Chapter Forty-Three

(53 Years Old)

Kazeshini was with her Black Cloud, the head strategist of Taiyo, and she was overlooking the seven-tailed beetle. They were in a massive forest region wherein a moss-covered temple resided with the seven-tailed beetle rested in hiding away from the rest of the world.

This particular tailed beast didn't have many devastating myths or legends surrounding it so Kazeshini was hoping on simply being able to walk up to this massive creature and simply talk with it.

So, with her head strategist at her side, Kazeshini began walking into the temple that was rumored that Hagoromo Otsutsuki, the Sage of the Six Paths or Rikudo Sennin, had built for the seven-tails himself.

Kazeshini did not hide her chakra nor did she blatantly flare out her signature as if to give a challenge, Kazeshini stayed calm which also helped her Black Cloud. The man was obviously nervous, not very comfortable, but willing to complete his task to protect the future of the elemental nations as tasked by his leader and queen.

They walked through the grand entrance, it still being grand no matter how derelict it was through age and neglect, and they finally came upon the tailed beast who lay resting upon the temple floor. "Oh, I have visitors! How lucky!"

Kazeshini smiled before bowing politely. "It is indeed lucky, Lady Nanabi, my name is Taiyo Kazeshini and I have a proposal for you to hear."

Its massive green and orange insect wings that represented six of the seven tails flickered and flapped quickly before Nanabi's great blue armored body came around so it was laying with it's great armored head within an easier distance to see Kazeshini. "What do you want to propose to me, I hope it will bring us luck!"

With a sad chuckle, Kazeshini shook her head. "This won't bring any sort of luck for a long time. However, that can wait, I want to know if you have heard of what has happened to your brother, the great nine-tailed fox."

The massive beetle dipped her head in sorrow, "It was a very unlucky day for my brother, why are you speaking about that?"

"I know for a fact that within time, now that one tailed beast has been sealed away, all of the rest of you will be sealed away as well. I was given a prophecy by a little-known prophet telling about blue-eyed child who would connect with the tailed-beasts but I was also warned about the trials the tailed beasts would face should our fate continue on the path it is currently on."

At just the telling of the prophecy that the Nanabi had been told herself by her father, she was taken aback and was much more willing to listen to what the tiny human was saying. "Continue."

Kazeshini nodded, "As you must know by now, humans having been seeking strength in which to dominate others. Many of my fellow humans view the tailed-beasts as monsters, demons or simply mindless beasts. With the capture of the nine-tails, humans have learned that you can now be sealed and for those who want to dominate over others, they will view you as weapons for war."

The great tailed-beast smashed her seven tails down upon the ground, cracking the earth and shaking the very temple to its foundations. "What you are saying is really beginning to upset me! It doesn't sound very lucky at all!"

"No, but I do have a proposal for you, being sealed is going to be inevitable. There is a man who can seal you easily, he will do so in the name of peace, but it will drive you and all your other brothers and sisters to hatred. He is trying to bring peace, but he is not the child of prophecy spoken about by the Rikudo Sennin and his peace will not work as he wishes. You will be sealed no matter where you run or where you hide. However, I am here to give you the choice of when and with whom you will be sealed."

The great tailed-beast was very unhappy currently, her happy mood having been turned dark at the thought of all her family being sealed away to be used as weapons by humans who thought of them as little more than monsters. "What exactly do you mean?"

"I was given very extensive information about the future, however there are things that I cannot stop. The sealing of the tailed beasts is something I cannot stop now that the nine-tailed fox has been sealed. To ensure your safety in the far-off future, with the specific critical incidents not happening for another fifty years, I am giving you the option to be sealed within my subordinate here. He is willing to serve as your companion, confidant, friend, and is willing to use his own soul to house your own."

Nanabi reared back in shock, before turning her great blue helmeted head towards Kazeshini's Black Cloud. "You would do this for me? The Rakki Seben Chomei?"

Kazeshini's Black Cloud stepped forward, his black haori fluttering with every step and his black flak jacket hugging tight to his body over his regular shinobi outfit. "Yes, Lady Nanabi. For my leader, Kazeshini-sama, I willingly stepped forward so that I may protect my home and my people from what is to come of us in the future. I am the Black Cloud of Taiyo, the head strategist for all of Taiyo's warrior forces and I am being entrusted with your safekeeping. With the capture of the nine-tailed fox, every single other tailed-beast will be captured and will eventually be used for war. I have stepped forward willingly to prevent that from happening."

