Hela sighed and buried her head into her arms. "Can't a girl get some rest around he-"
An skeletal burst through the doors, "Queen Hela! There is unrest in the 5th section."
"You have got to be kidding me!" She yelled, and the vases beside her exploded, "I'm am 300ish years old! That means I'm like seven in Midgardian years! I can't deal with this stuff!"
The skeleton backed away slowly. Everyone in Helhiem knew that when Queen Hela lost control of her emotions, she would enter into a fit of violent, merciless rage. She would destroy everything and everyone in her path, and laugh. Only one person could calm her down, and he hadn't visited Helhiem since centuries ago.
"Why?" Hela titled her head up to the sky, "Grandmother, why? Why me? Tell me, please!" Hela sobbed and curled up on her throne, wrapping both her her skeletal arm and flesh arm around her, "Why do I have to do this? I wasn't born half-dead. I wasn't."
Hela Lokidaughter, daughter of Loki, god of lies and mischief, wasn't born half-dead. She was very much alive, and very cute for a baby. Unfortunately, she had accidentally wandered into the path of a raging Odin. In his fury, he cursed her.
Normally, the curse would only cause terrible pain to a full grown person. Hela was barely two. The curse swallowed her tiny body whole and began killing her from the outside in.
In desperation, Loki and Frigga combined their magic to subdue the curse. It worked, but only half way. It pooled in the right side of her body, turning it into barely anything more than a skeleton.
Odin couldn't stand having a half-dead child run around his castle and banished the girl to Helhiem, believing that she would be dead within the hour.
Hela didn't die. Against all odds, she fought against every monster, zombie, ghost, skeleton, and corpse in Helhiem. She was revered as the queen of the dead, and gained the titles of goddess of death, the dead, and dying. The dead raised her the best they could, but Hela began to develop many metal problems.
Finally, Odin allowed Loki and Frigga to visit Hela. Together they did their best to train her in the art of law, royalty, and queenship. They loved her and visited as often as possible.
One day, Hela was called to Asgard for a nine realm meeting. She held it together until Odin began speaking. Her mind shattered, and a single though formed.
Kill
Hela tried. She fought tooth, nail, bone to murder the man who caused her half-death. She was stopped and calmed by Loki and Frigga, but then chose to go back to the only place she was truly excepted.
Over the years, Hela had gained trillions of subjects. Nearly everyone who had died lived in her realm. She was considered odd in the sense that she was completely unfazed by death, blood, murders, assassins, and dying.
Hela exhaled and slid unceremoniously off her throne. Two ghost floated beside her, "Your Highness! Are you alright?"
Hela grunted, "I'm fine. Unkillable, remember?"
"Do you need anything, my lady?" One ghost asked
Hela twisted her head into a unnatural angle and other other ghost winched, hearing the snap of neck bones. The young queen looked at the clock and then twisted her head into place, "Yeah, can you find Lady Peggy Carter and Lady Maria Stark? I want to go to Midgard and I trust those to completely."
"Your Majesty, last time you met with Lady Peggy, you had a heated discussion on how you couldn't allow her to go back to Midgard." A ghost said.
Hela grinned, "Well, I re-wrote the Book of Death. I was going to eventually allow her to leave. Its Peggy Carter!" She laughed. "But in all seriousness, please get those two."
"As you wish, Queen Hela."
