ease, then pulled the light pole out of the ground with one hand and wrapped it around her.
Ellie: "Don't make us ask you again. She asked nicely, I won't." She hissed at her, baring her fangs. Her face turned from mad to scared shitless. Even I kinda felt a chill go down my spine and I'm 97% sure I can take her.
Lady Bigfoot: "There's a warehouse, right on the outskirts of the city, that Mister Negative uses to store his product. He told us all to regroup there after we win the war."
Skurd slithered down to Aubrie's throat and she screamed, launching a sonic burst at Lady Bigfoot and knocking her out cold.
Aubrie: "There we go." We all looked at her in confusion.
Essence: "Okay, I'll say it. What the fuck did you do that for?" Aubrie looked back at her with confusion.
Aubrie: "What do you mean? Benny always knocks his bad guys out after they give him info. I thought that was the rule." Everyone laughed and I shook my head.
D-Fense Tracy: "She told us all we needed, anyway. Now all we gotta do is fight our way through a shit ton of metas to get to the outskirts of town." Ellie grinned at me.
Ellie: "Sounds like fun to me. Just what I need to take my mind off stuff." Charity started to say something but Ellie shook her head so she didn't.
I glowed purple, transforming into an older version of myself with long hair down to my back, some kind of metal battle armor, and a black cape. The symbol was on my chest.
Tracy: "I heard my cousin say something about going all out. I thought I'd bring out Valkyrie." Everyone looked me up and down.
Charity: "You're pretty, don't get me wrong. But what's so special about this form?" I smirked.
Valkyrie Tracy: "Oh, nothing. It just hails from Asgard." I raised my hand into the air and lightning struck. Suddenly, a hammer came flying down from the sky and landed in my hand. I spun it around and slammed it into a meta's jaw, electrocuting him and sending him flying. A cyborg meta came at me with some kind of glowing claws, but I weaved around them and used my hammer to trip him up. He fell to the ground, where I jammed my hammer into his chest. A burst of electricity rushed through him and he was out cold. I spun my hammer again and launched it forward, letting it fly me down the street toward the outskirts.
Aubrie: "Hey! At least wait for us!"
Charity: "Like cousin, like cousin." Skurd slithered down to Aubrie's arms and formed Sandbox spiked maces, then she charged forward. Essence's cloak turned into wings and she flew after her.
Charity turned to Ellie.
Charity: "Are you sure you're okay, Ellie? I know Trey could be kind of confusing, sometimes." Ellie looked at the ground before sighing and looking at her.
Ellie: "You are his best friend, maybe you can help me make sense of him. Wanna talk while he kick ass?" Charity looked at her skeptically before finally nodding. She took Ellie's hand and they zoomed after the others.
Trey's POV
April: "Guys, this is totally ridiculous. We've been up here for like 10 minutes." We were all on top of a building, about 9 blocks away from where the core is buried. Kyle, Ben and I were huddled in a circle, along with Ultima.
Trey: "Okay, we're all using our best forms, right? So I'm thinking a little Goku action, Chromastone because I'm feeling saucy, Firecracker, Parasyte, Mimic and maybe a few fusions." Kyle chuckled at me and turned to Ultima.
Kyle: "Sounds cute. Ultima, I'm thinking Bardock, UltraKai, Super GekiRed, Chalcedony, and if needed, maybe Arsenal." I shot him a look.
Trey: "Bullshit, using your Doppelganger form is totally overkill." Ben chuckled.
Ben: "Says the actual Doppelganger." He turned on his watch and scrolled through some of his forms. "Hmmm, Hellsing is totally kick butt. Slambot, Fallout, I've had a lot of practice with Diamondhead. Don't really have that many forms to choose from.."
He gave me the puppy dog look and I chuckled a bit.
Trey: "Hold out your watch." He did and I made the dial pop up, then twisted it back and forth exactly 5 times. The faceplate glowed green.
Ben's Ultimatrix: "New DNA samples unlocked. A total of 10 new forms have been added to the roster, bringing the count to 27." Ben's eyes lit up as he scrolled through his new forms.
Ben: "Awesome! You rock, Arsey." Matt rolled his eyes and stood up from where he was leaning.
Matt: "Yeah yeah, Kakarot is the greatest. Now can we fucking do this, already?" April pointed at him and nodded. I chuckled and nodded, walking toward the edge of the building. I turned to the others, grinning under my mask.
Trey: "This is where the real fun starts. Try not to get overwhelmed by my awesome." I shot the peace symbol and jumped off the ledge, transforming into Firecracker in a burst of red light. I did a backflip in mid air and fell toward the ground. Kyle nodded at Ultima and she beamed back into his watch. He glowed red, bursting out of the red glow as UltraKai, his Ultimos form, and flying after me.
Matt: "Finally!" He went Super Saiyan and flew after us, leaving April with Ben.
April: "You gonna use a new form?" Ben nodded eagerly and turned on his watch.
Ben: "Sure am! Arsenal and Kyle 10 are going all out so Changeling has to be right behind them. Just like with Eon and Stan." He looked up at April, seeing her eyes glowing rainbow. "You've been a meta for a long time so you must be wicked strong, right?"
April smiled a bit.
April: "Something like that." She suddenly powered up in a rainbow aura and the rooftop started to crumble. Her body started to grow rainbow Chromastone crystals and her eyes turned snow white and pupil-less. Ben's eyes got wide.
Ben: "Whoa..."
April: "See you down there." She took off after that. Ben looked down at his watch and started scrolling again.
Ben: "Let's see what we've got. Biohazard, nice. Wildmutt, Common Cold, ooooooo, Hellraiser! Trey owned Darkseid with this one." He quickly slammed the core down. His body erupted in a green glow and his body morphed. He grew to about 9 feet tall and skin turned grey as his muscles expanded to the size of boulders. His hair grew down to the back of his neck and turned black, he grew a long beard, and a black leather jacket with the symbol on his left side. He finished off the transformation looking like Lobo from DC.
Hellraiser Ben: "Alright, hero time!" He leaped up and off the building.
...
I leaped up and sent a spinning roundhouse kick to an ice metas face, then landed and punched a cannon ball right back where it came from. It nailed the meta who shot it in the face, knocking her to the ground. Some kind of meta with horse legs charged at me, but I did a quick handspring and landed on his back.
Firecracker: "Hey man, how much you charging for pony rides?" He tried to grab me but I grabbed his arms, leaped up, and flipped him. His jaw hit my knee and fell to the ground, out cold. I was about to celebrate, but I was nailed in the back by some kind of energy. I tumbled into a pile of unconscious metas and looked up, seeing a a guy with golden hair and yellow glowing eyes. He had on a yellow jumpsuit and looked annoyingly familiar.
Sentry: "Arsenal, just the fucking shmuck I was hoping would be out here. I've got an itch to scratch!" He powered up and charged at me, shooting a yellow beam as he flew. I ducked under the beam and became Chromastone, then crossed my arms over my face to block Sentry's fist.
Chromastone: "That's kinda weird, dude. You've got a weird itch and you come looking for me." I powered up in a rainbow aura and pushed him back a little, then burst forward and sent a cosmic powered right hook to his jaw, sending him flying back.
Chromastone: "Benji, he's coming your way!" Ben, still Hellraiser, wrapped a chain around a plant meta's neck and pulled him toward him, then headbutt him to the ground. He looked up, seeing Sentry flying toward him.
Hellraiser Ben: "Whoa, he's glowing. I got him!" He slapped his symbol, becoming a tall, bulky, white robot with hands that were attached to slinkys. He had green eyes and the symbol on his chest.
Ben: "SLAMBOT!" Rocket thrusters folded out of his feet and he burst upward toward Sentry, swinging his slinky arm as he did. He got closer and nailed Sentry across the face, sending him crashing into a building.
Chromastone: "It's scary how good we are, Changeling." He landed and we gave each other a body bump. He grinned.
Slambot Ben: "Best hero duo in the game, right now. That's for sure." We heard someone laugh and turned around, seeing Kyle as one of his forms I've never seen before. It was basically the Red Power Ranger from Jungle Fury with the symbol on his chest.
Super GekiRed Kyle: "I think me and my Ben would have something to say about that." He powered up and a red spirit tiger appeared behind him. Then he ran forward with the speed of a jaguar and pounced at a meta with his eyes closed. Kyle kicked at him, but the meta suddenly opened his eyes and caught his leg, then jumped up and slammed Kyle to the pavement. Ben and I grimaced.
Chromastone: "Ooo, that's gonna leave a mark." I became Parasyte and unfolded my wings, then flew at the meta with my tendrils formed into scythes. He ducked under one, weaved around another one, then jumped up and sent a Superman UFC punch to my face. Cars flew back at the impact and I tumbled to the street and slid, knocking out several metas. Ben slapped his symbol and became Fallout, then powered up energy in his hands and jumped up, attempting to drop it on the meta, only for him to effortlessly catch the energy and slam it back into Ben's face. Kyle launched himself off a car and became Bardock, his Saiyan form that is named after my dad for some reason, then launched a ki blast at the meta, who simply slapped it away.
Bardock Kyle: "Shit man, the fuck kinda meta are you?" He smirked.
Meta: "The infinitely strong and invulnerable kind. Nothing on this planet can hurt me." Matt suddenly flew in, in normal form, and kicked at Steel's throat, doing no damage. Steel turned to look at him and clocked him in the teeth, sending him flying back too. Before he hit the ground, there was a burst of red light and I caught him as Goku. I smirked at him a little.
Goku: "You a little rusty, bro?" He glared up at me and wiggled out of my grip, hovering in the air next to me.