The great beetle peered down at the two small humans and slowly nodded, "I know the nature of humans. No matter how much our father wished for peace, not all humans will believe in what he wanted. I do not want to be used as a weapon like some sort of monster, so I am willing to make a lucky deal."

Kazeshini blew out a breath of relief before smiling, "I will be sealing you into my Black Cloud and then when he is old, I will seal you into the next Black Cloud so on and so forth. You will be honored as a force of nature as well as the daughter of the great sage himself. The seal I will be using is designed so that you are not chained or locked away, but it is open. If you feel that the terms of our arrangement are unsatisfactory, you will be able to break out and free yourself though this will harm but not kill your host. I have been working on these seals for quite a few years now and this will give you plenty of freedom especially compared to being stuck within this temple."

"I do like how that sounds very lucky. Will I be able to see the outside world if I were to be sealed?" asked the Nanabi.

Kazeshini nodded, "You can see the outside world, speak with your host and should you wish it, a small portion of chakra can be used and condensed into a very much smaller version of your form to move in the outside world as you do now. The seal will be open so that you can also help your host by giving them your chakra but only if you wish to."

Kazeshini spoke in detail a bit more about the seal she had designed and after a lengthy conversation to assure the seven-tailed beetle of everything, Kazeshini had her Black Cloud strip and kneel upon the ground in front of the tailed-beast. Kazeshini had already drawn a good portion of the seal upon her subordinate and only had to finish drawing the rest of the seal upon the tailed-beast's head to connect the two together.

With a great burst of chakra to activate the seal, so much chakra that Kazeshini's form flickered and her solid form seemed to lose some of its density before becoming solid 'flesh' once more with the replenishment of nature chakra. The seven-tailed beetle was sucked into the seal painted over Kazeshini's Black Cloud and the seal twisted upon itself to form a simple kanji for seven upon his right pectoral muscle which had a stylized Nanabi grasping the kanji.

Then another burst of chakra came from the seal stylized as a tattoo which formed into a miniaturized Nanabi only the size of a house cat. The beetle flapped her wings and rested her blue armored body upon the Black Cloud's stomach who was currently passed out from exhaustion on the floor. "This smaller form is very lucky! Now I can go anywhere and not worry about destroying everything I walk over!"

Kazeshini couldn't help but coo over how adorable the tiny seven-tailed beast now was before simply smiling, "So do you like your new home within his soul? I made the seal so that everything was completely separate, the seal does not rest over his heart so both of your souls are quite separated from each other I am simply creating space, or even a pocket dimension really, within his soul so that you have a safe place."

The Nanabi nodded, "Yes, everything is fine. While I don't know a whole lot about seals, this one seems to be very well made because I can't influence him overly much and he can't influence me! Everything is very open and I am content with my choice."

Kazeshini smiled warmly, content now that her plans were falling into place without problems. She grabbed her Black Cloud's haori and folded it to place under her subordinate's head while he recovered from the strenuous sealing. He would recover but such a sealing was still difficult on the body no matter how much time and effort Kazeshini had put into creating a seal so that it didn't have to be used upon a small child or baby. "Well, now that you are safe, we still need to find and seal some of your other brothers and sisters so that they can be safe as well. Thank you for trusting me."

