"Don't worry, I'll be fine," Ruby said to her new "team".

"Are you sure? You shouldn't go alone," said Jaune.

"I can take care of myself," Ruby said, slightly annoyed, "I'll tell her you said 'hey'."

Ruby climbed into the driver's seat of the jeep and drove off. She didn't bother putting on a seatbelt, as Grimm could attack at any moment. She pulled off to the side to ask for directions. She approached a man walking on the sidewalk.

"Excuse me," Ruby said, calling out to him, "Can you possibly int me in the direction of Schnee Manor?"

"Straight ahead through the forest,". He replied.

"Thanks so much," Ruby said, smiling in appreciation.

As the sun began to set, the snowfall became more intense, bringing visibility down dramatically. A large, wet tree branch carrying a large amount of snow began to creak. The branch suddenly gave way, falling directly in front of Ruby's jeep, causing her to lose control. She made too tight of a turn too fast, rolling the jeep and throwing her out of it and rendering her unconscious before she hit the snow, causing it to turn a dark red. The jeep finally stopped upside down against the tree, destroyed.

White.

"I think this will help you be happier," a woman said.

Weiss gazed out the side of the limo.

"Weiss? Are you listening?" the woman asked.

Weiss turned to her sister.

"Oh, yes. Sorry. I was lost in my thoughts," she replied.

"Were you thinking about Beacon?" Winter asked.

Weiss sighed.

"I understand you miss your friends, but you have to think of the positives. You're home. With family," Winter told her.

"They were more than just friends. They were family too. They didn't see a 'Schnee'. They saw me. They accepted me," Weiss exclaimed, "They could all be dead for all I know. I don't think I could stand it if Ruby.."

Weiss quickly wiped a tear that had streaked down her cheek. She wasn't supposed to show emotion. She turned back to the window of the limo. They reached the forest on the edge of the city, when something caused her eyes to widen.

"Stop the car!" she yelled at the driver.

The limo ground to a halt next to the wreckage of an overturned jeep. Weiss immediately jumped out, running over the wreck.

"Hello?" she called out, "Is anyone okay?"

She looked inside the jeep, searching for survivors, only to find it empty. She was about to return to the limo when something froze her in her tracks. She noticed someone facedown in the snow, wearing a red hood and cape. Once again, tears started falling down her face, but she didn't care.

"You- you came back," she said quietly, repeating what Ruby had said to her in the Emerald Forest

She ran over to her former partner, taking Ruby in her arms and hugging her as tight as she could, as she cried into her shoulder. Weiss suddenly remembered where they were, and attempted to pick up Ruby.

"Come on, Ruby. Don't give up on me now," she said.

Winter, seeing who Weiss was holding quickly helped her back in the limo.

"We'll drop her off at the hospital, then head back to the estate," Winter said

"No," Weiss said, "You can go back to the estate. I'm going with Ruby."

"Weiss," Winter said, glaring at her younger sister.

"I already lost her once. I refuse to lose her again," Weiss said, letting her tone show that she was serious.