Matt: "Do not patronize me, Kakarot. I can't hold back and try not to get my ass kicked at the same time." I looked down the street, seeing we were getting closer to where the core was. The street was starting to leak radiation, meaning the core was starting to get exposed. Then I shrugged at Matt.
Goku: "Then don't, bro. We don't know how much time we have left so we need to take these guys out quickly." I suddenly exploded in a golden aura and erupted in Super Saiyan form. "But try to have fun with it. Otherwise, what's the point?"
I powered up and charged at Steel.
Matt: "No you don't, Kakarot! You're not the only Super Saiyan anymore." He crossed his arms over his chest and powered up into Super Saiyan form in an instant, then charged after me.
Kyle took a punch from Steel to the face and stumbled back, then went right back at him, sent two haymakers to his jaw, and kneed him in the gut. Steel just grinned.
Steel: "That was a pretty hard hit, Arsenal. Although, I thought it'd be stronger." He grabbed Kyle's knee and sent a foot into his hamstring, then crashed his forehead into Kyle's nose. It cracked and Kyle went flying into a car.
Bardock Kyle: "Not Arsenal, by the way." He smirked and nodded upward. "He is."
Steel looked up in confusion, just in time to catch a Super Saiyan-powered knee to the face. He flew to the concrete and bounced off, meeting my roundhouse kick perfectly. He flew down the street, but recovered in mid-air and landed on his feet.
Steel: "You think a hair change will beat me, Arsenal? I am-" Matt appeared right behind him and elbowed him in the temple before he could finish. He tumbled to the right, right into Matt's charged up right hook. He went flying straight into a mailbox. I flew down and hovered next to Matt.
SSJ Goku: "Nice shot, dude. I think you broke a tooth." He chuckled.
SSJ Matt: "You too, Kakarot. We do make a good combo, especially as Super Saiyans." We high-fived. Kyle came flying down, hovering next to us.
Bardock Kyle: "Oh, no way. You guys are having a Super Saiyan party without me?!" I managed to hold in my laugh, then looked at Matt and back at Kyle.
SSJ Goku: "Didn't mean to leave you out, Kai. Just didn't know you could even turn into a Super Saiyan. It's a pure of heart thing."
SSJ Matt: "Or a moment of intense selflessness." I grinned at Matt.
SSJ Goku: "Which you felt for you girlfriend's sister."
SSJ Matt: "Shut up." Kyle shook his head.
Bardock Kyle: "Either way, a Super Saiyan I am, indeed. Check it out." He flexed his muscles and the ground started to rumble. He powered up in a familiar golden aura and emerged as a Super Saiyan too. Smirking, he looked at us.
SSJ Bardock Kyle: "Told ya. This isn't even as far as my Saiyan form goes. When I fought Beerus, I pushed myself all the way to Super Saiyan God." My eyes got wide. Did he just say he fought Beerus? Lord Beerus?
Before I could question him more, Steel came leaping from behind Kyle. I was about to warn him, but he simply smiled and turned around at incredible speed, slamming a Kamehameha blast straight into his face. He went flying into some power lines and got electrocuted, falling to the ground out cold. Kyle grinned at Matt and I before charging off toward Ben and April, who were a bit ahead of us.
SSJ Goku: "So is Super Saiyan not a prestigious thing, anymore?" Matt shook his head.
SSJ Matt: "Apparently not." We powered up and charged forward too.
April let off two colorful beams at a meta made of silly putty, then turned around and headbutt a meta with a wrecking ball arm. He flew back, but recovered and sent his wrecking ball out to nail her in the face. She powered her fist up and punched away before it could, then powered her whole body up and flew at him at full speed, smashing both her fists into Wrecking Ball's jaw and nose. Both started to leak blood and April sent a rainbow energy ball right into Wrecking Ball's face, causing a mix of colors to burst into the air. When everything cleared, there was a massive crater and Wrecking Ball was passed out, steam coming from his back. She smiled.
April: "Arsenal was right, letting loose a bit is fun." She easily blocked a punch with her palm and looked at the guy with an eyebrow raised, then pushed his face with her hand. He rocketed backwards, once again knocking down Giant Man. There was a flash of green light and Ben flew out as Biohazard with green eyes, activating his Smack Hands and knocking out several metas.
Biohazard Ben: "He used to use Biohazard like crazy, back in the day. Time to see what he liked so much." He took off into the air and launched a couple of doom discs as some giant robots, blowing holes in their torsos. He turned his left arm into a BFS and chopped one robot's head off, then turned his right arm into a Boo-Yah Blaster and blasted the other one's head clean off. A meta with Igneo powers came flying past him on a floating rock and launched a boulder at him, only for Ben to chop it in half with his BFS, then turn his hand into a Whipfist and launch it at the Igneo meta. It wrapped around his neck and Ben pulled him back, meeting him with two Punk Busters to the top of the head. He flew down to the ground, out cold. He flew down and landed next to April.
April: "Okay, maybe you are awesome." Ben smirked.
Biohazard Ben: "Told you." A huge explosion made both of them turn around.
April: "The hell? What's going on?" Ben looked up, noticing the familiar golden aura glow, and grinned.
Biohazard Ben: "I think I have a pretty good guess." He turned his legs into the Sly Rider and flew forward a bit, April following. Piles of knocked out metas were sprawled along the street, leading up to the source; Kyle, Matt and I kicking all kinds of ass as Super Saiyans.
April: "Whoa..." I smirked at them and powered up some more, then flew at two brutes. They both swung at me but I weaved around one of their fists and slammed the heel of my foot into his stomach, then caught the other one's fist, picked him up and swung him into the other one. They both tumbled to the ground. Some kind of meta with orange eyes came at me, morphing into an orange rock monster. He swung his fist at me but I met it with my own to stop it, then flipped around and kicked him in the jaw with all my strength. Rocks flew off of him but he merely stumbled back and came right back at me. I ducked under one swing from him, spun around another and side-stepped a third, them sent a small ki ball with Super Saiyan energy into his face, knocking him out for the count. I looked at Kyle and did a little two-step dance before flying at more metas.
SSJ Bardock Kyle: "And Ali says I'm a show off?" He let off a stream of ki balls at a meta and his clones, knocking them all out, then teleported behind a meta made of silly putty and slammed both his fists into his face. Putty recovered quickly and shot his arms out to wrap around Kyle's arms, then started to wrap around his whole body, only for Kyle to burst free in a golden aura and pummel Putty with his fists. He looked up to see a swarm of bees flying toward him, then cupped his hands together and launched a Kamehameha blast at it, blowing them to hell.
Two knights with laser swords slashed at Matt, but he easily blocked caught them with his bare hands and snatched them away. Then he dropped to the floor and sweep-kicked their legs and, sending them toward the street, where Matt met them with a swift spinning roundhouse kick to both of their faces. They dropped, out cold, and Matt set his sights on a giant toy robot. He flew up to it and tried to punch it, only for it to take no damage and nail him with a photon ray that folded put of its head. Matt flew back but quickly recovered and started to fly at the robot with his arms extended. He flew straight through its chest and the robot fell to the ground.
Biohazard Ben: "It's a whole triangle of Super Saiyans, April!" His symbol made the time out noise and he reverted to normal. "Great, I gotta recharge. Should've asked Arsenal for the Master Control feature."
April powered down a little and continued to watch the three of us fight.
April: "No worries, Ben, it doesn't look like we're needed right now." She looked around, noticing the street was torn open in some places, then looked at Ben. "We should grab the core while the guys are distracting all the metas."
Ben: "Good idea. The faster we have it, the faster we can deliver it to Logan and the others." The two of them walked up the street a bit, making sure to avoid the flying metas that we were throwing around, until they got to a street with a Post Office on it. Ben's Ultimatrix faceplate popped up, showing a holographic exclamation point.
Ben's Ultimatrix: "Warning. Extremely large amounts of radiation detected in this area. Caution is advised." Ben nodded at it, then looked at April.
Ben: "My watch says it should be right beneath this street. And I believe it, considering there's an ominous mist coming from it." April nodded and started to power up.
April: "Gotcha. I'll have it on the surface in no time." She lightly hopped up and slammed the ground, causing it to completely crumble to pieces. There, surrounded by gravel, was a glowing energy sphere that was about the size of a basketball.
Ben: "We found it! Nice job, Nova." She smiled at him, nodding.
Ben's Ultimatrix: "Radiation levels climbing to fatal levels. Automatic recharge mode activated to protect the host." The faceplate glowed green and Ben quickly activated it, transforming into Diamondhead.
Diamondhead Ben: "Awesome. Now I can do this.." He gently put his hand on the core and encased it in a diamond casing to protect it. Then he picked it up.
April: "Good thinking, Ben!" At that moment, Kyle, Matt and I flew down and landed next to them.
SSJ Bardock Kyle: "Man, we totally owned like 150 metas back there!" Matt chuckled.
SSJ Matt: "At least. They were no match for an elite Saiyan warrior. Oh, and you guys." Kyle glared at him and I laughed, then turned to the others.
SSJ Goku: "You guys find the core?" Ben nodded quickly, holding it up for me.
Diamondhead Ben: "Yep! Now all we gotta do is get it to Logan's team at NexCorp. Once we get back to the main street, a path should be cleared for us." I nodded and powered down to regular Goku, then reverted to my normal costumed form. I turned my hand into a Web Head one and webbed some straps to the diamond container so I can wear it as a backpack. I put it on my back and looked back at the others.
Trey: "The diamond should stop any radiation from leaking out and my Doppelganger physiology should protect me, anyway. Let's m-" Before I could finish my sentence, I started to feel an aura. Yeah, I'm feeling about a million different auruas right now because of the war, but this one feels...familiar.