The Nanabi nodded, "I felt that today would be lucky, and it was!"

~~~oOo~~~
Kazeshini felt a deep ache in her bones, she was fairly exhausted having gone to different corners of the world to find the four tailed beasts that she and her subordinates had planned on sealing in time.
She had gotten to the final tailed beast, Son Goku or the Four-Tailed Monkey, long before the First Hokage had been racing around the elemental nations to gift the tailed beast to the other rising hidden villages. Just like in the war-room, the spread of the remaining tailed beasts would happen exactly as they had planned. The One-Tailed Tanuki or Shukaku, would go to the newly created Sunagakure in the Land of Wind. The Three-Tailed Turtle or Sanbi, would go to the Kirigakure in the Land of Water. The Five-Tailed Dolphin-Horse or the Gobi, would go to Iwagakure in the Land of Earth. Finally, the Eight-Tailed Ox or Hachibi, would go to Kumogakure in the Land of Lightning.
Taiyo was set to be a super power above all the other villages save for the fact that none of the other nations would ever know.
The fact that she had four of the tailed beasts happily roaming around her hidden village would never be known because they were carefully configured when outside of their seals to look more like special summons instead of tailed beasts.
Her only problem, which her White Lightning had brought up to her since he helped to control and regulate village defenses and the patrols around the borders of Taiyo, was that outsiders had figured out the general location of Taiyo due to the fact that the border was sealed with fuinjutsu. It made for a great defense but once the outsiders knew the general location, there was a clear perimeter that could be circled around. Taiyo wasn't set in the exact center of the fuinjutsu seal but close enough that it could be figured out easily enough with some old maps and common sense.
Now, Kazeshini was set to making an update to the barrier seal she had first created. She was going to create more of a notice-me-not effect in the barriers edges as well as misdirection and genjutsu. Some of her village guards that worked under her White Lightning had volunteered to test out the barrier. The people who had tested the newly improved barrier had all become confused and none could figure out the exact circumference of the barrier even in teams.
Once the barrier was updated, Kazeshini began focusing on ideas from her old world. Things she just barely remembered. She wanted to make life for her people better, she wanted to live in a place where they had the privilege of electricity and other technologies.
She had many ideas she wanted covered and had gone to her Black Lightning who was the head of research and development. Together they pooled their knowledge and ideas together and came up with the many different categories of technology that they wanted to branch into.
The entire R & D building that she had given to her researchers had already been plugging away at learning and discovering new technology from jutsu to medical tech. However, her brainstorming extravaganza with the Black Lightning who was in charge lit a fire under their feet. Suddenly, they would have tons of new ideas to plug away at.
An idea Kazeshini had given them was lightning running through copper could transport energy from one location to the next and somehow a super-heated wire coil in a glass bulb heated from small amounts of lightning would light up a room instead of having to use candles. She had even given them ideas of things like ovens, gas/electric stoves, refrigerators, washing machines, penicillin (though she knew it was from mold she let the researchers discover how to extract the penicillin from the mold), radios, wind and river turbines, and plenty of others.
She hadn't even thought of many of these items until her city had well and truly been established. War had finally broken out in the elemental nations and it was amazing to see the lines drawn across the land. It was Iwagakure who crossed the line first by killing a Konoha boarder patrol. Then, it just seemed to escalate quickly.
Taiyo's people withdrew deep into the boarders and many of the people allied with Taiyo but lived outside of its safe fuinjutsu barrier were given warrior guards as protection. Many people died and soon Kazeshini got word from her Black Mist who was the Head Informant that the First Hokage was running around collecting the tailed beasts to try and bring peace to the elemental nations.
Everything was happening as Kazeshini had known it would, no matter the fact that she was in fact quite scared of the overall consequences. It didn't matter that she had been a kunoichi in the warring clans era as it was starting to be called, this was a full blown war.
Kazeshini sent out teams of warriors who went around collecting the few shinobi and even samurai groups that were left from the forming of the great hidden villages. She even tasked some of her R & D guys to go out on missions to collect blood and tissue samples from the fallen shinobi out on the battle field and even a body if they felt that it wouldn't be missed.
Kazeshini's researchers would begin to piece together bloodlines that would have no doubt gone extinct in this war. She even set up a program for younger orphans that came to Taiyo and gave them the option of undergoing certain treatments that would give them bloodline traits. There was also another program for the artificial insemination that some of the women of Taiyo could opt in to which allowed them to give birth to children from sperm stolen by Kazeshini's black rains who were the spies and infiltrators loyal to Taiyo.
On the flip side, the men and women that were introduced into Taiyo were grateful to have a safe-haven away from the war and Kazeshini had them put to work doing whatever they could to support the village. Kazeshini had seen bloodlines such as a clan who could build a high immunity to poisons, another clan who could see easily in the dark, one young child who's vocal cords allowed her to mimic any sound she hears, a pair of siblings who could regrow parts of their bodies over a short amount of time, or even a small family that grew thin needle like spines instead of normal hair.
