One hot July day, the Eds were in the junkyard after a scam went awry before they even started and needed a place to cool down. However, as these cool downs tend to go, Edd and Eddy had gotten into one of their many arguments with Ed watching on the sidelines munching on buttered popcorn in a box.
"Funny how it always seems to be MY FAULT when things go bad yet when things look up you claim that it's all your idea!" argued Edd.
"Well all of my ideas would work out if only you two bozos didn't slack off all the time!" retorted Eddy.
"Slack off? You call working my hands to the bone for HOURS on end slacking off?"
"Yeah, when all that so-called 'work' ends up falling down the SECOND someone touches it!"
Just then, Jonny walked into the scene holding Plank as per usual, "Wow, I can hear those two screamin' from my bedroom! What're they on about today?"
Ed swallowed a mouthful of salty snacks, "The usual. Popcorn?"
"Plank wants some!" Jonny held the piece of wood out and Ed poured some popcorn onto Plank's smile.
"Here ya go Plank, enjoy!"
Jonny looked back over to Edd and Eddy, noticing that Double D's face had swollen with red anger. "All I ask for is a little RESPECT!" he cried out, "I bend over backwards for you day after day and how do you repay me? Verbal assault with a multitude of insults!"
Eddy covered his ears with a scowl, "Yeah well you're no better!" he screamed, "You're always nagging at me how things aren't going to work yet you don't do a darn thing to keep it from messing up! I think you mess up on purpose just to make me look stupid! I dunno why I even put you in charge with building the stupid things in the first place if they keep on breaking!"
"Because whenever you or Ed build something, it always becomes a catastrophe! If I wasn't around to construct the impossible things you ask for, you two would've leveled the entire neighborhood ten times over in an afternoon!"
"Who do you think will win?" Ed asked, Jonny looked at him with a smile.
"I dunno, but this is fun! Right Plank?" Jonny looked down at his wooden friend who only stared back. Jonny scratched his head, "Thinking what you're thinking? I dunno, what're you thinking buddy?"
Ten Minutes Later...
"...and furthermore, you have to stop insisting that Kevin and I have any kind of relationship outside of being neighbors! For goodness sake Eddy, can't I just act civil to someone without everyone jumping to conclusions about my sexuality?"
"No you can't! Just like how I can't just go about my day without someone thinking I'm up to no good!"
"That's because you mostly ARE up to no- uh Eddy?"
"What? You gonna complain that I call even the more genuine scams 'scams'?"
"Eddy, a crowd has appeared."
"What?" Eddy turned his head to see Ed and Jonny selling tickets to the rest of the neighborhood kids with Jonny announcing "Place your bets!" over and over. The two arguing boys looked at one another in confusion.
"What the heck am I looking at?" Eddy asked.
"It appears as though Ed and Jonny are selling tickets to watch us argue."
"Why didn't WE think of that?"
Edd groaned, "Because Eddy, if you were to come up with something like this, you would've gone out of your way to make it so needlessly complicated that we'd just end up complaining about it later after it didn't work out."
Eddy growled, "Oh is THAT what you think? At least I'd actually put some effort into it and not act all fake!"
The two continued and the crowd got bigger. By the end of the day, Ed, Jonny, and Plank made bundles of quarters while Eddy and Double D just ended up at an impasse with neither one reaching an agreement or apologizing.