Voice: "Arsenal..long time, no see." We all looked up to see...Vulcan! The very first big bad I took down on Tetris Nova, former Police Captain and CoCo's Dad. I glared at him under my mask.
Trey: "I was hoping to keep it that way, Butler. This city has enough to deal with without the president of the dead-beat dad society showing up." Kyle turned to me.
SSJ Bardock Kyle: "I don't know this guy as well as you do, Arsey, but maybe it isn't such a good idea to taunt him while we have the core. If he touches it, we're all toast."
Ultima's voice: "He's right, Arsenal. His control over every energy source could spell trouble for the core's stability." April and Ben nodded in agreement. I looked back at Vulcan, who was practically foaming at the mouth to fight me.
They're right. As much as I would love to feed Vulcan a couple of his teeth for CoCo, I have to do what's best for the planet.
Trey: "Hey, Hennessey breath! I'm kinda in the middle of something so I'll take a rain check on kicking your ass and putting you back on jail, kay?" That must've pissed him off, because he powered up in black energy and charged down at us.
Vulcan: "I've been waiting months to shut you up!"
SSJ Matt: "What's the plan, Kakarot? Should we engage this freak?" I thought about it for a second. The five of us could easily take Vulcan but I'd be lying if I said he'd go down without a fight. Even one scratch to the core could end the planet.
Trey: "Can't believe I'm saying this but...everybody, RUN!" I grew Jetray wings under my arms and took off into the air. Ben slapped his symbol and became Jet Stream and they all followed me, Vulcan hot on our trail.
Gwen's POV
You know, when I left Bellwood to go to AppleWood Prep, I actually thought I'd be done with all the superhero stuff.
I guess that all changed when I stumbled upon the Sanctum Sartorium in the basement of the library and was chosen to be the new master of mystical arts. I mean, that just screams superhero. So I became Charm and started protecting the Earth from the things my family don't know about. Much more multi-dimensional things. I had just decided to move back to Bellwood when Ellie showed up...
That brings me to what I'm doing, right now.
A meta with axes for hands swung both of them at my head, but I summoned little pink energy shields to block them, then murmured a spell and sent black energy into his stomach. He dropped to his knees, where my cape slapped him to the ground. I grinned at it and we high-fived. Terra landed on the street with a front flip.
Terra: "Did your cape just give you a high five? " She made her symbiote mask go away. "That is seriously creepy."
I put a hand on my hip and raised an eyebrow at her.
Gwen: "Don't you have an alien parasite attached to you?" She rolled her eyes.
Terra: "Yeah, but I've got the murderous impulses almost totally under control so don't even worry about it." She twitched a little and I smiled at her, nervously. I'm not sure why we're trusting her since she used to try to kill Trey every other week but we need all the help we can get so I'll try to be nice.
Gwen: "That's...awesome, Terra." I turned away from her, just in time to stop a car from crushing me with a levitation spell. "What the hell?!"
Voice: "Sorry!" I rolled my eyes as Kosta landed on the street in front of me as a big, gorilla-like alien with black and white skin, yellow eyes and white shorts. His symbol was in his belly button. "I was aiming for fucking Giant Man. He won't stay down."
He slapped his symbol, reverting back to his normal, and very attractive, form. What? Kai and I broke up almost two years ago and I do like boys too.
Kosta: "But no seriously, are you okay?" I nodded quickly.
Gwen: "Oh yeah, totally fine. No worries." He smiled and nodded, then motioned for me to follow him toward the huge NexCorp building in front of us.
Kosta: "Cool, well come on. Logan and his wife want us all to regroup in front of NexCorp." I nodded and followed after him, along with Terra. After spending a good amount of time clearing a path for Trey and the others, we got to NexCorp and split up to clear the area.
We reached the front of the NexCorp building, which strangely doesn't look as ransacked as everything else, where Logan and Marian were waiting.
Logan: "Alright, everybody's here. Trey said he told his friend we were coming so there shouldn't be much of any trouble." Everyone nodded and we started to go in. "Everyone stay frosty. According to Arsenal, this company is far from squeaky clean."
Inside, everything was trashed. Desks were flipped over, Tv's were smashed, and potted plants were knocked all over the floor.
Terra: "You can say that, again. What happened? I thought Trey's friend was supposed to be keeping safe, here." Marian nodded.
Marian: "He was. According to him, this building should have a slightly less advanced security system than you guys' old Armory. None of the metas outside should've been able to get in here." Logan's eyes got wide.
Logan: "They don't have to." I started to get what he was saying.
Gwen: "Because there have been metas in the building, the whole time." We suddenly heard a ding and the elevator started coming down. We all got in fighting stances, Kosta turning on his watch. Terra made her symbiote mask come on and snarled, her long tongue slithering out.
Terra: "Say the word and I'll eat all of their spleens." We all briefly looked at her before turning back to the elevator. It finally reached the bottom and opened, revealing...some college kid. He was light skin, looked around the same age as Trey and the guys, had weird light grey eyes and the veins in his head were slightly bulging.
Kid: "I assume you guys are the people Trey were talking about. Welcome!" We all powered down once we realized who he was and Logan walked up to him, holding out his hand.
Logan: "You must be Kyrie, nice to meet you. I'm Overdrive and these are the Champions." Kosta raised an eyebrow.
Kosta: "Technically, I'm not-" Terra shot webbing over his mouth to shut him up.
Logan: "Like I was saying, we're the Champions, a team of heroes from...uh.."
Kyrie: "Don't worry, Trey told me everything. He said you guys are superheroes from back at Horizon City and you came to work on something. Right?" Logan quickly nodded and I shook my head to myself. So Trey hasn't told his friend his secret identity. I'm surprised.
Marian: "Hi Kyrie, I'm...the Winter Soldier. You have a lab for us to work in, right?" He laughed, a little louder than he should've, and nodded.
Kyrie: "Of course, I do! This is NexCorp, th-the best company on the planet." One of his eyes glowed grey and he turned around, leading us down a hallway.
Kosta: "I can't be the only one that saw that. Is he a meta, too?" We started following Kyrie, me floating in the air with my legs crossed.
Gwen: "Wouldn't Trey have mentioned it, if he were?" Logan chuckled.
Logan: "Odds are, he doesn't know. Trey's not the only one with secrets, I guess."
Terra: "Am I the only one who noticed how hot he is?" Everybody else groaned but I secretly high-fived her, glad I'm not the only one that noticed.
Kyrie led us to a particular door and stopped.
Kyrie: "Here we are, our most equipped lab. This should have everything you need for whatever you're working on." He opened the door, letting us into a HUGE lab. Not exactly the size of the one at Omni-Tower, but pretty freaking advanced. Logan zoomed in at super speed, examining the place. Kyrie watched him in awe as he moved around the lab. "Incredible, another speedster. I've always wondered how you all move at the speed that you do."
Logan slid to a stop in front of us, rubbing the back of his neck.
Logan: "It's a...long story. Anyway, we should get to work. It's a big project, you know." Kyrie looked at him for a second, then nodded.
Kyrie: "Of course it is! Have you seen what's going on, out there? Hopefully whatever you're working on can help stop it." With that, he turned around and walked down the hall.
Terra: "Anybody else getting a strange vibe from him?" Kosta nodded but Logan, Marian and I shook our heads.
Marian: "Trey said Kyrie was one of his best friends, we should take that into account. He might be lying about some kind of powers but Trey has a whole double life he's keeping hidden." I nodded.
Gwen: "She's right, we can't judge somebody we don't even really know."
Logan: "Besides, we don't have time to poke around in my brother's friendships. We have to get to work on this core container before Arsenal and the others get here." He zoomed over to a table at super speed and started searching for the necessary parts.
Marian: "Right behind you. Come on, Gwen." I nodded and the two of us went over to Logan.
Gwen: "Finally, a chance to use my mind instead of my magic. It's been a while." Kosta cleared his throat behind us and we turned.
Kosta: "What are Terra and I supposed to do while you guys tinker? I don't have access to Grey Matter or Brainstorm right now and Terra's symbiote doesn't exactly make her a genius."
Terra: "Hey!" Logan shrugged.
Logan: "You two are the brawn, right? Go punch something." Marian and I giggled and we got back to work.
Terra rolled her eyes and turned to Kosta.
Terra: "Well handsome, it's just you and me. What do you say we see what Kyrie is really like?" She moved closer to him but he backed away.
Kosta: "Sounds like a good idea, actually. Just keep your distance, okay? I don't wanna have to explain to Mayta why I smell like perfume and space webs." Terra folded her arms over her chest and pouted.
Terra: "Fine. Let's go!" She fired a web line to pull herself out of the room. Kosta looked at us.
Logan, Gwen and Marian: "Good luck, hero." Kosta sighed and walked out the door.
After they left, Marian turned to me.
Marian: "Would you mind working over there, Gwen? I need to talk to Logan about something." I nodded quickly and used a spell to levitate the part I was working on, taking it to the other table with me.
Logan's POV
I didn't even look up as I continued to work on the radiation condenser.
Logan: "What is it, frosty? You need another speedster foot massage?" Yes, I rub my wife's feet. Sue me.
She was silent for a second, twisting a screw into a piece of the dark matter stabilizer. Then she put it down and looked at me.
Marian: "This is important, Logan. Like, probably the most important discussion ever had." I chuckled.
Logan: "Mare, we just had a discussion about how to save a planet. I think there are more important conversations." My eyes shined blue and I used my eye beams to weld some things together.
Marian: "Not when the conversation is about our family." I stopped what I was doing and looked at her.