The war was beneficial to Taiyo's manpower, though the trade did suffer quite a bit. Kazeshini sent out small raiding parties to gather resources that would normally be harder to obtain but the fighting from the war was allowing her people to slip under the notice of the so-called great powers of the elemental nations. Taiyo's population had boomed again from all the refugees that Kazeshini had allowed into the city that she had begun expanding the space that was situated underneath the main cavern.
Kazeshini wasn't worried about spies infiltrating the village because everyone was screened by her black storm division. The black storms helped to determine loyalties of the people coming in as refugees and the few who were infiltrators sent from the other hidden villages (few that there were) were quickly interrogated and given a mind wipe via fuinjutsu to replace any and all memories about Taiyo that Kazeshini felt should never be in the hands of the other great nations or it would risk the security of her city.
As the months passed and the war didn't seem like it was close to ending, the First Hokage had called a meeting inviting the heads of the other hidden villages to give them the four tailed beasts. Soon after, though in no way that Kazeshini knew about, he was killed. Senju Hashirama was killed and his brother Senju Tobirama became the Second Hokage.
The war escalated quickly and Taiyo stayed in the background, taking advantage of the fact that it was an unknown in the shinobi world. Kazeshini waited patiently for the end of the war because it would mean the start of the second and then the third.
Her people were safe behind the barriers and those that weren't behind the barriers were protected by teams of her warriors.
As quickly as the first shinobi war escalated, it seemed to quit just as quickly by the death of Senju Tobirama the Second Hokage five years after the first skirmishes began of the war.
Five years of death and destruction, multiple pieces of the map had been redrawn because of the devastating effects that some jutsu's had. There was a new Hokage sitting in Konoha and Taiyo was selling medical supplies for low cost to all the small villages and towns sitting in the smaller countries between the five great nations. This allowed for a great reputation to build for Taiyo as well as bring in needed income into the village.
Kazeshini and her people watched with bated breaths as what essentially became a cold war around the elemental nations. Kazeshini figured that the bulk of the fighting had stopped mainly due to tapped out resources. The different shinobi villages needed to gather their resources again to start fighting because Kazeshini knew for a fact that the second shinobi world war would break out only a handful of years after the first war. It would be the second world war that would bring about a longer lasting peace before the third world war started.
However, with the inauguration of the Third Hokage, Kazeshini sent some of her black rains as "refugees" to Konoha to try watching over the young kid currently going through the academy with bright blond hair and blue eyes as well as be on the look out for other important information. Kazeshini had specifically tasked a young pair from the Hatake clan to become "orphan refuges." One was the same age as Namikaze Minato and the other was older by a few years who went by the name of Hatake Sakumo.
The two young Hatake's had been fully briefed on their mission and their minds carefully sealed with replacement memories through fuinjutsu. They knew fully well they were citizens of Taiyo, their loyalties forever belonging to Taiyo and to the rest of their clan, but those memories were carefully buried so as not to alarm Konoha of their true purpose.
The younger Hatake was to work alongside Namikaze Minato and become the best of friends. The goal was to get on Namikaze's genin team under Jiraiya and as the gradual return of memories, as well as implanted memories from loved ones that would still be living in Taiyo surfaced, Namikaze would be influenced by his friend while also being watched over.
Hatake Sakumo on the other hand was going to be Namikaze's friend as well, but more as an elder figure. His goal was for Namikaze to be his kohai. Sakumo's mission was to look out for his fellow clan member as well as rise in the ranks of Konoha to become one of their elite jonin. Kazeshini had even specifically told him that it was perfectly alright to fall in love and marry whomever he wanted while living in Konoha because it would simply give him reason to stay there longer as well as continue his line.
Kazeshini had no way of knowing how this would influence his life and if it would even produce a young Hatake Kakashi but Kazeshini was already surprised that Hatake Sakumo was alive. Maybe that meant that no matter what she did, certain people would always be born and certain events would always happen.
With the board set and all the pieces scattered into their positions, Kazeshini could only wait for time to pass until the time was ripe. The second shinobi world war would happen soon and Hatake Sakumo would be 'graduating' from the academy soon so that he could have some experience before having an active role in the second war while the younger Hatake would be graduating in just a few years with Namikaze right as the second war was going to kick off.
Kazeshini also planned on participating a bit more with the second shinobi war though she would not be dragging Taiyo into any conflicts. Time would tell though, if her plans were to come to fruition.
A/N: I'm just skimming over the first shinobi world war because there aren't many details about it overall even on Narutopedia. Plus, I don't really want to drag it out when we're getting closer and closer to a recognizable time period.