Logan: "Our family? What about it? Oh, please don't tell me you're pregnant again! We can barely put Speedy down for his nap without getting creamed by one of his supersonic yawns." Marian grabbed my hands to calm me down, rubbing my knuckles.
Marian: "Relax hubby, it's nothing like that. It's more about...you." I raised an eyebrow at her.
Logan: "Me? Mare, I can put myself down for a nap." Marian shook her head.
Marian: "No...I guess there is no easy way to say this. Logan, I think you should seriously consider quitting being Overdrive." My eyes got wider than they ever had and I stared at her. Gwen had covered her ears with pink energy to give us privacy so I guess she didn't hear that.
Logan: "WHAT?! Quit being Overdrive? Why the hell would I do that? I've been fighting crime since I was 16!"
Marian: "Yeah, I started young too. But I officially retired after we had Victor and I honestly expected you to do the same. Being a superhero is dangerous and I don't want to get Victor hurt nor do I want something happening to us and him growing up without parents. That's the worst thing that can happen to a child, especially one with Victor's powers and potential." To say I was shocked would be an over-simplification.
Logan: "I understand, Mare, really. But I'm not doing this for my health! Earth, hell, the whole universe needs protecting from the fucked up people in it!"
Marian: "And I understand that, Logan. The universe needs heroes but it's not 2015 anymore, there are more than enough around. Not only has Ben really come into his own, Trey and Charity are alive too. Them combined with emergency teams like the Ultimates mean that Overdrive may not be needed anymore." She put her hand over mine and I sighed, looking down at the unfinished core container.
Logan: "But...I like helping people. I may not do it for fun like Trey and Ben, but making a difference has always been important to me." He held up his hands, making them spark with electricity.
Marian: "You can still help people. But as Logan Gold, not Overdrive. Logan, you can use your powers to solve so many problems. Hell, you could even start your own company and use that to make a difference." She hugged me from behind. "You don't have to fight super-villains to be a hero, you know."
I was silent for what seemed like hours before picking up the machinery and starting to work again.
Marian: "Logan?"
Logan: "I'll think about it. For now, millions of people are in danger and I intend to help them." Marian sighed but nodded.
Marian: "Let's do it."
...
Kosta's POV
Kosta: "Okay, this has to be where he went. We've searched every other room on this floor." Terra and I were standing in front of a door that said "Conference Room". She nodded.
Terra: "Yeah, there's no way he went upstairs. The elevator hasn't moved, my symbiote would've heard it." I heard a small whisper that I swear came from the symbiote, but I ignored it and examined the door.
Kosta: "Fingerprint scanner, a code input and needs to keycard. There is no way we're legally getting in there." I held up my Omnitrix and placed two fingers on it, activating the holographic selection wheel. "Good thing there's a huge ass war going on and all legality is out the window."
I scrolled through my forms until I found the one I wanted, then took my fingers off. The faceplate slid back and the Omnitrix core popped up.
Terra: "Lemme guess, you're turning into Four Arms to bust the door down." I chuckled and shook my head.
Kosta: "I'm not Arsenal. I actually solve problems without my fists, sometimes." I slapped down the core, releasing a flash of yellow light from it and beginning my transformation.
I grew about two feet as my skin turned bright purple and my head grew. My feet morphed into Raptor ones and a yellow and black jumpsuit with the Omnitrix symbol on it appeared. The light faded and I stood in front of Terra as Phaze.
Phaze Kosta: "This guy should do just fine. I call him Phaze." I held my hand out and she smirked at me before taking it.
Terra: "I'm liking this form so far." I rolled my eyes and lead her toward the door, phasing right through it like it was water. We came out in the conference room and I let go of Terra's hand.
Phaze Kosta: "See, no smashing needed." Terra raised an eyebrow at me.
Terra: "Wait so your power is phasing and you named yourself Phaze? No points for creativity, Alienate." I rolled my eyes.
Phaze Kosta: "I'm not good with the names, okay!" Terra snickered until she turned her head. Her eyes got wide and her jaw dropped.
Terra: "What. The. Fuck." I turned, seeing Kyrie, grey energy coming from his head, typing away at some kind of huge super computer. Hundreds of idle robot soldiers surrounded him and dangling from the ceiling was the dead body of Tombstone. I looked around, seeing dead bodies of metas littered across the floor.
Phaze Kosta: "I guess that explains why the place is a wreck." I slapped my symbol and became Water Hazard, then started approaching him slowly.
Water Hazard Kosta: "Hey, you okay, man?" I put a hand on his shoulder and he quickly turned around, some kind of energy ending me flying back. I quickly shot out a stream of water to catch myself and he grinned.
Kyrie: "Better than okay, Arsenal! I have what I always wanted...my company and my intelligence." He thinks I'm Sergauson? Right, he is the only shape-shifter around here.
I slapped my symbol, reverting to normal.
Kosta: "I'm not Arsenal, buddy. Just calm down and tell me what you're talking about." From what I can tell, this guy's a Brainy. That's the name my friend Aiden and I gave people with super smarts. Those guys are usually low level threats but if Kyrie is responsible for all these dead metas, I should tread carefully.
Kyrie: "Not Arsenal, eh? Makes sense. I always figured there had to be someone else with the same meta-human power as him." He turned back to the computer and started typing. "That reminds me. I have to add Arsenal to the list of people I need to get rid of."
My eyes got wide and I looked back at Terra, who looked just as confused. Then I looked back at Kyrie.
Kosta: "Why the hell would you want to get rid of Arsenal? Sure he talks a lot and showboats all the time, but he's a hero!" Kyrie laughed dryly and the robots' eyes flickered for a second.
Kyrie: "To everyone else, maybe. But that hero ruined my life, the very second he stepped foot in it. Had he not appeared and started beef with a crime boss, I would have never gotten involved at all! My mom would still have her company, my girlfriend wouldn't think I'm a complete freak and everything would be great. To avenge the life that he ruined, Arsenal must be destroyed." I looked back at Terra and she nodded, getting her symbiote mask on.
Terra: "We can't let you do that, Kyrie." He stopped what he was doing and turned around slowly, his eyes now glowing orange.
Kyrie: "Then you must be destroyed as well." Suddenly, all the robots woke up and got ready to attack us!
Kosta: "I should've stayed in the lab."
Kyrie: "NexDroids, dispose of them." They advanced toward us and I quickly turned on my watch and slammed it, leaping out of the yellow glow as Spidermonkey and immediately nailing a robot in the chest with all four of my fists. It flew back but I shot a web out from my tail and pulled it toward me. Instead of hitting it, I ducked, giving Terra an opening to flip up and kick the robot's head off. Its torso fell to the ground and almost crushed me but I slapped my symbol and caught it as Rath, my favorite alien.
Rath Kosta: "LEMME TELL YOU SOMETHING KYRIE AND HIS ARMY OF KILLER ROBOTS! AN ARMY OF KILLER RATH KILLERS COULDN'T STOP RATH SO YOU DAMN SURE CAN'T STOP RATH! YOU GOT IT?!" Terra shot a web line at the ceiling and used it to swing on, kicking a robot in the chest. She bounced off it and shot webbing in its eyes.
Terra: "I don't think anybody understood that, kitty cat." I roared at her and she rolled her eyes. Then I made my claws grow and slashed right through a robot's chest. It exploded instantly and I leaped out of the smoke on all fours, slashing several robots at a time.
Robotic voice: "Warning, NexDroid count decreasing at a furious pace. Action needed." Kyrie's eyes got wide.
Kyrie: "Impossible! Those robots were meant to counteract any meta-human power. What the hell are these guys?" I slapped my symbol and became Yellow-Tail, my version of Trey's Red-Tail form, then turned my bracelets into sonic blasters and started letting off rounds at the robots. It only took one shot each to completely destroy them. Terra shot a web at all the remaining robots and pulled, slamming them all together and causing a huge explosion. When it cleared, Terra and I were standing in front of Kyrie.
Yellow-Tail Kosta: "Alright Kyrie, time to give-" That's all I remember before everything went blank.
Kyrie's POV
The other Arsenal stopped in his tracks as everything froze in time. I looked at the spider monster girl thing, noticing she was frozen too.
Kyrie: "Sculptor. Why do you always seem to appear in the nick of time?" There was a flash of light and Sculptor appeared in front of me.
Sculptor: "I am the master of the universe's secrets, knowing when to come to your aid is child's play. Which I shouldn't have had to do, considering you have your intelligence back." I looked at the ground.
Kyrie: "Sorry Sculptor, these two just took me by surprise. How are their powers able to hurt my robots?" He shook his head.
Sculptor: "That matters not, I will take care of them. The only thing that is important is making sure you are available for the planet's true fate." I nodded, although I still have no clue what he's talking about. Maybe it has something to do with all the metas outside.
Kyrie: "Understood." I turned and looked at the computer, seeing a frozen video feed of the other Champions working on whatever. "Should we take care of the other Horizon heroes, too? Won't they interfere?"
Sculptor shook his head.
Sculptor: "No, leave them be. They are...of no threat." Before I could say anything else, he snapped his fingers. After a flash of light, Sculptor was gone along with the two Champions.
Kyrie: "Okay then.." I turned back to the monitor and started typing. "Alright Arsenal, time to pay."
Charity's POV
Tracy: "Alright, everybody know what they're doing when we get in here?" We were sitting in a big tree that sat on a hill, directly overlooking Negative's warehouse.
Essence raised her hand.
Essence: "Yeah, who died and made you leader again, Trace? Just because you have your cousin's powers doesn't mean you know more than any of us." I slapped her arm but Tracy just smirked a bit. Holy shit, she's got his smirk too. This girl's gotta be a heartbreaker.
Tracy: "If I remember correctly, and I'm one-hundred percent sure I do, my cousin was elected leader because he had these powers. So unless any of you can hold a mini galaxy in the palm of your hand, I think I'm best suited. Can anyone else do that?" We were silent and she nodded. "Okay, good. Now I'll ask again, everybody good on the plan?"
We all nodded.
Charity: "Essence and I will scope the building, taking out any protection he might have and destroying any meta formula we find. Don't want anyone accidentally stumbling across any leftovers." Tracy grinned and nodded.
Tracy: "Ellie and I will play cat and mouse with Negative and be good little distractions while Aubrie and Skurd go in for the takedown." I smiled at Ellie. She looked at me, frowned, then looked at the ground. Aubrie smiled at Skurd, who slithered up to her shoulder.
Aubrie: "Our shared mind should protect us from his mind control so we can kick his butt!" She put her finger out and Skurd high-fived it.
Skurd: "Quite right, dear girl. I knew there were perks to having a human host."
Aubrie: "Besides my killer taste in music." I giggled a bit.
Tracy: "Alright ladies, if we pull this off, we are not only the most bad ass bitches of all time, but we'll also be heroes. This guy has hurt a lot of people and Trey trusts us to take him down. You ready?"
Charity, Ellie, Aubrie and Essence: "Ready." With that, we all dropped from the tree.
...
Three huge metas with sand, rock and diamond powers walked down the hallway, looking around for anything suspicious.
Rock meta: "You guys be on the lookout, the boss says Arsenal could come after him at any moment." The sand meta laughed.
Sand meta: "Yeah, right. The boss is being paranoid. With everything going on in the city, the vigilante will be busy till morning at least. There's no way he comes here."
Diamond meta: "Yeah man we're sol-" He was cut off when a chain wrapped around his neck and pulled him back into the shadows.
Rock meta: "TRAVIS!" His eyes glowed black and he launched huge rock shards into the shadows. The sand meta followed up by firing a continuous sandstorm.
Sand meta: "Alright, show yourself, Arsenal! Come out and fight like a man." They heard a giggle and I stepped out of the shadows in my normal form.
Charity: "See, that might be kinda difficult." I pulled out my hellfire shotgun and fired, nailing the rock meta in the face and sending him flying back into a wall. Essence rolled her eye as she came outta the shadows after me.
Essence: "Really, sis? You're quipping, now?" I shrugged.
Charity: "It is kinda fun. But if you see me shimmying, please hit me." She nodded.
Sand meta: "What the hell are you freak bitches talking about?! What the hell are you?!" I looked at Essence and she shrugged.
Essence: "I guess you could say we're monsters." I nodded.
Charity: "Not that it matters to you, considering you'll be knocked out on the floor in about 5 seconds."
Sand meta: "Huh?" Before he could react, I hopped through a necro-portal and stepped out behind him, sending a knockout blow to his jaw. I grinned.
Charity: "Told you." I motioned for Essence to follow me and we took off down the hall, taking out any metas lingering around. Eventually, we reached a room that looked less...threatening than the others. I touched the door and my eyes sparked with purple fire.
Charity: "I picking up something abnormal in there, for sure. I think we found where Mister Negative keeps his meta-human formula stashed."
Essence: "Are you sure? Every fucking hallway we've been down had metas on it. Why would Negative hide the superpower juice in an unguarded place?" I shrugged.
Charity: "So it wouldn't have any attention on it, maybe? Either way, we have to check in here. We're demons, Sis, nothing really matches up to us." I smirked at her and she returned the favor.
Essence: "You know, I like you better now that you're not running after Trey all the time." I rolled my eyes and materialized my hellfire shotgun, then blasted the door off its hinges. We stepped inside, immediately taking notice of the hundreds of vials of glowing liquid sitting on shelves. There were sections labeled 'Physical', 'Mental' and 'Conduit'.
Charity: "Heh, looks like I was right! This is totally Negative's stash of meta-formula."
Voice: "And I'd love to know what your next move is." We quickly turned around and I aimed my gun, only to see an ordinary looking guy with brown hair, wearing a blue cardigan sitting there.
Essence: "Hold on Chare, he's cute." I rolled my eyes. Why the hell is everybody so horny today? I put my gun away she looked him up and down.
Charity: "Who are you and what are you doing here, kid?" He chuckled a bit, but didn't even stand up. What's this dude's deal? My freaking shotgun was just on fire, he should be terrified.
Brunette guy: "Kid? From the looks of it, you aren't much older than me, if at all. And shouldn't I be the one asking that question? I mean, here you are in my boss's warehouse just snooping around. The guy's kinda weird but he deserves his privacy." Essence looked at me.
Essence: "Let's spawn up and scare this guy. After he wets his pants, we destroy the juice." I nodded slowly. Something is up with this dude but I'm not sensing an aura from him so he can't have powers. Her plan should work.
Charity: "Let's do it." The brunette guy raised an eyebrow in curiosity and I started to let all my negative emotions flood out. Anger, hatred, betrayal. Suddenly my body exploded in a purple inferno and I came out in my demon form. Essence transformed into hers too, still looking like I did when I first got my powers. Heh, guess she's not evolved.
Strangely, he didn't look that scared. Just...curious.
Brunette guy: "That's interesting, ladies. But I'm still gonna have to ask you to leave. I'm only asking you this last time." Essence and I looked at each other and nodded. Then I summoned my hellfire chains and started spinning them. Essence powered up neroplasm and formed it into twin battle axes.
Charity: "I don't know who you think you're threatening, pretty boy, but you're in no position to be talking to anyone like that. Especially two demons." He shrugged.
Brunette guy: "Hey, I warned you." He pulled out some kind of remote and pressed the button. Suddenly, he grew into a huge grey and white monster with black eyes. His aura appeared suddenly and it was off the charts. Our eyes got wide.
Essence: "So that's why he wasn't afraid of us." The monster smirked.
Monster: "Time for you girls to see why they call me Damage!" He powered up orange energy and zoomed at me at super speed, slamming into me and sending us both crashing through the wall.
Essence: "SIS! Hold on, I'm coming!"
...
Ellie's POV
Tracy and I crawled through an air duct, me using my claws and her using her Web Head form. It's weird how many of the names I've picked up.
Web Head Tracy: "Okay Vixen, we should be coming up on Negative's safe room in a bit. When we get in there, just piss him off a bit so he'll want to fight us." I giggled a bit.
Ellie: "So basically like fighting crime with Arsenal. Got it." I haven't been around this girl long but from what I can tell, she's like the girl version of my shape- I mean, Trey. I know everyone said they were cousins but they could be more like twins.
Web Head Tracy: "Sooo...how long have you been with my headache of a cousin?" I didn't answer for a minute. Are we even still together? I haven't been answering his calls and he basically said he doesn't love me so what are we really doing? But I love him.
Ellie: "...Two months, this coming Friday. Not a long time but to immortals it doesn't really matter, you know." She nodded as we crawled past a bathroom. Tracy shot a web ball through the vent and it exploded, trapping all the metas in the bathroom with webbing.
Web Head Tracy: "I understand, believe me. I haven't found anyone yet, it's hard to come across someone you really click with." I nodded slowly and she continued. "Which is why you shouldn't let whatever is going on with you and my cousin tear you guys apart."
I looked at her.
Ellie: "How do you know something is going on?" She laughed a bit.
Web Head Tracy: "Arsenal and I are...pretty close. I know when something is bothering him and it's pretty obvious something is bothering you, too. Whatever's going on is your business but what I will say is don't be so quick to think you have him figured out. He's got a lot of responsibility and it could make him...irrational." Before I could say anything else, my vampire hearing picked up talking.
Negative: "And you're sure you saw Arsenal on Main Street?"
Guy on the phone: "Yeah, boss. He was flying away from Vulcan with some glowing shit on his back. He had some other vigilantes with him." So Trey got the core. I couldn't help but smile. He's gonna do this, I believe in him.
Negative: "Other vigilantes?! I wasn't aware there were more. The last thing I need is more heroes."
Web Head Tracy: "This is where we bust in to add insult to injury." I raised an eyebrow, another habit I've picked up from my ma-Arsenal.
Ellie: "So is most of being a superhero just being an asshole to villains?" She nodded.
Web Head Tracy: "Pretty much. Ready?"
Ellie: "Yep." I stuck my leg out and kicked the vent door off the hinges, sending it crashing into the wall. Tracy became Starfire and we burst out, landing in front of Negative.
Starfire Tracy: "Well it looks like the last thing you need is the first thing you'll get, ugly." I looked at her. I think I found a difference between the cousins; Trey is way better at one-liners.
Negative looked at the purple symbol on Tracy's chest in complete confusion.
Negative: "But...you're supposed to be on Main Street..." Tracy and I chuckled a bit.
Starfire Tracy: "You have me confused with my cousin, sorry to say. I'm not Arsenal, I'm Shyfter." She struck a little pose and I shook my head. Negative looked from her to me, then grinned.
Negative: "The vampire, I assume. I see you've taken your other half's choice of fashion. Disappointing. I'm surprised you are not with him." He suddenly smirked. "Unless there's trouble in paradise."
I snarled at him, baring my fangs.
Ellie: "I'm gonna start on the distracting, if you don't mind, Shyfter." I cracked my knuckles and zoomed at Negative at vampire speed, clocking him right in the jaw. He flew toward the back wall but black energy came out of his eyes and he caught himself in mid-air, levitating himself to the ground. He fixed his tie and smiled a little.
Negative: "Normally, a gentleman would never hit a lady." He pulled a sword from behind his back and powered it up with his black energy. "This, however, is a special situation."
His eyes glowed black and he was on me in an instant, swinging his sword at my head. I quickly ducked and kicked at him, only for him to block with his knee and headbutt me in the nose. I stumbled back and snarled, then went back at him.
Starfire Tracy: "Hey, I'm a distraction too!" She flew at Negative, letting off rounds of star bolts at him. He slashed through all of them with his sword and jumped up, spin-kicking her across the face. She went flying into the wall next to us and tumbled to the floor.
Ellie: "You okay?" I side-stepped around Negative's kick and sent a jab to his nose.
Starfire Tracy: "Yeah, I'm good...He kicked the shit outta me." She got up and glowed purple, transforming into Jumpstart and blasting a one handed lightning beam at Negative. He punched me back and held up his sword to block it, but it pushed him back into the wall and fully engulfed him in electricity. He slid to the ground.
Ellie: "Nice hit, girl. You got him." She didn't look convinced.
Jumpstart Tracy: "I'm not so sure. Arsenal said he was wicked strong, he wouldn't go down to a half-assed electro-cannon." I rolled my eyes and walked over to Negative, who was still laying against the wall. My first big villain takedown and it was a team up. Not too shabby.
Ellie: "Oh, please. Arsenal would've easily cleaned his clock, just like you just did. We didn't even need Aubrie to-" I wanted to finish my sentence but I couldn't, because that's when Negative slammed his sword straight through my stomach.
Ellie: "AHHHHH!" Blood started to gush out and I looked at him.
Negative: "You should've listened to your friend. I'll tell your boyfriend you said hello." I tried to pull the sword out so I could heal but the black energy burned my hands. I dropped to my knees.
Jumpstart Tracy: "ELLIE!" She became Pan, her version of Trey's Goku form, and flew at Negative in an instant. She sent a haymaker to his temple, then sent an energy ball directly into his chest. He flew back into the wall behind him. Before he could get up, she cupped her hands together.
Pan Tracy: "I've never actually tried this myself but how hard could it be? KAAAAMEEEEEEHAAAAAMEEEEEHAAA!" She fired a huge blue beam at Negative, nailing him spot on and blasting him straight through the wall and out into the warehouse.
Pan Tracy: "That should keep him down for at least a couple minutes." I was lying on the ground, blood still leaking from my would.
Ellie: "Good...job..." She quickly kneeled down next to me.
Pan Tracy: "Hold on, girl, I just need to get this sword out. Then you can heal, right?" I nodded slowly. She slowly wrapped her hands around the sword, ignoring the burning feeling, and pulled with all her strength. It didn't move and I sighed, ready to accept it. I'm dying.
Ellie: "Tracy." She kept pulling.
Pan Tracy: "Don't give up on me, Ellie! I can save you!" The sword didn't move an inch and she dropped to her knees, starting to cry. "I'm so sorry, Ellie. Trey put me in charge of a team and I couldn't even keep the one he loves safe."
I chuckled a little. If only she knew. Trey Sergauson doesn't love me. The only people that ever loved me are my parents and I'm going to see them, now.
Ellie: "It's okay, Tracy. You did your best...I got too cocky. Heh, guess not everybody can be your cousin, huh?" I gave her one last smile and fluttered my eyes, the blood loss beginning to affect me. "Tell him I loved him, okay?"
My eyes shut completely after that.
Tracy's POV
I stayed there, on my knees, crying next to Ellie's lifeless body. What am I going to tell Trey? He trusted me and I completely failed him. I failed Ellie, too.
Negative came charging back and smirked when he saw what was happening.
Negative: "Oh, her boyfriend will not be happy about that. Did you not know only I could wield my weapons?" I slowly looked up at him, my eyes glowing purple in fury.
Pan Tracy: "You...are so...DEAD!" I erupted in a black glow and emerged as my true Doppelganger form! I was way smaller and slimmer than Trey's but my talons were sharper and my eyes were silver.
Negative looked at me in horror.
Negative: "What...what the hell are you?.." I grinned at him, showcasing a row of jagged teeth.
Tracy: "I'm The Big Guns. And you are totally fucked, shithead." I turned my legs into Godspeed ones and was on him in an instant, then sent and Atomix radiation ball into his stomach, obliterating his suit and burning his flesh. He powered up and flew away from me, shooting black energy daggers as he flew, but I roared and used a Gravattack hand to send them away. Then I turned my hand into a Snare-Oh bandage and launched it and Negative. It wrapped around his leg and I turned my hand into a Chromastone one, then sent rainbow energy up the bandage. It got to Negative and overwhelmed his black energy, making him fall to the ground. I leaped up and landed on his body, then started pummeling him with punches.
The Big Guns Tracy: "Murderer! Murderer! MURDERER!" I kept punching him until he was beaten and bloody and definitely wasn't getting up, then I punched him some more. "YOU DON'T DESERVE TO LIVE WHEN ELLIE CAN'T!"
I turned my hand into a Biohazard BFS and raised it in the air, preparing to impale him.
Negative: "Go head and do it...my legacy is cemented." I roared at him again and swung my BFS toward his chest, only for it to be...caught? Negative and I looked up, seeing Aubrie with Skurd morphing her hand into one made of granite.
Aubrie: "That's enough, Shyfter. You did it, you won." I roared at her, but she didn't flinch.
The Big Guns Tracy: "Won?! Ellie is fucking dead and you think this is a win? You don't know anything!"
Aubrie: "I know that this isn't you talking, it's your Doppelganger form. It makes you way too bloodthirsty. You need to stop before you do something you regret." I looked at her, then at Negative. Suddenly, I roared and glowed black, reverting to normal. I immediately hugged Aubrie and we both cried.
Tracy: "She's gone, Aubrie..."
Aubrie: "I know. But she didn't die in vain, we beat the bad guy. Arsenal is going to be devastated but he won't blame you." I nodded and we stopped hugging, wiping out eyes but still sniffling a little. I looked down at Negative.
Tracy: "Oh yeah, I almost forgot. Arsenal say h-
BOOM!!!
Trey's POV (A few minutes earlier)
Trey: "Wanna know something, Vulcan? You kinda suck." I was surfing on power lines with Jumpstart feet, still in costume, with the core still on my back. Vulcan was flying behind me, as pissed as ever. "I mean here I am, not even transformed, and you still can't hit me."
Vulcan fumed and powered up even more.
Vulcan: "STAY AND FIGHT ME, COWARD!" He flew forward and got past me, then charged up energy in his fist and prepared to punch me, only for April to fly in front of me and catch his fist. I opened my eyes back up, having closed them to brace the punch, and smiled at her.
Trey: "Thanks, shawty." She nodded back at me and pushed Vulcan back a bit, then slammed her fist into his nose, sending him flying away.
April: "I got this guy, dude, you just get the core to NexCorp." I nodded and thanked her one more time before powering up again and zooming forward along the power lines. I looked up, seeing the top of the NexCorp building in the distance.
Trey: "Almost there. Just a few more blocks and I'll have proved Paradox wrong. Wonder why he hasn't shown up yet, not even to tell me off." He can't be...in trouble, right? I mean, he's pretty much Eon without the anger issues, nothing should be able to-
My train of thought was cut off by something kicking me across the face, sending me flying off the power line and detatching the core from my back. It flew through the air and my eyes widened.
Trey: "No! No, no, no." I moved as quickly as possible and turned my hands and feet into Jet Stream ones, then flew up and caught the core by the webbing straps and put it safely back on my back. "That was a close one. Now to find who kicked me and..."
I stopped talking and immediately got pissed when I saw Edgar Stroker, Ellie's uncle, standing there, smirking.
Edgar: "What's wrong, Arsenal? Surprised to see me?" I landed on the street in front of him, my eyes shining red under my goggles.
Trey: "Sure am. Because I'm pretty sure I made it perfectly clear that if you showed your face again, I'd rip it the fuck off. Are you really that stupid?" He simply smirked.
Edgar: "You think I am afraid of you, vigilante? You caught me by surprise last time, I will admit, but your luck has run out. And when you're gone, I will be sure to remind my dear niece what she's missed." He grinned, showing me his fangs. I snarled at him and turned my hands into Beat Em Up ones, preparing to walk toward him. Before I could though, a wall of sand built itself in front of me. A face and a red Ultimatrix symbol formed in the middle.
Sandbox Kyle: "Dude, you can't let this dope talk you into a fight. You have the core, remember?" I calmed down a little and looked back at the core. I completely forgot about it.
Trey: "Yeah, you're right, sorry. That guy just...did a lot of bad shit to Ellie."
Ultima's voice: "Then we'll put the hurt on him while you go save the planet! Kyle and I can take a vampire." I opened my mouth to tell them just how strong vampires actually are, but decided not to. Instead I turned my arms into Elaskimo ones and used them to slingshot myself into the air.
Trey: "Thanks, guys!" Kyle saluted at me and glowed red, transforming into Scorponok.
Scorponok Kyle: "This is for Ellie!"
I flew through the air and took the core off my back, checking for any damages.
Trey: "Looks okay to me. And considering we're not all dead, I think it's safe to say I'm right." I started to fall and put the core back on my back, then shot one my arms out to swing on. I let go and sailed through the air, then grew Darkflame wings and took off. After another minute, I landed in front of NexCorp.
Trey: "Overdrive and the others did a good job of clearing a path for us. Getting the core into the container should be easy enough." My Darkflame wings folded back into my back and disappeared and I walked inside, the automatic door opening for me. As soon as I set foot in the building, I was met by a shit ton of huge robot drones. Kyrie was standing directly in front of me, his eyes glowing grey and some kind of reactor in his chest.
Kyrie: "Arsenal, glad you could finally make it. Welcome to the last day of your life." I threw my hands up in frustration.
Trey: "I really gotta learn to shut up, sometimes." Then I looked at Kyrie. "Kid, you have no idea what's at stake, here. Whatever you have against me can be settled after I talk to the Champions."
Kyrie laughed, sounding nothing at all like the best friend I used to joke about roller disco with. He sounded...twisted.
Kyrie: "Funny you should mention the Champions, Arsey, because they seemed to be real anxious for you to get here." He pressed a button a the desk behind him and a screen came out of the ceiling. It showed Logan, Marian and Gwen knocked out cold in some kind of lab. Next to them was..the core container!
Trey: "They finished it. Way to go, big brains." Suddenly, more robots piled into the room they were in, holding drills.
Kyrie: "Your fellow heroes are really something, Arsenal. While you pay for your wrongdoing, my NexDroids will be ripping them open and seeing just what makes them so different than other metas." His eyes glowed grey and the NexDroids started the drills.
Trey: "GUYS!" I glared at Kyrie. "Kyrie, leave them alone! They have nothing to do with any of this. You wanna fight? Fight me!"
The drills stopped and Kyrie grinned at me.
Kyrie: "You're right. They are completely innocent...I'll kill them last, let them live a bit longer." He's gone completely insane. And his aura is stronger than it's ever been. He must've found some of Tombstone's serum and gotten his powers back. But that doesn't explain why he's acting like Xavier Red.
Trey: "Why are you doing this, Kyrie? I thought you wanted a normal life with your girl and that best friend of yours. Killing people isn't exactly normal behavior." He scowled at me and looked at the ground.
Kyrie: "A girlfriend that doesn't believe me and a best friend that abandons me when I need him. I don't know what I was thinking! What I really needed I my life is the only thing I have now; my power. And now that I have it back, I'm getting rid of everybody that came and fucked up my life!" His eyes glowed grey again and the reactor on his chest hummed to life. The veins in his neck and arm turned into wires and the skin on his hands ripped off, revealing robotic hands.
Trey: "Kyrie, what have you done to yourself?"
Kyrie: "I MADE MYSELF BETTER! I realized that having a powerful mind wasn't enough, I needed a powerful body to protect it. Now, neither you or Red can take what I love from me!" He leaped at me with green energy powered up in his fists, but I met his fist with an Igneo one and pushed him back.
Trey: "You couldn't have gone after him first?" He launched a photon ball at me but I turned my hands into Energem ones and blocked them with a manna shield. "I mean, I don't condone the killing at all." He came swinging wildly at me but I weaved around his punches easily and sent a bit of manna into his chest, sending him flying back. "But it would've been way more convenient for me if you had saved me for last. Just saying."
He crashed into the desk, but immediately got back up and fired a beam at me from his chest reactor, but I turned my hand into a Feedback one and absorbed it, then blasted a hole in the ceiling.
Trey: "I wanna help you, Kyrie. I just can't, right now." I turned my hands and feet into Savage ones and leaped up through the hole.
Kyrie: "AFTER HIM!" The NexDroids all beeped and rockets folded out of their backs. Then they flew up through the hole, after me.
I ran down the hallway on all-fours, the core still safe on my back but starting to get kinda warm.
Trey: "I gotta get this core in the container before it blows. It's in the room with the others and if my Arsey brain remembers correctly, Gwen is part alien." I came to a stop and closed my eyes. "Which means I should be able to track her aura."
I focused on any Anodyte auras and picked one up...on the top floor.
Trey: "Of-fucking-course. And I can't teleport or use my speedster powers around the core." I took off on all-fours again, toward the stairs. I opened the door and was immediately met with a bunch of NexDroids. "Fellas...I don't suppose you could point me to the elevator, could you?"
They folded their hands back and out came large spinning buzzsaws. I chuckled a bit and turned my hands into Blamurai ones, pulling two katanas out.
Trey: "Hey, I had to try." I ran at them and ducked under a buzzsaw, then sliced the NexDroid's arm clean off and stabbed it into another one, ripping it to shreds. Two more went for my legs but I hopped up and used my swords at stilts, then flipped off of them, grabbed them, and stabbed them straight through the NexDroids' heads. I threw one of my swords and nailed a NexDroid straight through the eye, then turned my feet into Ironheart repulsor boots and burst upward, up the stairwell. I got up two stories before something grabbed my leg and pulled me downward. I looked down to see a NexDroid's extended arm wrapped around me.
Trey: "Hey, hands off the merchandise!" I turned my feet back to normal, causing me to fall, then turned my hand into a Thornstrix one and summoned huge plants to catch my fall, then turned my hand into an NRG one and blew the robot to bits. The others ones charged at me but they were instantly blown to bits by two yellow beams. I turned around to see Matt and Ben as Blastback, an alien in a white suit that absorbs and redirects energy.
Blastback Ben: "Dude, I think your friend has gone crazy. This place is crawling with these robots and they're all trying to kill us."
Matt: "Nothing we cannot handle. Where are the others? This was their assignment, correct?" I nodded.
Trey: "Kyrie has them trapped on the top floor, along with the core container. I'm making a go for it." They nodded.
Blastback Ben: "Go for it, man. Matt and I will hold it down, down here." Matt nodded.
Matt: "Go save your home, Kakarot." He smiled at me a little bit and I smiled under my mask.
Trey: "Thanks, you guys. When this is over, Ramen noodles on me." I turned my hands and feet into Web Head ones, bounced myself off the wall, and shot a web-line to pull myself upward.
...
On the top floor in another one of the labs, Kyrie was examining the core container.
Kyrie: "A radiation condenser? A dark matter regulator? Vibranium absorption plates? What the hell could these people have been working on?" At that moment I dropped down, hanging upside down from a web-line.
Trey: "Would you believe it's my new garbage disposal?" He immediately got pissed off and went to call his robots, but I quickly shot webbing at his hand. "Nope, this is a private date. No robotic third-wheels."
I dropped down from the web and turned my limbs back to normal, my eyes darting from the others' unconscious bodies to the core container sitting next to Kyrie. I have to do this quickly and carefully, I don't think the core can take anymore action.
Kyrie fumed.
Kyrie: "Fine, I want the honor of killing you myself, anyway." He powered up green and grey energy in his hands and chest reactor. I turned my hands into Firecracker ones and prepared to take him down. He may be one of the best friends I've had since coming to this planet but right now, he's the only thing stopping me from saving it.
Trey: "I'm sorry I have to do this, Kyrie." I started to walk toward him. He grinned.
Kyrie: "Don't worry, Arsenal. You won't be doing anything." I began to feel an aura out of nowhere and then...felt nothing.
Trey: "What the fuck?" My eyes flashed red under my goggles before returning to their golden color and my limbs suddenly changed back to normal. "WHAT THE FUCK?! Not now!"
Kyrie laughed.
Kyrie: "Doesn't feel so good to be powerless, does it? That's how I felt when you took me away from my life!" The core started to heat up more and the diamond started to crack. I looked frantically at Kyrie. We're running out of time.
Trey: "Kyrie, what did you do?" He smirked.
Kyrie: "I didn't do anything, Arsenal. Oh no, you owe the sudden loss of your powers to...your very own partner." I was confused until a door opened and out came Lola motherfucking Pacini, my best friend and member of Team Arsenal.
Trey: "Lola?! What are you doing here? What the fuck is he talking about?!" Lola looked at me, tears pouring out of her eyes.
Lola: "I'm so sorry, Arsenal! I was so stupid!" Kyrie chuckled.
Kyrie: "You see, hero, your colorful-haired sidekick was working for Mister Negative all along. Not only that, but she also has powers." I looked at Lola in shock. Working for Mister Negative?! No way, Lola would never do that, she knows how evil he is. Besides, she doesn't have powers.
Trey: "Lola, don't worry. I'm gonna get you outta here, okay? I don't believe his lies." She didn't say anything, instead looking at me with a grim expression. "They are lies...right?"
She cried even more before answering.
Lola: "I just wanted you to love me like you loved Ellie! I'm so so sorry for all of this!" My heart shattered for the second time tonight. I wanted to drop to my knees and break down but I clenched my fist and shot Lola a serious look through my goggles.
Trey: "Turn my powers back on, Lola. Now." She shook her head.
Lola: "I'm sorry...he sent robots...after my dad. I have no choice." I sighed and looked at the ground.
Trey: "You always have a choice. And I guess I made the wrong one by trusting you." She cried even harder and Kyrie chuckled.
Kyrie: "Don't be so hard on her, Arsey. She didn't tell me who you really are, no matter how much I threatened her. So she is a tiny bit loyal." The diamond around the core crumbled even more and the core started to heat up. As it did, the ground started to rumble. "Oh well, I'll just have to peel the mask off your lifeless face."
He powered up and got ready to charge at me, but I still stood my ground.
Trey: "Powers or not, I'm still Arsenal. And Arsenal doesn't give up." I don't care if Kyrie kills me, I have to at least try to get the core into the container.
Kyrie: "Famous last words." He charged at me and Lola buried her face in her hands. Suddenly, Kyrie got frozen in his tracks. "What?! Why can't I move?!"
I raised an eyebrow in confusion until I realized.
Trey: "Sculptor." Just as I said that, there was a flash of light and there stood Sculptor.
Sculptor: "That is enough, Kyrie Nexus. You will not interfere with the true destiny of this planet." I let out a big sigh of relief. I have never been so happy to see this weirdo.
Kyrie struggled to move, then glared at Sculptor.
Kyrie: "What are you doing? I thought you said I would decide the fate of the planet. What does killing Arsenal have to do with that?" Sculptor shook his head.
Sculptor: "Oh, Kyrie. So smart, so much potential, but you still know so little." He looked at Lola, who was pretty shocked at this point. "Deactivate your powers, if you would."
She nodded quickly and looked at me, but I looked away from her. She sighed and her eyes glowed pink. Immediately, my eyes flashed red under my goggles and I felt my powers return.
Trey: "AWESOME! Sculptor, you're a life saver." He simply nodded.
Sculptor: "Do what you have to do." I nodded and glowed red, transforming into Chromastone.
Chromastone: "This form should help me withstand the radiation and dark matter." I took the red hot core off my back and walked carefully over to the container. "This is it. We did it, we managed to save everyone."
I slowly placed the core into the container and it emitted a powerful wave of radiation. I quickly shielded Lola with my body as the wave passed and instantly, everything started to...calm down. The ground stopped rumbling, the sky turned from orange back to its usual nighttime black, and the plants went from withering to full of life.
Container: "Planetary core safely housed. Tetris Nova condition: stable." I smiled broadly and dropped to my knees, reverting to normal and holding my hands in the air.
Trey: "Holy...fucking...shit. We really did it. We changed the timeline, we proved Paradox wrong...we saved everyone." Lola ran up and hugged me tight. I was so happy that I forgot about everything else and just hugged her back.
Lola: "I knew you could do it, ET. Tetris Nova is lucky to have you." I didn't say anything, just wanting to soak up another big victory. Kyrie looked at Sculptor.
Kyrie: "This is the true destiny of the planet? Arsenal coming out on top, again?!" Sculptor chuckled and shook his head.
Sculptor: "Not exactly." He turned to Kyrie. "You have played your part well, Kyrie, and for that, a final reward; important information."
I suddenly looked up at them, overhearing their conversation.
Trey: "Sculptor, what are you doing?" I shot me a look before looking back at Kyrie.
Sculptor: "Trey Sergauson is Arsenal. He has been Arsenal this entire time and has been lying to you for even longer. The one you have been trying to kill is your best friend." Kyrie's eyes got wide and so did mine and Lola's. WHY THE FUCK DID HE JUST DO THAT?!
Sculptor unfroze Kyrie and he just stared at me.
Kyrie: "Arsenal?...Trey?" He started to shake and I quickly made my mask go away, revealing my face to him.
Trey: "Ky. Ky listen, I was going to tell you! It just never seemed like the right time." I slowly approached him until I was right in front of him. "Ky, say something."
He looked me right in the eyes, his glowing grey.
Kyrie: "Trey...you ruined my life." Just as he said that, an orange beam pierced through the back of his head and out through the front of his skull, killing him instantly.
Trey: "KYRIE!" His body dropped to the ground and I looked up in shock, seeing Sculptor pointing his finger at us.
Sculptor: "I feel as though that was an appropriate time for him to die. As for this planet..." He turned around and powered up energy in his staff, aiming it at the core. I started to sob.
Trey: "No...no, please...you can't DO THIS!" I started to morph into Genocide but Sculptor quickly tapped his staff on the ground. It released a green beam that nailed me spot on. "AHHHHHHH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!"
The beam stopped and I erupted in a green particle explosion. When it cleared, I was...me. FIFTEEN YEAR OLD ME! I looked at my hands and clothes, seeing my original baseball shirt from the old days, then at the original Omnitrix on my left wrist.
Trey: "What the hell did you do?" He grinned.
Sculptor: "Made it so you can't stop me. I couldn't take away your Doppelganger powers without dealing with a big mess from the Council, but I could de-age you back to before you were a Doppelganger. You are 15 years old, aged back to exactly a week after you first discovered the Omnitrix. And now that you are nowhere near a threat.." He turned back to the core and charged up energy again.
Trey: "NO!" I activated the Omnitrix and went to slam it but I was too late. Sculptor fired his energy at the core, easily destroying the container and obliterating the core. Immediately after, the planet began to combust around us and everything froze. I dropped to my knees, looking at the ground.
Trey: "No...I failed everyone...again." I heard chuckling and looked up, seeing Sculptor standing over me.
Sculptor: "No, Trey Sergauson. You played your part, perfectly. You see, it was always my intention to blow up this planet. Whether you succeeded in containing the core or not. It happened before and it had to happen again." I looked up at him, anger and hate evident in my eyes. If I was still a Doppelganger, they'd be glowing like a flashlight.
Trey: "You fucking asshole...WHY? Why put me through all this mystery and build me up with so much hope if you were just going to kill everyone, anyway?! What destiny could possibly make it okay to murder millions of people?!" Sculptor simply laughed again and shrunk down to my size.
Sculptor: "I did tell you all your questions would be answered..." He reached up and took off his helmet, revealing an older looking...Kyrie! "Now is the time."
My eyes got wide as hell and I stepped back, tripping over my own feet.
Trey: "Ky-Kyrie? But...you died! I just saw...what the hell..." Sculptor/Kyrie smirked.
Kyrie: "You are understandably confused so let me clear it up for you. I am not the Kyrie Nexus you know. I am from-"
Trey: "Another dimension."
Kyrie: "Close, another timeline." He snapped his fingers and a monitor appeared. "In my timeline, I wasn't a rich son of a CEO, I was a member of Tombstone's gang. I was scum, nobody cared about me."
He stopped, probably expecting a quip or one-liner. He grinned when I didn't say anything and continued.
Kyrie: "Until one day, Tombstone calls a gang meeting. He says he's got something that'll put us miles ahead of Negative's crew." I nodded in realization.
Trey: "The meta-human formula." He nodded.
Kyrie: "It was supposed to be the perfect plan. Little did we know, Negative had some of the serum too. The two sides started a war and the planet was destroyed."
Trey: "But you conveniently survived."
Kyrie: "My survival had nothing to do with convenience, boy. I was gifted with the same intelligence as my counterpart. Intelligence that I used to predict the destruction of the planet and escape before it happened. I traveled the universe for years, discovering its secrets."
Trey: "Skip to the part that involves you killing all my friends." He grinned.
Kyrie: "Ah, yes. In my original timeline, you and your team defeated the Skrull army without much hassle. The name and legacy of Arsenal had spread so far throughout the universe that I couldn't help but hear of you. That's when I began to form my plan." I glared at him in complete anger. If he's telling the truth, alternate timeline me didn't hand himself over to the Skrulls. So why the hell did I?
Trey: "What plan?"
Kyrie: "To create a new multiverse. One with new information worth knowing. You see, I have learned everything there is to know in this chain of universes and have become bored of it. That is where you came in, Trey Sergauson. I needed the energy from you and all your friends to create an even bigger explosion. One that would rip a hole straight into the Forge of Creation." My eyes widened as I started piecing everything together.
Trey: "So you were the reason the Skrull numbers got so high. You're the reason I even had to make the choice to turn myself over to them. You manipulated my entire life and killed millions of people JUST BECAUSE you can out of stuff to learn?" I was absolutely ripping pissed at this point. If this fucking dickhead had never shown up, I'd still have my life. But, I would've never met Ellie. Ellie...I did all of this for her and she died thinking I didn't even love her.
Kyrie: "Yes and I must thank you, Arsenal. If your friends had not blindly followed your lead like they did, this would never have been possible." I gritted my teeth at him.
Trey: "SHUT UP!"
Kyrie: "Oh, but it's true. Looks like what I told you before was correct; everyone around you gets hurt." He tapped his staff on the ground and some kind of bubble formed around me. "I would kill you, but that's too easy. No, I think I'll keep you alive until every last shread of this multiverse is gone. Once everything you know has been altered, I will then grant you death." I tried to look tough but I'm pretty sure I failed. Truth is, I'm broken. I was so arrogant and my friends believed in me. Where are they, now? Dead because of me.
Trey: "You won't get away with this, Sculptor." He smirked one more time.
Kyrie: "Looks to me like I already have, Arsenal." He pushed my bubble into orbit and snapped his fingers, making everything unfreeze, meaning...
BOOM!
Tetris Nova exploded, blowing a hole in space and opening a portal straight into the already damaged Forge of Creation. The explosion bled into the Forge, causing every universe to explode.
...
Stan Hopkins and his Tennysons looked up at the sky, seeing a huge portal open up.
Stan: "Uncle Max, what's going-" Those were his last words before his universe exploded, along with everything else.
...
Ali and Kyle's Ben were playing Smash Bros when their whole universe evaporated into nothing.
...
Mayta, Kosta's girlfriend, sat in her room looking at a picture of them, when her universe exploded too.
...
As I floated through a crumbling multiverse, everything that happened ran through my head. After replaying everything for what seems like a million times, I decided.
Trey: "Whatever happens to the multiverse now won't be decided by me. I never thought I'd say this but...Arsenal, no more."
To Be Concluded
Yes, I know...you all hate me, For being late on the episode and for, you know, killing everybody lmao. I told you guys this shit would be crazy and no, before you ask, this was not inspired by Infinity War. I've had this planned for a while now. I'd like to thank DMUDZ and XFlasher for letting me use their characters. Shout out to LSK for the Stan cameo too. Hope this doesn't hurt you guy's timeline too much. Anyway, hope you all enjoyed the emotional trauma and see you all next time for the season finale. Give me about 2 months and it'll be great. Let thing, I hope you all are doing well and staying healthy in these trying times. It's our duty as nerds and geeks to band together and support each other like a good family does.
